Update hangs due to lack of permission - you should fix this

Mac-Notified that FireFox update is available. Goes to update server and stays there doing nothing. Go to "Check for Updates." Says. update is available but you do not have permission to install it. Okay, I can fix that but it would be much better if that message was delivered when it first detected that an update was available. (This is just for those of us who like to consider FireFox to be perfect)

This is not the "problem" at all! I'm using my wife's machine so she is the principal admin. I have admin privileges but I can't re-install or upgrade FireFox (or any other program) without logging out as me and logging in as her. My "complaint" is that if FireFox can recognize this when I select "Check for Upgrades", (and tell me I don't have privileges to make the installation) why can't it tell me this when it automatically checks for upgrades? It would just make it look cleaner. This is normal Mac behavior. I know I could re-install it under my name if I wanted to but then, I would have to upgrade it all the time.
