Now we want to group certain business area under some group and for that “Consolidation of business area” functionality is given, we have grouped them , But no standard  reports are available wherein we can enter the  field consolidates business area as input field.
Please let me know that is there any more activation or further configuration required for getting consolidated business  area reports
What is the procedure to activate consolidate business area in ECC 6.0, so that we will be able to see consolidation business area as input field for future reports.

  • Business area with SAP support in SAP OSS notes #

    Dear all,
I would like to search OSS documentation which mention that SAP does not support business area anymore? anyone knows the exact OSS number for thatstatement ?
Because as far as I remember, SAP does not recommend business area. SAP advised customer to use PCA or new GL instead.
Thank you for your kind help.
    Kind regards,

Check OSS Note 321190. Here is one section:
To meet the changing requirements, we will focus the further
functional developments in Financial Accounting on the profit
center entity. With General Ledger Accounting (new) in Release SAP
ERP 2004, you can create financial statements for profit centers.
See Note 756146 for more detailed information.
o The business area will be retained in the present form. The data
and functions will continue to be available. In the context of the
use of classic General Ledger Accounting, business area accounting
(Customizing OB65 for business area financial statements, SAPF181
    and SAPF180) will continue to be supported to the known extent;
only a further development in the context of classic General Ledger
    Accounting is not planned.

  • Different tables used in Consolidation Business Rules

I was going through the documentation of different tables that needs to be maintained for consolidation business rules. I am a little confused and need some clarifications.
These are different tables that needs to be maintained for consolidation -
clcELIM - This table will tell what each source account needs to be divided into what 4 destination accounts.
clcRULES - The RULES will tell how this source account needs to be divided (percentage wise as stored in the OWNERSHIP application) into these 4 destination accounts.
clcMETHOD - This table lists down the different methods (along with their types and description) and its used in the clcRULES table
clcELIMH_- What does this table do and where does it come into picture?
*clcELIM_ - Is this same as clcELIM table mentioned above?
clcRULESH - What does this table do and where does it come into picture?
Also, what am I looking at is  what is the sequence in which these tables needs to be defined.
    For example -
    1. clcELIM has a field called RULE whose details are mentioned in clcRULES.
    2. clcRULES has a field called METHOD and I_METHOD whose detailes are mentioend in clcMETHOD.
    3. .... I am not sure what other tables do? Please fill in the gaps.
Thanks everyone for their help so far.

    Great explanation Alwin!
Since I am new to SAP BPC world and to tell the truth, consolidation world as well (I am a planning & forecasting guy), my follow up questions are -
(Sorry if the questions are naive).
So according to what you have explained, clcELIM and clcELIMH work together along with clcMETHOD to define the elimination rules for entities.
What do clcRULES and clcRULESH do?
Also you said that these are the SQL tables (clcELIM, clcRULES, clcELIMH etc.) and its advisable not to configure them directly. So what business rules from the administration side update these tables. I am sure the METHOD administration will update clcMETHOD while RULES administration will update clcRULES and clcRULESH, is that right? what about ELIM and ELIMH.
I am asking these questions since I dont have the system to work on yet but will be getting it on Monday next week. Right now I am trying to grasp as much as I can. So if you can send me some snapshots to amey420 at gmail dot com, that will be really appreciated.
Also you can send me the other documents you were talking about. I will shoot you an email as well.
Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Intercompany reconciliation by business area (ICR)

    Dears,
Our consolidation process is based on business areas (one reporting entity in our consolidation tool corresponds to one business area in SAP).
Our target is to adapt SAP ICR to this configuration : currently,  in transaction FBICS3, SAP is retrieving partner company code from trading partner code via field T001-RCOMP, we would like to retrieve it via specific tables.
We have not found any BADI for this. Shall we insert a custom user-exit for this ? Is there anyone here who is using ICR tool in this configuration?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Olivier,
There is no way to adjust the screen fields to use different field labels.
What you could do is implement BADI method MAP_COMPANY_IDS. That way you could specify your business areas as companies to be selected and the mapping logic would then translate this to the company ID. That way the corresponding open items would be selected and the company ID would be overwritten with the business area.
Alternatively you could add business area and partner business area to your ICR DB and implement BADI method CHANGE_DATA_TABLE and exchange the company ID with the business area and the partner ID with the partner business area there. In that scenario for data selection you would specify the actual company IDs but the data would be stored using the business area and partner business area.
    Best regards,
    Ralph

  • Dear Gurus, how to maintain business area for a line item?

    Hi Gurus,
Thanks for all gurus for your knowledge sharing, everyday i get new things from you gurus,

"Business Area not entered in the line item  000000012"
where i should maintain the business area details, which T-code,
my friend told me that it is a FICO related issue,Please Guide me gurus,
    Warm Regards,
    Deepak Shanmugam

    Hi Deepak
    Business Area
    Technical name: 0BUS_AREA
    Technical Data
    Available from Release
    3.0D
    Data element
    GSBER
    External hierarchy
    Not available
Business Areas in SAP are used to differentiate transactions originating from different points/lines/locations in business. Let me give some examples to elucidiate:-
A company (say, ABC) is a huge company and has a variety of businesses under it. Let us say that it typically operates in 3 different domains like machinery manufacturing, trading and assembling of machine parts.
There are 2 options here now -
    1. Either create different company codes for the 3 business operations (which would be the easiest and require no creativity)
    or
2.) Create each of these business lines into business areas (the better option).
The advantages of using the second option is:
    1. You can use these business areas if other company codes require the same areas
    2. The configuration is simpler as in case of company code, you would require to go through the entire configuration of creating Chart of Accounts, Fiscal Year variants, posting periods variants and so on. In the business area option, you just need to attach it to the company code and the rest of the details in Business area is attached by default from the company code you are using it in.
    3. Using the options in controlling (EC-PCA, Enterprise Controlling, Profit Centre Accounting), you can even draw up Balance Sheets and PL statements for your business areas and hence this is used for management accounting in some companies (like HP, Dell, etc) when it wants to know the operating profits for different business areas/lines.
The above was an example when the company wanted to separate entries according to the lines it operates in... the other case could be when it wants to find out profitability during its operations in cities and differentiates these cities into Business Areas...
Business Areas are not much relevant in FI but are much more relevant in CO.
You can define business area in
Path: Img-enterprise structure Definition--Financail Accounting --- Define Business area.
Same pathe: Assignment---Assign Business area to Consolidation business area.
Same Path: Logistics General --- Assign Business Area to Plant/Valuation Area & Division
    I hope this clears.

  • Consolidated Business Partner - AR Aging report by child partner

    Hello,
I am using the consolidated Business Partner functionality with B1 and need help with Aging reports.
I have one "mother" account setup with 4 "baby" accounts underneath it.
I want to be able to run an aging report by "baby" account, but all I get is aging for the "mother".
Does anyone have a solution for this? I hope my question was clear.
    Thank you for your help!
    John

    Hi John ,
    There  are two details :
    1. When you see the report >> Dbl click on the row ,you will see the detail of that row
or Right click on row  >> select customer receivable aging details
    2. One is selection of PLD .
Once you run customer aging report , click print preview
It will ask you to choose the selection --
    a>Receivable aging report
    b> Detail Receivable aging report
    C> Customer statement
    Select Detail receivable aging report
    Hope it helps

  • Business Area not coming in FS10N layout.

    Dear SAP Friends,
I am working in a client where "Document Splitting" was activated on the basis of "Business Area" from the 1st August,2008. In this client their is four business areas. When I am getting the balance sheet as per Business Area in F.01 every GL shown the amount as per business area & also a some of amount is shown under the not assigned head. Amount under the not assigned is total of document of having no business area.
Now my client wants that all not assigned amount should be distributed as per the business area & not assigned amount will come to zero. The field of business area is "GSBER".
Now for that I am testing it on development. I have selected on document having no business area and updated the table "BSEG" for filed "GSBER" for that business area manually through ABAP. When I am seeing the same  document under FB03 the system shows the Business Area correctly which I have given in the table. But when I see the General Ledger balance in FS10N (In layout selected business area column) the same document does not give business area in that business area column. But when I select it for details it shown the business area in that document.
Now my issue is why this is happening ? or is their any another way to do this ?
Because i have to update all of documents of before 1st, August 2008 with no business area .
Please give any solution ASAP & for helpful answer points will be surely awarded.
    Thanks & Regards in advance

    Hi,
Touching a cluster table like BSEG thru ABAP is a tricky thing.  You would need to work out all linkages to other tables for the data you are touching, would suggest a where used for field business area and update all other tables relevant to the data, like BSI* and BSA*.
For FS10N, the data is not read from BSEG but rather from the totals tables like GLT0.
    Cheers

  • Business area redundancy

    Hi All,
I am having one query regarding Business area as SAP is not going to support Business area in future and stressing the use of profit center so pls tell in that case:
    1. How we will fetch the balance sheet on the basis of business area & Trial balance.
    2. Is it specific for versionn currently we are using 4.7C we are not on ECC6. Is this recommendation for all or for ECC6 version.
Mention the specific note issued for this by SAP.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Meenakshi

    Hello Meenakshi
If I understood your question properly, here is the answer:
    1)     With the introduction of any ERP system, including SAP system, the word u201CTrial Balanceu201D is obsolete (outdated) , in the sense the G/L balances of all G/L Accounts are always in balance. The more appropriate word would be u201CG/L Balances instead of erstwhile Trail Balance.
    2)     If implemented properly, one will get accurate & complete balance sheet for each business area (BA).
    3)     Your second question is some what unclear, hence my comments would be: What is understood from SAP that they will not develop further the functionalities of BA. However existing functionalities will continue to appear irrespective of any version.
Hope the matter is clear otherwise write with full but specific details.

  • Business area & profit center

    hi sap gurus,
When it is useful to activate new Profitcenter & when it is useful to activate Business Area.
Can any body narrate difference and benefts of each
    Thanks & Regards
    krishna.

    Hi,
Profit center and business are org units and both are used for similar purposes.
Business area is gared on external accounting where as profit centers are used for internal accounting purposes
    Business Area
Based on the above we can prepare Balance sheet and profit
centre for separate product segment, geographical segment
etc.  In India for certain companies it is the external
    reporting.
    Profit Centre
Based on the above responsble profit centre derive the
profit (only profit) (revenue minus expenses).  Internal
    reporting
