Upgrade for HP Pavilion HDX9300 CTO Notebook PC

Good morning people!
I have one HP Pavilion HDX9300 CTO Notebook PC and have some questions:
I am wanting to upgrade my HD drive for a SSD model and increase my DDR memory.
I know my memory operates at a frequency of 667 MHz but need to know if my notebook includes an upgrade to 8GB and what would be the ideal brand of memory card to do this.
I also need models of HD 480GB SSD compatible with my notebook.

I checked out you service manual and it says the maximum amount of memory it can take is 4 GB or two 2 GB sticks.
I also went to Crucial and there memory advisor does confirm this.

Crucial also gives you a bunch of different options for an SSD as well. It says that the 512 GB SSD will work, but it is expensive. Stick with a quality brand name like Crucial or Kingston. Avoid buying from e-bay.
When it comes to memory though just because the manual says the max is 4 GB does not mean that it can take more.
You can try installing two 4 GB sticks and it may work, it won't hurt the laptop to try, but there is no guarantee that it will work.
Keep in mind too that if you're running a 32 bit operating system it won't recognise a little more then 3 GB of memory anyway.

You have to buy a new laptop or swap the system/motherboard or buy an Express card - USB 3 (I've got one) or PC card - USB 3. For desktop , this is much simpler, a PCI - USB 3 card will do.

I have purchased my laptop in the year 2010 from HP. Now i need to upgrade HP QuickWeb software .
My current version is less than 1.0. I guess we have latest version as 3 or above..

Need Windows 8 32-bit driver for Alps touchpad on HP Pavilion dv4000 CTO Notebook PC to fix scroll.

Alps touchpad cursor works fine, just need to fix gestures and scrolling.
I know it's an older laptop which came with XP Pro, but wanted to extend the life of it and everything else works fine with fresh install of 32-bit Windows 8 Pro.

i have a HP Pavilion dv6700 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC and I hook to HDMI cable and connect to tv and get no sound when attached to tv. I attach the cable get the video but no sound. I check sound and do not see anything other than the altec lansing speckers and realtek. Th altec lansings are the default. Help

Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand you are unable to produce audio through an HDMI connection. I apologize for the late response, but I will do my best to assist you. Before anything else, please answer these questions:
1. What is the current computer's operating system? Does the same behaviour occur on multiple operating systems?
2. The title seems to imply that there is no audio when connected to a television, using HDMI. Does this only occur when you connect to a television? Will it occur if you connect to something else using HDMI?
3. Have you tried connecting to a television using VGA or DVI? If so, what are the results?
As an additional suggestion, for now, I would review the television's manual to confirm that everything is correct from the television's standpoint.

2nd HDD caddy replacing optical drive for HP Pavilion 15-e073ca Notebook PC & Windows 10

Hello ! I am planning to add a SSD to my two-years-old HP Pavilion 15-e073ca Notebook PC. I found on some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter into the optical drive bay. I found that some people on the forum have done it successfully, but nothing about my PC model. I want to know if it could work with my product. In other words, there is my plan:1-Remove the actual HDD from the hard drive bay and replace it with the new SSD.2-Remove the optical drive and replace it with the caddy adapter containing my old HDD.3-Do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD, using a USB recovery flash drive made with my actual Windows 10 system (which was updated from Windows 8.1). I am planning to buy the following parts:1- a HDD / SSD caddy adapter for HP Pavilion 15 (model OBHD9-SATA-SATA-BU9), from NewmodeUS (http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=583)2- a 128 GB SSD drive (item SDSSDHP-128G), from SanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/ultra-plus/?capacity=128gb) I have some questions before buying the parts:1- Will the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) be recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows 10)? Hello. I have the HP Pavlilion dv6t-7000 with the NVIDIA GT650M 1GB grpahics card. Now because of my work, i need to extends my graphic card memory. So I want to ask if my laptop is possible to upgrade to GT650M 2GB card.
My product number is A5F74AV. And my wannary is end on 8/24/2013.
And this laptop is a gift of my aunt from USA, and I'm living in Viet Nam now. So if yes, can HP Vietnam do the upgrade for me? My aunt's family is very busy so I can't resend my laptop and ask them to return to you.

Hi:
The only way to upgrade the video card in your notebook is to replace the entire motherboard which would cost as much as buying a new notebook with better graphics.
If you had HP do the upgrade, it would probably cost more than buying 2 notebooks with better graphics than yours.

Hello mike_farhat. I understand you're looking for drivers for your G6.
Unfortunately there are no drivers available specifically for Windows 7 32-bit. However, here is a link to the drivers for Windows 7 64-bit.
Another thing you could try is to install both the HP Software Framework and HP Support Assistant. Then you can run HP Support Assistant and the application will scan your PC and automatically download and install any drivers which are available.

Any 2.5 inch SATA form factor SSD will work and I recommend a Samsung Evo 850.

There is a link to all the available sizes on the page. I would recommend at least a 256 and 500s are pretty affordable these days.
Where do you live? Country only, please. I have heard that HP Service Centers will perform memory and SSD upgrades on these "closed" systems but I am not sure where all of them are located or what they would charge. You should be able to find a competent local computer shop to do it. It does put the warranty in jeopardy but the warranty will not be revoked if the job is done properly, without damage to the laptop.

HI My Dv7 2040us has an ATI Radeon 4650 video card. I want to run some new games and I need at least 4860 to run them. I was looking around and it seems I need to get a new card and install it directly to my motherboard. Hi:
The only way you can upgrade the video in your notebook is to replace the entire motherboard with one that has a better video solution.
However, when you look at chapter 3 of the service manual at the link below, you are already at the top of the mark regarding what video chip is on the available motherboards.

So, you will either have to live with the status quo or buy a new notebook.

Video Card and PSU upgrade for HP pavilion p6310y?

Hello,
I am a mild gamer and I would like to upgrade my video card so I could play games like minecraft and maplestory without my frame rate dropping every 5-10 min. When this happens it sounds like the fan in my computer is working really hard and the game is almost unplayable. I also play a few games from steam such as Gmod and Borderlands, however the games that seem less graphic intensive give me more problems.
Should I and am I able to upgrade the video card and psu for this HP pavilion p6310y? or possibly get a better card for these game without upgrading psu?
Processor is Quade core AMD Athlon II X4 630 / 2.8 GHz
6gigs of ram
1 tb harddrive
NVIDIA GeForce 9100
300 watt power supply

Yuo might try updating the video driver from the NVIDIA web site.
Your PC has a 300 watt power supply. If you don't need DirectX 11 (used for better detail in newer games), then the NVIDIA GT 240 1GB or 512 MB DDR5 is about tops for a 300 watt power supply.

Another video card/PSU upgrade for HP Pavilion p6565uk

Hi there
I want to upgrade from the basic Nvidia card and 300W psu provided with my HP Pavilion P6565UK, purchased a few months ago.
I am looking at either a Corsair CX 600W or an Antec HCG-750W, I am not sure if there is a difference, and an EVGA Nvidia superclocked GTX550Ti card.
I am however really not technically minded and I am not sure how to go about making sure that these products will be suitable before I purchase them.
I have 3D gaming in mind (I have a 120hz screen) as I am a Warcraft player.
Hope someone can help point me in the right direction or hold my hand as I am hopeless with stuff like this!

You might have issues getting the Antec HCG-750W to fit. Do some measuring and see it will fit, particularly the distance between the power supply and the optical drive. I have see where PSUs of 750 and greater have failed to work in some HP PC's.
Go with the Corsair CX600 or the CX500.
I noticed that EVGA has lowered the PSU requirements for some video cards. Look at this information for the 550 TI superclocked.
