Uploading/Exporting to Picasa

I'm running Tiger. Back before my HD crashed, my IPhoto program, now 6.06 [322], showed an option to upload to Picasa. After getting a new HD, I recently started iPhoto, imported some pictures from my camera and tried to export them to Picasa, but there was no option to do that.
Is there some update I am missing? How can I get that Picasa option back?
Thanks!

You get it back by re-installing the Picasa plug-in that was installed. Google make it, so, erm, google it

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 13 not uploading/exporting to YouTube or computer

I have posted 2 videos to YouTube both by exporting them into an MP4 file and then manually uploading it to YouTube. For some reason after editing my 3rd video, it all the sudden seems to not be working. I've tried exporting and uploading to YouTube through APE 13. This is very frustrating and I need this problem fixed ASAP. This is definitely disrupting my flow on my YouTube channel. I have tried uploading/exporting more than once along with restarting the program and my computer. I do not know what else to do. I appreciate any help I can get.

Please be advised that I'm very new to PE 13 but have been computing a very long number of years and didn't expect to have a problem with simple saving to youtube from PE.
I have previously uploaded one file to YouTube with no problems.
The error message after a 98% run is a online error, but sorry I can't remember complete message.
I've only ever used Publish and Share with mp4 presets. The first and only one previous was 15 mins long with no trouble at all in uploading.
    Doesn't even get to YouTube.
Content has only ever been video.
I've tried another computer but same results and both are Apple Mac's
The duration is just over 10 mins
I've had success with burning to Disc enabling a file save.
Seems I'm not the only one with this problem.
Why first file uploaded to YouTube and I cannot upload now is baffling me.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated believe me.
With many thanks for your welcome reply.

  • EXIF data lost when edited and exported to Picasa web

I use iPhoto 6. If a geotagged photo is scaled and exported to Picasa web, then the EXIF data are preserved and recognized by Picasa web. But if the same photo is edited (crop, contrast...) and then exported to Picasa web, then the EXIF data don't appear. I've tried the export operation manually and through the plugin, but it always happens the same. How to avoid this? Does it happen too with iPhoto 8? Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Yes and no. With iPhoto 8 you can export with an option to include the keywords, titles and comments. But I don't know if geotags are included. Ask in the iPhoto 8 forum as I know geotags have been discussed there. Do a search in that forum for "geotags" or similar.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Uploading exported Excel file to Google Docs

I exported a spreadsheet as an Excel .xls file, but Google won't let me upload it giving me an error:
We're sorry, but we were unable to upload this document.
If you have the desktop word processor installed on this computer, there are two other easy ways to bring the file into Google Docs:
    Using the Clipboard
Open the document in the desktop word processor.
Type ⌘-A to select the contents of the entire document.
Type ⌘-C to copy it to the clipboard.
In Google Docs, create a new document.
When the Edit window appears, type ⌘-V to paste it in.
    Save as HTML
Open the document in the desktop word processor.
    Choose File > Save As...
In the dialog that appears, select Web Page (*.htm; *.html) for the "Save as type."
Save the file, and make a note of the file name and folder, as you'll need it next.
In Google Docs, choose Upload again from the main page.
This time, specify the html file you just made in the desktop word processor.
Using either of these approaches, you should now have the document open in Google Docs.

    Anyone else have this problem?
It seems Google doesn't like the Excel version that Numbers exports. The file will open fine in Excel and if I re-save it from Excel it will upload no problem to Google Docs.

  • HT4847 i took a video on my iphone and it doesn't show up after i do icloud back up in picasa or in my photostream.  how can i move it to my photostream so i can upload it onto picasa?

I back up to icloud and normally when i open picasa my photostream automatically uploads.  however the videos i took with  my iphone dont show up in photostream so i cant get them into picasa nor can i move them manually to photostream and they are too large to message or email.

You can only locate, lock or erase your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

  • Uploading Images to Picasa - they appear lighter

When I upload images from Aperture to Picasa the images on Picasa appear to be somewhat lighter than the original in Aperture. The photos on Picasa appear to be overexpoxed by about 0.5 EV.
I save my images in Aperture in RAW format. Can the conversion from RAW to JPG by Picasa be the issue?
iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   Apeture images are in RAW format

Do the images look the same in Firefox/Camino and Safari? Except for Safari (and its close relatives Omniweb and Shiira) no other current browser on any operating system is color-managed.
In non-color-managed applications photos will look different from computer to computer. Your best bet is to present the photos in a format that is close to the average calibration of monitors. sRGB is considered to be that for Windows PCs, for Mac systems using default factory settings you would need to use a variation of sRGB that uses a gamma of 1.8 (not sure if such a variation even exists) or calibrate the monitor using a gamma of 2.2. Or best use Safari which by virtue of being color-managed takes care of these differences.
To get really consistent results you should calibrate and profile your monitor using a hardware calibration device.

  • How to upload photos to picasa web directly from ipad

does anyone know how can I upload photos that I transferred to my ipad using the camera kit, to picasa web directly from ipad?

  • Uploading photos to Picasa

I have a Motorola Droid and have not been able to figure out how to upload photos to my computer.  Step by step would really help as I am not real "tech savvy" about this.
Thanks - Old Guy from KY

Hi.  I understand that you want to upload your pictures to your computer.  I will be happy to tell you how to upload your pictures to Picasa (since I use it all the time)
    Here are the steps
Select a photo from your gallery or take a picture using the Camera app.
From the menu, select Share > Picasa. Sign into your Google Account for Picasa Web Albums if necessary.
Enter a caption and/or album for the picture and select Upload.
Please let me know if this works for you.
    Thanks!

  • How to get iphoto upload automatically like picasa

I want iphoto to recognize the pictures automatically like what Picasa does when putting the pictures together in a file or whatsoever. Is that doable?  It is annoying to actually import the pictures when opening iphoto rather than letting it be automatically done just like Picasa does.
    Let me know thanks!!
    Crystar16

It doesn't do that. You can set up a watched folder system with Folder Actions and Automator or Apple Script.

  • Uploading edited photos from Lightroom to Picasa

Hi I have recently purchased Lightroom 4. I have edited my photos and saved them as JPEG. I exported them to my computer and wanted to select some for my Picasa web album. I have never resized previously and uploaded full size as I thought they are my back up if I lost everything here. Anyway when I tried to upload to Picasa it said the image was too large. Some were around 3-4MB which i thought was ok?
    Help please!!
    Thanks in advance =)

Actually, I just took a quick look on some Google help pages, and I may have got the size thing slightly wrong - it seems that the 2048 long edge is specifically for Google+, not Picasa:
    "Automatic resizing
All photos uploaded in Google+ will be automatically resized to 2048 pixels (on their longest edge) and won't count towards your free storage quota.
All photos uploaded from the Picasa software or in Picasa Web Albums over the free size limit will count towards your 1 GB of free storage. When you reach your storage limit, any new photos you upload larger than the free size limit will be automatically resized to 2048 pixels (on their longest edge)."
As I tend to use Google+, I just went for the 2048 size as I prefer to do my own re-sizing prior to upload rather than rely on someone else to do it. Therefore, the implication is that you an upload full-size files to Picasa Web, but that there's a finite limit on how many such images you could store on there. Perhaps you're hitting that limit if you already have a lot on there?
In the export dialogue, you'll see a section on image size, and you can choose the "long edge" option and then enter the max size in pixels (make sure you pick pixels, not inches, cm, etc). Sorry I can't be more specific, but I don;t have LR available right now so can't check for the exact terminology used in the interface, but I'm sure you can find it.

  • No Aperture to Picasa Web Albums uploader?

I have just 'upgraded' to Aperture from iPhoto and there seems to be no way to upload photos to from within Aperture directly to Picasa Web Albums. (Like I can in iPhoto with the plugin)
I tried to look for the plugin similar to that for iPhoto which supports exporting to Picasa Web Albums from iPhoto and found that a company called Übermind had developed a plugin for Aperture but stopped releasing it a month or so ago and have stopped development of it altogether.
However, I feel like I am the only person in this situation so surely I'm doing something wrong?
I would greatly appreciate any pointers.

The Aperture Picasa Plug-in recently has been discontinued, but try the Free softpedia downloads. The External mirror-2 r30 on this site http://mac.softpedia.com/progDownload/Aperture-Picasa-Plugin-Download-50358.html still seems to be working, but hurry to get it ..

  • Is there any way that we upload the photos to our Picasa web albums?

    Hi
thakn you for reading my post.
    Which web albums Loghtroom supports?
for example does it support picassa web album or flickr?
if it is not supported out of the box is there some plugins that can ease uploading photo to picasa web album?
I am considering moving to lightroom but i should be assured that it has some sort of support for picasa web albums.
    Thanks

Put a Pointer/Alias to the uploader in Export Actions. See Export Actions FAQ at

  • How do I export photos from iPhoto to Picasa web albums?

I have my photos stored on iPhoto, but can no longer export them to my Picasa (Google+) web albums.
Apple have removed the upload option to Picasa from within iPhoto, and Google's uploader software most online forums talk about is no longer available, so I'm stuck!
    Many thanks!

You can export from iPhoto to the FInder and upload from there.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
BTW: Apple removed nothing. They updated their application to 64 bit and Google haven't bothered to update their plug-in in years. Why they haven't is something you'll need to ask them.
