Updating the contents of a text item only if ......

Hi ,
Suppose that we have a text item which can host up to 500 characters. On double-clicking on this item an lov is activated and a description of a parameter table appears in it....
I want this item's content not to be updated .... but simultaneously the end-user can add (only add) more characters on it......
To be more specific.... assume that:
the words "sample data" appear in this item -as its contents , when the user select a record in an activated lov- but the user cannot alter these words....-sample_data- or deleted them...
He can only put a period ('.') and add more info/notes e.t.c......
Is it achievable somehow...???

Yes... i was aware of 'indirect' solutions...-i mean solutions which use of additional variables or non-db based item.....
Is it possible , anyway, to achieve my requirement without using an 'indirect' solution.... I mean that the user cannot update the value returned by an lov , but he can add - only add some characters , as notes to this particular text item.....

Error while updating the content in workflow

Hi,
I'm getting an error while updating the content in workflow thru the checkout option. i.e. contributor checks in the content - reviewer rejects the content - then contributor checks out and modifies the content as per the reviewer's remarks and while checking in the following error occurs

Update the change history for line items in CDHDR/CDPOS

Hi,
I have a problem in updating the sales order and line items in CDHDR/CDPOS when there is change in header level custom field..
Actually i have a custom field in VBAK which added in additional data A in the header level of sales order.When we have change in that field only some line items only updating in the change history tables(CDHDR/CDPOS),but we need to capture all the line items when the custom field in the header level is changed.
i have added change document flag in the data element of the custom field.
Please advice me how to get all the line items will reflect in CDHDR/CDPOS when the header level custom field has change .

The purpose of CHANGE DOCUMENT tables is to flag the changes with Old and New values. So when Header data is changed only Header details will be tracked and same for Item tables too.
If you need anything addtional from this then that would customizing.
I am not sure what is your requirement but to make it simple and achive requirement add same field with same setting to line item tables VBAP, VBKD.. (as required, if that's doesnt impact your Order. These fields no need to be on screen). While changing your Custom field of Header level change the item level field too. Then CHANGE DOCUMENT will generate automatically for all the line item including header.

Approval Workflow does not update the Content Approval status if started automatically

I’m using a simple Approval Workflow associated with
Content Approval on site pages. It works fine when I set it to be started manually (by using
Allow this workflow to be manually started by an authenticated user with Edit Item permissions
option) and on the completion of the workflow the
Content Approval status is updated accordingly. But when I set it to be started automatically (by using
Start this workflow when a new item is created
/ Start this workflow when an item is changed
options), it does not updates the Content Approval status. Note that I’ve set the
Update the approval status after the workflow is completed (use this workflow to control content approval)
option to true.

It is recommended to select "Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item" when you want to use the workflow to manage content approval for
a library.
According to the Notes for “Enable Content Approval” option in
this reference:
If you are using this Approval workflow to manage content approval (moderation) for a library, and you selected the Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version
of an item check box on the Add a Workflow page..
If you did not select the Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item check box on the Add a Workflow page because you do not want this workflow to
be the default content approval workflow for a library, you can select the Update the approval status (use this workflow to control content approval) check box to make this workflow a secondary content approval workflow that specific users can
start manually.
That means having an approval workflow start automatically when a document is changed or created is not a good practice when you want to use the workflow to manage
content approval for a library. You should either select "Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item" or give users the option to start the workflow manually at the time they want to submit for an approval.

One way is to use sqlloader. Three files are used. A control file, an xml data file, and a file with the path of the xml data file. Here's the control file. It reads load.file, which is the file with the path of the xml data file. It names the path ext_path, and inserts the xml into field xml_field.

i worked with apex 4.2 and i create normal classic report with one select list(named loved)Column ,now i want to update table when user change the list with new value ,i can't create dynamic action to do this,i create check box with primary key and loop for check item to update the table but i can't get the value of list item. and for more speed the user want to do this when change the list value.
my question
1- how to do this by javascript and get the value from list item and update the table with new value
2- is i must use API to create list item so i can get the value of item in report or what.

I have been developing a application in j2me wherein i need to first read the contents of the text file stored along with the midlet and later erase the existing content and update it with some text.
I was able to read the file in the following manner

Adobe Content Viewer in iPad dont update the contents on mi Folio Builder! Help!

In Acrobat.com i see the contents update, but in iPad/Adobe Content Viewer not.

I am new to servlet, I have written a java servlet code which can read a file and display its content in command prompt only(resin),i would like to ask how can i display the content on the browser and i also want to ask how to write a servlet which can display the conetent from a web browser( e.g. whatever i type in a form) and produce the result in the text file.
