Use of Personalization Tab in PFCG

Hello All,
My query is regarding how to use the Personalization tab in PFCG. How to build the personalization object et all and link to a role?
The requirement is to build a list of accessable objects (thru a function module, say list of positions accessable) and link it as a personalisation object to the role.

For the usage in your coding check class CL_PERS_ADMIN in SE80. The method for verifying the roles personalization is GET_OBJECT_ROLE.

Personalization tab was mostly used to give standard access for end users. Like ouptup devices, Printer type .... if you need more please look in to the following link.
This tab is common to both Role and user management.

MiniApps is nothing but to use a frequently user sap standared URLs, Commonly used applications stored in the table SW3M_ADMIN.

Capture who changed data using Forms Personalization & changed to what data

Dear All,
When the data is changed to a new data (say the price has been changed), I need to capture
a) the original data
b) newly changed data
c) who changed the data
into a newly created custom table using FORMS PERSONALIZATION.
How do I do using FORMS PERSONALIZATION?

Hey guys, I did it.... and it does work. Here is what I did.
I created a table to capture the required data.

Click APPLY NOW button. Save it and the close this FORMS PERSONALIZATION. Go back to the navigation and then click on the module. Try changing the price.
Your current and the newly changed price along with who changed it, time etc will be inserted into XYKA_PRICE_CHANGE_DTLS table.

How to hide taxid column using oaf personalization

Hi, I need to hide tax id coulumn in supplier page in R12 for all applications except 2-3 responsibilities, can I set rendered to false on organization level and only set rendered to true for those 2-3 responsibilities at responsibility level? Do I need to sign in separately in these 2-3 responsibillities and turn rendered to true separately? Is there a good and better way to do it?

First find the full path of the page you want to personalize (ie /oracle/apps/.../) then using functional admin, go to the "Personalization" tab.
1) application catalog subtab, enter your path in the field "document path". Click GO to conduct the search
2) Click on the personalize page icon (pencil)
3) Under choose personalization context page, there is a field called responsibility. From here set the value to the desired responsibility. Here you can also set the org value.
4) Select apply. The page will look as though you had selected the "Personalize page" link from the page itself. Any personalizations you perform will then be within the contexts you have defined under step 3

A lot of memory is used when multiple tabs are open

Is there anything that can be done about the insane memory usage in Firefox when multiple tabs are open? I often have 20+ tabs open and the amount of RAM that Firefox uses when I have it open with this many tabs is just ridiculous. As an example of this, I just restarted Firefox after checking the Windows Task Manager. The Task manager said that Firefox was using 1.2 GB of RAM. I did have 32 tabs open, but this seems excessive even for this many tabs. Some of the tabs were image heavy, but none of them had any video in them. I'd think 10 MB per tab of RAM would be plenty to cover these kinds of pages, maybe 20 MB at most. The upper end of that range would be 640 MB of RAM. Instead, it appears to be using an average of 40 MB of RAM per page when this many tabs are open.
Is there anything that can be done to reduce amount of memory being used when multiple tabs are open? It really shouldn't need this much RAM to serve this many pages.

Is it possible to launch a form from an OAF page using OAF Personalization

In R11, the Customer Standard form ARXCUDCI was customized to call a custom block from the Address screen. In R12 the customer standard form has become an OAF page. We have decided to create a custom form for the custom block using Oracle Developer. However we need a mechanism to call this custom form from the Customer Standard OAF page.
My query is if it is possible to call a custom form from an OAF page using OAF personalization only (i.e. without directly customizing the code of the OAF page)

Dear Apurba,
I have made some progress.
I have open the Customers OAF Page, queried a customer, selected a site and opened it.
Then chose Personalize "Account Site Address"
There I added a Button on the Header Address level
ID=XXTVL_LASSY_BUTTON
Populated the Additional Text and Prompt properties.
Also set Destination URI=form:SYSADMIN:SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR:STANDARD:FND_FNDMNMNU.
The button is now showing in the address page, and when I click on it it opens the seeded Menu form.
I now have to create the custom form and set Destination URI to the Custom Form.
I am also aware how to add parameters to Destination URI.
But could you let me know how to read the value from a OAF page form field and reference it in Destination URI.
I need the value of PARTY_SITE_ID of the Address OAF page.
Alternatively, the Site Number is displayed on the OAF page. If I can read it that will also do. I can use the Site Number in the custom form rather than PARTY_SITE_ID

How do i link to a specific tab using the spry tabbed widget

Hello i'm working on a microsite using the spry tabbed widget. I'm having trouble figuring out how to link to a specific tab using a an external link.

for example: if i wanted to give a user a url link specifically tab#2.
Im sure this is really easy i just can't seem to figure it out.

I would like to know if there is a setting i can change that will use the current tab i'm on when opening a group of links in tabs.

Until i upgraded to firefox 8, when i opened a group of tabs (right click on a folder of bookmarks and open all in tabs option), it would use the current tab to as the first of the links and open the rest to the right of that tab. Now that has changed. I don't mind except for not using the tab i'm on. That is somewhat annoying, especially if that is how i browse most of the time. As the first thing i do is open a group of tabs when i start firefox, the first tab has to be closed manually as it did not before and this is annoying to me.

I am doing one form personalization in which an item can be entered multiple times in with different released quantity and need by date.
I want to calculate the sum of release quantity of items.
How I can achieve this using form personalization?

Here's another way to do this:
1) Create another formula and place this on the Details Section:

I want to set Firefox to never remember history. When I do this using the tools tab and click okay, it goes right back to "Use Custom Settings for History". I don't want that.

I know how to manage privacy using the tools tab at the top of the address bar, or so I thought. I want to choose "Never Remember History". When I do that, and click "OK", the next time I check the privacy settings, the history is right back to "Use custom settings for history". I don't want this. Also, I don't want to use autocomplete for forms, but I can't get those settings to stay, either. I basically don't want info. stored on this computer. My system was hacked several months ago, by some joker who named all my system folders a racist slur (I reported it to Norton, and a technician had a look at it). Anyway, I want to keep things as safe as possible. Please allow me to delete all my history when I close Firefox. I don't really like Google, either, because they have a reputation for not respecting people's privacy. I don't like that I didn't have an option to uncheck google's toolbar when I installed Firefox.

That is probably OK.<br />
You may have changed one of the other history or cookie settings.
If Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting then that is an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings are not the default to make you aware that changes were made.

ThanksIf you actually go into the Advanced tab you will find some meaningful descriptions against everything on it.
'That XML Thing' , its the definition of your report, criteria panel, views on the results tab.
