  • RFC call to spda_get_stack_info failed.

    Hi All,
When carry out the system upgrade from 47x200 to 701 EHP4 SR1,
has a error in get stack info in the preparation step.
    From windows 2003 x32 MSsql 2000 upgrade to windows 2008 R2 and MS sql 2008 R2.
Error message set: 'RFC call to spda_get_stack_info failed with key
    RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE (SYSTEM_FAILURE): Error ST_MATCH_FAIL occured.
    P1=element-start P2=sp-stacks P3= P4=element-start P5=SMSDXML P6='
    Thanks.

    Hello,
this error is happening because you're using an old version of SAPup and/or an old version of the Upgrade FIX file. Please make sure you're running the very last version of these files and repeat the process from the beggining.
Also the file ../EPS/in/SMSDXML.xml is actually not the XML file you want to use, it is a for R/3 release with
SAP_BASIS 4.x, the EHP stack configuration for start releses 6.20 and higher, these text files do not match anymore.
This can contribute for EHP_INCLUSION phase failing. Have you renamed it? It usually is a long file name, for example: SMSDXML_EP1_20111002154601.221.xml. Please make sure you or someone have not made manual changes in this xml.
    I hope this information helps.
    Best regards,
    Tomas Black

  • Itanium: Rfc call for SXMI_XMB_SYSLOG_READ fails Error INVALID_DATE_TIME

I have a distributed NetWeaver 2004S Environment: Main SAP Instance and Database are located in a CST Time Zone on the same machine. A dialog SAP instance, installed on an HP-UX Itanium Host, is located in a PST Time Zone, but, the system clock set for CST time - 2 hours behind the main SAP instance host system clock time.
My application is installed on the HP-UX Itanium Host and connects to the local (dialog) SAP instance, and makes RFC library calls to collect data. For Syslog data, the RfcCallReceive call is made to function SXMI_XMB_SYSLOG_READ with all the required input parameters.  This call succeeds for the first time, but, fails all subsequent times if the call is repeated at 1 minute interval. Following error message is returned:
    gid:105 key:INVALID_DATE_TIME
The date times on start and stop times are correct - they match very well with the system clock time.
Now, if I increase the repetition interval from 1 minute to 5 minute, the Rfc call to the function SXMI_XMB_SYSLOG_READ  succeeds for the repeated calls.
Please note that the Rfc application was compiled on an HP PA-RISC development machine, and, uses ARIES emulator to run on HP Itanium Host.
There is another piece of information I can provide here if that helps: I am able to make 1 minute spaced repeated Rfc call to  SXMI_XMB_SYSLOG_READ function with success on a PA-RISC dialog instance of another SAP deployment that has the main SAP instance plus database on one machine in a CST time zone, and, the dialog SAP instance hosting the application on PA-RISC host on a different machine, but, in the same CST time zone.

    Hi Manoj,
The Application and the dialog instance are on the same machine - HP-UX IA64. This is what TZ has on this host
    TZ=CST6CDT
How do I synchronize the application and the SAP dialog instance  - they are located on the same physical machine?
The main instance and the database are on another machine - SunOS5.10 sparc. This is what TZ has on that host
    TZ=US/Central
The date on HP-UX IA64 (dialog instance) is
    date
    Fri Nov 21 13:13:35 CST 2008
The date on SunOS5.10 sparc (Main Instance + Database) is
    date
    Fri Nov 21 13:13:35 CST 2008
Please note that the dialog instance and the main instance are located geographically in PST and CST time zones - being 2 hours apart.
I appreciate very much your effort. Looking forward to the follow-up.
    Thanks

  • "Call to SQLExecDirect failed with %1"

Cross post from Windows Server 2008 Forums (MSFT Suggestion).  Original Post:
I am trying to set up Perfmon to log directly to a SQL 2008 Server
(trying to avoid binary file + relog).  The SQL server is running
locally on the same server I am trying to record perf counters from.
Note that I am NOT using SQL 2008's data collection features, and I am
trying to log non-sql related counters.
    I set up a SQL 2008
Native Client System DSN with Windows Authentication, but when I try
and start my data collecter set I get an error message  that "Call to
SQLExecDirect failed with %1", and the in event viewer I get "Call to
SQLExecDirect failed with .".  The set is running as System, which has
rights to the database.  SQL does not log any errors or a failed logon
    attempt.
The ODBC DNS 'Test' button says it connected successfully, and I am
able to connect to the same database via Management Studio and ASP.Net.  I don't think its a SQL problem, but its hard to say when the error message is blank.
Any help fixing this, or ruling out SQL as the problem, would be appreciated.
    Joe

Trying to figure this out, I dumped a binary log and tried using relog.
I get "Error: A SQL failure occurred. Check the application event log for any errors."  It does create the three tables in the SQL database, so it is connecting with a sucessful logon.  Checking the app log, I see "Call to SQLExecDirect failed with Ȁ."  The raw view has "02000x800000000000007433Application<ServerFQDN>Ȁ0000".
This is a Server 2008 box connecting to a local SQL 2008 server using a System DSN with the SQL 2008 Native Client provider.

  • Post Upgrade to R2: Task Sequence Fails with 0x80070057

one SCCM 2012 server for a while now (June/July of 2013) and have had no issues with OSD's and software deployments.  Today I decided to upgrade to R2 from CU3 and I thought the upgrade process went really well.  But after the upgrade
I attempted to perform an OSD & it failed with error 0x80070057 before the Task Sequence selection.
I had that problem ages ago when I first started using SCCM, but that was due to a missing boundary group.  I got that straightened out in June/July of 2013 and, OSD's & software deployments have been working fine since.
All the boundary groups are still defined
All the boundaries are still defined
The specific boundary this machine is in has a site system defined
The specific boundary group this machine is in has both an assigned site as well as a site system server defined

Could this be an IIS problem?

I've had problems after the R2 upgrade and had to reinstall PXE/WDS on Distribution Point to resolve.

  • RFC Call through BSP - Issue with RFC logon credentials

    Hi everyone,
I have an BSP application running on a 6.40 which calls a RFC function module on a backend system (4.6c) using a trusted RFC connection.
The BSP is started with an URL which contains in encoded form the username and password. So we don't use the standard sap-username & sap-password.
In the first step the user is logged in with the anonym user (user type 'service') which is entered in the SICF. So sy-uname = 'anonym'.
After a couple of checks and verifications the BSP makes a user switch using 'SUSR_INTERNET_USERSWITCH'. Exporting parameters are the now decoded values from the URL. So after the switch sy-uname is e.g.  'blabla'.
Now a function module on the backend system is called. What I would now expect is that on the backend system sy-uname is also 'blabla'. But it isn't. The sy-uname is still 'anonym', which isn't very helpful regarding object authority checks.
Only after an reload of the BSP page and a second RFC call of the function module the sy-uname = 'blabla'.
I wonder what causes this problem?
Thanks for your replies & regards
    Kruno

    Hi,
    I solved it.
Before I execute function 'SUSR_INTERNET_USERSWITCH' I first check if user has a valid backend account by using function module 'BAPI_USER_EXISTENCE_CHECK'.
And this is the problem. When 'BAPI_USER_EXISTENCE_CHECK' is executed once all other RFC function calls to the backend get the wrong user.
Why? I don't know yet. Maybe I will get an useful anwer from an OSS note.

  • HT201442 Manual upgrade of iPad2 (A1396) is failing with 3194

    Hello,
I tried to update my iPad2 from iOS 5.0.1 (9A405) to iOS 7.0.4 manually, I downloaded the restore file for A1396 and ran a manual update, but the installation is failing with 3194 error. Using latest iTunes (11.1.4.62) & iTunes is also allowed in firewall settings (Symantec Endpoint protection). I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad i5 Win 7 64 bit for connecting to my iPad2. Once I could see the error details that was sent to Apple - it had some log message that some hash code is not matching. Did anyone come across similar situation/ error? Any help will be highly appreciated, thanks.
    Regards

    Hello,
I could grab the error text - apologies for posting such a large text. Any idea why I'm getting below problem?

    Hello,
I opened a SR yesterday afternoon, still pending.
I'm doing an upgrade Single Installation, yestersay I try again, do exactly the same things and the step failed at the Automatic Storage Management Configuration Assistant with the same error INS-20802
    But the log file says

In the upgrade with asmca step by step, it says that doing a stop/start of has can resolve the issue but not here.
    I keep searching.

  • Call to SQLExecDirectW fails with Oracle

    Hello Gentlemen
I am trying to extract data from an Oracle database through an ODBC connection using the standard ODBC functions. These work perfectly well for SQL Server. But with Oracle, SQLExecDirectW fails to execute a simple query (that works fine with SQL Server).
    With Oracle:
    o Handle is allocated OK.
o It connects OK through the handle.
o The connection returns an expanded connection string. It returns the right version number.
So all is cool so far. But when I call SQLExecDirectW, the execution fails, but not on return status. Although the return status is success, the number of rows processed is 0. (With SQL Server, where it works, this number is 1.)
I have tried to get the SQL state by calling SQLGetDiagRec, but this is not set. (Probably because it SQLExecDirectW returned a success.)
I have tried replacing SQLExecDirectW with the more basic SQLExecDirect, and this also fails.
    Any ideas gentlemen?
    All the best,
    Lew.

This is now resolved. Oracle does not return the number of rows processed, but SQL Server seems to. A routine that had that check in is now removed.

  • Debug RFC called from external system with no dialog user

    Hi all,
We need to debug the rfc function module which is called from the external system( Siebel ) .
The user id is not dialog user so can not set external debugger.
    Need you help.
    Thanks,
    Anmol.

    Hi Suhas,
Nice to know you became Moderator...
Hmmm the solution you provided was the last option..
Any ways the issue is resolved we changed the user to dialog user and then debugged the code.
    Thanks a Lot,
    Anmol.

  • RFC call failing due to UNICODE implementation

    Hi
We are trying to connect to a SAP system using the JCO (SAP-JAVA Connectivity). We are passing the user name as an input parameter and in turn the SAP system send back the no. of item (ABAP Type integer) pending for the user name to the java and its inserted/updated in Oracle DB (which does accept the unicode characters).
It was all wokring fine untill the SAP system has been migrated to Unicode upgrade. Now the RFC call is getting failed from our system. On analysis we found with debug, that the user name is not getting accepted by the SAP system and throwing the error -says Exception in thread "main" com.sap.aii.proxy.framework.core.BaseProxyException: Conversion error between two character sets., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE and at the SAP end the error says "Conversion of "UNAME" from code page 4103 to 4102 is failed". The unicode change in SAP system cannot be reverted back due to some constraints.
Can you please help, how can we pass the user name as encoded in character set 4102 or any other solution so that it can be accepted by SAP and run the Function module and return the data.
    Many Thanks
    Snehil Joshi

Check RFC destination in Tx SM59. You must have one tab for unicode settings.
    Regards.

  • After-Delete Resource Action Fails with "the authenticity of host  ..." Err

I created two Resource Actions (see below for format used). Both actions are being referenced in an Shell Script resource adapter (RA) that's used to create/delete a home directory on a Sun Solaris box. The RA also performs other setup/cleanup activities. The After-Create resource action call to ssh works. The After-Delete resource action call to ssh fails with the following error:

By the way, we are currently using Sun Identity Manager 7.0.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    You've probably already fixed it...
Just log on in the console yourself, instead of IdM. After answering yes, key fingerprint will be added to the ~/.ssh/known_hosts, and IdM will be happy.

  • TM Backup failed with error: 11 -  when copying Movie, image, music files

TM giving backup errors (for a long time unsolved until I read forum entry about monitoring events with Console prog.) Recently upgraded from 10.5.4 to 10.5.6 with Combo package (attempts at upgrade to 10.5.5 failed with "unknown error")
I narrowed down to the file types listed by excluding relevant erring folders. TM backup works OK now but without Movies, Photos, Music and small number of applications that appear to fail mainly on copying an image within appl.
Using Console with "backupd" filter on LOG FILES/system.log (while executing TM backup) gives the following 4 samples of errors:

Regardless if this is a general problem or not, does anyone know of any documentation/release notes for common/generic TM error codes? That would be helpful.
Yeah, many of us would love it! But no such thing exists, at least not that us mere mortals can find.
There might be another variable that I don't understand right now but at least it is consistent.
Could it be something funky in the name of one of the folders? Or could the folder object itself be corrupt? Or have some odd extended attribute?
All I can suggest is calling AppleCare, and/or reporting it as a bug:
