Use SiteStudio Fragments in Webcenter

Hi,
according to this post it is possible to use SiteStudio fragments in Webcenter Portal.

But according to the Oracle documentation it is only possible to use Site Studio region definitions-based content.

Hi Tobi,
first of all, I'm afraid you walk a path not trodden often before, if ever. So, all results are not guaranteed.
Nevertheless, the idea is not to create "a different Webcenter Portal application", but rather create an app which is both WebCenter Portal and SSXA application. I guess you are probably familiar with how to create a WebCenter Portal App (if not, here is a good starting point: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/toc.htm ) Now, to make it also a SSXA app, you will have to add SSXA (Site Studio) as an additional Project Technology (see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/createapp.htm#CCHEGDIC , figure 3-5).
What could go wrong? I have read somewhere that Ctrl - Shift - C (entering contributor's mode) does not work well in WebCenter Portal Apps (assumptions were that there was some javascript conflict). Personally, I see no reason why fragments should not work, but you won't know until you try.
If the way above fails, you will need to "wrap" fragments to some higher-level object (region template, or even a region), which should be OK.
P.S. are you in any relation with Josef Huber, ex-Stellent country lead in Germany?

Actually in my project we have total 9 tables are there in these 9 tables 3 were FACT tables remaining are the Dimensional Tables.
For each day we are getting around 7 to 8 lacks data into our DB.
When ever client to see or to pull one month data its taking around 9 to 10 mins , but for pulling one day or one week its taking less then 20 sec only .
So for improving response time what are the steps i need to follow, could you please guide me.
For each Fact and each Dimensional tables i'm using single logical source only and am not using multiple logical sources .In each fact table for 10 or 15 colums am using sum function only, at max am doing sum claculations for 20 columns in both fact tables..
why its taking time to show results ..is there any way to reduce these response time..
Culd you pls suggest me..we are working on OBIEE 10.1.3.4

How to use search fragments in WCM

Hi,
I am trying to use sample fragments named search box plain and search result plain while creating my site in hcsp.
I am unable to integrate these two fragments.
whenever i pass a query, i get the message No documents match your search criteria.

These fragments are read only (to be used as templates) you need to right click on the fragment and select "Copy and Edit", you can then save this as an editable fragment for your use. Once you have done this you can then edit it to suit your needs (even better create one from scratch, you will learn a lot from doing that).
Also you may want to look at the parameter ssResultsPage and check the Query Text there. The default is (xWebsiteObjectType <Matches> 'Layout File') so if your search text is not in any Layout File name then you won't find any documents.

I used the same ateam code for creating the page in portal framework, it works fine there, but if i use the same code in webcenter spaces 11.1.1.8 it is not working and in that ateam code they are passing null to the parent page path and i tried all these entries for the parent page path in webcenter spaces but nothing worked.

Using PDF's with Webcenter Imaging

Hey
We are installing an automated AP solution using WebCenter imaging and our client has dictated that invoices must be scanned to PDF to comply with State Govt requirements. However, this conflicts with our IPM build as we are using WebCenter Capture and it only inputs invoices in TIF format. We have told them that we can scan to TIF and output PDF using the ODC/OFR, or by converting them using IBR when the image hits WCC. The Record Manager is adamant though, and this conversation is ongoing.
In the meantime, I am trying to think laterally to find a technical solution. The only two ideas I have so far are:
1. Use Import Server to conver scanned PDF's to TIF before batching them up.
2. Use a third party solution to create a TIF copy of the PDF after scanning.
I'm not really happy with either idea, so I thought I'd seek the advice of the collective. Surely this must be a common-ish problem.

to be precise, ODC allows inputs (in a scan profile) of TIFF, JPEG, PCX, or BMP (see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10316_01/capture/odcad.pdf page 11-4)
If you have images already in PDF (I guess it will be PDF/A with textual layer), the first question is: why you want to use Capture at all? Is it because you want to extract some metadata from the image? Maybe, you could, then, use OutsideIn to convert PDFs into XML (or plain text) and get your metadata from there. Afterwards, you would upload your PDF with obtained metadata directly to Imaging.
I also think that Import Server does not convert file format, but rather takes the file and adds in to a batch (for indexing/committing), so on condition that it can grab PDFs, you should be good to go with Import Server as such - it's been a while since I've done something with Import Server, so I'm not sure of all details. If you have an environment up and running, it should be easy to verify. Either way, Import and Scan are the only options to get inputs into batches, so if Import does not work for you, you can't use Capture anyway.

How to use resource of in Webcenter Space into one of its Child Spaces

I have a requirement for using the Spaces resources(Navigation Model,Skin ) that are created at the Sub Space level to be used in the Child Sub Spaces.
For eg.,
Consider the example where i have a sub Space "A". This space has the Resources like navigation N1, Skin S1 and Page template P1 created at the scope of the Space. Also this Space has 3 Sub Spaces, A1,A2,A3.
My requirement is to use the Navigation model "N1" ,Skin "S1" and Page template "P1" of the Parent Space "A" at the Sub Space level with the Spaces "A1","A2","A3"

For some resources this is possible like the navigation model. When you edit a navigation model, you can add the navigation model of a different space to the current navigation model. Just select navigation model reference when editing a navigation model and you should be able to select whatever space you want.
Resources like resource catalog, page templates and skins can not be selected from the parent.
There is, however a workaround for this and that is creating your resource at the highest level possible in spaces. This is done in the resource section in the administration section of webcenter spaces. Not the admin of a specific space, the admiinistration section of the environment. From there you shoiuld be able to create navigation models, skins, resource catalogs and so on that can be used in every space.

Call one of the Schema services (such as GET_SCHEMA_VIEW_VALUES) and you will get back a ResultSet which you can iterate over.
