Use of Column Stripper with Fixed Query
Hi all,
I would like to create a PDF document. The document contains a PDF table which is filled with the XML-output of a fixed query.
When I use the column stripper to reduce te number of columns in the XML file created by a normal query it works fine.
But when I use the column stripper with a XML file created by a Fixed Query, I can't select the columns.
Do you know how to solve this?
Thanks in advance.
kind regards,

Hi Christian,
thanks for your answer. I filled the parameters in the query and created the sample XML again. Now it works fine.
Do you know if it is also possible to do so with the XML output of a transaction?
For example: I create a simple transaction with the same query as mentioned above and totalize some colums.
Creating the sample XML data of a transaction is not possible. So how can I now use the column stripper?
Kind regards,
Johan Knopper

Hi Ranendra,
For basic understanding of Dashboards and Models you can use standard Templates or samples which ll come along with dashboard designer(Formly Xcelsius) installation.
For path File-->Templates(or Samples).
Under Templates you ll have different categories and for each you ll find the dashboard Templates.

Lookup column names with Power Query
Hi,
before I go ahead and change source files, I was wondering if I can use Power Query to get a model with the following data. To simplify the example, I have the following dataset in an Excel sheet:
In another Excel sheet, the column names are defined, for example:
What would like to have in Power Query is one table with the column names from the second screenshot in column B. Is there a way to link these two tables together in Power Query in order to use these names as column headers in the dataset?
Thanks!
- If a post answers your question, please click "Mark As Answer" on that post!You can filter the list of renames against the list of actual column names with something like
FilteredColumns = Table.SelectRows(Columns, each List.Contains(Table.ColumnNames(Source), [Name])),
Again, the working end-to-end:
let
Source = Table.FromRows({{"New York", 23, 51, 732}, {"Chicago", 25, 421, 23}, {"Los Angeles", 632, 22, 423}}, {"City", "Col 1", "Col 2", "Col 3"}),
Columns = Table.FromRows({{"Col 1", "Column 1"}, {"Col 2", "Column 2"}, {"Col 3", "Column 3"}, {"Col 4", "Column 4"}}, {"Name", "Value"}),
FilteredColumns = Table.SelectRows(Columns, each List.Contains(Table.ColumnNames(Source), [Name])),

It is possible to use a column alias with a CASE in a SELECT? e.g. I have this code
SELECT
CASE WHEN categ_1 = 'BASIC' THEN total_1 WHEN categ_2 = 'BASIC' THEN total_2 END
FROM totalsBut the results column name comes out as CASEWHENCATEG_1='BASIC'THENTOTAL_1WHENCATEG_2='BASIC'THENTOTAL_2END
I want to use an alias but can't get it to work with the CASE. I guessed at
SELECT
CASE WHEN categ_1 = 'BASIC' THEN total_1 WHEN categ_2 = 'BASIC' THEN total_2 END 'alias'
FROM totalswhich doesn't work.Try without the single quotes after END

Need some help with count query
Hello,
I'm terrible @ oracle, so bear with me. I am trying to use the count function with my query but it counts rows from different tables.
I want my query to basically add a column from another table but have it not be a part of the count.
Say, table1 table2 table3. My count is right between the first two tables (Buyers,5).But since in table3 there are duplicate values(or accounts in this case(3), the count multiples by that many (15).
I need it to read Buyers,5,account #. I've tried distinct and a union but to no avail.
Help me please.If I understand you correctly, you want to count the records in table1 and table2 which have a one-to-one relationship, but you need to display additional data from table3 which has a one-to-many relationship. If this is correct, you need to use an in-line view to join table1 and table2 then join that in-line view to table3 to display the data from it. Something along the lines of:
SELECT v.col1, v.col2, v.col3, v.col4, v.cnt, t3.col1 t3col1, t3.col2 t3col2
FROM (SELECT t1.col1, t1.col2, t2.col1 col3, t2.col2 col4, COUNT(*) cnt
FROM table1 t1, table2 t2
WHERE <join conditions between t1 and t2> and
<other conditions if required>
GROUP BY t1.col1, t1.col2, t2.col1, t2.col2) v,
table3 t3
WHERE <join conditions between v and t3>
<other conditions if required>John -
WRT54GSV4 with fixed ip and dhcp
I have a WRT54GSV4 using both wired and wireless access. My situtation is I use hardware that communicate with fixed IP but the rest of my home is really more convenient to use DHCP. I set the machine to use DHCP with the IP consistent with me fixed hardware and made sure the defined IPs are withing the range but would not be assigned by DHCP. Everything works great but for VPN. I can use VPN on the DHCP machines but the defined IP machines error out and will not connect. i've looked on line but I have not found anyone with this configuration.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, SteveBthe PC that recieve the IP from the DHCP also get DNS addresses......have u assigned static DNS for the PC's with static IP's ?

How to query the sharepoint list with using lookup column

here in List A positionid is lookup column i have creating one visual web part i am querying the List A using query string as Positionid in that web part .finally what i want is i need date from list B on basis of corresponding position id here
List A Title and List B title are same i need each candidate info how can i do it
SrinivasHello,
Still you have not told that whether Position id is there in listB or not. Anyway if Poistion id is not there in list B then you have to use Title column of listA to gete data from ListB. Look at sample code below. It will first get data from ListA,
and use StringBuilder class to create dynamic CAML query because one Position id is having multiple values in listA.
query.Query = "<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='Postionid' /><Value Type='Lookup'>1</Value></Eq></Where>";
SPListItemCollection items = list.GetItems(query);
if(items.Count > 0)
foreach(SPListItem item in items)
string strTitle = Convert.Tostring(item["Title"]);
//since listA is having multiple values for Postionid so you have to build a dynamic query here to get data from listB
//Refer link to build dynamic query
SPQuery listB = new SPQuery ();
query.Query = stringbuilder;
SPListItemCollection ListBitems = listB.GetItems(query);

Above links will help you to create dynamic query (in your case you need to use multiple <OR> operator in listB.

MS SQL query slow using view column as criteria
HI,
I am experiencing a very frustrate problem. I have 2 tables, and create a view
to union these 2 tables, when do a select on this view using the column of the
view as criteria is took more 1 minutes, but the query runs fine in Qurey Analyzer.
Anybody has the same experience? is this the problem with jdbc?I searched http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/index.html, also searched the documentation
for wls6.1, wls5.1. As you pointed I searched support site, they are all the customer
case, it's not formal documentation.

Thanks. but I search on the table is fine (the same column). is thereany db setting
could be tuned? so the view is the problem? No, it's a client decision/issue. If you defined your tables to have
nvarchar columns
the jdbc driver's parameter values would be fine as-is.
I searched "useVarChars" on whole
site and can't find anything.Which site? This is a property of the weblogic.jdbc.mssqlserver4.Driver.
I just went to www.bea.com/support and entered useVarChars in the Ask

You are the magic man. It worked on wls81 now. I am sure it will curethe problem
on wls70. Is there any documentation on this? Why it is not a problemon some
databse server? ThanksSure. The issue has to do with the MS client-DBMS protocol having evolved
from
an 8-bit (7-bit really) character representation. Now it has a newer
16-bit
way, to transfer NVARCHAR data. Java characters are all 16-bit, so
by default
a JDBC driver will send Java parameters over as NVARCHAR data. This
is
crucial
for Japanese data etc. However, once simple ASCII data is transformed
to an
NVARCHAR format, the DBMS can't directly compare it to varchar data,
or use it
in index searches. The DBMS has to convert the VARCHAR data to NVARCHAR,
but it
can't guarantee that the converted data will retain the same ordering
as the index,
so the DBMS has to do a table scan!
The properties I suggested are each driver's way of allowing you
to say "I'm
a simple American ;) I am using simple varchar data so please sendmy
java
strings that way.". This allows the DBMS to use your varchar indexes
in queries.

useVarChars=true to sendStringParametersAsUnicode=false
Let me know... Also, I suggest changing the TestTableName to "SQL

For MS, that will be much more efficient than involving a full count
of sysobjects!

I have suspicions... Show me the jdbc code. I'm guessing it's
a

set

Slow Query Using index. Fast with full table Scan.
Hi;

Here's my question correctly formated.
The query:

from ehgeoconstru ec
where ec.TYPE='BAR'
AND ( ec.birthDate <= TO_DATE('2009-10-06 11:52:12', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS') )
and deathdate is null
and substr(ec.strgfd, 1, length('[CIMText')) <> '[CIMText'Runs on 32 seconds!
Same query, but with one extra where clause:
SELECT count(1)
from ehgeoconstru ec
where ec.TYPE='BAR'
and ( (ec.contextVersion = 'REALWORLD') --- ADDED HERE
AND ( ec.birthDate <= TO_DATE('2009-10-06 11:52:12', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS') ) )
and deathdate is null
and substr(ec.strgfd, 1, length('[CIMText')) <> '[CIMText'This runs in 400 seconds.
It should return data from one table, given the conditions.

Edited by: PauloSMO on 17/Nov/2009 7:38 - Changed title to be more correct.Although your optimizer_mode is choose, it appears that there are no statistics gathered on ehgeoconstru. The lack of cost estimate and estimated row counts from each step of the plan, and the "Note: rule based optimization" at the end of both plans would tend to confirm this.
Optimizer_mode choose means that if statistics are gathered then it will use the CBO, but if no statistics are present in any of the tables in the query, then the Rule Based Optimizer will be used. The RBO tends to be index happy at the best of times. I'm guessing that the index ehgeoconstru_VSN has contextversion as the leading column and also includes birthdate.
You can either gather statistics on the table (if all of the other tables have statistics) using dbms_stats.gather_table_stats, or hint the query to use a full scan instead of the index. Another alternative would be to apply a function or operation against the contextversion to preclude the use of the index. something like this:
SELECT COUNT(*)
FROM ehgeoconstru ec
WHERE ec.type='BAR' and
ec.contextVersion||'' = 'REALWORLD'
ec.birthDate <= TO_DATE('2009-10-06 11:52:12', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS') and
deathdate is null and
SUBSTR(ec.strgfd, 1, LENGTH('[CIMText')) <> '[CIMText'or perhaps UPPER(ec.contextVersion) if that would not change the rows returned.

Crystal Reports with BEx Query using Custom Exit Variable
Hi,
We have BW BEx Query using Customer User Exit variable to derive the Fiscal Week for Last Year (called it VAR2) based on another user input variable Current Fiscal Week (called it VAR1).
VAR2 is derived from VAR1 in CMOD via some codings and thus it DOES NOT have the "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx. VAR1 is user input variable, so it has "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx.
When we create a Crystal Reports with the BEx Query using variable VAR2, and when we run it we got an error message saying "Failed to execute query; '[]<java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No Selection State Support!ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK>'. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem". (note: ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK is VAR2 in this case).
Could anyone please assist? Surely, CR supports BEx customer user exit variables like the above, right?. I also refer to the forum below as it seems to have a similar issue (except mine with an error message), but it does not provide a solution in it.

We have the SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise XI4.0 Version 14.0.0. Not sure if SP0 or other SP, got to check with Basis Team later.
We tried that "mandatory" option and did not work either.
Anyway, SAP has now come back again saying it is something they will fix it in next release/version. We got a phone call from them and a reply below to our OSS.

Data table with fixed column with
I have a data table bound to a row set , and I would like the table to have fixed column widths to avoid unpleasant display shifts when paging through it.
The column component does not have too many properties I can work with (maybe this can be fixed in a future release??). Therefore I tried setting the style property of the output text object inside the column. The result looks good in the IDE, but reverts to variable column widths in the browser. I even tried setting the style property at runtime, with no luck.
Unfortunately I can't pad the column header with spaces, because output text has the annoying habit of converting any group of more than one blank space character to one char only (by the way, any remedy to that?). Trying to drop a grid or group panel in place of the column header and pad the column title with invisible (i.e. color: white) output texts did not work either...
Any ideas??
Thanks,
LucaI took a look at the html encoder for data table and here's a trick you can use:
Go to your stylesheet (by default resources/stylesheet.css: open the Resources node in the project navigator and double click on stylesheet.css).
Let's say you want three columns - so add something like the following to the stylesheet:
.colwidth1 { width: 200px }
.colwidth2 { width: 400px }
.colwidth3 { width: 300px }
Save the stylesheet (ctrl-S).
Now, back in the designer, right click and select "Refresh" to ensure that the new stylesheet edits are discovered.
Then go to the designer surface, and select the data table (make sure it's selected, not one of its children like columns or output texts - if so hit Escape to pop to parent, or just click on it directly in the app outline.)
Go to the "columnClasses" property in the property sheet - and enter "colwidth1, colwidth2, colwidth3". Note - no dots here. If you have more than 3 columns you would obviously add additional columns here.
The table should now use the desired column widths - including the browser. -
Scrollable table with fixed column headings problem
Dear list members,
A while ago I asked on this forum for a way to code a
scrollable table with fixed headings and I was kindly given the
HTML and CSS code to do that. Using the method I was given I coded
the following simple test case. It works under IE but under
Netscape the column headings scroll up instead of remaining fixed.
The code works fine in IE. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong
or if there is a workaround.
Thanks,
HarryThe method you were given will only work in IE because only
IE understands
"expression" in CSS rules.
I'm afraid things are going to be a little more complicated
for you, but
