Use of CL_HTTP_CLIENT to send pdf source

We are on Portal running xRPM.
My WDA populates an InteractiveForm UI element with data. As a result - I have pdfSource xstring which I need to save in Cfolder (this is Collaboration folder within xRPM).
I use function CALL FUNCTION 'CFX_API_URL_COL' to get URL: I submit collaboration ID and the function gives me URL.
Cfolders are in Web Application server.
WebDynpro is in browser.
I am trying to use CL_HTTP_CLIENT to submit xstring.
But I have a little idea how to do that.
I successfully created http client by Url:

I don't quite understand what you are saying.
I don't have to read the string - the string is already in context of my Webdynpro.
The Webdynpro has to put that string on URL.
The whole purpose of it is to allow a Portal user to see PDF file every time when he open a page with that URL.
Do you know how I could send a string to URL?

i have a problem in sending a query as a mail using broadcaster in pdf format.
i am able to send 'current data as a link' ' html' 'mhtml' but unable to send pdf.
i was able to do it before. i dont know what changes happened.

We are experiencing a similar issue, but unlike the one reported above our ADS server is fine. Our issue is slightly different in that we don't even get an option to send by pdf. However this is working fine in Development and Test but not in Production.
We only have the options for Brodcast E-mail and Broadcast to the Portal with both having the same optons of HTML MHTML and online link to current data, but no option to select pdf.
Any ideas ?

Send PDF form IPad document doesnt appear in email.

I use the Ipad for sending PDF's to clients and internal coworkers
the emial looks like it makes it out looking at the sent mail from the ipad
but the attachment is compromized - outlook user says "no attachment"
If I save a draft of the email first often the sent PDF file will make it thorugh - but not always.
This was the last issue
- This is what I see in my "out box" in outlook on the PC
On the Ipad - every thing looks great.
What is the problem - ibooks - email on Ipad.- What are your sugestions.

My final solution was to post the form and offer a link to dowload/install Adobe Reader and to also offer a link for Chrome users.
* I will continue to look for a better solution, but at least the above is functioning.

Error to Send PDF file using mail

Hi all,
I create a report that send an mail with 2 different pdf attach.
I have a problem because one pdf attach is 663 KB and when I read it in mail it can not open the file and give me this error :
"Error opening PDF file --> There was an error opening this document.the file is damaged and could not be repareid "
I send the same mail with another PDF file (64,2 KB) and all it's work correct.
This files are in my application server, and this is the code that I use to read and send :

If I read the file in the following way, the problem concerning the size are bypassing.

Want to send PDF as attachement using Java Mail

HI,
I am using Java mail API for sending PDF as attachment. Here is my sample code
messageBodyPart = new MimeBodyPart();
messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler("String data for PDF using iText", "text/plain" ));
I am generating String for PDF file using iTEXT but I am unable to find out mimetype for passing into DataHandler as second paramete.
Any idea?

Don't convert the data to String. It isn't text so
you'll damage the binary content by doing that. In
the "demos" directory of your JavaMail download
you'll find a ByteArrayDataSource class you can use
instead of a FileDataSource. Yes, this worked for me. I create the pdf in memory as as StringBuffer and I just changed the code from
messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(pdf.toString(), "application/pdf"));
to
messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(new ByteArrayDataSource(pdf.toString(), "application/pdf")));
and it worked.

Print to PDF - using Snow Leopard (Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose

i have a PDF form that i created that is used as a custom proposal that my company sends out to potential clients. the form in its editable state is only used internally. we recently upgraded to snow leopard, but prior to the upgrade, we were able to fill the custom proposal form out using adobe reader, and, as you well know, we weren't able to save that edited document as a PDF with the custom form fields filled out. our work around using adobe reader was to print to a pdf using the adobe pdf printer in the printer dialog. with the addition of snow leopard, however, instead of choosing the adobe pdf printer, we were to choose PDF from the bottom left corner, then Save As PDF, and it would spit out an uneditable pdf that then allowed us to email it to the potential client without them being able to edit it as well as have an internal, digital copy for our records instead of having lots of paper floating around (i know this is also doable using security that disallows the client certain editing privileges, but printing to a pdf is much quicker and more efficient, and the pdf security isn't really that secure at its best).
in any case, i came across this gem of a post here on the support forums that installs another option from the PDF drop down on the bottom left of the print dialog menu that reads Save As Adobe PDF and is supposed to do exactly what i am trying to get it to do...print to a pdf file from adobe reader.

once i updated to acrobat 9.2 (as the link above suggests 9.1), however, the Save As Adobe PDF does appear in the print dialog menu, but it still gives me the same error that acrobat 8 - 9 gave me while using Snow Leopard — Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File > Save — and as i've already explained, you can't save an edited pdf form in reader (as i am the only one in the office with acrobat) and still keep the fields as you've entered them in. the only work around is to print to a pdf but is apparently having some recent problems.
using acrobat, however, i know that i can save the editable pdf as a new file with the fields customized as i have left them, but it still saves it as an editable pdf and the print to a pdf option still remains the best option...that way we have digital copies internally that are uneditable that can be printed at any time or emailed to the client.
how can i do print to a pdf, based on what i've written above, using snow leopard and acrobat and reader?

A simple way is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. You can do this with JavaScript or PDF Optimizer (Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects > Flatten form fields). Error while sending PDF file by Email

Hi All,
I have a requirement to send multiple files by Email attachement from SAP to internet address.
All files sent correctly, except one PDF file.
I have 2 spools, and I am using FM CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to get PDF data for Spool.
Then I am converting the 134 length PDF data to 255 Email Attachement binary table.
Now I have 2 file F1.PDF and F2.PDF, in SAP Office outbox and in receivers email, F2.PDF opening fine, however for F1.PDF I am getting some error no 109 in Adobe, which says "There was an error processing a page.There was a problem reading this document. (109)".
Please help in figuring out the reason for this.
Additional Information F2.PDF has some text data (SAP Script output) and F1.PDF has some text data with logo (SAP Script Output)

Not able to send pdf file as attachment in my apple mail.

Hi, I was easily able to attach pdf files to my apple mail. infact I could just open a pdf file and then send it as attachment in the email earlier. but after downloading and upgrading to os X Mountain lion, I am neither being able to attach and send pdf files in my apple mail, nor can I send PDF file as an attachment.
Is there any issue with OS X Mountain Lion.
Issue 1. I compose Email , then click attach > Browse > select pdf file > click attach > it shows in my Email body either as an icon or as first page of the pdf document > I send it. >>> But when the receipient opens the Email, that pdf attachment is missing. In fact When I put a cc to my self and I open the Email, the attachment is mssing in the incoming E amil.
Issue 2. I open the PDF document > Click on File > send as attachment in E-Mail > on right, a menu appears where I select the File and click attach> I get a message
The SendMail doesnot know how to talk to your default mail client. Please select a different mail application to use. Attaching a screen shot.
I never had these issues earlier with my Lion OS . but since the time I have upgraded to mountain Lion OS, I am having these issues.
Are these the Mountain Lion issues, how to fix these please.

I believe, the software team forgot to put a button for send or share as an attachment to preview.

How to Sender PDF file as attachment in Payload?

     After I done some of PI scenarios, I'm stuck with one of my requirement... In requirement, "Web service" will send request to "SAP ECC 6" in order to get PO document print out in PDF file by call smartform or any form printing as usual.
     In my understand, I'm using SOAP adapter as sender and RFC adapter in receiver side, in RFC function, I will call form and generate PDF file by using normal ABAP function, but here, how can I send PDF file as response message of SYNC call from web service.
     I try to search and read some of document and blog, some said I can attach file as Payload attachment, but no clear solution or guide to do so.

as per my blog you can attach PDF to a message only if you use abap proxy on ECC and not RFC

Can't send PDF as a mail attachment from iPad to a Lotus Notes account

Hello, I have some problems sending PDF documents as email attachments from my iPad. Using the adobe reader app for iOS, I create an email with the file attached. Sending this to e.g. a hotmail account works fine. However, if I send it to any address at my company, where Lotus Notes is the standard, the attachment seems to be converted into a text file. Is this a known issue with the reader for iPad, or should I rather be looking to IT support at my company for help?

You can open the XLS attachment in that app, then transfer the document to your Mac via the USB cable. You can then print from the Mac.
Printing from your iPad doesn't work via Bluetooth either, by the way.

Unable to send PDFs as email attachments

I have become unable to send PDFs as email attachments when using Firefox.
Depending on the PDF, I either get the message “There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.” or it opens as a blank document. This occus when opening the file with both Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro. The problem seems to be isolated to PDFs. (I am able to send Word files. If a PDF is zipped before attaching, it can be opened without problem.) This occurs on both an institutional email account and personal (Yahoo) email account. This problem is isolated to Firefox (does not happen in Chrome).
I have reset Firefox to default settings, as well as reinstalling.

Does this happen when you open the pdf in pdf.js, it is possible to change the default viewer by:

Attachment Content When sending PDF attachment in Send Mail Step

I am sending a PDF document which is on the file system using "send_mil" step . It is not executing the send_mil step with out entering anything in the Attachment Content. If i enter some thing , the Send_mil step is executed but the PDF is not opening in the received mil as it is not Properly decoded.

Hi,
Attachment Content is not Mandatory to enter unless you wish to override the Attachment Property.
Basically we use this content along with Encoded Image Property like chart, spc and image loader action block.
If you are loading file from system using Proper path in Attachment Section then no need to use Attachment Content section.
Ensure that you have set the Attachment Content Type to "application/pdf" to send pdf files and a valid File path in Attachment section.
