Upgraded 3GS phone to 4.1.2, now ringer goes on and off intermittently.

Is anyone else having this problem? I upgraded my 3GS phone, per iTunes prodding, to 4.1.2 Now the phone buzzes intermittently and I see the icon displayed for the "ringer on" and "ringer off". It doesn't do it because of any particular thing that happens, it just buzzes, whether I'm actively using it or not. Everything else seems OK. ATT is my service provider, and has no information on it.
Advice?

I had this same problem, but mine was from the actual button on the side being used too much and wearing out. It was too touchy, all i had to do was set the phone down and it would start to vibrate. nothing I could do about it!

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

Reset the device:

Wifi goes on and off, backlit keyboard doesn't work and no sound since Lion upgrade. I can get the wifi back by going into safe mode and re booting(someone suggested on here), but can't let computer die or turn off or have to do it again.

My Wifi connection goes off if computer dies or shuts off, I can only make it work if I go into safe mode and reboot, it was just that, but now my keyboard doesn't light up like it's supposed to in low or no light and in system preferences it's like it doesn't exist. Also, the sound doesn't work, I can't turn it up or down, it shows the sound icon grayed out and the anti symbol when I push F11 and F12, also it's like it doesn't exist in system preferences either. I have never had any problems with my MB Pro, I purchased in Feb. 2010. , but I upgraded to Lion last month, I haven't been using my laptop as much since I had an Ipad I given to me, so I think that's why I didn't notice these issues right away. What do I do? HELP!! Do I take it to Apple? I don't have the Apple care warranty, so will it be expensive for them to fix? Can I get my money back for Lion if I restore to Snow Leopard?

Take it to an Apple store or AASP. How much it will cost will depend on their determination of the problems. To bad you didn't purchase extended AppleCare. No you don't get your money back for purchasing Lion.

Need help Phone signal going on and off

I need help with my Z3, I just installed the new update (23.0.1.A.5.77) and the phone signal won't connect. It keeps fluctuating off and on. It was working perfectly fine before the update. I even did a reset but its still the same.

Did you by chance try simply removing the SIM card from the handset for around 30 seconds and putting it back in and restarting.
This could be a simple communications issue with the SIM.

How do I activate a mobile phone when say a level in lookout goes high and sets off alarm.

I require to alert a user to an alarm condition both by web and mobile phone. I am not using a network just standalone PC

If you're using a standalone PC, then you can send SMS messages to cell phones using the ASCII Object when an alarm occurs. You'll connect a modem to your Lookout PC and use the ASCII Object.
You'll need to implement the SMS protocol in the ASCII Object.
I am not sure how you can update a web page from a stanalone PC tho'.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

I have three lines on a share everything plan. Two smart phones and one basic phone. The only line eligible for upgrade is the basic phone line. So, I went to a local VZW store today not only to pay my bill but to see about upgrading the line with the basic phone. You were told wrong. The only difference will be a $40 line fee instead of the $30 line fee, and you may consider increasing the data pool if you are adding another smartphone to the mix. But there is no reason at all why you would HAVE to put a basic phone on that line. The rep was wrong.

Tried to upgrade my phone online using Loyalty Discount - Online sales Rep no help

I tried to upgrade my phone online to take advantage of the online discount and also use a loyalty discount. The price of the phone is correct until it I get to checkout, the loyalty discount is then removed and only the online discount is applied. I IM the online sales rep, but the person was of no help, telling me that all discounts had been applied. After about 15 to 20 minutes of trying to explain that the loyaly discount was being removed at checkout, I just gave up and cancelled the order.
I later tried it again, only to have the same problem and the same result from the online sales rep.
What good is a loyaly discount if you can't use it?
I am not sure if this is by design or if there is a glitch in the site, but the sales rep could not see my loyalty discount on my account and could not explain why this was happening.
Do I need to go to a store to take advantage of the loyalty discount?

It may depend on the type of store you go to. Corporate stores are different from third-party retailers (who often carry cell products other than Verizon as well). I would say call the specific store you plan to go to and ask before you go.
