Use of rebates in externam service management (ESM)
Hi , we try to set-up rebates in ESM.
In the IMG, there are other condition types in ESM than in the normal purchasing
When I try to create a condition type for rebates in ESM (eg similar to the A001 in normal purchasing) , I get an error.
Via debugging , found out that there is a hardcoded check which does not allow rebate condition types (condition class 'C') for application MS (ESM). Needs to be application type M (purchasing)
So,
- As a result, although I created a rebate agreement for my ESM vendor via MEB1 and entered scale conditions for condition type A001 , the condition type A001 is not picked up in the PO service line item.
Reason : A001 is not part of the calculation schema for service line items.
Can we conclude here that it's not possible to use rebates for service line items ?
- If that's the conclusion, should it maybe be done in another way . Tried to use the conditions on header level but also no success
Thanks in advance
Dirk
Hello.
I dont know how internally they interact but SQL Server SID is concept which basically provides privilege to SQL Server service rather than to account running it.Below links might be helpful
blogs.technet.com/b/pfelatam/archive/2013/04/09/191-privileges-on-the-service-sid-or-on-the-sql-service-account.aspx

SID are basically windows security level concept which is also implemented in SQL Server

Hello,
I am using Azure Python SDK to perform calls to ServiceManagement APIs.
I have a .publishsettings file generated for my account which includes an encoded version of my X509 certificate and all of my subscription IDs.
How can I retrieve/compute an X509 certificate's thumbprint in Python?
Following is the code snippet that helps us do it in .Net.
Is there a similar approach to do it in Python?
var publishSettingsFile = @"C:\temp\CORP DPE Account-11-16-2011-credentials.publishsettings";
XDocument xdoc = XDocument.Load(publishSettingsFile);
var managementCertbase64string = xdoc.Descendants("PublishProfile").Single().Attribute("ManagementCertificate").Value;
var importedCert = new X509Certificate2(Convert.FromBase64String(managementCertbase64string));
thumbprint = importedCert.Thumbprint;
Once I have the thumbprint, how can I use that thumbprint to access Service Management APIs from Python SDK?
Thank you in Advance!

i'm a subscriber to creative cloud with cs6, but i'm getting an annoying popup trying to run "cs5 service manager", how do i stop this?
You might uninstall any CS5 products on the system you don't use anymore. The CS5 service manager checks online services for CS5 products.

Service Manager 2012 R2 Performance Analysis
Hi Team
i'm wondering if we have thresholds created for "Performance Analysis of Logs" Tool to analyse performance of a Service Manager
instance ? or is there any known parameters that we can use to measure performance on Service Manager using built-in Performance Monitor on Windows Server ?Hi,
From the website I did not find a threshold file for Service Manager. You could create a custom threshold file or email the developer at
[email protected]
Moreover, Operations Manager is a good borther for monitoring the Performance.
For more information, please review the links below:

Is there a way to trick MS Service Manager 2012 to use SQL Server 2014 when installing it?
I recently set up a virtual Lab on my laptop. I dont have much resources on my laptop and can only have around 5 servers. the problem is that i already set up SQL Server 2014 standalone and configured all of my services to use that server which works
fine. however when i try to install MS Service Manager 2012 it throws "SQL has to be either 2012 or 2008" error ..
is there a way for me to trick the Registry so Service Manager will install?
Thank youI don't know a trick to install SCSM 2012 on a SQL Server 2014. But maybe you can use a SQL Server 2012 for installation temporary and move the db after installation is done to your SQL Server 2014?
Moving the Service Manager and DW Databases
Might be worth a try. But it's definitely not recommended for a productive environment!

KashHi clemens,
Actually I installed OracleWebServices_Manager_4_0_3 and I see my installation directory does not contain any of the directory structure you mention.
It installed oracle web services manager in the following location:
C:\coresv_install_home
and it contains the following subdirectories:
1)bin
2)config
3)db
4)ears
5)external
6)extlicences
7)lib
8)samples
9)scripts
10)wars
So I like to ask did you install the same version of the oracle web services manager, if not which version you install in which security is working for you.Thanks for any help.

Error in HelloWorld service using oracle web services manager(Test Engine)
Hi All,
I deployed simple hello world web services on jwsdp2.0 and it is running at the following end point address :
http://localhost:8080/jaxrpc-HelloWorld/hello
When I use the Test engine provided by oracle web services manager to test this web service,Then I got the following response:
<Result><ServiceResult name="sayHelloBack"><Data>Could not send: JAXRPCSERVLET28: Missing port information</Data></ServiceResult></Result>
I am just wondering what is the cause of this behavior?Is it because of compatibility problem between oracle and jwsdp2.0 based web services?As I mentioned earlier that HelloWorld Service is running under jwsdp2.0 & tomcat50-jwsdp and it works fine from jwsdp2.0 based client.I would appreciate your reply.Thanks.
KashifI had the same problem, but adding the ant/lib directory to classpath helped.

Dear All,
I have a simple Runbook with the following details:
Initialize Data: (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name) --> Create User: Name:(Domain), Common Name, Display Name, First, Last Name, SAM Account Name (From Initialize Data) --> Enable
User: Distinguished Name --> Add User to Group: Group Distinguished Name, User Distinguished Name
Active Directory Management Pack in place and the Prerequisites Configurations are added Too (Configuration User Name, Configuration Password, Configuration DC, Configuration Default OU.
The Runbook is Synched with Service Manager, Request Offering/Service Offering and published to the portal.
When I filled the 4 required values (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name), the Runbook will kick off and the user is created in Active Directory.
The user is placed in the Default OU which is predefined in AD Prerequisites Configurations in Orchestrator.
I need to add another Required Value to my Request Offering (SR) called User Level Enum List (Low, Medium, High).
I need to place the user in a Specific OU based on the Level entered from SSPortal, If the user is Low, then Create the user in this OU, if the user is Medium then create it in this OU, etc...
How can I do this in Orchestrator? What I want to modify in my runbook to accomplish this task?
Thank you,I AM TRYING TO USER/MAILBOX CREATION PROCESS, FOLLOWING IS THE BUSINESS REQUIREMENT
GET THE USER FROM ERP SYSTEM (SQL)
CREATE USER IN SPECIFIC OU

Using emails to create service requests in Service Manager 2012 R2
I have a portal form created and am able to direct the flow of service requests to the proper service request fulfillment view. I cannot see an obvious way to take in emails and create service requests, they always create incident requests. Any thoughts?
Service requests are meant to be a well defined process which is hard to achive with an email (because the sender can write anything). With that being said the
3.0 RTM exchange connector should be able to create service requests. From the documentation:
Service Manager. Exchange Connector 3.0 contains bug fixes and the initial set of features, which includes the following capabilities:
Create incidents and service requests from email.
