USB unknown

When I plug into my PC,iPad 2 can't connected.the message is USB unknown device.

Try going into the control panel, add/remove programs and delete the apple mobile device driver.
Then plug your iPad back in and see if it installs.

  • MyDAQ USB unknown device

    Hey,
there are a few posts on this topic, but none of the mentioned fixes solved my problem. Especially this thread http://forums.ni.com/t5/Academic-Hardware-Products-ELVIS/myDAQ-recognized-as-USB-flash-firmware/td-p... describes a quite similar problem, but the workarounds won't help.
My device (myDAQ) worked a few days ago. No mayor (as far as I remember) changes were made neither on the system (Windows 7 / 32bit) nor on the device itself. Teh device also works fine with other computers.
Now, it is only recognized by windows as "Unknown Device" (in the Device Manager).
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Though, it doesn't matter which USB-Port on the Laptop (Lenove ThinkPad T420) I use.
In the NI MAX, the device completly doesn't occur:

As I mentioned I tried all the things mentioned in the thread from above, but with none success.
I also tried the NI Troubleshooting-Thingie:
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
I tried like four diffrent myDAQ-driver versions: (9.1.1f, 9.1.2, 9.5.5, 9.7.5 (perhaps I miss something here, I might lost track..))
all with the same result in the Troubleshooting-Thingie.
Here are some further system information of my computer and installed NI-Programms on the state I know the device worked once: (deinstalled LABVIEW- took quite long- and newly installed LABVIEW from CD):

    Hey loik,
I'm glad to hear you were able to get it working.  Do you know if you were using the USB cable that came with the myDAQ?
I remember I use a (super cheap) 3rd party usb cable with the myDAQ and it didn't fit quite right.  It connected and powered the board but the myDAQ would not enumerate in Windows.  Switching to a better USB cable solved that problem for me.

  • Usb/unknown in hp 630

    Support,
Please my laptop hp 630 with windows 7 usb is having problem because it does not recognise all usb that is plugged into the system and there is an uknown device in the device manager. please i need solution. thanks in advance

Have you checked in the device manager to see if the USB hubs have drivers installed?
Have you used the UEFI PC Diagnostics to test the USB components? It would be a good idea to install the most current UEFI Diagnostics version 5.5.0.0
Power button -->immediuately tap the Esc key --> press the F2 key --> select component tests --> select usb port test. Post you result here please.
You can also try reinstalling the chipset driver. The usb hub controller driver may be corrupt. The link to the compatible driver is below.

My ipod was acting slow then i turned it off it wouldnt turn back on then i did a upgrade and restore deleted all my things  now it wont turn on???

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 4010ca usb device unknown

I have a compaq R4000 tag #4010ca I reloaded win xp and my when installing mouse or any usb device i get usb unknown downloaded the driver from compaq and problem is till there can anyone help. Thanks

Drivers for the Blackberry: Not quite sure how to check this. When I plug the phone into the computer, it does not recognize it. When I go to the device manager, it comes up in the USB portion as "Unknown Device". I've tried updating the driver by pointing it to the USB driver folder in the commons files section, but it won't take.
The phone has been recognized previous for about a day, so I don't think it's firewall/security related, as nothing has changed in that realm.
The device is not in mass storage mode.
I have not tried another computer, but I have tried two completely different Tours, as my carrier was willing to replace the unit. Neither works, and this to me makes it seem obvious that it is the computer, not the phone. I've also tried multiple USB cables.

  • IPad mini USB device not recognized

Trying to get my laptop pc with Windows 7 to recognize my iPad mini on iTunes v11.  Actually, trying to get it recognized by my pc at all.  It shows up as an Unkown Device when i plug it in, as well as in my Device Manager.  I've gone through Apple's online Troubleshooting guide (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538), but when I click Hardware IDs in the Devices tab as requested, it shows up as Unrecognized (USB/UNKNOWN) still -- the Troubleshooting guide does not adress this scenario.  I've been connecting it to several funcitoning USB ports (that recognize my iPhone 4S just fine) via the "lighting" cable that came with the iPad mini, with the same result.
This is a very simple Windows 7 laptop so it strikes me as very odd that this wouldn't work simply.  I've checked around the net and seen people with similar dilemmas without any known solution yet, as far as I can tell.  Please advise, Thanks.

I tried the method mentioned and it didn't resolve my problem.
After much frustration, I opened Device Manager on my PC with my iPad Mini conected in one USB Port, I located it as Another Device (Not Recognized) / iPad. Double Clicked iPad and manually Reinstall the Driver.
It wasn't recognized as Apple Mobile Device in Universal Serial Bus Controllers before.

  • Ipod won't connect to computer

when i connect ipod touch to my pc it show this error usb drive is not recognized
    i try
    If only "Unknown Device" appears:
Right-click on the "Unknown Device" entry, and choose "Properties" from the shortcut menu.
Click the Details tab, and in the drop-down menu, select "Hardware IDs"
If the hardware ID displayed starts with this:
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000      THIS IS WHERE ITS USB/UNKNOWN
This means that Windows cannot read the hardware IDs of the device, and so has replaced them with all zeros. This is typically caused by a faulty USB connection, or an incompatibility with your USB chipset drivers.
Disconnect the device, and unplug all USB devices from your computer. Shut your computer down, and power it back on.
Reconnect your device, testing each USB port for approximately 30 seconds to see if your device is recognized.
Test with an alternate, known-good 30-pin to USB cable if available.
Temporarily disable any "USB Enhanced Host Controller" or "USB 2.0 Host Controller" entries in the Device Manager, under the USB Controllers section. Do this by right-clicking on them, and choosing "disable".
Note: This may temporarily disable your USB keyboard or mouse. If so, disconnect your USB keyboard and mouse, if possible. Or if you are using a portable PC, connect an external keyboard and mouse, if necessary
After disabling USB 2.0 root hubs, reconnect your device.
If your device shows up in iTunes, try re-enabling your USB 2.0 root hubs by right-clicking on their entries in the Device Manager, and choosing "enable". If the issue returns, you may disable the USB 2.0 hubs as a temporary work-around, keeping in mind that sync will occur slowly, at USB 1.1 speeds. Then, consult your computer manufacturer for any updates for your USB 2.0 chipset.
but my hardware id shows USB/UNKNOWN

I am having the same problem.  My iPod touch iOS 4.2.1 (8GB 3rd/2nd gen Model: MC086LL) was able to connect to my Windows 7 Laptop for a while before it stopped reconginzing my iPod.  I am also getting USB/UNKNOWN as Harware ID.  I do not have any onther cable to test my iPod with, and I know, atleast with the wall adopter, my iPod is able to charge fine (I dont usually charge my iPod from my laptop)

  • IPad 2 Not Recognized by Windows (but iTunes is fine)

I've read through a lot of threads and tried everything in this post: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
I have an issue that doesn't seem to fit into anything I'm finding. Probably easiest to break it down into chunks...
I have an iPhone 3GS and an iPad 2
iTunes sees both devices without an issue, syncs them, etc. etc. so obviously the device is working, as is the USB connection.
When I plug the iPhone in, as per the settings I've chosen in Win7, I am prompted to import the photos on it.
When I plug the iPad in, Windows gives me an error that it doesn't recognize the device (something is wrong blah blah blah).
I am using the same cable, plugged into the same port, as when the iPhone is plugged in.
Again, iTunes sees the iPad and works flawlessly with it.When it's plugged in, Device Manager shows an unknown USB device. When I look at the hardware ID, it doesn't give me the whole "zeros" thing, it just says USB/UNKNOWN.
I'm at a loss here. Help?!

Glad you got it fixed - and I wasn't trying to be a wise guy.
It just seemed logical to me that if iTunes recognized the iPad and the iPhone - but they didn't show un in your Windows Devices Manager or Explorer or whatever it's called - that it was probably a Windows thing.
Now you must truly be a HappyMommy!

  • HP LaserJet 3 compatible Epson worked with OSX 10.4, but broke w/ 10.6

Hi. I have a mac mini intel which used to run OSX 10.4. The printer is an Epson ActionLaser 1500 laserprinter (very old), which is running in a compatibility mode for the HP LaserJet 3. I was able to but a USB-to-parallel port adapter, and this printer was working fine with this set-up under OSX 10.4 after configuring the printer to work through CUPS. This was by selecting the printer in CUPS under 10.4 then selecting the HP LaserJet 3 driver. Worked fine.
I updated the system software (clean install) to OS X 10.6, and now I can no longer get the printer to work using the same USB-to-parallel port adapter and the same general setting.
Under 10.6, attempting to set-up through the standard "Add Printer" preferences panel shows a printer "USB2.0-Print" but waits perenially, with a message "Printer is offline." Selecting the driver manually from a list via "Select Printer Software...", the printer still cannot be added to the list of available printers.
Trying via CUPS under OSX 10.6 (the way I got it to work under 10.4), presents a printer option "USB2.0-Print (USB2.0-Print)" which when trying to add the printer, connects to "usb://Unknown/USB2.0-Print?location=1d100000." I can once again select the compatible HP LaserJet 3 driver here (since the printer is running in compatibility mode) which was the one that I used before under 10.4. In this case, the printer is added to the available printers list in various applications and in the "Print and Fax" preferences pane. However, when I then try to print a document, the print queue for the newly added printer opens, and the job is added to the list, but the printing goes nowhere and is stalled with the notifications "Printer is offline" and "Printer offline."
I tried resetting the printing system, rebooting, and even installing usbtb. Usbtb wasn't able to recognize the printer either, and when trying to select a driver manually during the usbtb install, HP LaserJet 3 wasn't an option. Still, no dice.
I have read on the internet, that the "usb://Unknown/USB2.0-Print?location=1d100000" location indicates that the printer is not recognized.
I was able to look into the old leftover system files for OSX 10.4 remaining in "Previous systems" after the upgrade, and to open Library/Preferences/org.cups.printers.plist . This shows a device uri of usb://Unknown/USB2.0-Print%20?serial=0 for a printer with the name of my printer in my old install when it used to work under 10.4 . Obviously, this is not looking the same as what CUPS is coming up with now.
Is there a configuration-based solution to this problem?
If not, would a different adapter work? Can anyone recommend a USB-to-parallel or USB-to-serial adapter (my printer has both parallel and serial ports) that will cooperate with my printer and OSX 10.6 with a minimum of fuss? I'd rather not use usbtb but will try again if I have to. I'm somewhat concerned that usbtb may not work with this printer because neither the HP LaserJet 3 nor the Epson ActionLaser 1500 were presented to me as driver options when trying to install usbtb.

when you add the printer via cups, are you able to add the "?serial=0" ?
    ie usb://Unknown/USB2.0-Print?serial=0?location=1d100000

  • 8220 Flip - trying to update OS from 570 error - constant BB restart - HELP

    Hi All,
New to BB and have a problem here.
I have an 8220 Flip and it started producing JVM errors now and again but reboot cleared them and all worked a couple of hours BUT this morning after rebooting I get the 507 error.
I have researched this and trie everything I could find for over 6 hours now and tried everything - here is my problem:
I have updated DM and downloaded the correct OS - all is well in the manager.
I have deleted every occurance of vendor.xml on the pc.
I run Loader.exe directly, battery out then as soon as the display changes to USB: UNKNOWN - I click on Next - it finds the device, finds the new OS and proceeds to install...
It gets through the first 3 processes and then gets to Installing Modules - the fuel guage gets about 3mm up, the Blackberry reboots and the Loader software reports it cannot connect to the device - which makes sense as it has just rebooted, if I wait about 2 mins the BB boots back up - if I hit retry in the PC dialog the same thing happens.
I have read post after post and just cant get to the bottom of this - if I could stop it rebooting then I think the OS would go back on - but I can't ????
I am on Vista 32bit - All USB's have poer save off.
I have tried this with 2 cables and on 2 laptops now - all the same result.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?? I am self employed and not having the phone is a
    disaster.
    Thanks All

I am having the same issue with my 8220, no matter what I try, the phone turns itself off during the "Loading application modules" portion of the software install... Just wondering if anyone has discovered a solution to this yet?

Ok, so now it's displaying a code 43, and has "Unknown Device" on it. So I did what it told me to on troubleshooting, but it says "
If the hardware ID displayed starts with this:
    USB\VID_0000&PID_0000
This means that Windows cannot read the hardware IDs of the device, and so has replaced them with all zeros. This is typically caused by a faulty USB connection, or an incompatibility with your USB chipset drivers."
So then, what do I do if it displays "USB\UNKNOWN"?

  • 9860 - Error 205 - Wont connect to desktop manager

    Hello,
I have a 9860 that froze on me & rebooted, once it got past the black blackberry loading screen, it goes white and says Error 205 Reload Software.. Its on a constant loop of rebooting and this screen. i tried following the instructions giving on blackberry.com/205 however i cannot get my phone connected to the desktop manager. I tried taking this into Sasktel, but the guy behind the computer couldn't do anything with it, i think he was having this same problem because he told me to come home & do it instead. I have been trying to connect them for over an hour & I am getting very frustrated as nothing is working.. please help!

Try using the steps located here:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Device-software-for-BlackBerry/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-S...
In your case, you likely won't be able to back up your data, but if you had BlackBerry Protect up and running, at least some of your data should be safe.
If you can't get the Loader.exe file to connect at the second screen (where your PIN should appear), remove the battery and disconnect the phone from the computer. Then reconnect your phone (without the battery). As soon as your PIN or USB:UNKNOWN pops up in the box, press next. If you miss it, don't worry, just unplug the phone and plug it back in to trigger another reboot. Once you've gotten your computer to catch your phone, you can reinsert the battery and continue with the OS reload process.
I hope this helps get you back up and running!

  • Need help to get my Brother DCP-J125 printer working again

I'm totally stuck here. I had this printer working and now after a few months it doesn't work anymore.
I tried it with/without usblp. Tried it by installing the drivers myself and by installing the drivers with brother-dcpj125 from AUR (and I did run the script that comes with the drivers). Readded printer several times, reinstalled cups several times. The printer doesn't print. I think cups doesn't find the printer... (The scanner works btw)

I can select the driver for my printer when I modify the printer, but the "Connection" stays "usb:/dev/usb/lp0".

  • System speedup questions

First of all, hello to all the community, i'm a new user in Arch linux but no so new in linux. I've being using
ubuntu linux since 4 yerars or so. I've changed to Arch linux because its speed and because I wanted to
learn more about linux and I thought Arch linux is a good distro for it.
In my search to learn I started compiling packages from sources and recently I dare to compile a customized
kernel. I used the makepkg methode and I achieved to do it with allmost all the modules I think my Inspiron
6400 Core Duo T2400 needs. The problem is that I havent seen a boot speed improvement, and here come
the question, what else should I do?
BTW.: Yes tried to follow the wiki pages (mkinitcpio, udev, ....)

Bootchart of my boot. It takes the same time as the default boot with stock kernel :

I've tried to remove the autodetect from hooks but after it the image doesn't boot .....

Well I have a possible suggestion but it might not be the kind you want/would like: give up on the idea that running a custom kernel and building everything from source will improve your boot speeds or general system responsiveness, perhaps I should say "especially when using Arch Linux".
As an X-Gentoo user I can tell you that notable speed advantages of a source-based distribution are a myth. FWIW I doubt Arch shipping i686 rather than i484 packages actually makes *too much* of a difference.
When I installed Arch Linux (comming from Debian) I was quite stunned by the rapidness of the boot sequence, but I "blame" the init system.
P.S.: We (you and me) seem to be running Arch Linux on nearly the same hardware (nearly the same laptop) HUHU!
