URGENT: The hex editor

Hey. First of all I would like to apologize for this post closely resembling my other post on the same topic from a while ago.
The thing is that if I am going to get this working, I really need it working now. My deadline is this friday. I know this is cutting it very close, but I'm giving it a shot anyways.
I need to find a way of customizing a textarea of some sort, to make it draw text in columns. The text should be editable, just as in an ordinary text component, and have most of the ordinary functionality.
The text should be drawin in columns, but logically it is still just one large set of text without any spaces.
This is because I need (there is no other way) the offset of the text caret to be calculated from the start while skipping the spaces.
0000 0000 0000 0000 would be treated as 16 characters. So the last caret position would be 15, not 18, as would be suspected...
I imagine this has something to do with the View and ViewFactory classes, but I just can't get it into my head how I am supposed to customize this.
These classes are used by the EditorKit, so I would need that custom aswell...
Well, I'm hoping someone can give me just the right hint to get things flowing. I'm really stuck, and that sucks big time.

Well, like I said, I'm sorry that it had to come to that, but I was sort of desperate. I'm not proud of having to ask for help in that manner, but I guess I was hoping for someone to notice the post sooner. It won't happen again, I assure you.
The end result is very important to me, and even though the thing don't need to be awfully fast I'd still like it to be. Hence the need for some customization...
On the JFormattedTextField. I dabbled a bit with that, but the thing is it works by parsing the text and inserting necessary delimeter characters and spacing, which is exactly what I'm doing right now. I parse the contents of a byte-array, formatting it to hexadecimal, and inserting spaces at key possitions, giving it the appearence of a hexeditor. This however makes the "real" offset in the byte array extremely difficult to calculate, since the calculation involves floats... and java isn't very exact when it comes to float arithmetics...
Also, as with every hex editor, I need more than just one line.
Again, I'm sorry for the blatant missuse of the word urgent. The procrastination was due to me trying to solve it on my own, and since it was of lower priority I chose not to ask for help until now. The project is finished; this optimization is optional. And it wasn't actually homework

I just used Crystal 2 weeks ago just fine. Now when I go into a report and then into the select expert then into the formula editor it will not let me edit my formulas. The cursor is there, but I can do anything. I tried to find and replace, but I get the text is read-only. How the heck do I fix this? It's pretty urgent.

The only time I've seen formula grayed out is when I go into a conditional formatting formula and try to edit other formula fields on the Report.
What formulas are you trying to edit? The best place to edit a formula is from the 'Formula Workshop'.
Report > Formula Workshop; you can edit any formula from here.

Hex editor needed

Fellows;
I need a HEX editor which show me the hex values and its ASCII values. Lets say I have a string in ASCII characters DS.99995Q and it show me the hex values.
Any idea??

Well, String.charAt() should provide you with the ASCII values (actually UNICODE character values, of which ASCII is a subset).
I don't know what you mean by hex values. String.toBytes() will give you a byte array that might contain the information you want (if you want the hex values of the bytes the JVM uses to store Strings (in UTF-16 format, if you must know).

I think you're getting a little confused, I think you meant you want the hex representation of your GIF.

Hide "Save and Lock Button" Button in the HTML Editor

I have created a doc file and saved it as a webpage. Then i have uploaded the file to the KM Content. Now this file can be edited online. When i choose the Html Editor, i get 3 buttons. Out of this, i have to disable "Save and Lock Button" button. Can anyone please help me reganing this. This is urgent

Actually, the problem is "Save and Unlock " button is behaving weirdly, even though, user is clicking in it , it is remaining locked. At first, we thought the user was clicking "Save and Hold Lock" by mistake. So we wanted to disable it.But now the problem is somewhere else. Can you please help

How do you draw a tie of two notes in the score editor window

How do you draw a simple tie in the score editor window of Logic Pro 10 ; two quarter notes together, an eighth up-beat accross a bar line into the next measure etc? I can't find the answer in videos, help manual. Please give a step by step how to do it.
It's hard to believe that a program like Logic, that has more information than the New York Public Library, does not have a simple solution for tieing notes. Maybe Logic XI will have one, or "Logicians" can speak to Sibelius for a more "note-worthy" way to solving the problem so that the score editor can be more accessible for editing purposes for those that read and write manuscript. Ties are generally automatically created as necessary. Simply adjust the length of the note in the Score (using DurationBars or the Inspector), or in the Piano Roll or Event list.

In the expression editor dialog box my TAB key doesn't function correctly

This is bizarre behavior that seems to have started recently.
In Visual Studio 2012, an SSRS project, any expression editor dialog:
The tab key doesn't work right.
Open the expression editor and:
* I see a blinking cursor and I can type in the expression box.
* If I hit the tab key, the cursor disappears and I cannot type. I appear to lose focus in the editor but focus doesn't appear to go anywhere else in the dialog box.
* If I hit the tab key a 2nd time, the cursor is still gone and I cannot type.
* If I hit the tab key a 3rd time, I can finally type again and note that I am now
3 tabstops in. In other words it seems like the tabs were working but I lost the ability to type anything until I "tab" 3 magical times.
I can work around this by hitting tab key then grabbing the mouse and clicking where the cursor SHOULD be which returns focus to the text area.

According to your description, as you said that the cursor disappears and cannot type issue. It seems that the issue may be not Visual Studio the VS IDE issue.

How to clear the text in the Text Editor

Hi all,
I created a Text editor and also i am having language field in the screen.
whenever i change the language auomatically the text has to change when the text exists for that
language.
this is working fine, but when the Text exist , the text editor should be blank.
But it is carrying the Previous editor text itself into it .
How to clear the text in the Editor.

How to print the HEX values of non-displayable characters!

I am trying to tokenize a string that contains non-displayable characters i.e. EBCDIC or ASCII. How can I print the HEX values of the non-displayable characters. e.g.
"StartTEST1TEST2TEST3TEST4TEST5TEST6TEST7TEST812END"
How can print the HEX values of in the above string. Any help is appreciated.

Dynamically change the cell editor in the table control

Hi..
I have 3 columns in a table . of which in one column we need to change the cell editor dynamically at runtime.
i.e for example i have columns as carrid, connid and fldate.
For the first 2 rows the cell editor for the carrid clomn shud be a dropdown and from there on in the next rows for the same carrid column it shud be a input field.
Can experts plz help me how to achieve this as this is very high priority issue....

This is actaully fairly simple to do. You will need to add a cellVariant to your table column. You can then dataBind a context attribute to the selectedCellVariant property of the column to control which cellVariant will be used. This allows you to control row-by-row which cell editor you want to output.

Also here is an example that I did the other day that uses Cell Variants within ALV. This process is actually a little more complicated because you have to go through the ALV APIs. To do this in a normal table is actually easier because you can create the cellVariant in the layout designer.

The software that runs the Apple Communities is a commercial product developed and provided by Jive (it's the only software that can handle the massive load we users place on these forums), so it would probably be impossible for Apple to just swap out one component. Nothing I've been able to find on Jive's site indicates that their products are modular to that extent.

Is it possible to change the length of a note in the score editor?

I thought I saw somewhere that it was now possible to adjust the length of a note in the score editor graphically, i.e. by clicking on the note and somehow adjust its length directly to change it from 1/4 note to 1/8 (for example).
I don't want to do this by going over to the "Length" dialog on the left because I hate having to switch from thinking in terms of music notation and then having to think (temporarily) in MIDI ticks per beat, etc.
I must admit that I'm finding it extremely frustrating to simply enter music into Logic in a score....I thought this was supposed to be one of its strengths but it seems to be providing amazing capabilities at the expense of ease of use for beginners.

greetings dh... are you into Key Commands? There are two which will help you do the above in a trice:
• Nudge Region/Event Length Right by SMPTE Frame
• Nudge Region/Event Length Left by SMPTE Frame
I set mine to the simple letter o and n
- I click on a note and press o repeatedly.. it grows and grows longer and longer
– I click on a note and press n repeatedly.. it shrinks and shrinks shorter and shorter
All by little increments
If you keep a Piano Roll window open while you do this, you can see the length do this exactly
man, it is VERY quick and handy for changing the length of notes
It really helps to have a view of the midi Piano Roll to cross check the exact length and position of the notes.
Check out the Key Commands:
• Set Next Higher division
• Set Next lower division
These change the note value in the transport bar near the time signature. Your time signature may be 4/4 but the "grid" on which the notes are appear in the Piano Roll could be displayed in quarter, 8th or 16th notes. If you experiment with these commands, then you can match the note lengths easily to the grid display visually (with the above nudge length commands)
Also - you may like to experiment with the following 3 KEY Key Commands:
1 • Nudge Region/Event Position Right by Nudge Value
2 • Nudge Region/Event Position Left by Nudge Value
This will move your selected notes forward in time or back in time according to the

or if the value is 8th notes, then each press of the key forward or backwards will move the selected notes forward or back by this amount
... amazingly useful when you are taking a whole phrase and pasting it somewhere else, or if say you started to write a phrase in the Score Editor and you started on the wrong beat.. then you just Nudge back and forth
3 • Set Nudge Value to Division
.. this will in a trice change change the Nudge Value to whatever Note division value is set in the Transport bar

Formula Logic for Dates in the Cell Editor in Query Designer

Hi All
We are on BI7. (This is in the Cell Editor in Query Designer)
I am trying to create a formula in one cell that enters a date based on the following logic (Lets call this formula A):
I also have a placeholder "Cell reference" for a Date in another cell in the Cell Editor (Lets call it B).
I also have two other dates in seperate cells in the Editor (Lets call them C and D)
What i need to do is check that either C or D are not blank i.e one at least has a date and if so enter the date that is in B in A.
My formula logic in (Cell A) at the moment is as follows:
( Cell C <> 0 ) OR ( Cell D <> 0) * Cell B
When I run the query It is coming back with either a 1 or 0 depending if there is a date in C or D.
What I want it to do is to display the actual date of 'Cell B' in 'Cell A' if ( Cell C <> 0 ) OR ( Cell D <> 0)
If the value of B is blank ie no date I also want A to be blank i.e not equal zero or a blank date ie 00/00/0000
Example 1
Cell A    08/09/2009
Cell B    08/09/2009
Cell C   15/03/2010
Cell D
Cell A should = 08/09/2009 as there is a Date in Cell C or D and if so enter the date of Cell B in cell A
Example 2
Cell A
Cell B    08/09/2009
Cell C
Cell D
Cell A should = BLANK as there is a NO Date in Cell C or D
Example 3
Cell A
Cell B
Cell C   15/03/2010
Cell D
Cell A should = BLANK as there is a No Date in Cell B although a Date in cell C or D.

It seems you have done almost everything...
What it seems that is missing is probably the cell reference for Cell C and for Cell D, or did you forget to mention it here?
So here it is the big idea:
- In the Cell Editor of the query designer, create a new cell reference for Cell C, let's name it ref_cell_c;
- In the Cell Editor of the query designer, create a new cell reference for Cell D, let's name it ref_cell_d;
- In the Cell Editor of the query designer, create a new cell reference for Cell B, let's name it ref_cell_b;
- In the Cell Editor of the query designer, create a new formula for Cell A, let's name it form_cell_a;
The form_cell_a should be created by the following:
( COUNT(ref_cell_c) + COUNT(ref_cell_d) ) * ref_cell_b
So COUNT(operand) returns 1 if operand is different of 0 else it returns 0; So if ref_cell_c has any valu or ref_cell_d has any value it should return the value of ref_cell_b.
Please note that with this formula, if you have values in both ref_cell_c and ref_cell_d this formula returns 2 * ref_cell_b, which is not what you pretend, I'm assuming you'll have value only for the following combinations:
ref_cell_c has value but ref_cell_d don't have any
ref_cell_c don't have any value but ref_cell_d has a value
ref_cell_c don't have any value neighther has ref_cell_d any

When I try to install Photoshop as a secondary editor in elements I get an error message that I don't need to this because it is already supported on the edit menu and task bar. I can not find any way to send images to Photoshop for editing - all I can do is send them to elements editor or the premier editor. Can someone tell me how to send them to Photoshop? Thanks!

The D810 requires Camera Raw 8.6 or later - the latest version that is compatible with Photoshop Elements 12 is Camera Raw 8.5 as far as I can see.
You need to either buy a new version of Photoshop Elements or use the free Adobe DNG converter.
