URL for auto plugin install?

Hi,
I have looked through this forum and have looked at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/plugin-install.html, but am unable to find a valid URL that I can include in my HTML to enable the user to install the plugin should it not already be installed on their machine.
I need the URL for all operating systems. While the developers guide does refer to some URLs, mainly
http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.4/plugin-install.html, or the one for windows (as above but with jinstall-14-win32.cab#Version...), but I get an HTTP 404 on all of them.
Does anyone have a working HTML file that they have used to download the plugin? And if yes, please, could you give me the URLs that you used.

Using the option for 1.4.0+ instead of 1.4.0 got better output from HtmlConverter. Haven't tried it on a machine without the plug-in yet.
As a side note, under the plug-in console "Advanced" tab, setting the Java Runtime Environment to 1.3.x caused IE 5 to crash on applet load. Setting the JRE to 1.4.0 fixed the problem. However, some COTS Java packages I am using throw exceptions when 1.4.0 plug-in is used. So much for backwards compatability....
Anybody else developing hatred and loathing for the 1.4.0 plug-in?

How to find URL for new OBIEE install

We had OBIEE installed with Oracle Application Server on Redhat 64-bit. How can I find the URL to give me the login page to OBIEE. I tried the default port of 9704 but got no page.
Not sure if issue is with the install or we are using the wrong port. Any ideas on what to check?

I have Cs2 andOffice for Mac 2004 installed on an Os 10.6.3 system. This weekend my computer did an auto pdate to Os 10.6.8 and now I cannot save or print from any office or CS2 Apps. What happened. Office also freezes and I have to force quit.

What happened is that version 1.0 of the security update was available for a bit of time this weekend, and that disabled Rosetta. Version 1.1 brought it back.

How install my jar+native package for JRE plugin

I cannot figure out how to deploy a plugin consisting of a Java package that calls native code. The calling order is:
Applet -> installed classes in lib/ext/my.jar -> DLL in C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
I have gotten my plugin to work on Windows IE using the Microsoft JVM, and on Netscape using LiveConnect, and on Mac using MRJ. It also works with stand-alone Java applications. But I cannot get it to work with Applets when I am using the SUN JRE plugin for Java!
I can call the classes in the JAR file but they can't loadLibrary( the DLL ).
I put my JAR file in "C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_04\lib\ext".
I put my DLL in "C:\WINDOWS\system32" which is in the "java.library.path".
I was hoping that by installing the JAR file in the lib/ext folder that it would elevate its privelege and allow it to call loadLibrary().
I don't want to have to sign each Applet. My plugin is installed using a digital certificate. Once installed it should give regular Applets the ability to call my native code.
I am hoping to simply use a signed Java installer for the plugin that will copy my JAR file and DLL to the right places.

I found a solution to my own problem. The problem was that classes in a JAR file installed in the "java.ext.dirs" path could not call System.loadLibrary() when called from an Applet.
The solution was to explictly make use of the priveledged status of the extension classes as follows:

Unable to install the "Maven Integration for Eclipse" plugin

I am having trouble trying to install the "Maven Integration for Eclipse" plugin.
The tab Installed list the plugin with an Install button activated.
Then when I click on Install, I get the following log:

Can not get prompt popup for save password and plugin install

I am using Firefox 10.0.0.2 on Win7 b4bit os. I found that I can never get prompt popup with any password form submission. Even the plugin install prompt popup can never turn up.. The prompt popup can show in safe mode only.
I tried to re-install the whole browser and cleared all plugins/extensions. Never worked...PLEASE HELP!

What is the right Call Back url for twitter OAuth in BlackBerry eclipse plugin 9550 simulator

Being optimistic to get the proper help regarding the "Call Back" Url for twitter, I'm here. Actually I'm implementing
"TwitterAPIME-RIM-OAuthSample" for twitter. Here I am feeling helpless when callback url has been asked.
I read somewhere that call back url is not required for java me. But here after putting my credentials in web view, I can't return back to my app as I'm passing "" in callback url param(as I think).
How to handle this thing... please suggest me??

CallBack URL is the url where the twitter redirects after successful authentication. The callback url can be a webpage that builds in any web tech like php etc. for the application. Then the mobile app moves to that redirected page after successful authentication. We can set www.google.com as Callback Url. In that case we need to check the url in the onPageStarted method of the WebViewClient as to finish the webview otherwise it redirects it to www.google.com.

Cannot view InfoPath Form on SHarePoint 2013 since I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive For Business

I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive for Business on my laptop. After that, I had problems opening a Word and Excel document in a SharePoint site (SP2013). After installing Service Pack2 from Office2010, this problem is solved.
But I still have the same problem with InfoPath. Whenever I click an InfoPath form (I have InfoPath 2010 on my laptop),...
... I get the error "cannot display web page".

As I understand, you can’t open InfoPath form in SharePoint 2013 unless you change the URL without “ms-infopath:ofe|u|”.
There are some reasons which maybe cause this issue, and you can try to do things below:
Access CA -> General Application Settings -> Configure InfoPath Form Service -> Check the two options in User Browser-enabled Form Templates.
Go into the registry by typing regedit from the Run line and rename the SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5 key (ex. SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5.old) under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
In library settings, click "relink documents to this library".

What is the best way to find the URL that links directly to a message I've posted in the forum?

Using a variable to insert into a URL for redirecting clients

I got a good one, can anyone help on this?
Using RoboHelp Version 8.02.208.
My company uses MicroStrategy to deploy several web-based data analysis products.
Each of these data products (there are 5) are deployed on different servers.
I have set up a single source WebHelp project and use build tags for product specific help output.
(I also have to modify the Start Page, TOC and Default Topic settings prior to generating each product help)
Everything on this works fine and is not a problem.
We have just implemented an Excel add-in for one of the products.
That add-in uses a locally installed CHM file for its help.
In order to provide customized help that can be updated without forcing the clients to reinstall the CHM help file locally, the source for the CHM file has one dummy topic. In that topic, I have used HTML code to redirect the client to the WebHelp for the product and have integrated the Excel add-in help to that product’s customized help. The result is that the CHM file is opened locally in the HTML help viewer. Inside the HTML help viewer window, I open the WebHelp.
The redirect HARD CODES the URL with the product specific server name and Start Page help topic.
That works fine and is not a problem for ONE PRODUCT.
We are in the process of adding this Excel add-in to other products.
Now here is where I cannot get this to work with my implementation.
The URL for each product is different and to make matters worse, the Start Page is different for each product as well.
So, I am working on options for implementation of multiple products and here is my question:
(1)    The following is an example of the redirect in the single topic of the CHM file:

(2)    The red portion of the URL above will need to be modified to support each individual product with a custom server, product name and start page HTM file name.

(2)    Once the product is identified, update the variable with the product specific URL content
(3)    Integrate the variable into the target URL of the HTML code that does the redirect
I think this is either not possible or more work than needed. My other option is to provide standalone Excel add-in help on a server and just have the Excel plug-in go to that (right now it is integrated into the product specific help and the client has access to the plug-in help AND the application help all at the same place).

Thanks for the feedback - here is more informtion on the challenges of this implementation:
I can only distribute one CHM file to cover all 5 web-based products that can be accessed through the Excel plug-in.
Regardless of which of our 5 products is used to install the plug-in on the client's local hard drive, the same installer is used.
That one CHM file is installed locally on the client's hard drive.
(The out of the box CHM file for the plug-in only has general plug-in help content the locl install causes problems for updating the content).
We needed to be able to easily update the help without inconveniencing the clients.
So, I am not creating 5 different CHM files for each installer, since there is only one installer regardless of how many of the 5 products they have.
The plug-in has a server setting and web service setting for each product and the client must choose which they are accessing when they fire up the plug-in.
They may be accessing the plug-in for any of our 5 web-based products they have subscriptions for.
Which means, the one CHM file must be able to:
(1) determine the product they are accessing
(2) direct to one of the 5 servers with the online help.
Each of the 5 online helps are deployed on separate servers with different URL links (and the helps have all different URL links as well).
These online webhelp outputs have some identical content but also some customized content for the specific product they are actually accessing.
My original approach was pretty much the same as William's above. Have a variable in the CHM help, determine the server they are accessing from the plug-in and insert the customized portion of the URL to access the appropriate webhelp.
Keep the ideas/suggestions coming.
I also have a development person looking into how to update a variable on the CHM side to populate the URL.

The Shockwave for Director plugin is no longer working in Firefox 7 for mac

Dear Firefox,
I run a website which uses Adobe's Shockwave for Director plugin to view an animation. This plugin worked perfectly in Firefox for mac, up until Firefox 7. Firefox now sees it only as an unknown added plugin and the animation can no longer open. I have the latest plugin version installed from Adobe, which works fine in Firefox 7 for windows, in Safari (mac, win) and Internet Explorer (win). The Flash plugin is also working fine.
In the preference panel, I have allowed Adobe to install plugins. Do I need to change other settings? Is something stopping Firefox for mac from properly loading the plugin?

Have been trying to get to the root cause of the problem but did not find much on this. I am trying to figure out what can get the warning to go away completely than using the Allow/Always Allow options for the plug-in

Thank you for your response. Here is the screenshot of the warning that I am talking about.
Here is what I do:
1. Launch Safari and open its Preferences. I have Safari 7.1 installed on my machine.
2. Click Security Tab and click Manage WebSite Settings
3. A window opens showing me all the Plug-ins that I have (listed on the left hand side).
4. One of them is the Adobe Reader plug-in. When I click Adobe Reader, the following details about the plug-in show up on the right
I was referring to the highlighted section that warns me about this plug-in not using the highest level of security for Safari Plug-ins.
Note: I do not see this for all my plug-ins (QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player don't give me this warning) which tells me that there is a way to make the warning go away.

In the master page, we use path the script/style file like this: <SharePoint:CssRegistration name="<% $SPUrl:~SiteCollection/Style Library/coe/mainCOE.css%>"
runat="server"/>
While using the dynamic path in a multiple languages enabled site, language Id(1033 etc) will be added to the path automatically. That cause the file to be not found.
To solve the issue, please download the Arabic language pack http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3411 ,
install it on your SharePoint and refresh your browser.

OBI11g intallation issue - Error in validating the port range for auto port

I am using the intaller to install OBIEE 11g on my machine. When I get to step 6, I receive the error messages below. Currently I also have OBIEE 10g on my machine so the ports may be already used.
Does any one know how I can resolve this issue? I previously installed both 10g and 11g on my old laptop but I can't figure out why I'm getting these errors this time.
