URL for a PDF in R12.1.3
Dear all,
We are in 2 node RAC environment and two nodes for apps tier configured with Load balancer. Now I have to place a PDF in the server and generate a URL to access that PDF. This URL should be kept under Employee Self Service >> Individual Development Plan so that every one access it. Can some one help ?
Where could be the best place in apps to store those kind of files ?
Should I need to place the file in both nodes of apps Tier ?
Please help.

Charan

Web Location URLs for Office 2007 documents (pptx, xlsx, docx) not working
In our current Content Server solution implemented, each content has a Web Location URL and a Native File associated with it. The Web Location URL(for a content in Public security group) is of the following format:
http://ucmurl/groups/public/intranetcontent/CONTENT_ID.doc
So far when a user clicks on this link, they are just presented with an 'Open' 'Save' dialog box, which clearly shows that UCM identifies this file format. So for a Word 2003 document called test.doc, the Open-Save dialog box says:
Name: test.doc
Type: Microsoft Word document..etc.
The behaviour is the same for all Office 2003 documents, pdfs and images. However, it seems like UCM does not identify Office 2007 documents. When I check-in a content - test.pptx, and click on the Web Location URL, it prompts me to Open/Save a 'ZIP' file, which is what UCM does for any unidentified file formats.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
The file formats under configuration manager have been updated to include the following formats with PASSTHRU conversion (since we dont need any conversion on these):
pptx: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation
docx: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
xlsx: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet
The desired functionality is that when the user clicks on web location url, UCM should identify these file formats, and NOT consider them as ZIP files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Try these - if you're using IIS. If not, them something similar should fix.
Update IIS to include additional MIME types
Also, if you want to add all of the Microsoft Office 2007 mime-types to IIS in one step you can do this:
1. Stop IIS
2. Edit the metabase XML file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.xml) using a text editor.
3. Search for the <IIsMimeMap Location="/LM/MimeMap" …> element and append the lines below to the MimeMap attribute
.docm,application/vnd.ms-word.document.macroEnabled.12
.docx,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
.dotm,application/vnd.ms-word.template.macroEnabled.12
.dotx,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.template
.potm,application/vnd.ms-powerpoint.template.macroEnabled.12

.ppsm,application/vnd.ms-powerpoint.slideshow.macroEnabled.12
.ppsx,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.slideshow
.pptm,application/vnd.ms-powerpoint.presentation.macroEnabled.12
.pptx,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation
.xlam,application/vnd.ms-excel.addin.macroEnabled.12

.xltm,application/vnd.ms-excel.template.macroEnabled.12
.xltx,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.template
4. Save the C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.xml file
5. Start IIS

How do I copy the URL of a PDF file that I have opened in FireFox using FoxIt Reader add-on?
This does NOT seem to be a FoxIt question because, when I use FoxIt 5.0 as my PDF reader in Internet Explorer 8, I do not have this problem. I have encountered the problem only when using FoxIt 5.0 as my PDF reader in FireFox 4.0. The problem is quite annoying. I NEED to capture the URLs of the PDFs I view and I prefer to use FireFox as my browser. The problem exists because no destination field is displayed when FoxIt opens in FireFox. A destination field IS displayed when FoxIt opens in IE.
Another option for sending large files is to use :
http://www.filedropper.com/
You upload the files to the website and it creates
a URL that you can copy and paste into an email
which you send to the recipient and they use the
generated link to get the file. -
The new pdf preview feature in firefox desktop does NOT seem to activate any links (urls) inside the pdf meaning they are no longer clickable.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem.
I send out product information using pdf's with clickable links inside (as do lots of businesses) and this loss of clickable links functionality is a problem.
I also tried the same pdf files in IE and Chrome and their inline pdf previews keep all links fully working.
I know the pdf preview in firefox can be deactivated and the adobe reader can be used instead but in reality lots of people won't know how to do this or won't be troubled to find out how and will just move on.
Does anyone know if this feature is going to be fixed or supported or is it a deliberate security feature.
Thanks.
JP.Hey JPEdwards,
The PDF.js team is still hard at work on the built-in viewer. It looks like there is already a bug on file for this and they are aware of it:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=821599
Please don't post in the bug if you are just confirming that you've seen the problem too. That clutters the tickets ;) -
Cocoon - Tomcat - APEX for FOP PDF printing
I'm trying to setup Cocoon & Tomcat with APEX 4.1 for doing PDF printing of some reports.
I'm using Linux 64bit, Tomcat 7.0.22, Cocoon 2.1.11, and JDK (build 1.6.0_24-b07).
I followed Carl Backstrom's very helpful [blog entry|http://carlback.blogspot.com/2007/03/apex-cocoon-pdf-and-more.html] about using cocoon and tomcat to produce PDF reports through APEX. However, I must just be missing something, because it's not working at all for me.
Does anyone have any suggestions about getting this to work? Whenever, I attempt to hit the cocoon site (localhost:8080/cocoon/), I receive the following error:
"org.apache.cocoon.ResourceNotFoundException: No pipeline matched request: index.html"
Whenever I attempt to download a PDF report, I receive this error:
"Adobe reader cannot open 'reportname.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged."
If you have this configuration (cocoon, tomcat, APEX, PDF printing) working, I'd greatly appreciate it if you shared any URLs or tips you have in getting this setup. I understand why folks fork out the big $ for BI Publisher, but that's not an option for me.
Many thanks,
ReidIn the Tomcat Manager app, it shows that cocoon is deployed and running.
I was able to reload it as well:
"OK - Reloaded application at context path /cocoon"
I see this in the Tomcat log:
"SEVERE: The web application [cocoon] appears to have started a thread named [HSQLDB Timer @6b033450] but has failed to stop it. This is very likely to create a memory leak." -
No_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine
Hi,
I am facing the same problem. I have configured a RFC-File scenario.
I get the error"no_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine af.<SID>.<server>"
and <INTERNAL.AE_DETAILS_GET_ERROR>
I get the error "no_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine" when I execute the Function Module SAI_AE_DETAILS_GET.
This error occured in the line 235( sap_xi_adapter_services = sld_accessor->associators( iref = sap_xi_adapter_framework assocclass = 'SAP_HostedXIAdapterServi) of the FM.
The value is not filled and i get the error mentioned.
I have gone through thread and verified all the points mentioned.
I have checked SXI_CAHCE,there are no locked users in RSUSR200,
SXI_CACHE, Goto->AdapterEngine Cache, I have an entry af.<sid>.<server>
In SLD,Technical Landscape,Exchange Infrastructure I have the entry <SID>.<Server> against the Adapter Engine
But as was mentioned in the thread the line 241 of the Fucntion Module has 'adapterType' and not 'Adaptertype' as in the exchange profile.I did not try changing 'a' to 'A'.
Could you please let me know how to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance.Hi Vani,
Check the pipeline URL in the SLD
Business System->URL
It should be
http://host:HTTPport/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Just check this thread- may be useful-

It looks like multiple dev2dev pdf download links aren't working.
I'm the original main author and can email you a copy. Just send a request to - [email protected] (remove NOSPAM from the address).
Please keep in mind that this paper is out of date in parts, particularly with respect to persistent store tuning, non-persistent one-ways, and MDB threading. The edoc performance pages supersede it:

Can InDesign recognise a URL from a PDF within a picture box?
I want to find out if InDesign can recognise a URL from a PDF which I have pulled into a picture box?
We are using InDesign and DPS to create magazine apps from PDF pages, a lot of these pages have a lot of URL's which we need live in the app. At the moment we create a hyperlink box, open the pdf from the links window and cut and paste each URL into each hyperlink box.
Is this the only way or are we missing something??
Thanks,
BIs there any sort of workaround?
I was thinking, is there a way to pull the URL's from the pdf's (before importing into InDesign) and then adding them into some sort of list in InDesign, then use the Hyperlinks panel to select the correct URL for the correct Hyperlink box?? -

Thanks for yours answersRather than cobbling together the individual parts of the URL, create a development app with social sharing enabled and at least one article set to free. When you share the article of the published folio, you'll see your web viewer URL.

Dynamic URL for Exploration View
Hi Experts,
We know that we could create Dynamic URL for InfoSpace to get its facet value and chart type
Would you kindly let me know whether it is possible to get dyanmic URL for Exploration View
I know it's hard to set chart type but we just want to fitler value on facet
Best regards
Alex yangHi Mallik,
Thanks for your help
But it looks like this kind of thing does not even for InfoSpace.
According to the document from SAP, http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4_exp_admin_en.pdf
The strucutre will be as below for InfoSpace if you want to pass parameter value
http://Test.com:8080/explorer/index.jsp?isna=Dynamic URL Test&fans=Year_:_2013
We need to use isna to get infospace name or document id and using Fans to get facet value
But we do not know what's the key word to get exploration view name
Would you kindly let me know whether there is some document to use?

Pls provide metalink URL for Jdeveloper10g with OAExtension
Hi All,
Today, I attended a demo of Oracle University on "Oracle Applications R12 Technology" . In the demo, it has been mentioned that Oracle web pages personalization/customization/extension is done using "JDeveloper10g with OA Extn" and the tool can be downloaded from Oracle Metalink.
But I made a rigorous(i think so) search for downloading "JDeveloper10g with OA Extn" but unable to find it.
Could anyone help me out by providing the metalink URLs for JDeveloper10g with OA Extn which works with R12 of Oracle E-Business Suite.
Thanks a ton in advance.

BO Opendocument Url not giving pdf report when invoked through Java.
Hi All,
I'm trying to get pdf report by invoking the BO XI R3 server using the below url.
<br>
<br>
<br>
http://corpbo101d:41040/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=rpt&sDocName=BankAsAgentNA_1_au&sOutputFormat=P&lsS@model_code=BANKAGENT&lsS@user_id=sv66397&lsS@gen_no=1
<br>
<br>
<B>This url gives the pdf report as expected when accessed through the browser.</B>
<br>
<br>
But when accessing through Java it is not giving the pdf but its giving the content of the opendocument.jsp instead.
<br>
<B>Please let me what am I doing wrong.</B>
<br>
<br>
Thanks in advance.
Your code was breaking the forum thread so I removed it.
Edited by: Jason Everly on Apr 19, 2010 10:17 AMThanks for the response Jason,<br>
<br>
The java script were part of the output that I got when I invoked the url through Java. That is not the code that I'm using but the response which I'm getting after invoking the url.<br>
<br>
The url that I used is the one that I already pasted in the start of the thread.<br>
<br>
http://<server>:<port>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=rpt&sDocName=BankAsAgentNA_1_au&sOutputFormat=P&lsS@model_code=BANKAGENT&lsS@user_id=sv66397&lsS@gen_no=1<br>
<br>
And yes I'm passing parameters along the url. <B>But it is with opendocument only and not viewrpt.*</B><br>
<br>
And this is already working through browser.<br>
<br>
But the problem occurs only during invocation through java, where I'm expecting a pdf byte stream. <br>

Instead i'm getting only html content. Which when I read through it, is nothing but the opendocument.jsp's source code.<br>
