Updating to Xcode 4.0.2

I have Xcode 4.0.1 installed from the MAS and whist the Xcode App Store page is showing that the latest version available is 4.0.2 this version is showing in the list of available updates? How can I update to this version?

Hi,
Install the v10.6.7 combo update available here.
Make sure and restart your Mac after the combo is installed. It's ok to do this even if you are already running v10.6.7.

Dashcode is not working in Mountain Lion. I tried updating to Xcode 4.4 and it still did not work . . .
I use dashcode for most of my coding needs, so it is very important to me!

I have the same problem too. dashcode shows up in the finder but its just a question mark (see screenshot). Anyone found a way to address this?
    Thanks!

  • Problem with "ld" after updating to Xcode 2.3

After updating to Xcode 2.3, I got an error when building a FORTRAN program. The problem seems to occur at the linking stage. The error message goes like this:
    /usr/bin/ld: can't open: /usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.0/libgcc.a (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
It is true that there is no such a directory (/usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.0), but there is one named
    /usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.1
Why does "ld" seem to miss the update?
(Some article on the web suggest adding -lSystemStubs -lcc_dynamic flag. How does that work?) Thanks
    1.5 GHz PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

ld comes with Apple's XCode, but g77 (or some other program in the g77 package) is what calls ld. When g77 itself is compiled, it hard-codes a list of paths to some xcode-supplied gcc files. If your g77 predates the release of xcode2.3, it would only know the locations of the older gcc (4.0.0) files (until xcode2.3 was released, nobody knew which gcc version it would have or where its files would be).
Fink's g77 3.4.3-13 and 3.4.3-100 both appear to encode locations for both gcc 4.0.0 and gcc 4.0.1. Perhaps you have a slightly older revision?

  • Can Drivers Be Updated w/ XCode?

Aside from html, a bit of PERL, PHP, and Java, I have never written code. In fact, I am a photographer by trade. One of the annoying things about upgrading to the Intel processor is the number of my hardware drivers that do not work. Is it possible to upgrade existing hardware drivers with XCode?
If this is possible, the first project that I would like to undertake is to fix the driver which allows me to connect my camera to my laptop and shoot tethered via firewire cable. The existing driver installs on my MBP but cannot connect with the camera. I assume this is because of a small part of the driver that addresses the firewire connection that is no longer functional. Am I naive but this seems like it should be easy to fix ( anything is easy if you know how - I do not).
I created a new project and attempted to open the driver in XCode. I was not successful. I assume the reason is because the driver is compiled. Am I right? Is there any way to reverse engineer the driver? I believe that most of the code that I need already exist. For example, when I connect my camera to my MBP iPhoto automatically downloads the files. However, iPhoto does not work for me as it was designed primarily as a post-production tool. The same for Aperture.
Any words of wisdom? Has XCode for Dummies been written yet?
    TC

I spent the day working on the problem of not being able to shoot tethered to my MBP and discovered that the problem was not as bad as I had thought. The answer to my problem is an application that is part of the OS that I was previously not aware of. In the Applications Folder I discovered a utility called Image Capture. I suspect that Image Capture is the utility that causes iPhoto to connect to your camera. With Image Capture, the workflow is not perfect but is a suitable workaround until I can upgrade my cameras.
Image Capture allows me to designate the folder where I want my file written to my hard drive. It allows me to specify which helper application I want to view or manipulate my file in. I selected Adobe Bridge but I could have selected iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Photoshop, or any other image browser/editor.
In the preferences I can elect to have the files automatically downloaded to the folder that I have designated on my hard drive. This does not seem to work properly, at least with my Kodak DCS 760. In order to download my files I have to manually click a button. It would be nice if I could shoot between 6 to 10 images and have them download automatically. However, this is not a huge problem as the download via firewire is relatively fast. Each image takes about 3.5 seconds to download on my MBP.
I also learned about the application Automator. I am not sure exactly how I will use Automator in my workflow but the capabilities seem fascinating. I plan to spend more time in the future exploring this tool.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think that I might just ask Kodak for the binary data for Camera Manager and attempt to update the driver. If I am successful it will be a great learning experience and I will make it available to anyone needing it for free.
    Happy New Years everyone!

  • How do i get delta updates for xcode

Why are xcode updates so big are there no delta updates like osx

The downloads used be much larger. People complained.
Now, you can choose to download components and documents after the install, which will at least spread things out over time.
Remember that Xcode is an IDE - one that is tightly controlled across many levels, requiring consolidation to work properly.

  • Update safari, xcode, iphoto company apple ID

I have a new macbook pro and need to update aps like safari, iphoto and xcode.
The problem, its a company computer and these apps find they are registered to the company apple ID. Is there any way I can get ownership, or update these without the use of the company appleID and pasword?
xcode? do I really need to uninstall it, and reinstall with my own appleID?
iphoto? Should I uninstall this and buy it again for $20? Although it does come with the original install for free?
    Safari? ...
    Thanks for answers
    MWH

How can I post screenshots; I would like to show you that if I want to update Safari, it does ask me for an apple ID wich is not my own. The statement "so you don't need an Apple ID to update it to the most recent version" is great, but not what my computer does. Sorry

  • Have updated to XCode 5.0.2 but clang still on 4.1

    Hi,
I have updated XCode from the app store to 5.0.2 but if I enter clang --version at the command line I get the following
Apple clang version 4.1 (tags/Apple/clang-421.11.65) (based on LLVM 3.1svn)
    Target: x86_64-apple-darwin12.5.0
    Thread model: posix
From what I understand the latest version of clang should be newer, is that correct?
    Thanks
    Andy

Do you have Mavericks? Things are different on Mavericks.

  • GCC and Gfortran update in Xcode 3.0

    Hi:
I was wondering will XCode 3.0 incorporate in an integrated manner both Fortran G95, and GCC 4.3.0? Currently, there are some independent options available, but it's very non-consistent since you're putting separate programs together when compiling code that has both C/C++ and Fortran components.
    Thanks.

My belief is that people who know that kind of thing aren't allowed to post it here. I hear that some of the Apple sponsored mailing lists are more likely to have this kind of info.

  • Will I be able to work on my  Xcode 5 projects after updating to Xcode 6 ?

I am currently working on an xcode project (ios app), so after i upgrade from mavericks to Yosemite ,
will i be able to work on the same projects on Xcode 6  ?
    Thanks

There should be provisions to migrate Xcode 5 projects to Xcode 6 just as in the past when going from say Xcode  4 to Xcode 5, etc.

Nothing should be lost... However... it is both Prudent and Recommended that a backup should have been created and maintained.

  • Xcode updates not caching in Caching Server - non-whitelisted url denied.

I am running OS X Server 2.2.1 - Build 169.  (Mountain Lion).  I have the caching service enabled and it appears to have been working successfully - as I can see that updates from Apple are coming from my server when applied to multiple Macs.
There is a new update to XCode 4.6.3 that I have been applying to my Macs - and I am noticing that it is re-downloading from Apple each time - instead of using the cache.
If I look at the Caching Service log - I see an error for each time that I have applied the 4.6.3 update:

Is this a problem with the caching server - or are Apple's developer tools intentionally not being cached?  The log does not tell me what url is being requested.

I have this exact problem too. Interestingly, I have this on my Mini server, then I've setup a caching server on my MacBook Pro and its the same. This log is from my MacBook Pro, its called badgerbookpro.local but its the same on the Mini server. Both are runing 10.8.3

  • MacBook Pro Retina kernel panics after xcode update

I was updating my xcode to version 4.6 and it downloaded fine and when it began installing all the fans went high and the system kernal paniced and restarted. I thought it may have been a one time thing so I tried again and it did the same thing. ANy ideas? anyone else with the same issue? The system runs fine with no other issues besides that. Help!?

I did not install the downloadable from the developer site after all. It turns out to be a link to the app store...!
But, problem is solved for me:
Tonight I installed the OS X 10.8.3 update. After that i retried updateing Xcode to 4.6.1 and it worked like a charm.
I have no clue what was wrong before...

  • Xcode Update 5.1.1 issue

Upgraded to OSX 10.9.2 on Macbook Pro 17" Early 2011.  Since then, there were a number of apps that presented in the App Store for updating.  I clicked "Update All" every time, and haven't had any issues.  Just 6 days ago, 4 apps required updating, including Xcode 5.1.1 -- but it's the only one that won't really do anything.  I turned off asynchronous updating, went back, and no change in behavior: clicking the "Update" button directly just shows the busy-wheel for about 2 seconds, then re-enables the Update button.
Going onto the Apple site and looking up the Xcode app for downloading, it seems to know that Xcode is installed, and the "Install" button changes its caption to "Update".  Clicking that produces the same behavior.
I've rebooted, with no behavior change.
I ran Xcode, and it said that some dependent components needed to be installed, and I let it do so; the About shows I've got version 5.1 installed.  In the Launchpad, It still shows that there's 1 update required in App Store, and it remains Xcode 5.1.1; nothing seems to change this.
I don't want to uninstall Xcode 5.1 -- I just want it updated.

Have you been able to figure out the issue?  I'm having the same symptoms with Hotmail via Exchange, except that I'm not using an enterprise iPhone.  You mentioned that Exchange is not syncing, but that Hotmail is.  How did you setup your Hotmail?  POP3?  There's an option for Hotmail via Exchange, and ever since 5.1, I cannot get Hotmail to sync correctly.  If I delete Hotmail emails from the iPhone, it syncs.  But if I delete via Hotmail web client, my iPhone doesn't delete the emails I deleted on the PC.  5.1.1 didn't fix it.  I'm hoping someone has a clue as to what's going on here.

  • How to remove xcode 4.3.3 update from mountain lion Appstore

    Hello,
I moved my old xcode 4.3.1 installation from the application folder to the trash. I also deleted /Developer (prevoius xcode installations)
Now the AppStore want to update to xcode 4.3.3. But I can't update, because I installed mountain lion. For mountain lion I use xcode 4.4 and 4.5 beta's.
How can I remove this update 4.3.3 from the AppStore??
    Thanks
    Andreas

That's life. You will probably always have that Xcode in there and Lion too. The App Store keeps track of its apps. If you install something newer on your own, the App Store can't handle that. See if you can hide the purchase: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928

I have been trying to update my Xcode for a little over a month now.  Each time I try I receive an error that says "Temporarily Unavailable, Try Again Later".
I am not currently signed up as a Developer (still learning) so I cannot download directly from the Developer page.
Is there an alternate way to update?
    TIA

You should be able to download Xcode from the page linked below, but you may have to sign up for a free developer account first.
