US TouchPad Working in Europe

I will be heading to France and Germany with my TouchPad and need to find out if I need a converter or just an adapter. My other devices (laptop, smartphone and another tablet) convert the current so the adapter is fine.
Just want to make sure I don't fry my TouchPad!
Thanks...

I totally agree.  Thankfully, the power adapter included with the TP is dual voltage.  So you won't hear your TP go "pop" when you plug it into a Euro outlet.

  • IPhone 5 not working in Europe

I recently traveled back to the US for 1 week after being in Europe for 3 months.  During the trip, my iPhone 4s stopped receiving cellular data.  After investing > 3 hours of time with Verizon to get it to work, I went to a Verizon store and upgraded to an iPhone 5.  I told both of the phone reps that I talked to and the store rep I purchased the iPhone 5 from that I was returning to Europe for 3 more months in one week, and the new phone had to work in Europe.  I'm back in Europe and I can't place outgoing calls to the US (had no problem with the iPhone 4s for the previous 3 months).  I have tried dialing straight from contacts without +1 and dialing using the keypad using +1.  Data over wi-fi works fine - I haven't tried data over wireless yet because I usually leave it turned off since it's so expensive.  I can receive incoming calls from the US.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Why doesn't Verizon have an email support link?  This blog is the only way I found to contact Verizon in this situation.

That is odd that you can receive calls. That makes me think you had never activated international dialing on your number. You actually have to call customer service to give your account the ability to dial out, but you only have to do this once, and you were obviously already set up with your old phone.
Did you use the same SIM card in the new phone? If not, maybe the new card needs to be activated. Take it out, jot down the numbers, and use this toll-free number from a landline:

  • Touchpad works erratically after clicking

I bought a Satellite L40-A just a few weeks ago, and I haven't encountered problems until just last week. I've noticed that my touchpad works erratically (does not move the cursor as expected when used, the synaptics icon on the system tray shows that it is sometimes detecting a touch even if I'm not touching it) after using one of the touchpad buttons. The erratic behavior goes away after I put the laptop on sleep and then wake it back up again.
I've tried updating my synaptics drivers to v17.0.8.21, which I downloaded from here. However, the problem still exists.
Is this a software or a hardware problem? Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks.

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region.

  • Will my iPhone 5 work in Europe?

Will my iPhone five in Norway?

What model number does you iPhone have? Check Settings > General > About and look for model. If it says A1533 or A1457 or A1530 you iPhone is a GSM model which should work in Europe with european carriers but to be absolutley sure you should ask the carrier you want to use in Europe.

To avoid issues probably yes a GSM model
Yes, that would be the iPhone 5 model A1429 for the LTE.  Doesn't have to be unlocked.  It could be locked to your mobile company and only your mobile company.

  • Nokia 920 on Pay Mountly account does not work in Europe..again.

So this is the second holiday I have gone on with my Nokia 920 and its not worked in Europe.I've had phone and account for well over a year now.Am on a Pay monthly deal and activated the "Euro Talk & Text Booster"  before I left. Checking my account - it is still active. Would not work - again. Pretty dissapointed, and if it happens again I will consider my options when it comes to renewing my account.. Annoyingly my wife and son's Nokia 620 and iphone 4 respectively both worked with cheap'n'cheerful GiffGaff PAYG accounts, but not my Pay Monthly phone. In all countries an Automatic search found nothing. Manual search in any location (France, Italy, Gibraltar and Portugal) found networks, but when I selected any of them it would say they could not be connected, whereas the Giffgaff phones worked with any network they found. Any help appreciated. MD

Sorry I don't see that. I have already looked here. When I get into my account I don't have have "Devices and Usage" option to select.I have a "My Phone", which I have recnetly manually selected as  the Nokia 920, as it was blank. The menu on the left hand side of the dashboard is shown belowI should point out I am currently on a SIM only deal I beleive. and the phone was not purchased through EE/T-mobile.I got the discounted SIM only deal when I tried to leave EE over a year ago. The offer seemed atractive so I stayed. My Account dashboardMy Plan overviewMy billsMake a paymentAdd boostersMy unbilled usageMy PhoneMy Account detailsMy optionsSend a webtextActivate Mini-SIMInsurance & protectionKeeping your numberCheers

Will my iMac that I bought in America will work in Europe ( my Mac Originally released October 2012 it is the 27-inch iMac 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5).
How can I tell if I can plug it to 220v ?

Yes, it will work. PSUs are auto-switching between power systems. You should only need wall outlet plug adaptors.

  • Hello, if i buy a iPad in USA can it works in Europe?

Hello, if i buy a iPad in USA can it works in Europe?

Apple do not build region specific iPads as I understand it (they wouldn't have got themselves in the 4G mess if they did). What you will find though is an American charger in the box, apart from that, nothing is different, the region is setup purely by the choices you make in the start up process. You won't get a problem if you buy from a specific carrier as well, iPad can not be "locked" to a network.

  • Good morning. I've read in some blogs and forums that the verizon wireless works in Europe but my question is if it works with portugueses cards (like vodafone sim)?

Good morning (at least here in Portugal)
My question is that I want to buy the new Iphone 5C, but I want to use it here in Portugal. I was in the store menu looking for it and it appears that I have to stay with a network for two years, if not the price will increase significantly. I want to buy it online because the Iphone will only arrive in Portugal in December and probably it will be more expensive. I've read in some blogs and forums that the verizon wireless works in Europe but my question is if it works with portugueses cards (like vodafone sim)?
Thank you very much for the attention.
    Daniela João.

The Verizon iPhone 5 is sold as unlocked. You can buy it full retail and use it anywhere you want. However, you won't get LTE in Europe and you won't be eligible for warranty service unless you take the phone back to the U.S. You won't be able to buy one on a contract unless you can pass a U.S. credit check. The minimum monthly cost would be $59.99 plus tax. I assume that all of this information will be true of of the 5C as well.
Wait and buy the phone in Portuagal.

  • Does a MacBook Air bought in the USA work in Europe ?

Does a MacBook Air bought in the USA work in Europe ?

Yes, no problem whatsoever. just get a local figure of 8 style cable to plug into the power adaptor. Don't bother with the expensive 'World adaptors' some folk sell as most electrical stores and even supermarkets will have one for a less than a Dollar.

  • If I buy iPhone 6 without contract in Canada, will iPhone work in Europe, on Croatian network without unlocking or some other problems? Tnx

If I buy iPhone 6 without contract in Canada, will iPhone work in Europe, on Croatian network without unlocking or some other problems? Tnx

A contract-free phone is not the same thing as an unlocked phone.
If you purchase it through a carrier, it will very likely be locked to that carrier.
In the US, Apple stores, and only Apple stores, sell unlocked phones. The same may hold true in Canada.
Also keep in mind that warranty service will only be available in the country where you purchased the phone (Canada) and you will have to either send it to a friend/family member to get it repaired or make the trip yourself. Apple will not accept a shipment from outside the country of purchase.
Finally, while an iPhone from one country will generally work anywhere in the world, you may find that you do not get 4G speeds/full compatibility with a network outside of the country of purchase.

  • Which iPhone 6 model should I buy to be sure it will work in Europe (Croatia)? Is it A1586?

Which iPhone 6 model should I buy in USA to be sure it will work in Europe (Croatia)? Is it A1586? When I return to Croatia, I'll use it on T-mobile network which has 3G, 4G and LTE band.

Read the post properly and see what he actually said in the post:-
His post actually said "The A1586 is the model sold IN AND FOR CROATIA."
This is not the same as that model being available for sale in the USA and when you go to the US you cannot pick and choose which model you buy.  The iPhone is country specific and you will have to purchase the model that is available in the USA.
The USA has CDMA and GSM iPhones, so when you go you would want to purchase the GSM phone and probably the T-Mobile Contract free phone as no unlocked phones are currently for sale in the US.
If you purchase the T-Mobile Contract free phone in the US, then is should work when you return to Croatia, but it will not work on 4G/LTE because of frequency differences in the US.  The phone should work okay on 3G, but not 4G or LTE.
Also, remember that if you purchase any phone in the US you will have no warranty cover on your return to Croatia - iPhone warranty is not international and is country specific, so if you have a problem with the phone, you are looking at flying back to the US to get the phone fixed.
The phone will probably work in Croatia, but there is no guarantee of this and it will not work on the 4G LTE that is available there.

  • Which airport cards work in Europe?

Does anyone know of which 802.11b original Airport Card works in Europe and which don't? I heard from a friend that there are some airport cards that do not work oversees. How can I identity the regional propensities of the card?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The original AirPort cards, for the North American market, support only radio channels 1 - 11, and NOT the European channels 12 & 13. You could still connect to any European Wi-Fis that operate within the 1 - 11 channels, but not "see" those operating above that. If you need to connect to those additional channels, you would need to acquire a European version, if still available, from the third-party vendor.
