Upgrade R12.1.1 to R12.1.3 disconnects with no errors

We are on 11.2.0.3 database on HP-UX
Apps have just been upgraded from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.1 ok
We have applied 9239089 and are now applying 9239090.
The patch 9239090 (12.1.3)  runs for about 2 hours successfully, but then disconnects for no apparent reason.
No errors in worker files, patch log files, db alert log files and syslog files, it just stops, doesnt update ad_bugs or have any of the messages indicating it has completed.
It always seems to bomb at the same point, here are the last few lines of the logfile:
STOP_TASK: [Compile invalid objects in DB] [] [Wed Jul 10 2013 15:26:28]
STRT_TASK: [Get final list of invalid objects in DB] [] [Wed Jul 10 2013 15:26:28]
Number of invalid objects: 107
Getting list of invalid objects in APPS schema.
Has anyone seen this before?  We have a SR open, but they havent been much help so far.  We have run utlrp mutliple times the invalids stay the same.
Anyone encountered this or have any suggestions on how to diagnose?
Thanks

0xC1900101-0x20017 I could not successfully upgrade from windows update, nor from the straight download site.   The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation.  I see w10 bios updates for other models.  Has anyone been successful in upgrading to W10 from W8?

  • Hi,  i installed an upgrade for itunes on my windows computer it came with a error message of msvcr80.dll

    Hi
I installed a upgrade of itunes on my windows computer
It came up with error message of msvcr80.dll     I went to repair and to reinstall itunes   but this didnt fix it
    Please help me

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:
Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

  • After upgrading to Mountain Lion, Interface builder starts up with an error every boot.

I've got a late 2008 Macbook Unibody 13", and a few months back I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.  Ever since the upgrade, at every boot up Interface Builder starts up with an error.  I've just ignored it mostly, but now I'm getting annoyed with it.  How can I find the programs that start up every boot to research this, or stop it from loading Interface Builder every time?

You have to delete it using the minus sign at the bottom. The check/un-check is for hiding items.

    netca from $ORACLE_HOME/bin.
24- Edit /etc/oratab and add the following line PROD:/oracle/apps/prod/db/tech_st/10.2.0:N otherwise DBUA will not find the old DB
25- MANDATORY STEP: Copy the initPROD.ora file from Linux Patches to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
26- copy new DB oraInst.loc to etc cp $ORACLE_HOME/oraInst.loc /etc/oraInst.loc
26- Upgrade the Database Using the Database Upgrade Assistant from 11gR1 database and follow the steps
run dbua to start the Database Upgrade Assistant
The upgrade failes in the post-upgrade steps were it's creating the control file for the new database (during the DBUA i have specifed that i need to move DB files to a new location) with the error ORA-01166: file number 288 is larger than MAXDATAFILES (100) ORA-01110: data file 288: '$ORACLE_HOME/apps_st/data/PROD/system10.dbf'
I have checked DB_FILES in initPROD.ora and it's 512 I also checked the MAXDATAFILES in the control file from source 10g DB and it's 512 (i used alter database backup controfile to trace to get the maxdatafiles value)
Any ideas how to fix this issue?
    Appreciate your help.
    Mohammed Tammous

Create a sql script file create_controlfile.sql. Open a trace log, and find something similar to:
    show sqlprompt
    set sqlprompt 'SQL>'
Create controlfile reuse set database "INSTANCE_NAME"

    Athish,
Please run utlrp.sql and utlirp.sql scripts as per (R12.1.1 - Invalid Objects After Patching [ID 1093163.1]).
For some of the errors, looks like you have custom code, so please check with your development team to review/fix the code.
    Thanks,

  • OracleApps HRMS-R12.1.3 Integration with MS Active Directory (win 2008 R2)

    Dear Friends,
we are using Oracle Apps R12.1.3 and the Microsoft Active Directory : Windows 2008 R2
    we have the following requirement:
(1)From Oracle Apps to Active Directory.
-Employee master information needs to be interfaced to Active Directory on a regular interval which should be updated in the active directory.
(2)From Active Directory to Oracle system.
-Whenever new email address for an employee is created in Active directory, the information needs to flow to Oracle HRMS.
Please let us know the method to achieve with minimal latest oracle softwares?
can it be done over coding from oracle apps without new softwares?
Is Oracle Apps R12.1.3 certified with Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory?

Upon upgrading iPhoto, iPhoto Help no longer works.  It gives the error message:  "The selected topic is currently unavailable. To see all iPhoto Help, you must be connected to the Internet."   I am obviously connected to the internet since you are reading this.
I tried upgrading permissions but it did not help!?  Can anyone tell me what is wrong?  Thanks

    Try
Reboot the computer, see if that fixes it.
    Then try:
Backup your files off the computer (not TimeMachine) and disconnect
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk and simply reinstalling OS X
Log in and update to 10.6.8
c boot off the 10.6 disk again and use Disk Utility >Repair Disk
reboot and all should be fine, except some third party programs that install kext files, those will have to be reinstalled from fresh sources.

Have you also upgraded your 9iAS instance to 1.0.2.2? The WPG_SESSION API error commonly appears when you are not using the lastest version of mod_plsql contained in 1.0.2.2.
See: Migration Guide for Oracle9iAS Solaris or NT/2000.

Hi user12128153 (a real name would be nice),
    a few questions for you.
Do you experience the same errors with firefox? If so install firebug (if you don't have it already) and see if the errors have to do with missing css etc.
What application server do you use, OHS/Apex Listener etc?

  • After upgrading HANA from rev. 69.1 to rev.72 OOM errors occure during HDB startup

    Hello,
we upgraded our HANA scale out system from rev. 69.1 to rev. 72.
~4 hours after the upgrade our HDB crashed with OOM errors on  the master indexserver.
Since than we are trying to start it back up and face OOM errors during startup in the index rebuild phase:
The errors clearly state the HANA runs out of allocatable memory for Pool/IndexRebuildAllocator during startup.
It looks like HANA requires more memory during this phase compared to rev. 69.1
Our Master node has 512GB of physical memory and the Allocation limit is set to 95% of this (default).
Here is what we read from our logs during startup:

In order to fix this bottleneck, we first need to get HDB started, but how?
Is there a way to aviod that row store tables are being loaded during startup? (this would allow enough memory for the index rebuild)
Is there a way to skip the index rebuild during startup?
Can we increase the allocation limit to more than 95% of the physical memory? (e.g. we could configure swap space to be utilized, just to get over the edge of this during the startup in order to bring our HDB back up and work on reducing the memory requirement on the master index server)
    Kind Regards
    Florian Wittmann
ps. we also have a call with SAP.

To update everyone who runs into the same issue during startup of HANA, here is the solution that has worked for us. But I highly recommend to have such an approach reviewed by SAP service before I you perform this!
For us the only chance left to bring HANA up was to configure swap space on the master node. (We configured 20GB...we could not know how much memory it would need during the startup to get passed the index rebuild, so that was just a guess that turned out to be just enough for us to get passed that memory peak during the startup phase).
After that we adjusted the custom parameter file /sapmnt/<SID>/global/hdb/custom/config/global.ini
and maintained a global_allocation_limit that we manually calculated as (512GB physical mem. + 20GB swap mem.)/0.95
    e.g.
    [memorymanager]
    global_allocation_limit=517530
Than we started HANA up again and made use of the page file during the index rebuild in the startup phase...of course this dramatically slows down the startup...well you do an index reorg using swap space...but after 1hour we got passed the index rebuild and memory utilization went down again. (With this error we learned that HANA has a significantly higher memory consumption during startup and the upgrade from SP 6 to SP 7 must have even increased this slightly, since we managed to startup our HANA db before upgrading without this issue, but it was not the root cause!)
Now that we had HANA back up, we investigated memory consuming indices together with SAP, and with the help of below query, we identified row store table RSMONMESS to hold 25GB of 2ndary indices!
    select table_name, round((sum(index_size)) / 1024 / 1024, 2) as
SIZE_IN_MB, count(*) as number_of_indexes from M_RS_INDEXES group by
    table_name order by SIZE_IN_MB desc
    Before droping 2ndary indices:
    TABLE_NAME;SIZE_IN_MB;NUMBER_OF_INDEXES
    RSMONMESS;30.883,8;6
    drop index SAP<SID>."RSMONMESS~AXX";
    drop index SAP<SID>."RSMONMESS~TIM";
    drop index SAP<SID>."RSMONMESS~AU1";
    drop index SAP<SID>."RSMONMESS~RID";
    drop index SAP<SID>."RSMONMESS~AXY";
    After drop:
    TABLE_NAME;SIZE_IN_MB;NUMBER_OF_INDEXES
    RSMONMESS;5.708,43;1
With that change we reset our custom parameter on global_allocation_limit and went back to the default (95% of main physical mem.), removed the swap file and started up HANA again...and during this startup we managed to stay in our global_allocation_limit and bring HANA back up again!

Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

    If you want.
or maybe install Snow Leopard using the disc it came on with my Mac and just set it up from a Time Machine Backup on my external hard drive (since it works under SL)?
Did you install Lion on an empty partition, or did you upgrade Snow Leopard?  If you upgraded, I'd not recommend erasing it, since your backups are apparently gone.  It's doubtful Snow Leopard will recognize them.
It's not just backups on the drive either, there are other important things on there, so why won't they show?
Mixing Time Machine backups and other data is not a good idea.  See #3 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  It sounds like the whole disk is corrupted.
I just really don't understand how this happened. Could it not be an issue with WD because they haven't issued firmware to support Lion yet?
If this is a simple external HD, connected by USB or FireWire, no, unless you installed some of WD's software on it.  That shouldn't prevent it from being seen at all, but anything's possible.
