Upgrade MySQL and Tomcat for BO

Hi All,
Because of the policy of my company. All products have to update the lasted patch. I have install BOE with MySQL and Tomcat come with BO. Now I have to upgrade them. I have tried to upgrade MySQL but after install finish MySQL server cannot start any more... and for Tomcat I don't know how to upgrade it because it was coming with the service was integrated with BO Central Configuration Manager.
Any hint for this task?

Was this ever answered? I am confronted with the same issue and am finding need for concise instructions on how to complete the upgrades. Could SAP have made this aspect any more difficult??

Hi,
I downloaded and installed both JWSDP 1.5 and Tomcat for jwsdp.
I set the variables JWSDP_HOME,JAVA_HOME,CATALINA_HOME,ANT_HOME as usual.
But, when I launch "catalina.sh run" I have the seguent warning....

I'm seeing the same issue on my system.
Redhat 9.0
JDK 1.5.0_01
JWSDP 1.5
TOMCAT 5 for JWSDP
Did a complete system wipe and reinstall and have the same issues.
Did you get any responses, or discover a solution?

I have read several threads, and others are having this problem but the resolutions do not seem to be posted or are different than what I am having. Hopefully someone can help me figure out...

I created a META-INF folder in my app, and then created a file called context.xml which contained the same code as I had in my server.xml file.
In the documentation http://localhost:8080/tomcat-docs/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html#Common%20Problems
it says that you can use global naming instead of context. Didn't work with global naming but it did work with context. No idea why, just know that it did.

Upgrade capability and limits for my MacBook...

I have an old MacBook (1,1) with 2 GHz Intel Duo / 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM / OS 10.4.11. What version can I upgrade to (Leopard) in order to use newer iPods and iTunes (10)? Also, where can I purchase the OS disc? Does anyone know if FileMakerPro 6.0v4 works okay with Leopard? Thanks ahead of time...

I don't know about FileMaker 6 so it might be best to contact their support.

ANN: Upgrade Lorem and More for Dreamweaver CS5

My Lorem and More extension, which inserts Lorem ipsum and other filler text into Dreamweaver pages, can cause Dreamweaver CS5 to crash in certain circumstances.
I have updated the extension to make it compatible with CS5. If you use Lorem and More, please download the updated version (1.3.0) from http://foundationphp.com/tools/index.php.
It's a free extension, and the new version is backwards compatible with all versions of Dreamweaver (apart from really ancient ones).

Works intermittently in:
DW CS5.5. (Version 11.5 Build 5344. Windows 7. Lorem and More 1.3.0.)
DW CS4 (Version 10.0 Build 4117. Windows XP Pro. Lorem and More 1.3.0.)

It works fine IF:
I open a file, go immediately to Insert | Lorem & More | choose any combination of Type, Format and Amount and click OK;
I open a file, click anywhere in the file or move the cursor with the keyboard arrow keys and then choose Insert | Lorem.... (etc)
BUT, if I type any keyboard character, number, Enter, Space or Backspace, then Lorem & More will NOT work.
If I then close the file, reopen it and try Lorem & More again without first typing anything in the file, it will work.
EDIT: just discovered that it will work again if I give the focus to something outside of the Document window (for example, click on a file or folder name in the Files panel, launch Help, click in the CSS Styles panel or Properties panel), then repeat the Insert | Lorem... steps. Also, it works if I click on something outside the Document window, then click again in the Document window. So:
Type anything in the document
Insert | Lorem....
= FAIL
Type anything in the document
Click somewhere else in Dreamweaver to remove the focus from the Document window
Insert | Lorem...
= WIN
Type anything in the document
Click somewhere else in Dreamweaver to remove the focus from the Document window
Click back in the Document window where you want to insert the lorem ipsum

= WIN

Can I dispute an upgrade date and ask for research?

One phone on my account has an upgrade date that seems too far in the future. This is an iPhone 4s, and Verizon is saying it is not upgradable until late 2016. It was replaced once by Asurion after a broken screen, and this accident occurred in 2014. But that shouldn't have had the effect of extending the upgrade date. Is there a way I can get Verizon to put this into research?

There has been no borrowing of upgrades from one phone to another, but far in the past, not recently enough to push out the upgrade date on [removed] so far in the future.
I went to the VZW store in Mansfield, MA yesterday. A clerk there researched it to the extent of his ability to do so inside the store. He said he felt it happened during a change of billing plan in August 2014, but he saw no legitimate reason it would push-out the upgrade date. Indeed, my own phone [removed] was part of the same billing changeover and the push-out did not happen. He said that he viewed it as mistake but it was not within his power to change it.

Upgraded Battery and Sleeve for new X61s?

Hey Experts,
I just received my new X61s. Do you guys have any suggestions as to a better battery or a protective sleeve that I should purchase? I'd like to carry the laptop back and forth to class in my messenger bag with my books, and I'd prefer not to have to carry an additional laptop bag.
I'm not sure which battery came with the computer. I can only seem to find two numbers that may help the savvy identify it:

The old charger works fine btw (just that it has a small section of exposed wire).
I'll give it one more try with the SMC reset and if that doesn't work I'll probably send them back.

Problem launching a jsp page with eclipse and tomcat

Hi,
I have just started using eclipse and tomcat for creating dynamic web pages. I tried to launch a jsp page after starting the tomcat server with the URL: http://locahost:8080/HelloWorld/, an error page was displayed as below:

message /_
description The requested resource (-) is not available
Apache Tomcat/5.5.17
I didn't get any error at the console and when i just typed http://localhost, a pop up menu saying that the connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost.
I'm not sure what is the problem here. Could it be the permssion to the localhost is not granted by the system as the eclipse IDE is running using linux?

Upgraded iTunes and Quicktime now whole puter not working

I just upgraded iTunes and Quicktime for OSX 10.4, now after a restart i finder just keeps flashing, on and off and i cant open anything. Need help to fix or go bak to old versions?

I try to repair disk anyway but says the same thing on trying to do that?? any suggestions anyone?
Could i get the update for 10.4.8 and put on a disk to upgrade the OS from booting from the CD or from terminal mode? Does anyone think this could fix the prob?

Flash and PHP for login status

Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to read my question.
I currently have a login utility that is the front end of a multi page site. The individual logs in and is then granted access to what ever their "authorization level" is.
I wish to have my Flash website, request the users "authorization level" from our PHP server side script.
I have already constructed a three page timeline, where depending on their "authorization level", they will be forwarded to the page that's matches that level however I'm having a heck of time finding a reasonable place to start.
I have included a visual map of what i'm looking to accomplish as I've always found it easier to see what's being discussed.
Again, thanks in advance for anyone that might be able to help. Additonally, i have attached the image to assist with review as well.

You will need to send variables to PHP which will in turn send it to MySQL and check for the authorization level and then send back the result to Flash via PHP... I have a very general idea of this whole thing so I won't be able to help you much (I'm still a beginner in AS3), but you can check these places for some good video tutorials on the subject:

Problem debugging web application in tomcat for jwsdp

Hi everybody!
I have the following problem:
I have a web application with jsp's and servlets and using IDEA Intellij and tomcat for jwsdp when i run the debugger i get the next message:
Check your run/debug configuration. Failed to establish connection to the target VM at
'127.0.0.1:3505' using socket transport
That problem don't occour me with other version of tomcat but i need the version for jswdp because i use other web application with web services.
Somebody know how my problem can be solved?

I struggled with this for awhile until I found the following entry in an IntelliJ forum:
You have to use zipped Tomcat distribution, it contains the necessary batch startup scripts.

Using the zipped version of Tomcat solved my problem.

CORBA and TOMCAT

Please recommend good examples for deploy the CORBA and TOMCAT for the test purpose. I.e. How to deploy the CORBA and develop a client file to test the CORBA works locally and remotely. Same function for TOMCAT. Thanks!

The port number has nothing to do with JSP. That's the default used by your web server.
When your web server is Ready For Prime Time, edit the file $CATALINA_HOME/conf/server.xml. Search for all instances of the text "8080" (there's only 1 or 2) and change them each to "80". That's the default port number for a web server.
Then restart Tomcat. If you're on a UNIX system, you'll have to start it as the "root" user, since only the super-user can run programs that listen to ports under 1024. I don't know if WinNT or Win2K have similar restrictions, but Win95/98/ME should be fine.

Jsp import package error after upgrading to jdk1.4.2_08 and tomcat 5.0

I am trying to upgrade the jdk and tomcat from 1.3/3.3 to 1.4/5.0.
My jsp imports worked fine prior to the upgrade, but now I get the following:

The package in the import statement "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.*" actually has no classes in it. The classes are contained in "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.controller.*". If I change the import statement everything works. The problem is that I have 100s of jsps. If there is a work-around outside of changing the import statements, that would be best.

do you know what url is being looked up? the message is complaining that the url is starting with the string "an]", which seems pretty bogus.
