Urgent :RKF restricted on a KF

Hi,
CAn somebody please tell me how can i get the following format in my report.
__________________SALES >100+________SALES<100&>50__________SALES<50
___________________no of docs _________ no of docs_______________no of docs
sales rep
Here SALES and no of docs are Key figures and SALES REP is a charcateristic.
Please Kindly help.. Revert if u have any vague idea also..

in rows include Sales Rep.
now include bothkeyfigures in the columns and hide it.
now create formula, and in formula details include this formula (sales > 100)*(no. of docu).
repeat the same procedure for all.

I coded that in variable exit. Problem is when I include these in
restrickted keyfigure My query does not return me any data.

charaterstics I see the variable is getting populated.
Also in RSRT the SQl generated when these are included in RKF is not
correct.
I debugged and know they are getting populated. As when included in RKF
I can also see the values of customer exit variables from information
tab.
I also know that there is data in cube for those restrictions.
I posted one OSS Notes regarding this urgent issue. But got no reply from SAP.
FYI: We are using BEx 3.5 Browser SAP GUI 6.4 Patch 20 BW Patch 11

URGENT!restrict user frm edit a field data (allow create) in apx applicatn

hi,
I have a table with 3 columns say
col1 primary key
col2
col3
i'm filling my col1 with a berfore insert trigger
i have built an apex application with a report and form page on above table.
my end user can create records through the application form page ( form page shows and allows only col2,col3 to be filled.)
once the record is created by the user, while editing the same record(by clicking the edit ICON present before that particular record)only col3 should be shown as editable in the form page to be updated by the user.
please help me out its urgent.

Hi Ajay,
When navigating from a link(edit ICON) pass a request say 'UPDATE' and:
1) Render col1 and col2 as disabled/read-only on UPDATE request.(using Dynamic Action or other ways)
(If you are disabling and doing update operation in which you are using disabled elements you have to re-enable on submit)
2) Conditionally display elements i.e. do not display col1 and col2 on UPDATE request.

URGENT: Changing Restrictions Passcode

I need help changing my restrictions password. I tried going to passwords but that only changes my password to unlock my iPod. If I don't find out soon, I will have to wipe my iPod and start over. HELP!!!

CKF, RKF or Structures locking queries in Development sytem.

Our BW environment is set up to allow "Z" and "Y" queries. When creating a "Z" or "Y" query in the dev environments if a previously transported CKF, RKF or structure is added to the query, it locks after closing. Our QEA and PEA system allows creation of a "Y" query using transported CKF, RKF or structure without the query becoming locked. (The CKF, RKF or structures remained locked). Can anyone tell me how to get the DEA system to behave like the other two systems? Or if there is an OS Note that addresses this issue?
The development system is open and the ELEM type is set to everything changeable.

CKF = Calculated Key figures, RKF = Restricted Key figures. Our "Z" queries are transported queries and "Y" queries are for temporary ad-hoc reports and can be created in the production and quality control systems.

"new selection", restricted key figure and basic key figure

Hi,
I have a test report and i have a basic keyfigure "ZRevenue" and "restricted key figure"(its defined over "ZRevenue") and
a "new selection"(its defined over "ZRevenue").
Now that i have "material number" and "material color" and "request id" in the rows. ("Material color" is a navigational attribute of material number).
In the column level i have a basic key figure "ZRevenue" and "restricted key figure"(its defined over "ZRevenue") and
a "new selection"(its defined over "ZRevenue") .
In a "restricted key figure" or "new selection", we can include a basic key figure or new formula or calculated key figure or an already restricted key figure into it, then we restrict it, with one or more characteristic values. In the report output we get KF values only for those characteristic values, with which it has been restricted. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Initially i restricted the "new selection" (with material number 1 to 3) and "restricted key figure" (with material number 1 to 4).
In the cube i have material numbers 1 to 11. Now all the values were displayed from 1 to 11, but for the
"new selection" (with material number 1 to 3) and "restricted key figure" (with material number 1 to 4) i got values only for 1 to 3 and values for 1 to 4 respectively. This is as expected and is working fine.
Now i tried to restrict the basic keyfigure "ZRevenue" with material number 1, the output was only until the material number 4 (this is the greatest value of the material number defined over the "restricted key figure").
Then i tried to restrict the "new selection" (with material number 1 to 9) , then the output was from 1 to 9 material numbers.
If i remove the restriction over the basic keyfigure "ZRevenue" , then i get all the material numbers from 1 to 11, for "new selection" i get values for the material number 1 to 9 and for "restricted key figure" i get values for the material numbers 1 to 4.
Can some one explain me why this behavior?

Hi,
This is where set theory comes in handy
So what you have is a basic KF (BKF), a selection (SEL), and an RKF.
When producing an output, BEx seems to be looking for the union of all the restrictions you place on these. So when your BKF is not restricted, the union comes out to everything in the underlying DSO. When you restrict the BKF for material number 1, this is how the restrictions might have been processed internally
BKF: Restriction on material 1
RKF: Restriction on material 1-4
SEL: Restriction on 1-3
Union of these three: 1-4
When you remove the BKF restriction and make SEL restricted to 9, this is how it plays out
BKF: NO Restriction on material
SEL: Restriction on material 1-9
RKF: Restriction on 1-4
Union of these three: everything.
As the union ends up giving you everything, you get 11 records. However, as SEL is restricted for 1-9, the SEL will have values for the materials 1-9. Likewise for RKF, you'll get values only for materials 1-4. Hope this clears things up!

Fiscal Year Period User Choice to Restrict the Balance wrt to version

Hello friend, I have a Budget Balance key fiegure. which has values for a period say 001.2007 4 Values . sum equal = 13035
Now I want to Create a Current Period Balance in Report and YTD Balance in Report
For Current Period I did this as below but it is not working

Restricted Key Figure Budget Current period
Budget Balance key fiegure
Restrict with Value Type for Budget Data = 90
Restrict with Fiscal Yr/ Period User Enter Variable say user enter 006.2007
Restrict with Version Type for Budget Data = User Choice say user enter 20
I am still not getting the correct Current Period balance in rep it always take january 2007 balance.
Now same for YTD
Restricted Key Figure Budget Current period
Budget Balance key fiegure
Restrict with Value Type for Budget Data = 90
Restrict with Offset Range January Customer Exit Variable -- Fiscal Yr/ Period User Enter Variable say user enter 006.2007 so it will be 001.2007 --006.2007
Restrict with Version Type for Budget Data = User Choice say user enter 20
I am still not getting the correct YTD Period balance in rep it always take January 2007 balance.
Please help me with the logic to work this CURRENT PERIOD BALANCE AND YTD

but is your RKF restricted to both variables?

you can remove the OR I_STEP = 3, doesn't do anything....
. make sure that 'ZVR_YTDBUD' is an interval var, NOT ready for input
. make sure that 'ZVMFISCPER' is mandatory
. I guess that you have filetered FISCPER with both variables thus it will be filtered with the signle value of 'ZVMFISCPER'; if this is the case, try the following:
Include a restricted key figure in your report filtered on 'ZVMFISCPER'; hide it
Remove 'ZVMFISCPER' from the 0FISCPER filter of your other RKF in order to keep only the 'ZVR_YTDBUD'.
Otherwise the code looks good except that we don't see how YTD_CURRENTYEAR and YTD_YEARH are declared...

A Filter restricts the entire query where as a RKF is applied on one KF.
Filter enhances the performance hugely bcoz the data to be fetched is confined to that particular filter area or selections in the filter. But a RKF restricts only one KF depending on the characterstic values.
Go through the below illustration:
In your sales analysis report you have customer, material, sales, qty, value for an year. You want to show current month sales one more column. You will create a restricted key figure based on the current month and show it in the report. You will end up with a report
customer, material, sales, qty, value, Current Month Qty, Current Month value.
The above report you want to show only the current month sales. You will create a filter where the 0CALMONTH = current Month with customer, material, sales, qtym, value for the current month only.
Use of filter is better where ever we can, but using a RKF depends upon our reporting needs.

Rename RKF and CKF in query using ABAP

Hi guys,
I am supposed to rename RKF and CKF in query using ABAP. (RKF: restricted key figures, CKF: calculated key figures)
Right now, I am using FM RSZ_X_COMPONENT_GET to load query definition. I can find and rename all used RKF and CKF technical names and rename them in returned tables and then save it using RSZ_X_COMPONENT_SET.
But I see that both RKF and CKF are reusable elements and they are can be probably used somewhere else.
Can you tell me where can I find information in what header table are they saved or maybe some "where used" table.
What FM am I supposed to use to rename CKF and RKF in given query and also in other parts of SAP system?
Even some information how to get deeply into this problem would be very helpful.

Hi,
You can see the query element definitions in RSZ* tables, but not sure if you will be able to find complete info, like a particular RKF is restricted by following selections by looking at the tables. Also, please do not try to change the info directly in the tables even though you seem to have a lot of objects to changes.

Hi,
You can restrict the key figures of an InfoProvider for reuse by selecting one of more characteristics. The key figures that are restricted by one or more characteristic selections can be basic key figures, calculated key figures or key figures that are already restricted. Which means you can define and use them globally in reporting for a particular infoprovider.
Example:
You have to show the sales for different product typessay 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, for a company code.
now you can define a RKF with company code and sales keyfigure.
In the report, in columns, you use this RKF in new selection and restrict it with product type in 6 diff columns.
New Selection.
Restrict it with RKF
Restrict it with product type 1.
similarly for others..

Will Restricted key figure give no applicable data

Hi,
After the query is run it shows no applicable data.
There is applicable data as far as characterstics and filters are concerned.
But the key figures are restircted ones and there is no data matching that restirction.
But shouldnt the query in that case give the output with the char rows which are present and the key figure column as 0.
Kindly provide pointers to the same.

If there is no data that matches the restrictions on the RKFs, then no data will be displayed. The values are not "0" in this case, they don't exist.
Perhaps an example will clarify...
Let's assume there are 3 RKFs restricted by Calendar Month to 01/2007, 02/2007 and 03/2007. If I request data for a date range including these months, then the appropriate data will be displayed. However, if I request data for 07/2007 -> 09/2007, it would not make sense to show "char rows which are present" for those months with "the key figure column as 0".
However, you can essentially get the result you are looking for by turning off all zero suppression and hiding all of the RKFs.

I have a restricted key figure. I want only few users to have access to this restricted key figure and want to put some sort of authorization on this restricted key figure. While creating authorization I am giving the type of authorization components as RKF (restricted key figure) but there is no place where i can mention the id of restricted key figure.

BW Restriction: Is there a way out?

Hello Guys,
I have 2 Info Cubes:
Cube_1 and Cube_2.
Cube_1 has Department and Employee.
Cube_2 has some Employee and Cost Incurred.
Now as per my report, User will needs to Cost Incurred by Department.
So I need to collect all Employees of a particular Department of Cube_1 and then go to Cube_2 and caclulate the total medical cost.
So what I have done is that I have created a MultiProvider on Cube_1 and Cube_2.
But when I fire the query on MultiProvider, it does not return me proper data. When I go to RSRT and try to debug the query with the underlying SQL, I see one peculiar thing.
The join between two cubes is never made. The reporting is done always from one cube. I asked few experts and they told me that it is a lilitation of OLAP. Since BW is based on OLAP, hence it is not possible.
Can you tell me that if this actually is a restriction. If not, then what is the solution to this scenario.

Creating an infoset is definitely the most efficient way to go about in this case (assuming you are on BI 7.0). But if you are interested in making it work through a multiprovider...try the option of CONSTANT SELECTION, it works miracles with multiprovider joins (UNION).

Based on the information you presented here, you have restrict the keyfigure COSTS by DEPARTMENT and in this RKF (restricted keyfigure), right click on DEPARTMENT and choose CONSTANT SELECTION.

Restricting a KF by a range of material codes

Hi Experts,
Have you ever come across a similar requirement?
In a query I have material displayed in the columns and several RKF's in the rows. For the new requirement we need to create a new RKF in the rows, restricting a sales KF by the first 5 digits of the different materials displayed in the columns. For example: if in the first column material code is XXXXX-01, the new RKF should be restricted by materials = XXXXX-*.
The query is just filtered by calendar month, no filters for material.
Is this possible?

Hi,
Not sure if this will work out...but give a try.
In the new rkf, restrict material with replacement path variable X..of the characterstic material, and then agian restrict with customer exit variable Y based on X, and then in the cmod code u can give the restriction based on the patter.
