Upgraded to nvidia-310.19, but I need nvidia-304xx
I can't seem to install the legacy drivers because of too many dependencies on nvidia and nvidia-utils. How can I get the legacy drivers installed without removing a ton of other programs? Will everything still work with the 304xx drivers?

Which specific error do you get?
Which packages require nvidia and/or nvidia-utils?
According to https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/nvidia/, nothing needs nvidia.
According to https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extr … idia-utils, nvidia-utils is needed only indirectly for libgl.
Since nvidia-304xx-utils provides libgl, it should be no problem and everything should work with the legacy drivers.
Edit: too late

I upgraded from 1 to 4 but I need a 2 or 3 to work with certain programs and plugins
I have Version 4 but I absolutely need 2 or 3 to work with SEO Quake and No Follow Plugin
I lost my bookmark tags too
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you.....I have a new MacThose are Extensions as Plugins refer to say Java, Flash and such.
The SEO Quake is said to be compatible with Firefox 4.0 according to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/seoquake-seo-extension/
Not sure what No Follow extension you are referring to as NoDoFollow is said to be compatible with Firefox 3.6.* https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nodofollow/ but the author has not updated it since 2008.
If you must downgrade then try Firefox 3.6.16 which is found at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html -
hi,
I had OS 10.5.8 and I did upgrade it to snow Leopard, later after a year or so my mac has crushed where I forced to reinstall the original OS 10.5.8. now How can I upgrade to mountain Lion or at least to retreive my Snow Leopard? You need to use the Snow Leopard DVD to upgrade your computer. If you can't find that, phone the online Apple Store and order a new one.

Hi all, I upgraded my MBP to Lion , but on the screen where i need to type my password, click on my photo and it does not appear the place for me to type my password and it stay stuck there. Can anyone solve this problem for me?
Reboot the machine holding Command and r keys down, you'll boot into Lion Recovery Partition
In there will be Disk Utility, use that to select your Lion OS X Partition and Repair Permissions.
After that is done reboot the machine and see if you can log in.
If not repeat the above steps to get into Lion Recovery, get online and reinstall Lion again, it will overwrite the installed version and hopefully after that it wil work.
Reboot and try again.
If not follow my steps to create a Snow Leopard Data Recovery drive, then option boot from it and grab a copy of your files off the machine.
Then reinstall all your programs onto the external drive like setting up a new machine, then use Disk Utility to erase the entire internal boot drive (select the drive media on the far left, not the partiton slightly indented) format Option: GUID , 1 partition OS X Extended and then use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external to the newly formatted internal drive. Once that is finished reboot and disconnect the external drive.
Once you go that, boot into Snow Leopard and update to 10.6.8, use the AppStore and option click on Purchases and download Lion again and install.
Lots of work, but there is no Lion disks.

I upgraded my Iphone to IOS6, but now I can't connect it to itunes (10.6.3) because it is not upgraded. However, when I want to upgraded, it says that my computer (imac Mac OS 10.5.8) needs to be upgraded to another version. I can't find anything to help me out.
You need iTunes 10.7 or later.
To get this, you need Mac OS 10.6.8 or later.
You can get 10.6 Snow Leopard here -> http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard -
I can't update my iPhoto 8.1.2, everything says I need to upgrade to 9.0 first - but i can't find 9.0. I upgraded to mac ios 10.9.3 but I'm trying to use iphots in icloud and it says my iphoto needs to be updated first. I just can't figure out how to update it.
This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks. It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1: every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2: If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.5.1

I'm using 10.6.8 but would like to use iCloud so need to upgrade to 10.7.4 but need to install 10.7 before I can upgrade to 10.7.4. Where can I find 10.7.0?
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The latest OS X version is OS X 10.8.3, so first check that you can use OS X Mountain Lion. First, check that your Mac supports Mountain Lion > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If it's compatible, open the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. While it's being downloaded, make a backup of your files and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
When the download finishes, the OS X installer will appear, so follow the steps. After upgrading, you will have 10.8.3.
If your Mac isn't compatible with Mountain Lion, check that you can run Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949 If you can run OS X Lion, call Apple to purchase it > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 After upgrading to Lion, you will have 10.7.5.
To set up iCloud after upgrading, open System Preferences > iCloud. Read > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup -

I have a new downloaded OS X now my Iphoto version 8.2 needs upgrading I downloaded 9.3 but I cant use it as I need a minimum of 9.1 how do I do this ?
You can purchase the newest version of iPhoto on the Mac app store. Cost (in US dollars) is $14.99.
It sounds like you downloaded an iPhoto update to take version 9.1 up to 9.3. You can't use it with version 8.x.
Best of luck. -
my iphoto wont open since i updated my mac, please help? it says i need to install an iphoto library upgrader which I have installed but still cant see my photos.
What version of iPhoto are you using? 9.6 is the current version.
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Using 2006 iMac running Mac OS 10.6.8.
My iTunes App (11.3.1) will not launch.
Upgraded to iTunes (11.4) but problem persists.
Need help.I have no answers for ya, but I do have the same problem, so we are not alone in this.
My iTunes stopped working after I did a couple of software updates that got my iTunes up to v. 11.4. Since that update, I can't get iTunes to open at all, neither from my dock nor from the Applications menu.
I'm wondering: Perhaps these latest iTunes updates are simply too advanced for my 10.6.8 operating system? If that's the case, how can I backtrack to an earlier version of iTunes that is compatible with my computer OS?
Any thoughts?
