Update installed but no changes.

Hi there. I upgraded to Mavericks last night. I also had iWorks '09 installed on my machine. I was running Pages 4.3; installed from a disk when I puchased my iMac. After installing Mavericks I showed updates available for Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and iPhoto. I clicked the "update all" button and things ran as normal. No error messages or anything. The App Store shows that all three iWork program updates as "installed." The only problem is nothing has changed. Dock icons look the same, and is I select "About Pages" from the menu it shows I am still running Pages 4.3. Same goes for Numbers and Keynote. iPhoto updated.
I have seen that people are having issues even downloading the updates if they have an installed version from a disk but that is not the problem I have. Any ideas on how to resolve?

The newly installed app goes right to /Applications instead of /Applications/iWork'09.
You'll find the new Pages listed in the Applications folder - Just double click on it and it will open.
Once opened, just hold your curson on the icon in the Dock and wait for "Options" to appear. Then you can click on "Keep in Dock" if you so desire.
Just drag the older version icon off of the "Dock" or use the cusor hold tor Options > Remove from Dock

Cannot update- resuming, but file changed on server?

Hi all,
I'm working with Captivate 3, update 2- when I run the
updater from inside Captivate, I get the message "You're resuming a
download, but the file on the server has changed."
I searched the kb, no luck.
I've tried deleting all the Captivate-flavored files from
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Adobe\Updater5\Install and starting the update again, but the
problem is not solved (and the files I deleted are recreated).
Please advise a solution? (We are fully licensed users.)

Yes, I encountered this myself when attempting to update. I
reported it to Adobe and have since been contacted back that come
Monday, I'll likely see a link to download it directly instead of
using the Adobe Updater.

1.1.3 update installed, but cant customize home screen

I updated an iPod touch, and I confirmed in Settings > General > About, that it is running Version 1.1.3.
However, holding my finger down on a home-screen icon for an extended period of time does not put it into customize mode the way it does on my iPhone.
I also noticed that in Safari, when I hit the + plus sign, it does not give me the option to Add to HomeScreen.
But I am 100% sure the update installed and is running. I even have an option in settings >
General > Reset, to "Reset Home Screen Layout"
Now this update was installed from my Mac. But the iPod touch belongs to a friend and I do not want to register to my itunes, etc. I do have a back-up of their iPod Touch on in my iTunes, so I assume that I can do a restore and she wont loose all her songs and videos. After that I can try to apply the update again. Should this work? Are there any steps I should be aware of. I think the weird thing I am doing is trying to update the software from a computer (my macbook) that is not the same computer the iTouch usually syncs with. But I have done this with other peoples iPhones before and never had a probelm.

In addition to installing the firmware version 1.1.3 you must purchase a licence to unlock the software upgrade code.

Updates installed but SCCM 2012 says non-compliant - Compliance 5 - Specific computer report

Hi,
I hope someone has an answer.
When I use the compliance report "Compliance 5 - Specific computer report" I've noticed that some updates need to be installed, but when I check the server the updates are already installed.
This issue occurs for several servers.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Downloaded update installed, but won't go away!

Greetings.
I recently downloaded a batch of software updates, including the SuperDrive Firmware Update 2.1.
All updates installed perfectly, including the Superdrive update.
Now, each time I start the Mac, the update seems to be trying to install again. A disc icon appears in the doc, and a message box pops up saying something like 'update cannot be installed'.
How do I convince it to go away?

Hi all,
I have lost some apps from my iPad for no apparent reason just literally disappeared. I go to app store and all those missing say installing but they are not. I have rebooted the iPad I have logged in and out of the store but to no avail.
Any help appreciated please!
My little daughters GarageBand projects have gone which is one of the biggest losses at the moment

- deleting and reinstalling the app
- Download on your computer and sync

My Firefox 36.0.4 keeps crashing after many years without any problem. I tried updating, restoring and re-installing but no change.

This happens while surfing different sites. Sent several crash reports but have not received any response.

hello, the norton identity safe extension seems to play a part in the one crash report id you've mentioned. please try to use norton live update to bring all its components up to date or in case this doesn't help or you're already on the latest version, try disabling the addon for the moment: [[Disable or remove Add-ons]]

disc on their auction site, but only on disc not a download which is more convenient & faster

that I have read suggest you don't need any drivers if you use HP EasyPhotoSoftware installed.

This forum is for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Since that version won't run on your PowerMac, you're not likely to get many helpful responses here.
In any case, I'll try to offer some basic troubleshooting suggestions:
The PS designation on your printer denotes the PostScript printer language. Is your applications software and current printer driver configured to send PostScript (or HP-GL or HP-PCL or ???)
Does ANY application print anything (even gibberish) to the printer?

Does the printer time-out with every program, or just one? Have you tried another cable?
OS X 10.5 Leopard is no longer sold by Apple. It was never sold as a download, sold only on CD/DVD disc. Discs might still be available for purchase on eBay.
OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" is the oldest version of OS X still sold by Apple, and it too is available ONLY on CD/DVD for $20, but it will not run on your PowerMac, because Snow Leopard requires an Intel processor: os x snow leopard requirements

How is the printer connected to the computer? Are you using a USB interface, a Centronics 'Parallel' interface, or a JetDirect network interface?
It appears that the network timeout default for the printer was 30 minutes, but it can apparently be set in the range of anything 30-seconds and longer. The manual notes that some software does not send an 'end of job' postscript marker, so that is the reason for the time-out setting.

Update installed but not recognized

I have a numeric alert (1) for an update in App store. For Aperture.
Yet the information stated I have Installed it. It is greyed out.
I can't get rid of this annoying notification. I sign out/in.
restart Mac.
open close Aperture.
but it persists.
Why?

This is an annoying and regularly arising nuisance.   It really is time Apple did something about it.
I've mislaid the thread link but Dah*veed wrote recently to offer the following solution.    Hope he won't mind me repeating it.
'You could try reindexing your HDD.   The MAS uses the Spotlight indexing in determining what apps need updating.   Go to Systems Preferences / Spotlight/ Privacy; add your Hdd to the list then remove it from the list.   Spotlight will then reindex your HDD.'

Update installed but still showing

I have updated my IMac with the latest update for IPhoto. This is showing as installed and the IPhot version has been updated yet the update is still showing as required even though it says it has been installed. Not a major problem but anyone any ideas why this has happened.

One idea...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

Adobe Flash 14 and Silverlight Update install, but do not work

I can not watch videos on you tube because it says I need to update the adbe flash on my brand new iMac, same thing with silverlight when I try to watch a show on Netflix. I have downloaded and installed the new versions, but when I try to watch anything it says I need to update still. Whats going on?

Make sure that your Safari plugins are activated. Safari menu - Preferences - Security. It's just next to the checkbox which activates Java.

Mac IOS Flash Player updated installed but not detected

I have repeatedly installed the new version of FlashPlayer when prompted over the past few days. My computere shows the installation as successful, but it's not working. I've visited the Adobe Troubleshooting page, and it does not detect the installation, although my finder show the program as installed. My computer is compatible with the new version, although I'm running an older IOS - Snow Leopoard ( 10.6.8) I've reinstalled several times following all directions - uninstalled old version, unblocked pop-ups, disabled fierwall.
VERY frustrating!

Snow Leopard is not iOS... iOS is an iPhone, an iPad or an iPod Touch. And there has never been a Flash Player for iOS, because Apple made iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch incompatible with Flash Player right from the start.

I don't suspect Malware yet, Id guess Disk corruption or failing Hard Drive with Files not found.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Added Mars update site but 'No updates were found'

I'm currently using Eclipse Luna Service Release 2 (4.4.2) on Win 7 Professional (64 bit).
I'm trying to update to Mars and I've added 'http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars/' as an update site but when hitting 'Check for Updates' I'm just getting 'No updates were found'.
I've tried closing and re-opening Eclipse, and reloading the update site, but no change.
Any ideas what the problem is?

This can be caused by additional software that you had installed into your Luna IDE. Can you please show us a screenshot
of your Installed Software dialog?
I've tried it with a fresh Luna SR2 IDE (for Java Developers, no other software installed) and it properly updates to
Mars after I added http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars .

10.6.2 Update installed two times

Hello!
When I installed the 10.6.2 Update it was installed two times.
I made a screenshot of it:

And why is the update installed two times? The first was 127 MB and the second was about 700 MB.

No. I opened software update and it shows me the 10.6.2 update. I installed this (ca. 170 MB). Then restart, but still 10.6.1.
After this I re-opened software update and do I see there? A 10.6.2 update but bigger, 725 MB.
So why was the smaller update installed but obviously faulty and installing the 10.6.2 update again?
