Update reader 11.0.9 OSX = error 1565

Hi Telli1,
Are you still facing this issue?
You may try to check if you have any existing version installed. Try uninstall that one if any previous version is installed.
You may try to create a new user profile and then try install Reader again.

Ajlan Huda.

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 "Internal Error" - Mac OSX 10.7.4?

Battling for hours trying to get the Reader to work with a new MBP running 10.7.4.  It downloads and installs OK and I get the licensing page but after clicking 'Agree' I just get 'An Internal Error Occurred'.
For hours this drove me mad.  I tried deleting, re-installing, eliminating all traces of Adobe from User and Root libraries under Application Support, Preferences and also Internet Plug Ins.  I've also tried the (not) fix of installing Java Runtime.
Having done more digging - I have a second 'admin' user on the Mac, just in case I ever have problems with the one I use day to day.  When I logged is as THAT administrator, Reader opened and worked?
Adobe Reader worked under the spare Admin account so I deleted that in case it was confusing the installer.  I then rerpaired persmissions.  I then re-installed Reader.  Same problem "Internal Error"!!
So, I re-created another Admin account and again opened Reader.  No problem?  After clicking accept licence it opened up with a question to make default or not.  After this I hunted through every folder and found that Under 'User/Librarary/Application Support/Adobe' there was an Acrobat folder.  When I checked the account I normally use there wasn't, and never was??  So I copied pasted a copy of the Acrobat folder into the same location on the non working account and all is fine.
Problem for me is, why did this happen?  I wasted almost a day on this. Is it a problem with the installer, the Macbook or Permissions.  I checked permissions and they are identical to those on the spare Admin account.  So why did the installer not create the Acrobat folder on the main account from where it was installed, the one I was using at the time?  Yet with an account created after install it correctly opens up with an Acrobat folder under that User/Library/ Application/Support.  Reason it concerns me is with regard to updates.  Will they also screw up?
I'll try to explore further as times goes on but for now I have to say I've had enough of Acrobat and Lion for one day.  "It just works".  Really???

Right. After almost a day I finally sorted the problem.

  • Did you get error 1067 when updating Reader?

If you got update error 1067 when updating Reader, I'd like to hear more so we can find a solution.
What OS are you using and what version (such as Window XP SP2)?
What version of Reader do you have?
What was the error message you got?
How much disk space do you have available?
How much memory (RAM) is on your system?
I recommend you try installing again using the direct download link noted in this document under "Try a different download link":
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/836/cpsid_83641.html#main_Try_a_different_download_link
Please let me know if this helps. We haven't been able to reproduce this error.
    Thanks so much!

I just worked through this error on my Dad's computer.  He has XP Home SP 3, Adobe Acrobat 4 and Reader 9.4.7 were already installed. He has been getting to 1067 error for some time and just clicking through it.  I manually un-installed Acrobat 4,  but left the shared files in web/common alone.  I did not touch Reader 9.4.7. I downloaded the alternate installer for Adobe 10.1.2 for English and ran it.  It did complain, eventually, about 9.4.7 still having a file in use, but I'd left the previous dialog from the 9.4.7 updater failure open.  I closed that 9.4.7 failure dialog and hit 'retry', and the installer proceeded onward and seems to have completed successfully.
This machine has 1 gig of RAM and approx 4G of free disk space on C:.

Assuming that you are in Win (which you haven't said), you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of previous versions of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
and run it immediately after restarting your computer.

  • HELP! - Can't update Adobe Air Apps - Application Install Error

I have several Adobe Air Apps on my Mac OSX (10.9.4) MackBook Pro. They won't update due to the following Install Error.
"The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem. The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid. Please contact the application author."
Following the above instructions, I've been contacting the authors of my Adobe Air Apps and they are telling me that it is not their problem. The Apps should simply update without difficulty.
I searched the "Google" and found no fix other than uninstall and reinstall Adobe Air. Did this and the problem persists.
If you can help me get beyond this issue and back to productivity, I'd be very appreciative.
    Thanks!
    David

I had a similar problem when trying to install Zinio.air. I have made it all work out. What i did was remove Adobe Air 15 entirely from the Utiliites and Library/ accounts and preferences. I then downloaded Adobe Air 13 and installed and then clicked on Zinio .air and it all installed ok. I also had to temporarily change security settings from Apple approved to Anywhere. All functioning now.

The iphone software update server could not be contacted" - error message recieved when i try to update to 5.1.1 via itunes , what can i do ?

    Dear Lawrence Finch:
If you're still around I hope you see this message, as you're the FIRST person (after reading every link, thread, other sites, apple support articles, etc.) to mention JB may be causing this iTunes popup window to REPEATEDLY occur:
"The iPhone software update server could not be contacted."
No, I did not hack anything (are you kidding?  Grannies don't hack!), but I unknowingly bought a 3Gs iOS 3.1 from ebay that was not advertised as JB.  Since it is like brand new, I was going to keep it (because my old backup is iOS 3.1.2) & was trying to simply restore & update, which (I thought) would remove the JB (that's what everybody says at forums, etc).
Instead, after "erasing all settings/content" (inside phone's Settings to get the prior person's name out of there), it is now stuck in White Apple Mode.
Put it in DFU/Recovery Mode & connect to iTunes but that stupid above message keeps appearing & I have already read/tried EVERYTHING to get rid of that message, starting with:
    1.  OLD phones (3Gs) with OLD iOS 3.1+ should work FINE with OLD Mac (iBook) with OLD OSX (Tiger 10.4.11) with OLD iTunes (9.2.1[5]).  So that can't be the problem.
Here's all the other things apple & others say to check which I already checked:
    2.  USB ports are FINE, both work FINE, so that's not the problem.
    3.  No "extra USB devices" are connected, ONLY a mouse, & then the phone (yes, I tried it w/o the mouse connected but that didn't help).
    4.  No "usb hubs."
    5.  Latest iTunes for this OSX has already been DL'd (iTunes 9.2.1[5]).  If you know of a newer one for this OSX, please advise.
    6.  No antivirus software.
    7.  No security software.
    8.  No routers; only 1 comcast modem, period.  Wired Ethernet.
    9.  No wifi gadgets, no wifi at all.
    10.  No firewalls, except what is on iBook in the SHARING/System-Prefs. section.  It's turned OFF.
    11.  Did the hosts/terminal thing sudo nano whatever it was.  There were only 3 lines, NO gs.apple.com:
    xxxxx local host
    xxxxx broadcast host
    xxxx local host
Oh, & btw, ATT officially unlocked this phone (after I filled out their online forms) but I can't finish the process via iTunes to get their Confirmation that "Device is Now Unlocked," so I can use T-Mo.
So that's it.  If you have any other ideas of what to do from here, since from your comment, maybe it's the stupid JB on this phone that is causing the problem (???), please advise.
    Many thanks!

  • Software Update Failure - Mid 2010 iMac / OSX 10.6.4

I just received a never before opened or used iMac that was sitting in a storage room at work since 2010.  I have been attempting to update the software but it always fails.  I have tried by clicking on the Software Update button located under About this Mac and through Apples website.  Same error every time.  I don't need to do anything fancy, just wanted to update to the latest software / OSX Mavericks.  From what I have read my model is new enough and should upgrade, any help is appreciated.

If this Mac is still on OS X 10.6.4, you need to use the OS X Software Update feature in the OS X System Prefernces Panel to update to OS X 10.6.8.
This update will  give you access to the Mac App Store where you can upgrade your Mac to OS X Mavericks.
What year, screen size, CPU speed and amount of RAM installed?
To find out info about your system,
click on the Apple symbol in the upper left of the OS X main menu bar. A drop down menu appears.
Click About this Mac. A smaller popup window appears. This gives you basic info like what version of OS X your iMac is running, the speed of your iMac's CPU and how much RAM is installed.
Click on the button that says More Info. A larger window appears giving you a complete overview of your iMac's hardware specs.
Highlight all of this info and copy/paste all of this into another reply to this post, editing out your iMac's serial number before actually posting the reply.
This will tell us everything about your iMac so we may begin to help with your iMac issues.
Before upgrading to OS X Mavericks, make sure that your Mac has, at least 4 GBs of RAM installed and meets these other requirements.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!
    The End!

  • I have been using itunes on my windows based pc for years but since installing the latest itunes update I have been getting the error message A required itunes component is not installed. Please reinstall itunes. (-42404)

I have been using itunes on my windows 64 bit laptop for years but since downloading the latest itunes 10.7 update whenever I opened itunes the error message 'A required itunes component is not installed. Please reinstall itunes (-42404)'
Itunes would still load and play music in my library and I could still sync my ipod but when loading a CD itunes would not recognise the album/tracks and I would need to type them manualing after uploading.
I have just bought the new iphone5 and went to sync the phone with itunes. itunes recognises the iphone when plugged in via the usb port or when wi fi is turned on but itunes will not allow the phone to sync.
I spent over an hour the other morning speaking to apple customer support and have ensured I have administer right and that UAC is turned off.
I was taken through msconfigure and adjusted the startup tab but still no joy.
In the end I was e-mailed instructions on how to uninstall and then reinstall itunes and component parts.
Now that I've uninstalled itunes when I try reinstalling I get the following messages during the download.
    The 1st message is;
'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application  Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
    When I click ok the next message that appears sometime later during the install is;
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) Failed to start Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
The options I have are to abort, retry or ignore. If I retry the same message comes back and if I  abort or ignore the download continues and I then get the following message:
'Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run itunes Helper. Please uninstall itunes, then reinstall itunes again. Error 2'
After attempting to reinstall itunes only some components were installed however itunes would not open.
It would appear many people have experienced problems with this latest download!

'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
