Use Performance Tool to check memory problem

Hi, I am new to mac programming.
How can I use the performance to check memory problem such as "uninitialized memory read", "memory access out of array boundary" etc?

Don't know about source code analyzer, but dbx, the Sun Studio debugger, is capable of detecting memory leaks at run time. You can use bcheck script on your application or start dbx, issue "check -leaks" and then run your app under dbx.

Tool to check memory leak

One of tmy applications has memory leak sometimes, not always. I find most tools to check the memory leak needs to reproduce the leak, but now I can not reproduce this issue, is there any tool to analyze the source code to find the memory leak?

Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run a tests on the Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.

Performance Tools for Weblogic

Hello All!
I need help! I am trying to find out which of the tools is better
suited for me to be able to do performance testing of an application
under load.
I am looking for a tool that can provide me detailed application
performance metrics. Seems like both Insight and Perform Assure can do
this job for me.
If any of you have had experience with using performance tools such as
Prescise Insight or Sitraka's Perform Assure I would appreciate any
input you might have on your usage experience of these tools.
Also if you know of any other tools that might provide similar
information such as the above tools, that would be really helpful.

Thanks for your input! Sounds like you are probably using these
products.
I saw the PerformAssure demo. Their GUI is very slick!! PerformAssure
does some cool stuff like comparing EJB metrics with system metrics
and were able to show me the EJB method that was causing a problem
with a petstore application.
I heard about this new tool from a company called Performant
(http://www.performant.com). I am signed up for a demo with these
folks. Will let you all know what I find.
I looked at Wily site and didn't persue them as they seem to be
deployable in the production environment. Our application is not live
yet, but we want to be able to make sure it can handle good load ;)

SOS! MEMORY PROBLEM AFTER NET USAGE!

Hi all, I'm using Nokia 5233 purchased in November 2010. Recently i have also updated the phone software to latest version 40.0.1. My problem is as follows: I use the net very frequently sites like facebook, gmail, yahoo chat, rediffmail and google. Before i use the net i check memory available, after using the net when i check again, a few mb space is taken up.
To check this i downloaded NETQIN mobile guard from OVI store, after checking i found that there is a file named WebpageIcons.db in the directory path C:/Private/10008d39, this file keeps increasing each time i use the net. Its eating up my valuable memory space. I contacted Nokia care, they said its a necessary file,but i want to know why it keeps eating into memory space. Also is there any way to clear out the space used by the file. I have tried emptying the cache and all privacy details, but nothing changed.today morning it was 7.8 mb and now as i'm typing i saw it has become 8.1 mb.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

Memory problem if OLE-object references to WMF files

Hi there,
I have a report with an OLE object containing WMFs.
The graphic files are variable and their name is loaded from the database during runtime (path + filename).
Running the report leads to 185 pages, each one containing a different WMF.
If I preview the report in CR, everything looks fine.
If I print the report, the OLE object / graphic is left empty....
If I export the report to PDF (as an example) I get the error message 'memory full'. Reducing the data set to ~50, the PDF is created. But the pictures get resized (much bigger) and only parts are visible.
The machine I'm using doesn't have any memory problems.
The WM files are only 3 to 12 KB each.
If I convert the WMFs to JPG and use these within the report it works...
Problem with this: a loss of quality (it is necessary to stretch the pictures to certain size)

Format the pictures outside of CR for best results.

Indesign cc memory problems ...

I was previously using Indesign CS6 with no memory problems. I uninstalled CS6 and installed CC when two days after it had become available. I have installed all updates to indesign. I have this installed on two systems.
1) Laptop: Windows 7 64-bit, 4Mb RAM, 1.65 GHz
2) Desktop: Windows 7 64-bit, 6Mb RAM, quad core 2.0 GHz
This same issue is occuring on both systems, open indesign 64-bit, and a small document (5 pages of text) and the system memory is consumed until nothing is left. On the laptop I run both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions indesign that were installed, same issues.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and is there a work around?

Why would saving in compatibility modes make a difference???
It's not recommended to open older files Directly in a newer verison. The workflow for migrating older files to a newer version has always been to export the file from Old Indesign as an IDML file and then open that in the New InDesign.

Click Save.
You can open the saved IDML file in InDesign CS5 and InDesign CS4 but not in any previous version of InDesign.

More jrun using up memory problems

There seem to be a lot of problems like this but everyone's situation seems to be a little different. It makes it hard to find solutions. Here is what we are dealing with.
We are taking an XML file containing product data and importing it into a SQL 2000 database. The xml file is about 6mb and it has product data for about 4700 products. When we wrote the import we were running coldfusion 7 standard updated to 7.02. We run the import every night and it seemed to run fine. It took about 45 minutes to run but the server didn't crash. We just recently upgraded to cf 9 standard. After the upgrade when the import ran we were seeing lots of out of memory errors in the log. The second night it ran coldfusion had to be restarted.
We setup a testing server and ran the import there and watched the memory usage of jrun. As the import ran memory usage kept climbing until it reached the max heap size. After this the import got very slow and eventually coldfusion became completely unresponsive.
We changed the import so that it would do the products in smaller batches as separate requests. This seemed to be the answer. Between the requests the memory usage would drop down some and the whole thing was able to run without using up all the available memory. The import also takes a lot less time now that the memory usage isn't so high. We thought we had it fixed so we started running it on the production server.
After a couple days we noticed that our memory usage was very high on the production server. We went back to the testing server and ran the import a few times. After this we could see that each time it was run the memory usage would increase. After about 4 times the memory reached the max heap size and coldfusion became unresponsive. The memory usage never goes back down.

Some things to check / consider.
1. What are your JVM settings? What is your Maximum JVM Heap Size? If you are using the default value, 512 MB, consider a larger value. On a 32 bit server the upper limit is 1.8 GB. A 64 bit server can allocate more memory to the JVM, but I haven't seen any documentation that specifies the upper limits on 64 bit. (If anyone can point me to some info on this I'd be grateful.)
2. Consider moving the XML to SQL import process off of ColdFusion to another tool.
Some options:
a. A SQL Server DTS package
b. Use the bulk insert feature of SQL Server
c. Use a third party tool such as Altova Mapforce

Report (uses LDB's) giving dump due to memory problem

I have a report which is giving dump in production due to memory problem.
Memory is increased from basis part,but still getting same error.
the report uses Logical DataBases.
Can anyone suggest solution to solve this problem.

Evolution MK449C Mod Wheel problem with Logic Pro/VSL Performance Tool

I'm using the latest version of Logic Pro on a new Intel Mac Pro. My controller keyboard is the Evolution MK449C, connected via a USB cable.
When using a Logic Audio Instrument assigned to the ESX Sampler Plug-in (running various samples, mostly from the Vienna Symphonic Library,) Logic's Transport Window doesn't register any modulation information generated from my keyboard.
As the VSL Performance Tool relies heavily on the Mod Wheel info to effect the sounds, I'm at a bit of a loss to spot the solution. When I assign a different conroller to the Mod Wheel, i.e. volume, pan, pitch bend, etc., I can see the info in the Transport Window with no problem, so I know the wheel itself is working okay.
Has either Logic or the ESX got some kind of controller filter, - maybe I've accidently turned something on that cuts out any incoming modulation. Can anyone help?

I've been poking around and I've also noticed this: If I create a cello part in Garageband, articulation works everytime I open it. If I take that Garageband song and open it in Logic, articulation still works everytime I open it. The Logic file in this instance is saved as a "Logic Song." I don't know how to tell, but I'm assuming the Logic song is drawing it's sound files from the Garageband song (I don't know how to check that).
However, if I save the newly created Logic song as a project - with all sound files being copied to folders within a master project folder - articulation does not work when I reopen the file.
Strange. And frustrating.

Is there any performance monitoring tool to check content db size ?

I have following scenario :
Check volume and size of content uploaded onto the SharePoint content DB including some form of resource
details like content types,docs.
Questions :
Can anyone please let me know how can we set alert when SharePoint content DB get increased ? Is there any Free Performance Tool is available which can complete the task in the above
scenario ?

Please Let know the configurations to generate the XMLs. We are not able to create more than 70 users N-way IM conference though during configuration, we opted for 300 users conference for Large Conference (in custom setting).
The tool somehow does not create the number of participants as indicated. Is there any way to troubleshoot why it's not generating the expected load.

called Validating Signatures and Validating Certified Documents.
Can't find it in the customization tool and don't want to change this on 650 workstations.
If I could change a registry key or change it in the installation it would help alot.

My first reply was empty because i responded to the email I received saying this thread (is that the right terminology?) was updated. Obviously that email didn't get added, just a blank line....
Then I replied to this thread directly on Friday and that seems to have disappeared. Maybe I just don't know how to use a computer? Better sell the technology company I own LOL.
Ok so it seems the screen is normal, (not maximized). When I unlock and drop my start bar to one row, then the top of the screen pops down to inside my visible monitor space and it is not maximized. This allows me to drag it to another monitor and then maximize it there, then put my start bar back and relock it. This is the only way I can move the window, if I don't shrink my start bar, then I have zero access to the top bars of the document!
Currently I can not reproduce the problem ( I might have temporarily fixed it with my start bar reducing and then moving documents), so maybe it is permanently fixed....
Maybe a reboot will bring the problem back... It has been intermittent for about 6 months.

I know you can't help with my Yahoo problem, however, apparently at some time in the past I have went to the Sync and tried to figure it out on both my laptop and my desktop, because I have the long snyc key information. However, when I go to try to sync both computers I never get the box to enter that key on either one. That is my problem. So should I try and get a new sync key and see if that works.
