Update table data based on sheet

Hi
I'm still trying to find an easy sollution to the following problem
I'd like to update the data in a table with the data I have in a sheet
I found the possibility to insert but I'd like to do an update or even a merge from the sheet with less clicks and no copy paste
Does HTML DB have this functionallity hidden somewhere?
I'll have to do this for a large number of sheets with the same structure but different names
To me the ideal sollution would be the possibility to define a 'profiile' for the sheet in which you can state the table, collumns and join condition
So when I'm uploading I only have to choose the profile and give the file name as input

I'm sure this requirement has already been mentioned and I believe the solution is/was to load in the usual way and then use your own procedure (maybe kicked off by a trigger) to update/insert/whatever on your own tables, and then delete from the upload table ready for the next sheet (or use sqlldr from a script -- could then be called repeatedly in a for loop to run in a whole lot of sheets in one hit -- for the dataloads to a temporary table then kick off the procedure).

Cannot update table data based on values of numeric fields

I have a button on a form with two numeric fields: P11_numeric1 and P11_numeric2.
I want to be able to either run a stored procedure or execute the update logic. We're on apex 4.0.
I tried the follow syntax in a process run by a button:

And nothing happened.
If I try to run the proc in toad with hard coded parameter values, the proc works.
I tried this:

set value=:P11_numeric1

And this doesn't work.
I tried:

update schema.tablename
set value=1
where id=2;
commit;
end;
And that worked, so I assume the issue is with getting the numeric field values. Am I using incorrect syntax?

I'm on apex 4.0.2 btw. I had two main problems: 1) the process that my procedure was in was in a sequence number lower than the MRU process sequence number. I didn't want to use the MRU so I changed it to being called by ajax calls only (which I don't have on the page, effectively not firing this process on page submit). Changing the sequence number of the process call to the procedure higher then allowed me to run the stored procedure.
The next problem was that the fields weren't being passed into the proc.
It looks like the type of the field made a bit of a difference to sending in the parameter for the procedure. The data is either integer or numeric and if the fields were set to a text field, and the proc was changed to accept varchar2 data and convert using to_number in the proc that the data was accepted and was fine. For the integer fields, I was able to (and wanted to) change the field type to display only as this is a read only screen with an button to save the data. For the numeric fields, for some reason the display field type did not allow the field value to be passed to the stored proc.
I'll take a look at the session values not getting set but has anyone heard of that happening to display only fields with numeric data specifically?

I think we can do using trigger on table, but problem
is if i am having 20 tables means i have to write 20
trigger. i don't want like this.Of course it's still possible, typically you'll find applications with a column LAST_UPDATE, probably a LAST_UPDATED_BY and so on column. You don't say what your business need is, if you just want a one of query of updates to particular records and have a recent version of Oracle, then flashback query may well help, if you want to record update timestamps you either have to modify the table, or write some code to store your updates in an audit table somewhere.

i have 9830 data in MIS_LEDGER_DETAIL_tEST table ... i am updating table data but it is taking more time to update for 01-may-2010 it is not completing execution in 15 min so i abort it...
how to write update query....?? please guide me...

Why do you need a cursor or a loop at all? What in your statement can not be accomplished with a simple UPDATE TABLE?
But if you do require a loop, I don't see it, then use BULK COLLECT and FORALL statements

I was done all, but I'm getting 500 Exception please contact u r system admin msg at run time, also Jxl/Workbook class not found msg but I downloaded Jxl.jar file and its showing in navigator>Lib>jxl.jar. There is no error signals in coding part.

Downloading table data into Excel sheet - Webdynpro Java

Hi All,
We have developed a custom webdynpro application that executes an RFC and displays data in Table UI element. We have provided a button to download the data in excel sheet. When data is huge like, total number of rows filled up in the table are around 11,000 & columns are 32, and when user tries to download whole 11000 rows in excel sheet, the timeout occurs after 20 mins due to huge data. But when I apply filtering on the same table data and then try to download some 700 rows out of 11000 into excel, it took me around 3.36 mins.
If anyone encountered such scenario in past, please guide in this regard to speed-up the download to excel functionality or suggest any other alternative.
We are using 7.3 Portal and tableUtilities java class for export to excel functionality.

sorry im not able to understand properly ,
The server don't restarts automatically when we uploading a huge data, onlly we open the file instead of save the file.
If we save the file the problem is that when we try to open this, the process can take hours and sometimes excel is blocked
you mean that after saving the file to your desktop , having huge data you are not able to open the file i.e the excel file. your file gets blocked or consumes more time to open the file ,
or else when you are prompted for saving or opening , on click of opening you are facing the problem ?
let me be clear with your part , here your application deals with uploading the data from webdynpro table to excel sheet and allowing the end user to save or open the file right .

Download internal table data into excel sheet with column heading and data

I am having one internal table with column headings and other table with data.
i want to download the data with these tables into an excel sheet.
It should ask the user for file name to save it on their own name. They should give the file name in runtime and it should be downloaded into an excel sheet.
Can anyone tell what is the right function module for downloading these two internal table data with column heading and data.

I am not sure which FM u r using for downloading. The FM GUI_DOWNLOAD will work for your requirement. Set the parameter Append to value 'A'. Every time it will append the data to ur file.

Problem while Exporting Table Data to Excel Sheet

Im getting problem while downloading the table data to Excel.
Steps i was fallowed:
1)created Context node with four attributs.
2)created one attribut(resource) type: com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Resource
3)Taken one Filedownload UI and Property resource bounded to (resource)
4)Added required jar file in the library and copied the same jar file in the navigator lib file
written the necessary coding but showing the below problem in the Browser
You must Flush before accessing the resource content
Please give me any suggestion on this

I have triede this cursor procedure but I get an compilation error.

Displaying only the relevant table data based on condition

Is it possible to display a part of a table based on a condition which is not in that table.
My example - I am using the spreadsheet to determine the accumulation of $$ in an account over a period of time and then how quickly that would be spent at a designated withdrawal rate.
However, I only want to display the values that relate to the time frame I specify.
So in one table I have Personal Data like income, savings, age, interest rate, spending etc.
In this table I have one column as Age Today and another is Age to stop, then age to Start spending.
My second tale has all the relevant calculations to accumulate and then withdraw and spend the money.
What I am looking to do is create and display the relevant portions of the table which refer to the Age Today and Age to Stop.
Is this possible?

At this time, there is no such a feature in Numbers.
_Go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'09

Hi All,
I have an internal table have some data , which I have to populate and save excel sheet on presentation server and application server both according to options, with column heading and header text through program.
could any one help me how to do it, if possible a sample code.

Transferring Data from ABAP Internal Table to Excel Sheet
If you wish to transfer data from ABAP internal table to EXCEL you can use the following function module.
MS_EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT
This function module populates an existing excel sheet with the data from the ABAP internal table. Please find below code which shows hwo to declare and populate the import and important parameters. In the next section we will see in depth how this function module operates.

Is there a process/program to update tables/data after System Refresh?

We are planning a refresh of SAP R/3 47 and SRM EBP 4.0. Copies of all data from our production system will be refreshed onto our test environment.
Is there a program that can be run to reset the "Destination" targets as there is with "source" using BDLS?
We can copy out certain tables and reimport, but we fear that we may be missing something. If anyone has informatoin on the process for performing a refresh, we would appreciate hearing about it.

Using BDLS and clearing out some of the custom tables (allowing normal programs to rebuild data points) did the trick.

Hi Bill,
BDLS takes care of the table entries that correspond to the Logical System. This takes care of almost 80-90% of the entries.
Keep in mind however, you will need to change all the entries that correspond to an backend RFC destination or other webservers once a copy is made; as those are not updated by BDLS.
Some of these are (as it is entirely dependent on the scenarios being implemented):
