Ups/serial converter/imac connection problem

I have an intel core2 imac running OS X 10.6.8
The UPS is a Mecer Offline ME1000 with WinPower 3.6.0.3 for Mac OS 10.x
Then I have a serial converter Mecer AP1103 with drivers installed.
The UPS RS232 is connected to my converter and then to the mac via USB.
Under Network settings I can see USB-Serial Controller D 2 but have no idea on how to set it up!
I think that's where the issue lies.
Lost, please help!

Yes, Network Settings shows the serial controller - quite sure.
It can also be seen under System Profiler.

  • Personal HotSpot (iPhone) - iMac connection problems

    Hi,
I'm connecting to the internet via Wifi with my iPhone hotspot (AT&T). It works fine with my MacBook - with my new iMac (Lion), it keeps losing the connection. Sometimes it's stable, sometimes it's disconnected every minute.
Network Diagnostics lets me pick my iPhone under Networks (mostly. Sometimes it doesn't show it as a choice, even though my MacBook is still connected fine), then says "Network change detected" (even though I haven't changed anything, and other connections still work), I have to put in my password, again "Network change detected", then it says "your connection appears to be working correctly", and it does. Until one minute later, same process.
Sometimes not even Network d. works, and I have to shut off the hotspot at my phone, turn back on, then go through the process. Other times it keeps saying the device is out of range or it's a connection time-out, when my phone is actually right next to my computer, and, once more, my macbook which is further away works fine.
I have these problems whether or not my MacBook is connected to the Hotspot, too, or not. Connecting the iPhone to the iMac for ethernet isn't an option for nowPers, because iTunes keeps deleting my playlists (whole other problem I'm working on:)
I don't think it's AT&T's fault since it works with all other devices for most of the time. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
    Thanks so much.

Hi, I just made a video on youtube about how to get it, watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV1y4F_DlHU&list=UUeDpPW8hcc3YpCmV8daiUlw
To enable it, copy the APN details and paste them into the personal hotspot APN under the Cellular network menu. watch the video for more.

  • New Mac convert- iMac G5 Problem

I converted over to Mac just two months ago. I purchased an iMac G5 20" with 1gb ram and final cut express hd preinstalled from the factory. About a week ago after waking my iMac from sleep mode the computer froze. When I restarted it, it would not move from the gray screen with the spining wheel. I took it to the Genius bar and the guy there was able to fix the OS with disk warrior and then do an archive and install. He said that it should work ok, but that there was a chance it could freeze up again, not sure why though.
So after taking it home for one day the computer once again locked up at the startup. So I decided that since I have backed up my music files, i would do a erase and install and take it back to factory specs.
Heres the new problem. My iMac takes much much longer to boot up, sometimes 5 to 8 minutes. When I to to system preferrences and click on the .Mac icon my computer locks up and show the mulitcolor pinwheel cursor. It also does this on the iPod opitons when I click on the contacts and calendars sections. And at times safari and/or iTunes takes awhile to start up. Can anyone help?

I'd do a PRAM reset. Here's the instructions.

If that doesn't do it reset the PMU. Here's some more instructions.

  • Not Converted : Free-hand SQL connection problem

While converting a Free Hand SQL report from Desktop Intelligence to Web Intelligence report in BI XI 3.1, I am faced with the problem
    Not Converted : <REPNAME> - Free-hand SQL connection problem
It is be noted that there are some other Free Hand SQL Reports, that go converted and published without any error. The subject report has two Data Providers; one referring to the Universe and other from the Free Hand SQL tagged to a DB Connection

    Ajay,
Some more points that can be of consideration to you to help understand my problems.
The conversion from DeskI to WebI is in the same version BI XI 3.1 and not to BI 4.0 in which Free Hand SQLs is not supported.
I have converted one other Free Hand SQL Report with an error "Partially Converted : <REPNAME2> - Conditional or permanent Hide Header not available in Web Intelligence", for which I had to edit the report in InfoView and un-tick the "Show When Empty" property of the table ( http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?t=197157&view=next&sid=e6840aafa2d1267c66dae164d1dbf9db ). I think the solution mentioned in this link does not meet the purpose as the table is not displayed in the design time after the above untick.
Coming back to our issue, further probing into this aspect I stumbled upon this link meant for RCT for BI 4.0 version
    https://csdwportal.dhhs.state.nc.us/downloads/Business%20Objects%20XI%20R4.0%20Docs/SAP%20BusinessObjects%20Report%20Con…
where in Section 3.4.9, there is a mention of the limitation in conversion as under
"Conversion of reports with free-hand SQL or stored procedures is only possible in Connected mode, since the Report Conversion Tool needs to use the secured connection to the database that is saved in the CMS."
I want to how the secured connection to the database in REPNAME2 is different from the subject report REPNAME1 as REPNAME2 got partially converted. The error reported for Subject report is "Free Hand SQL Connection Problem" and not conversion problem which can occur after the connection is established.
I did check the security properties of various FHSQL connections in the CMC and all of them are identical in nature.
    Please advise

  • Intel iMac airport connection problems

    Hello,
My new intel iMac connected up to my 802.11g 3come wireless modem/router fine, the strength in excellent (always full or nearly full) but the connection is very very intermittent.
It will only work for a minute or so but then the internet will go down on the machine for about 30 seconds, then come back on.
The network file sharing also goes down. Other Windows PCs on the network do not have this problem.
I have tried the following, none has had any effect:
[*]Turning off all other network PCs
[*]Disabling all encryption on the router
    [*]Using different browsers
[*]Calling Apple support - first they asked me to adjust some networking options, we also setup a new network connection. They then sent me a replacement iMac - it's exactly the same
The firmware is up-to-date on the router.
I am aware there are similar posts in the forum, but other people's problems seem to be to do with their speed. None of the solutions have helped.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your support.
    Davood

I wasted hours and hours trying to figure out a similar problem with my machine. Apple Support denied all knowledge of known issues, but then I came across a discussion titled "Will Apple react to the Airport problem with the new iMac (Intel C2D)?" - you will find it on the 5th page (at the moment) of these topics.
It is one of the largest threads I have seen in these forums (113 replies). I tried to add an update, but curiously the thread is now locked - Apple are obviously keen to censor further discussion on the subject.
Apple do now acknowledge that there is a problem with Airport and the Intel-based Macs. They are supposedly working on a fix, but when that will come is not clear.
I would urge everyone with Airport issues to pester Apple Support until they solve this problem.

  • Imac internet connection problem (says connected, won't load any website)

I cant begin to express the incredible amount of frustration I have had with trying to get a fully loaded Imac 2011 connected to the internet.  I am currently residing in Dakar Senegal, using Sonatel Orange as a service.
I am on a network where EVERY SINGLE piece of gear connected to it works 100%, including my ipad, cell phone, Asus PC. I have no connection issues and as of now typing this message on the very same network that the IMAC appears to have a problem.
I have called tech support and they walked me through several steps which resolved nothing so I am hoping the community can help me.
Whether I connect to my router directly with an ethernet cable, or use the wireless to connect, it give me green lights, says its connected to the isp but not to the internet.  Obviously the internet works on this network or I would not be sending this message from my PC.
DNS was the same as the router and the same as the one on my PC.  I even tried 8.8.8.8 and that did not resolve the issue.  Like I said it says connected to the ISP but the internet and server lights are red on the IMAC diagnostic tool.  Everytime I try to connect the IMAC to the internet via the router via wireless or the ethernet cable, It does nothing, and actually I have to reboot the router to get it to work for the PC or any other device.  Its as if the IMAC does something to the router and requires a reboot to reset it.
IT is DHCP enabled, thus not a PPPOE connection.
If I cannot get this resolved, I will be boxing up a $2500 machine and sending it back to apple.  I cannot believe that I buy a practically fully loaded apple for the first time, and cant connect to the internet.  I will go back to PCs and not look back if this does not get resolved.  2500 bucks is WAY to much to have internet connection issues.

Sorry to hear about your connection problem, you have a great computer but sometimes small things can cause a major problem.  Did you check your firewall, make sure it is not blocking traffic.  Click on system preference>security & privacy then click the firewall tab.  If it is on then turn it off and see if you can connect. I would also reset the SMC   As a last check open your network utility and take a look at the status of your network card and link status.

There are two iMacs connected through same router in my house but one refuses to login to facebook and other logged in sites. Local techies are bemused, I have just reinstalled OSX and still have the problem. Login page recycles, I get no further and no errors reported. Safari, Opera and Firefox. Deleted cookies and chain but still no action.

If you have not already done so, read the router's user manual troubleshooting section and/or contact its customer service department/forums.
If still having problems, post back w/details of all you have tried to resolve the problems along w/the troubleshooting solutions that the "local techies" had you try.

    Dear All,
My iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi Serial Number: DM*******184; Problem: can not connect Wi-Fi, just keep connecting...
    Appreciate your advice.
    Thanks and regards,
    Linh Hua
    (Vietnam)

Is this happening with one particular network or with all?  Make sure iOS is updated on the device.
    Try this:
Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.
Go to settings, Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.
    Reset Network Settings
Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.
If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).
If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer support website for downloads and instructions).

  • New 27" iMac: AIRPORT & BlueTooth Connection Problems

    Hi There,
My 24" Intel Imac (C2D) has been replaced with new 27" iMac.
The problems mentioned below did not exist on the 24", However, I have real wireless
    connection problems with the new 27";
    1. AIRPORT: 27" iMac will not create Network (Computer to Computer) therefore I am unable to connect my iPhone 3G to its WiFi Network (some iPhone Apps - require WiFi)
    2. BLUETOOTH: Although the 27" Imac is paired with my iPhone 3G - it will not connect iPhone to
Bluetooth..... BT options for both iPhone and iMac are ON and set as Discoverable.
(Note: Apple Wireless Keyboard & Apple Magic Mouse are both connected)
It seems as though Apple have changed procedure for actioning the above on these new 27" iMacs,
however they have not documented what is required to make it happen..... OR its a bug in 10.6.2 ??
If anyone has similar problems or knows of a workaround - all comments and advice would be much appreciated.
NB: This 27"iMac has no problems joining with an Airport Network (Airport Extreme Module) which then allows the iPhone 3G to also connect to that (for WiFi) But, that would seem to be an awkward and unnecessary proceedure ??
I'm baffled - there seems to be something missing (in OS Software or Procedure)

    Sound like some strange issues.
    1. AIRPORT: 27" iMac will not create Network (Computer to Computer) therefore I am unable to connect my iPhone 3G to its WiFi Network (some iPhone Apps - require WiFi)
So you don't have a wireless network that you normally use?

Bluetooth..... BT options for both iPhone and iMac are ON and set as Discoverable.

Are you saying that the iMac is using Bluetooth to connect to the keyboard and mouse but can't connect via Bluetooth to the iPhone?

  • Unending connectivity problems -- and Desktop Help...

I'm wasting so much time on connectivity problems that it's positively wearying. Prior to the installation of BT Infinity here in April, I had a low quality broadband service because of the length of the line from the exchange: if I could get a download speed of 1.2Mbps and an upload of a quarter of that, I was doing well.
BT advised that thanks to fibre optic, my Internet should run much faster. So we had Infinity installed. I'm registered with Speedtest.net so am able to see my performance record.
The average download speed is now aroun d 6Mbps and the average upload, more than that at 7Mbps. How an upload speed can consistently be faster than a download escapes me.
But I'm not familiar with the ways of Internet connectivity and try as a I might, can't get my head around it.
This desktop computer runs Vista OS. Vista was **bleep** when it came out and is renowned for its botched handling of Internet connections. So I'm not blaming BT for the literally unending connectivity problems that are occurring now, with line drops, speeds slowing to a crawl, and no guarantee that any connection will last. But it would be good to actually use BT software to help fathom out what's going wrong here, and today's typical morning which looks like this:
    1) Boot up computer. Automatic connection to hub via Netgear USB wireless adapter. Hub is on ground floor of this 3-storey property but signal strength from hub  is excellent, as confirmed by inSSIDer monitoring, currently showing 54 with no other networks anywhere near that figure.
    2) Perhaps 5 minutes after connection established, it's then lost. 'Local Only' is displayed. This is, apparently, a known Vista problem. But Microsoft has issued a fix for it. I know this, because it took 100 hours of ploughin g the Net to find out that MS had finally admitted to one more Vista screw-up. I've used the Microsoft router "fix it" before and it didn't work ("failed to process") so uninstalled it and have DL'd it again now and run it. This time it says it has fixed everything.
    3) Computer is re-booted to make the fix effective. Computer connects to Internet. Speedtest.net check yet again confirms that upload speed is faster than download speed.
    4) Connection dies. So much for Microsoft Fix It.
    5) Windows diagnostics reports that it can re-set the IP profile (or something.) I click yes. The re-set goes through. Connectivity is restored. 10 minutes later, connectivity is lost. Just a red X in the tray. No connection of any kind, not even that daft 'Local Connection' only alert.
    6) Reboot. Yet again. BT Desktop Help was installed here and ran OK when we were using our Netgear DSG34 router. But since the change to the BT Hub, the BT program has never run at all. So-oo. . . It has been uninstalled. And then re-DL'd and re-installed. And though the installation  has been completed, clicking on 'launch' has failed to launch anything. But anyway. An hour ago, in one of the brief periods today when the Internet connection was holding up, I Revo-ed out the earlier install, DL'd BT desktop Help and re-installed it. . . and I'm still at the same stage as always, with a  Firefox browser page that's open and completely blank and has been for the past 30 minutes. The URL is:
    file:///C:/Program%20Files/BT%20Broadband%20Desktop%20Help/btbb/Start.html
Repeated page re-loading gets nowhere. Malwarebytes PRO is turned OFF to prevent any possibility of blocking and the antivirus is termporaily SUSPENDED. This PC runs on Windows standard firewall but even turning that OFF doesn't get the page to load. Copying the address into Internet Explorer in case there's a Firefox problem merely results in Firefox being opened and the same blank page running there.
    7) After all that. . . Connection lost yet again and this time, Windows cannot connect at all. It reports that the "wireless network security key is not correct". I happen to know that it is, because this is maybe the 20th time it has reported this in the past 10 days and every time I have to key in the "correct" key all over again. . . at which point Windows still says it isn't correct and cannot repair.
Turning off the computer completely, unplugging from the wall, holding in the power switch for a full minute to clear the circuits, traipsing up and dowen three flights of stairs to turn off the hub, then wait, then turn the power back onm again. . . Ah, wot fun times I'm having here with my particular versioin of Infinity (as in, an infinity of connectivcity problems.)
Summary: I seem to be being simultaneously hit with one issue after another.
I'm bewildered as to why ever since Infinity was installed here, my upload speed is generally faster than my download speed. I'm not happy with endless Internet connection failures though am thinking that Vista is playing a large part here with its "wrong security key" and unending 'Local Only / Limited Connection' failures. I do miss my Netgear router and the ability to access a fantastic help menu and re-boot directly from the desktop without having to keep going up and down three flights of sdtairs to do so (I haven't been able to find out how toe access the BT Hub remotely.)
Above all though: I'm  really tired of repeatedly trying to run freshly downloaded and installed BT Desktop Help software but getting no further than a blank page because the program has stalled.
If anyone has any advice / suggestions, other than to buy a carrier pigeon, that'd be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Thanks again to John and gg30340. Here's an update:
    1) BT Desktop Help removed completely from this computer. The uninstaller itself mopped up everything, which surprised me. But anyway.
    2) Bt Home Hub manager set up and working. Had to input serial number and create new password. All of this sounds fairly easy and would be if one had the device near the desk. But the idiots who built this property shoved the BT master socket inside the garage next to the door. Our two home computers are on the third floor. To ensure the wireless signal strength is OK, the Hub and Infinity module/device/whatever it's called are on a high shelf. It's a major job to even reach the darn things, never mind read the labels seeing as how the BT Infinity engineer was good enough to tidy up the cabling and make a very tight connection to the wall socket.
    3) I had hoped to be able to back up the Hub's settings, seeing as the software provides for Advanced Settings / System / Backup. But not on mine (Hub 3.0). All that System allows is choosing which internet clock to define the accurate time. Everything else in System is just a pattern of short lines as if trying to indicate that there's some text there but it's invisible. This is now my second encounter with BT software which, for whatever reason, isn't functioning as it should on this PC.
    4) Hub reset to factory fresh, according to BT guide.
    5) Reset appears to have achieved nothing apart from requiring the password to be popped in again. After reset, it wasn't even possible to connect to the hub manager. Internet connectivity was eventually established for all of 30 seconds and then, gone.
    6) Computer was shut down and then booted anew. Internet connectivity is still. . . dreadful. One minute everything's fine and then, literally,. the next minute a webpage won't load. Even opening the Hub Manager has taken three attempts, i.e., disconnecting from the Internet, re-connecting, failing, and trying twice more until success. Yet all the time these failures are occurring, the tray icon is showing a steady, unwavering green icon for Local and Internet access -- despite the fact, there manifestly isn't any.
    7) Speedtest. net tests are actually showing upload and download 'trajectories' going slower and slower and finally halting at some point on the arc, then after a period of up to 30 seconds, suddenly becoming animated again. Speed test results with broadband speed checker UK and Think Broadband's checker are so at variance with one another, and with Speedtest, net, that it seems all three are using different technologies in pursuit of the same thing. Either way, upload speeds continue to be much, much faster than download speeds, a state of affairs I certainly have never encountered before.
    8) Speedtest net tests taken in the past 10 minutes, with one test following on from its predecessor, begin at 8.24 down/8.88 up, followed by 5.24 down / 6.40 up, followed by a mind-numbingly lonnnnng 0.62 down / 8.70 up -- in other words, a continuous yo-yoin g of Internet connectivity to the pooint that it actually might as well not even be here (I've had to make five attempts just to get on to this forum. . .)
    9) BT Speedtest will necessitate disconnection of everything downstairs and all boxes being lugged up here. This is actually going to require uncoililng tied-off cabling and hanging off a stepladder to do so -- though I surely can't be the only person in Britain who doesn't have a nice, handy BT master socket in their study or lounge. That said though: until we switched to Infinity, we *never* experienced these kinds of horrendous connectivity problems and never had need to unplug the Netgear router downstairs and bring it upstairs to connect directly to tjhe desktop PC so BT's own test could be run.
I'll just have to get to work dismantling stuff tomorrow. However, I have to say that after a factory re-set which has changed nothing at all, I'm beginning to think there's a problem with the BT line itself (hence why I'm happy to follow the advice here, though less than happy at the prospect of the messing about involved.)
Thanks, you two, for your patient help, and also for clarifying the situation re the three signal paths being shown on inSSIDer. At least I know that's usual now! And now, hopefully, when I press 'Post', I won't be faced with an endlessly spinning Firefox circle culminating in  what may well be, or seem to be, the 57,938th time today of seeing "Page Not Found". . .

  • When trying to work with Agilent 34401A multimeter (serial RS-232 connection), HP34401A Getting Started.vi gives always the message: "Error 1073807369 occurred at Old VISA Open ".

  • I receive a not connected to the internet message several times daily on my iMac connected via airport to a time capsule which accesses the internet via cable modem.. When I input my password to enter network preferences, the connection re-establishes.

I receive a "not connected to the internet message" several times daily on my iMac connected via airport to a time capsule which accesses the internet via a cable modem. Software/firmware is up to date on the iMac (OSX 10.6.8)  and Tme Capsule(7.5.2). Browser is Safari 5.1.
When I input my password at the prompt to enter network preferences, all the lights go green (ie... ethernet, ISP etc.) and the connection re-establishes immediately and states "the connection appears to be working normally".
It more of a nuisance than anything and seems to have started ocurring over the past couple of months. I also have a windows XP box also connected to the same cable modem that I never have internet connectivity issues with. I've verified all the physical aspects of the connections and can't see any evidence of any actual drops in the modem logs. I suspect it is just an intermittent communication loss between the Imac and the Time Capsule, but I am not very familiar with Mac equipment yet.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem and what you did (if anything) to resolve it?
    Thanks.

The AirPort Express will connect to your existing wireless network if the network is using WPA2 Personal or WPA/WPA2 Personal wireless security settings.
So, it can join the network as a client and then provide an Ethernet signal to your Time Capsule.
Be sure to configure the Time Capsule to operate in Bridge Mode so that it will be operating on the same network.

  • OfficeJet wireless connection problems

I am hoping someone can help me as I have exhausted every option I can find.
I bought an OfficeJet 6830 All in one printer. I have several devices that need access to it.
My desktop Dell uses a USB cable to connect to the printer and it works well.
I have three laptops that I would like to connect wirelessly to the printer, but I can't get any of them to identify the printer.
I can install the printer using a USB cable, so I know the software and drivers will install.
When I set up the printer, I set up the wireless connection. The printer attaches to my Actiontec router (FiOS) and I can log into the router to see the device. It shows it as active. The blue light on the front panel of the printer is on and solid. I can check the settings in the printer and it shows the correct SSID and correct format for an IP address. I have set it up as a static address in the router and manually set it in the printer.
The problem occurs when I try to install the software on the laptops. I get to the point wher I specify the connection as Wireless and the software attempts to find the printer, but it never finds it. I have tried manually typing in the address for the printer, but this does not help with discovery.
I even tried installing the drivers and software using the USB cable which was successful. I then tried to convert the connection from USB to Wireless, but I don't think the software was waiting long enough for the printer to establish an IP address, because it would show a panel that stated the printer was connected to the network but waiting on an IP address. I would select Wait for the printer to establish an IP address, but even after the printer's blue light stopped flashing and stayed solid, the software still cannot find the printer.
Anyone have further suggestions I might try to get it connected to my laptop?
I would hate to ship back the printer, but if I can't print wirelessly, then I need to find a better printer
    Thanks.
    Update:
I found the Actiontec article and reread it twice before noticing that AES encryption was needed rather than the TKIP/AES I was using. I changed it to AES and I was able to install the software and get the printer to communicate with the laptop over the wireless connection.
Unfortunately, it didn't last very long as it is again refusing to communicate between the laptop and printer.
Does anyone have a clue what's going wrong?
    Thanks

    Hi blbower,
Well, by the sounds of things we may have our work cut out for us.
Let's start off right frm square one.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please remove the usb cable from the Windows XP computer and from the printer and leave it disconnected until further notice.
If you have already attempted to install the software and drivers on the Windows 7 computers, please click on the following link for Uninstalling the Printer Software.  I suggest you do this for each computer so that we are starting off clean.
Once the uninstall is complete, please restart each computer so that the changes take affect.
If you have any firewalls or anti virus protection running, disable it on each and every computer.
This next link is the HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers .Please save this file on each computer to the Desktop so that it creates its own icon.
Double click the new icon and follow the instructions for the installation.
These steps will need to be done on each system.
On the printers main display, we are going to need to reset the Network Defaults so that it starts off fresh.
On the front touch panel, scroll to the right to the Setup option, go to Network set up and then to Restore Network Defaults. Press YES to make the changes.
Once it has been reset, go to the Network Setup option once again and this time select Wireless Set up Wizard.  Once this is complete you will then see an IP address that you can add to each computer on the portion where it asks for a connection option in the installation.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
Thanks once again for your time.
    Cheers,

  • Usb to serial converter console access on aironet 1131

I am having difficulty accessing the console port utilizing a usb to serial converter. My settings are 9600, 8,n,1 and flow control is none.
The converter works if I use it for switches and router but fails on the aironet.
I can access the aironet if I go directly to the serial port.

    Hi,
I haven't seen this problem except when I chose the incorrect COM port in my terminal emulator. Otherwise, usb-to-serial cables haven't presented any issues with Aironet equipment.
Sorry I couldn't help further. Maybe someone else has seen this issue.

    Hi Turgut,
How I see and change this server user ?  As scenario is R/3>PI>MDM.
You need to look into your receiver Communication channel in Integration Directory (Integration Builder) where you have settings for defining MDM Server, Repository , Repository User and Password , Port Code of the Outbound MDM port etc.
Please find the below link to check settings for  Setting Up Inbound Messaging into MDM.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/48/9854884d3217cee10000000a421937/content.htm
There is no Server User ID but it is Repository User and Password along with other parameters in Communication channel.
Note: Make Sure that your MDM Import Server is also running.
