USB-OTG: Set fix to host- or function-mode

Hi,
is it possible in WEC2013 to decide fix, if a OSB-OTG-port is allowed to be in host- or in function-mode?
Perhaps set it fix in the registry?

IdeaPad A1 USB OTG/Host Support

Hey everyone,
Has anyone found a way to get USB Host (USB OTG) to work on a tablet that is not supported? I have a Lenovo IdeaPad A1 which was upgraded from Android 2.0.3 to ICS (4.0.4) which is also rooted. I was under the impression that all Android devices had the support for USB OTG as I bought a $70 tablet off of eBay and it did. I found out the hard way today that not all support it. I really hope someone has some insight to this as I just bought this Lenovo and am kind of disappointed to find it doesn't have something a $70 tablet does.

I think this is a matter of building it into the Adroid/linux kernel and not all companys build it in for some reason. I have built plenty of kernels and its not that big of a deal especially for a high tech company. They must not have the time or can not pay the engineer.
Anyway, since you are rooted and the source is available you can actually do this yourself if you have the time and skills.

USB OTG function doesn't work on Z30STA100-6/10.3.1.2243

Like the title says, USB OTG doesn't work on my Z30 STA100-6 running the latest official OS 10.3.1.2243. It worked before on 10.2.1.3062. I did tried basic troubleshooting procedures like turning the device OFF then ON, reformat my flash drives to FAT, FAT32, and exFAT and even installed OS 10.3.1.1949, 10.3.1.2072 and 10.3.1.2677 for confirmation, all of which it still didn't work. In short, I haven't got the chance to make this work on any 10.3.1. Another thing: Upon further checking, I noticed that the USB column on the Networks and Connections settings displays "Connected" just by simply inserting the OTG cable into the micro USB port on the Z30 running 10.3.1, that is, no flash drive inserted on the other end. I even confirmed this by going to the engineering screens and confirmed that the device, upon inserting just the OTG cable, detects it and displays it as "OTG dongle". Any help would be appreciated as I really want to get to the bottom of this.

According to the Microsoft page the "Error code 10" appears If the device has a FailReasonString value in its hardware key, that string appears as the error message. The driver or enumerator puts this registry string value there. If there is no FailReasonString in the hardware key, you receive the following error message:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Recommended resolution
Device failed to start. Click Update Driver to update the drivers for this device. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.
Ps: This is only a Microsoft tip but if the USB device cannot work because of the low power supply you should check if it work with the external USB hub wich supports a external power supply

if there is any host-target application for setting the PC(host) time to cRIO(target)? if probably a sample program provided?

There's a function called RT Set Date and Time that you can make use of.
We don't have a sample program but this is a very simple VI to use. Read off the current date time in Windows, then enter the corresponding info into this VI and run it. The cRIO controller will then have its date time updated accordingly.

Miix 3 1030 USB OTG doesn't detect any USB device

Two month ago I bought new Miix3 1030 tablet. I bought USB OTG cable but no devices are recognized. Can somebody suggest a USB OTG cable that is 100% compatible with Miix3 1030 tablet?

Setting up Virtual Hosts on a Snow Leopard Development Server

Hi Everybody,
I'm losing hair over this - I thought it would be simple!
I have set up a Mac Mini Server running SLS and would like to host multiple websites for development on the internal network. I require the websites to be stored anywhere on the server, not just in Library/WebServer/Documents/. Ideally, I would like to access them by example.com/mynewsite so I don't have to mess around with DNS.
Currently I'm setting up websites in the Server Admin Web panel but it just doesn't work. I've noticed the error log keeps looking for files located in the Library/WebServer/Documents/ folder even though I have specified a different folder.
What Am I missing? Does anybody know of a tutorial / guide to point out potential issues when setting up virtual hosts? I have checked Apple's guide but it doesn't really help me. Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Sites is likely failing here because Sites is based on the DNS and on the HEAD command within the http stream; if the DNS does not match, you won't get to the host, and if the HEAD command doesn't match the entry in the site, then you'll either get the * wildcard or (if no *) you won't be transferred to the target Site.
Check the web server logs, as a start.
If you want to see how this stuff works at the protocol level, you could telnet to port 80 and toss a http 1.1 GET / command and see what you get back for a page.
Per [rfc2616|http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2616], this sequence looks like this:
+telnet www.example.com 80+
then:
+GET / HTTP/1.1+
+host: www.example.com+
followed by two presses of the return key, and where www.example.com is your target Site (virtual host) name.
Alternatives to using DNS and virtual hosts are port-based hosting (which is easy), and you can also use IP addresses to establish virtual hosts. The former is set up via the Sites stuff, with various other ports being used for the web servers. Ugly, but easy. The IP-based approach can get ugly fast, too.
If you get DNS going and aliases added, and all this goes away in a puff of greasy orange smoke.

Help setting up my hosting.

How in the world do I set up web hosting? I have a friend that sells hosting packages but doesn't know if iWeb will work with it.

What kind of hosting is Cpanel? Where do you get it from?
To get hosting, as I have said before, you have to go and purchase a hosting package from somewhere like GoDaddy or HostExcellence or some other hosting company that sells hosting space - you should select a Unix package rather than a windows package.
I suggest that you have a look at http://www.godaddy.com and select and purchase a hosting package from here - they are a reliable source.

Set fixed window geometry in Xfce4?

Is there a way to set fixed geometry for application windows in Xfce4 (without Compiz)?
I'm thinking like in KDE where you can right-click a window's title bar and set X,Y,width,height to fixed and it will keep that permanently.
Currently I'm using devilspie, but the problem is that devilspie apparently can only apply geometry to a window once: When it is created. It won't prevent existing windows from getting resized/moved later on.

I think there are actually several not necessarily related issues here. First of all when I tested this program in LabVIEW 8.6 (not having had an older version handy at that moment) the first thing I noticed, was that the VI never got parented at all. The reason was simply the data type mismatch in the handle between what Get Window Handle returns and what Add Child uses. Once I fixed that it worked like a charm with no jumping whatsoever.
So I did a test in LabVIEW 7.1 just now and indeed it does jump there. But, I wouldn't exclude that LabVIEW 7 migh have done it correctly for the OS (W2K) that was current at that time it came out. But there are really at least two solutions: Upgrade to a newer LabVIEW version, at least 8.6 works fine (8.2.1 didn't I just checked) or don't call the VI continously but let it run as an independant "process" and pass data by other means than through the connector pane (personally I would point out that globals are a bad way for this )
And by the way, almost all Windows handles are actually pointer sized entities so if you happen to use such window managment VIs in LabVIEw 8.6 or higher it is advisable to not configure them as U32 but as pointer sized (unsigned) integer instead

How to set FIX based on selection made in planning form (HP 9.2)

In order to calculate new values in my business rule I have to use CREATENONMISSINGBLK ON option. But it takes too long time to complete the calculation. So, I need to set FIXes in my business rule in order to keep database selection as small as possible.
Is there any possibility to pass page selections prom planning data form to my custom business rule?
For example form:
Columns: Period
Rows: Account
Page: Year, Entity, Version, CustomDimension
In my rule a need to set following fixes:
Account: Custom fixed List
Period: Custom fixed List
Year: Custom fixed List
Entity: Get one values selected in data form
Version: Get one values selected in data form
CustomDimension Get one values selected in data form
OR
is it possible to set default values for Run-time prompts to be equal to selected members in page dimensions?

Hi,
You can set up variables in your business rules so for example,
Create Variable rtVersion, set it as Type member and dimension Version and Usage-Type as "Run-Time Prompt".
Then in your business rule code you refer to the variable using [rtVersion]
Now in planning the design of the form when you choose the properites for the business rule make sure "Use Members on Data Form" is ticked, and run on save.
Now when the form is saved a pop up window will appear passes the selected version member into the run time prompt text box, this will then be passed into your business when submitted.
You can also hide prompts if you want it be sent directly into the business rule without any user intervention.

I got the problem that BAPI_MATERIAL_BOM_GROUP_CREATE cannot set "Fixed Qty" = "" when item category = "T". It always set = 'X', after finish BOM creation. Is it about the default value somewhere in this BAPI? How can I fix this?

In FM: CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE, this FM can create BOM with Fixed Qty= '', if we set FL_DEFAULT_VALUES = ''. Therefore I wonder why BAPI cannot.
The reason I choose BAPI because I cannot create the new BOM with FM if that material already have BOM. It always gives the message "BOM is already exist". Even I use FM: CS_BT_MASTB_READ to propose the new alternative BOM (2,3,4,...), it always message with alternative 1.
The current solution is using CSAP_MAT_BOM_CHANGE to change Fixed Qty after create with BAPI, but it is not the good solution. Therefore I want to know how I can set Fixed Qty blank with BAPI.

Connect Encore with external hard drive through micro USB OTG cable

I am using a micro USB OTG cable to connect the encore with a (get this) toshiba 1TB external hard drive, but when i connect the two, the hard drive connects and then reconnects every 5 to 10 seconds ... and this goes on constantly. This is getting beyond frustrating. Any suggestions ?

Yea, it's not gonna power anything that needs 2 USB ports as such need more than 500ma. There may well be a low power USB2 spec for tablets Jerry, but what I meant to refer to us the common 500ma standard USB port spec that device manufacturers generally expect. Sorry for being misleading. Basically one can expect issues from any port designed lower than the 500ma spec but I am sure the Encore is designed for the 'full' 500ma, so any example putting out less is below the designed spec. I still suspect the OTG cable first though.
