Schedule SharePoint Server 2013 discoveries along with SharePoint Foundation 2013 discoveries

Hi
So I'm trying to add the SharePoint Server discoveries in SCOM 2012 - pasted the code straight of the MS guide into the config file:
    <Workflow Id="MOSSInstallation.Discovery;WACInstallation.Discovery;SearchExpressInstallation.Discovery;SearchStandardInstallation.Discovery" MP="Microsoft.SharePoint.Server.2013.Discovery" Type="Discovery"
Times="1" />
    <Workflow Id="SPService.Discovery" MP="Microsoft.SharePoint.Server.2013.Discovery" Type="Discovery" Times="4" />
    <Workflow Id="SPSharedService.Discovery" MP="Microsoft.SharePoint.Server.2013.Discovery" Type="Discovery" Times="4" />
    <Workflow Id="SPSharedService.Discovery.WAC" MP="Microsoft.SharePoint.Server.2013.Discovery" Type="Discovery" Times="4" />
However when I run the "Configure" Task I get the following error: (NOTE - I discovered that the Dir "Monitoring Host Temporary Files 28803\2522979" does not even exist - )
The Event Policy for

  • SharePoint 2010 sites along with SharePoint 2013 sites

    Hi,
we have a client who ha SharePoint 2013 foundation installed. They bought third party extension, and unfortunately they found out, that extension is compatible up to SharePoint 2010.
Is it possible to install new SharePoint server 2010, connect it to existing SP 2013 farm and thus activate extension for SP 2010?
    Thanks,
    Tomas

This only works one way and a SharePoint 2013 farm can not consume services from a SharePoint 2010 provider

  • App+IIS server role, WCF data problems with Shrepoint Foundation 2013 install on 2012 R2

    Hi
I am having tremendous trouble installing Sharepoint Foundation on a Windows 2012 R2 domain controller.
The server has just been added to our domain, promoted and this is the first piece of software I am trying to install. I had run Windows Update after joining it to the domain and before making it a member server before it was promoted.
I had real problems getting AppFabric to install but that is now done. However when I run the Sharepoint prerequisite installer (As Administrator) a results screen is displayed stating there was a configuration error during the installation of the Application
Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role. It also says that the installation of Microsoft WCF Data Services 5 was skipped.
I manually added the Application Server Role.
I have manually installed WCF Data Services, which was successful.
    I have used this page
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765260/en-gb to try and get around the Application Server and IIS Roles error. The hotfix quoted on that page is not applicable to this system. I had to run a DISM command to create an image from the OS installation media
before the Powershell commands would work.
Next, I rebooted the server and ran the prerequisite installer again as recommended. However, exactly the same problems are reported.
Can anyone help me with this, please?
    Thanks.

SharePoint is not supported to be installed on a Domain Controller (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2764086). You'll need to find another server.
But regardless, with SharePoint 2013, you need SharePoint 2013 with SP1 in order to install on Server 2012 R2.

  • SharePoint 2010 search webservices compatibility with SharePoint 2013

Please let us know whether the SharePoint 2010 search webservice is compatible with SharePoint 2013.

                + "</soap:Envelope>";
    Please  help

    Hi Raghuramk,
is the web service is a search query web service? if yes, i suppose sharepoint 2013 already deprecated,
    Search Query web service
Description: The Search Query web service is deprecated in SharePoint 2013.
In SharePoint Server 2010, the Search Query web service exposes the SharePoint Enterprise Search capabilities to client applications. This enables you to access search results from client and web applications outside the context of a SharePoint site.
Reason for change: The Search Query web service is deprecated because the client object model (CSOM) and a new REST-based web service are available for developing Office-wide extensibility scenarios. The CSOM exposes the same functionality
as the Search Query web service, and a larger set of functionality for stand-alone client applications.

  • Is Office Home and Business 2013 fully compatible with Sharepoint Online (Office 365)?

My client recently upgraded 3 Windows 7 PCs (2-32 & 1-64-bit OS) from Office 2007 32-bit (which was actually working fine against Exchange/SharePoint Online) to Office Home and Business 2013 (32-bit)
Now, for all 3 PCs, while Office 2013 Word/Excel can open, check out/in, and save SharePoint Online files, there is ALWAYS a 2 minute delay in closing the file which is apparently waiting for the Local Security Authority call to return. This seems
to indicate an issue related to SharePoint security on the client side.
      Problem Event Name: AppHangXProcB1
      Application Name:
    WINWORD.EXE
      Application Version:
    15.0.4657.1000
      Waiting on Application Name:
    lsass.exe:lsasspirpc
This is the Local Security Authority Security Support Provider Interface Remote Procedure Call (LSA SSPI RPC)
My client has 66 licenses for SharePoint Online (Plan 2) and 73 Exchange Online (Plan 1) "stand alone" services. The same failure is happening on 3 Win 7 PCs. All of which I've carefully reviewed against the MS Office trouble shooting guides (start
    Windows OS w/out non-MS services, Word/Excel safe mode w/out add-ons, O365 readiness checks, Office repair, etc.). We have PCs running Win 7 (32 & 64-bit) w/Office 365 ProPlus & Office Professional Plus 2013 that work fine. it's JUST these 3 Win 7
PCs that were upgraded from Office 2007 to Office Home and Business 2013 that have the 2 min. SharePoint file close time.
Can you please confirm that Office Home and Business 2013 is compatible w/SharePoint Online
at least for Excel and Word?
The "slow close" problem can be demonstrated on multiple site collections/sub sites and w/Excel & Word docs in doc libs and lists
After many hours capturing information, following the MS Office trouble shooting guides, and repairing the Office install, I've had no luck in resolving this. While Word/Excel will eventually close SharePoint Online files after about
2 minutes, this is certainly unacceptable. Otherwise, locally stored files close normally and new files were created by the Office 2013 Excel/Word for this testing.
Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi raygabe,
I couldn't find the document mentioned there is any compatibility between Office365 SharePoint online and Office Home and Business 2013 version, I would recommend that you check if the issue could be reproduced on other Win7 machines installed with Office
Home and Business 2013 installed directly instead of upgrading from Office2007, see if issue is related to Office application upgrade.
I also recommend that you post this issue on our dedicated Office365 SharePoint online forum and Office 2013 forum for a better assistance with more experts regarding this issue from the following links.

  • Does the BO Sharepoint 2007 Integration kit work with Sharepoint Serv 3.0?

    Hello,
I have seen several posts about this topic but I still have not come to a correct conclusion. I have Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 and BO Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP3. The getting started documentation for SP3 specifically says the portal integration kit can be used with "MS Windows Sharepoint Services or Sharepoint Server 2007". However when I try to install the the integration kit I receive an error "Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 is required to install the Microsoft Sharepoint Integration Kit".
Is this true? Do I have something setup wrong or is the documentation incorrect and only Sharepoint server 2007 is supported?
It shows WSS as compatible in this document http://www.businessobjects.com/pdf/solutions/microsoft/bo_microsoft_interoperability_final.pdf
Any clarification would be helpful as I have wasted 1+ days trying to figure this out. I just need to know if Sharepoint services and the Sharepoint integration kit will work together with Crystal Server XI R2 SP3.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Hello Ryan,
I recommend to post this query to the [Integration Kits - Other|BusinessObjects Integration Kits; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to the other BusinessObjects Integration Kit.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to other BusinessObjects Integration Kits, including Siebel, Baan, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all SAP Kit queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Thanks a lot,
    Falk

  • Project Pro 2013 and syncing with SharePoint Online 2013 (Office 365)

    Good day,
I am experiencing some challenges with a Project Pro master project file and syncing to SharePoint 2013 (Office 365).
    What works
Individual projects can be synced to SharePoint without issue. Once synced, the site start page presents the Project Summary gant, clicking the Tasks link takes me to the tasks. Project files are stored in the Site Assets directory in each SharePoint site
    (one site per project file).
    What doesn't work
When I create a new project (and sync it to a new site), then add two (2) existing project files that reside on SharePoint and then sync to the new master project site I
don't see any content in the Project Summary gant, nor do I see any tasks in the task list. I can't figure out if this is not supported or if I've done something wrong. There are no error messages or indicators that I've done something wrong,
short of the master project projects not showing up on the master project site (nothing in the project summary gant and no tasks).
Some help would be greatly appreciated. Being able to render a master project is crucial to understanding timelines for many projects in a single view.

    Steven,
This is by design. Inserted Sub projects will NOT show in the Master Project Tasks list. You will only see tasks inserted directly at the Master Project Level.
Moreover, if you set up a dependency between Master project Task and Subproject task, then the sync will not work. All in all, there are limitations for this process, which is where Project Online/Project Server needs to be considered.

  • SQL Server 2012 SP 2 with SharePoint 2010

Can SP2 for SQL Server 2012 be installed in an SharePoint 2010 Farm? If so, does SP 2010 need to be at a specific CU/SP?
I can't find anything about this specific combination.
Dean MCTS-SQL 2005 Business Intelligence, MCITP SharePoint 2010

Yes, you can use any SP or CU for SQL 2012. SharePoint needs to be at 2010 SP1 or higher for SQL 2012 support. SharePoint 2010 SP1 is no longer supported, so you'll want to deploy 2010 SP2.

  • Will Office Web Apps Server 2013 work with SharePoint 2013 sites hosted in SP2010 compatibility mode?

We are planning a upgrade of a SP2010 farm to 2013. There has been a bit of customization so we wish to run the old sites on the new SP2013 platform in SP2010 compatibility mode.
So my question is will Office Web Apps Server 2013 work with the old sites hosted in compatibility mode?
I found a similar query from March 2014 found here
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/93101/office-web-apps-2010-running-on-sharepoint-2013-for-compatibility-mode-sites/116281#116281
Has there been an update released to resolve this
    Cheers D

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you need to know whether Office Web Apps 2013 is working with SharePoint 2013 sites which is in SharePoint 2010 compatibility mode.
For my test, Office Web Apps 2013 with SharePoint 2013 sites which is in SharePoint 2010 compatibility mode is working fine.

I have been reading articles on the internet about this, and I am little bit confused. I understand this is also changed since in SP2013. Could someone with experience clarify.
    1. It looks like Power View has become a part of Reporting Services and can not be installed without Reporting Services, is this correct? If this is true, then what is this
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35577 If not, why do I see a lot of links referring to PowerView as a part of Reporting Services? for example
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/615462/Configure-Power-View-Reporting-Services-Features-o
    2. Do I need Analysis Services in order to use PowerView, is other words is Analysis Services a requirement?
    3. Where do I run the SQL Server 2012 Setup? I was assuming that I need to run it on SharePoint in order to add and register dll's on the SP servers, they are needed in order to create Service Applications (PowerView & PoverPivot). However in pictures
    on the
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/615462/Configure-Power-View-Reporting-Services-Features-o link I see they are adding features to SQL instance. So do we run it on SharePoint or SQL server? If we run it on SharePoint server, what to do with instance name?
If on SQL server, how will SharePoint server get dll's in order to create Service Applications?
    4. Can SQL 2008 be used for PowerView & PoverPivot configuration databases? I mean a scenario when SharePoint has 2012 versions of PowerView & PoverPivot DLLs (i.e. PowerView & PoverPivot Service Applications created
with SQL2012 version), but  configuration databases itself for these applications are in SQL 2008? I know that such a scenario was supported with SSRS on SP2010(you could simply run the SQL2012 setup on SP server and add SQL2012 SSRS, later when you configure
SSRS in SharePoint mode SQL 2008 database could be used as a SSRS configuration database)...
    Thanks in advance!

    1. Part of the confusion comes from the fact that there are several versions of powerview: powerview for SharePoint and PowerView for Excel. But yes, for SharePoint integration it's part of SSRS. (If you're not talking about SharePoint, then you can create
and use PowerView in Excel. No SSRS or SharePoint required. But, the link you provided is for PowerPivot for SharePoint. This provides additional functionality for folks that want to surface PowerPivot workbooks in SharePoint. (which is different than PowerView).
(PowerPivot = tabular data mode in excel = the ability to create pivottables/charts with millions of rows of data in Excel with jaw dropping performance (sorry for the advertising speak, but in my experience, it's true).  PowerView = the ability to create
dashboards / eye candy / other neat visualizations like maps for data that is stored in a tabular data model (PowerPivot or SSAS in tabular mode)).
    2. No. PowerView was originally designed to use "tabular data models" as their source of data. There are two ways to create a tabular data model: An SSAS instance in tabular mode, or an Excel Workbook with a powerPivot data model (PowerPivot is the excel
version of the tabular data model). So, if you have a workbook that has data loaded in through PowerPivot, you can create a PowerView report in that workbook and surface it with excel services, with no SSAS needed.
    3. On a SharePoint box. The only way to install SSRS in SharePoint integrated mode is to install SSRS on a SharePoint WFE. (The databases they use will go on the SQL box, but the bits for SSRS go on the SharePoint box)
    4. According to the following doc, SharePoint 2013 only supports SSRS 2012 SP1 (which means only SQL 2012):

  • Free sharepoint server ?

    hi all,
i am planing to use share point as a project management tool in my new project, and i got a windows XP machine which i don't think can't install sharepoint foundation server for it,
so i am looking for a online sharepoint providers which i may have access to a virutal machine box or online way to login to sharepoint server and run my own sharepoint hosted environment,
any one knows about this ? i don't mind pay as far as its affordable ?
could some one please help on this ?
    thanks
    regards
    suis

You'd need a Server OS (and license) to install SharePoint 2013 foundation. You're correct that you can't use XP, it has to be Server 2008 R2 or later.
One option you should look at is Office 365, where MS host SharePoint for you and do the hard bits then rent the space out to you on a per-user basis.

  • SQL Server 2012 with Visual Studio 2013 with SSIS/Integration services project?

I wanted to build an integration services project to import data from multiple sources using a vendor's API.
I wish I could recall how I got to the point where I was able to build one and have it run successfully, but I had to install so many things that I honestly don't remember.
However, I noticed my PC booting really slowly after that, and I saw that I had components of VS 2010, VS 2012 and VS 2013 installed, along with SQL Server 2008 and 2012.  So I uninstalled a bunch of stuff, hoping to get to where I had only the most
current versions of all, that were compatible with my corporate environment.  So I was aiming for Visual Studio 2013 (Premium, I think) and SQL Server 2012.
Took me 2 days.  Now I'm at the point where I think - and I'm here to learn if I'm correct - that I cannot get an oData Source component into my project and use VS 2013 IF I want to stick with Sql Server 2012.  Is that correct?
I get very confused when trying to determine how the acronyms relate:  SSIS, SSDT, SSDT-BI, etc.

    Hi Anonymous11847,
SSDT: Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2010, it contains Business Intelligence project templates for Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services that support Visual Studio 2010. This can be installed when SQL Server is
installed. It supports various SQL Server versions as follows:
SSAS projects can target SQL Server 2012 or lower
SSRS projects can target SQL Server 2012 or lower
SSIS projects can target only SQL Server 2012
SSDT-BI for VS 2012: Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012, it contains Business Intelligence project templates for Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services that support Visual Studio 2012.
This needs to be separately downloaded and installed. It supports various SQL Server versions as follows:
SSAS projects can target SQL Server 2012 or lower
SSRS projects can target SQL Server 2012 or lower
SSIS projects can target only SQL Server 2012
SSDT-BI for VS 2013: Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013, it contains Business Intelligence project templates for Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services that support Visual Studio 2013.
This needs to be separately downloaded and installed. It supports various SQL Server versions as follows:
SSAS projects can target SQL Server 2014 or lower
SSRS projects can target SQL Server 2014 or lower
SSIS projects can target only SQL Server 2014
So if the SQL Server version is SQL Server 2012, we should install SSDT or SSDT-BI for VS2012 to create SSIS project.

  • Scheduler export along with scenario

    Hi,
I am exporting the scenario but the scheduler is not getting exported along with. Is this feature available or in every environment should we manually insert scheduling?
    Thnak,
    Vikram

    Hi Sutirtha,
If I do an import of the scenario from UI checking that option then it works. But I am using the command line
    $ODI_HOME/bin/startcmd.sh OdiImportObject "-file_name=$HOME/archive/<Scen_Name>" -import_mode=SYNONYM_Insert 2>>$HOME/archive/Error.log
Here what do I need to add in the copmmand line which is equivalent to checking that box(Import Schedules) while UI import?
    Thanks,
    Vikram
