Use string as url

Hello,
Im looking for a help. Im creating a GUI in Java Studio creator 2 and I need to comunicate with ArcIms. I have prepared URL adress with parameter as a string and I need tu use it as a start page.
String url_1 = .....164.10.161/website/olk_hzs/viewer.htm?ActiveLayer=77&Query=KOD_OBCE%3D%27";
String url_2 = "%27&QueryZoom=Yes";
Object obec = null;
obec = obceDataProvider2.getValue("KOD_OBCE");
String odkaz = url_1 + obec + url_2;
Im starting a web browser using Runtime.getRuntime() I have no problem with starting the browser, but the start page is the same as a page where I placed a hypertext.
Thanks for any help.
Regards Kamil

I trying but it doesnt work. Is this code ok?
String command = "C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE + odkaz";

• Dynamic String in URL of Plain HTTP adatper

Hi, buddies.
Recently we are trying to interact with a system by using the GET method of HTTP. Thus the string of URL maybe vary. Can I acheive that in plain http adapter?
Thanks in advance.

Since we sill use the Get method of HTTP, all the information we send to the external system should be through the URL address.
For instance, if I want to check the information of user userA, the URL gonna be
http://hostname:8000/infoquery?username=userA
if I want to check the information of user userB, the URL gonna be
http://hostname:8000/infoquery?username=userB
My problem is, how can I use the variable string (userA/userB in the above example) in the URL or Http Destination?
Actually I found following information in sap help:
● If you want to use an HTTP destination or URL set by the mapping, set the URL or HTTP Destination indicator. (The indicator displayed depends on the Addressing Type you selected above). If you set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination set dynamically is called by HTTP.
If the message header does not contain the URL or the HTTP destination, and you have set the Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing indicator, the XI message is set to status System Error. If you do not set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination defined statically in the communication channel is used.
The technical names of the fields are:
○     URL: TargetURL
○     HTTP Destination: HTTPDest
But I haven't figured how it works out.

• Substitution String in URL

I would like to use Substitution String in url,
I defined Substitution String Name => #APPSERVERNAME#
and its value as => 100.77.33.22
and URL link as
http://&APPSERVERNAME.:7777/pls/apex/f?p=108:72:&SESSION.:::::
but the like is like
http://:7777/pls/apex/f?p=108:72:&SESSION.:::::
has anyone an idea?
regards

Hello,
In Shared Components - Definition - Substitution String: HOST - value: 100.77.33.22
Reference it like &HOST.
So I guess if you take out the # it should work.

• Using &SESSION. in URL

I've got a little table with links and labels that I base several reports off of. One of the links is to a page in the application, and the page the report is on needs to be authenticated, and I'd like to pass the session id in the url to this other page in the application, as it should be authenticated as well, but I'd like to have the users not have to log into this other page that is linked from the report.
Long story short, I have my url: <server_info, dad, blah blah blah>/f?p=100:4:&SESSION.
But it doesn't actually pull the sesson id, it just uses that literal URL. Is this something that should be possible?
thanks.

I'm not sure I understand your solution. My region source is: Select url, date_added, link_label from team_links where link_type = 'HTML' order by link_label;
Then in my report, I have date_added and link_label as columns. The link_label column is a link. Link text is #LINK_LABEL# and the target is a URL. The value in that field is #URL#. I then have an updateable report page where these links can be added/updated. When I entered the URL for this particular link that's supposed to go to another page in the application, I tried using the &SESSION. substitution string at the end of the URL. I've also tried v('APP_SESSION') and :APP_SESSION. I'm obviously missing something, or maybe I'm trying to do something impossible.
thanks

• How to set up use of relative URLs for a BSP application

Dear all,
I need to access a BSP application through our external portal.
This is failing because generated URLs are absolute URLs (they mention physical server name, not known of course on the internet) where they should be relative URLs (they use external portal URL as prefix).
How to set this up?
I'm logged on http://myportal.com/irj/portal and want to call a BSP application. To build this page, my internet client (Internet Explorer) tries to get elements from the server. Looking at HTTP trace, I can see that my IE is trying to reach the physical server, not known on internet of course, then page loading fails.
Ex absolute URL : http://myservername.domain.com/sap/bw/[...]/image1.gif
This is the behavior I can see at the moment.
Relative URL : http://myportal.com/sap/bw/[...]/image1.gif
This is what I'd like to see.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

This issue is observed only while running the code in server, not from Jdev.
When we append the additional tags without new line character, "\n", there are no extra characters being added. Also, in other case also. where we used "Marshaller" to prepare the XML, we have seen this issue.
After we set the below property to false, we got rid of the extra characters.
jaxbMarshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FORMATTED_OUTPUT, false);
Apparently the insertion of new line when the code runs on server(Weblogic 10.3.6.0) is creating the issue.
Please let me know if anyone has come across a similar scenario.
Thanks,

I am building this XML in a servlet so ,right, DOM does process XML (even though a valid HTML file can be loaded into a DOM object) but if you build XML using DOM then write the XML out using PrintWriter and Transformer objects this will cause the XML to print out in your browser. If you view source on this XML you will see that the DOM object has translated all special characters to there &xxxx; equivalent. For a example: when the string (I know "cool" java) gets loaded into a attribute using the DOM object then wrote back out it looks like (I know &xxx;cool&xxx; java) if you view the source in your browser. This is what it should do, but the DOM object is not change the to the "&xxxxx;". This servlet is acting as a gateway between a Java API and a windows asp. The asp will call the servlet expecting to get XML back and load it directly into a DOM object. When the windows DOM object gets the xml that I am returning in this servlet is throws a exception "invalid character" because the was not translated to &xxxx; like the other characters were. According to the book HTML 4 in 24 hours (and other references) the eacute; or #233; are how you say "" in HTML or XML. How do you say it?

i need to read the data as an individual strings and i need to pass those values to diffarent labels,the dat in Data3 i have to read those values and add to an table datamodel as 6 columns and rows depends on the data.
i try to retrieve data using buffered reader and inputstream reader,but only the way i am retrieving data as an big string of entire line ,i tried with stringtokenizer but some how i was failed to retrive the data in a way i want,any help would be appreciated.
Regards,

Hmmm... looks like the file format isn't even very consistent... why the semicolon after Data1 but not after Data2 or Data3??
Your algorithm is reading character-by-character, and most of the time it's easier to let a StringTokenizer or StreamTokenizer do the work of lexical analysis and let you focus on the parsing.
I am also going to assume your format is very rigid. E.g. section Data1 will ALWAYS come before section Data2, which will come before section Data3, etc... and you might even make the assumption there can never be a Data4, 5, 6, etc... (this is why its nice to have some exact specification, like a grammar, so you know exactly what is and is not allowed.) I will also assume that the section names will always be the same, namely "DataX" where X is a decimal digit.
I tend to like to use StreamTokenizer for this sort of thing, but the additional power and flexibility it gives comes at the price of a steeper learning curve (and it's a little buggy too). So I will ignore this class and focus on StringTokenizer.
I would suggest something like this general framework:
//make a BufferedReader up here...
do
String line = myBufferedReader.readLine();
if (line!=null && line.trim().length()>0)
line = line.trim();
//do some processing on the line
while (line!=null);So what processing to do inside the if statement?
Well, you can recognize the DataX lines easily enough - just do something like a line.startsWith("Data") and check that the last char is a digit... you can even ignore the digit if you know the sections come in a certain order (simplifying assumptions can simplify the code).
Once you figure out which section you're in, you can parse the succeeding lines appropriately. You might instantiate a StringTokenizer, i.e. StringTokenizer strtok = new StringTokenizer(line, ";, "); and then read out the tokens into some Collection, based on the section #. E.g.
strtok = new StringTokenizer(line, ";, ");
if (sectionNo==0)
//read the tokens into the Labels1 collection
else if (sectionNo==1)
//read the tokens into the Labels2 collection
else //sectionNo must be 2
//create a new line in your table model and populate it with the token values...
}I don't think the delimiters are necessary if you are using end-of-line's as delimiters (which is implicit in the fact that you are reading the text out line-by-line). So the original file format you listed looks fine (except you might want to get rid of that rogue semicolon).
Good luck.

• Migrating to Sharepoint 2013 from 2010 - Can you use the same URL for the Web Application without affecting the 2010 environment?

Hi,
I am currently trying to migrate our SharePoint 2010 environment to SharePoint 2013. The first thing I'm doing is creating a 2013 development environment to verify that this migration goes smoothly. I'm also doing this so that we will have a testing environment
after the upgrade to 2013 is complete.
So here is my question: I have a 3 tier farm including; 1 app server, 1 wfe, and 1 sql server. I have made a copy of our SharePoint 2010 database and installed that on our sql server 2012 sever (This new environment is on 3 completely separate servers from
our 2010 environment). I have also installed the prereqs and configured SharePoint 2013 on the App server and wfe servers, as well as configuring the necessary service applications (I have created a completely new 2013 database where I will migrate my 2010
database content when I'm ready).
I am now at the point where I need to create a new web application on the 2013 app server, where I will be migrating the copied 2010 database. (Also note that we have a 2010 development site called https://[email protected])
When I go to create a new web application in our 2013 dev environment, can I use the same url (https://[email protected]) to create this web app, or will this screw up our current 2010 dev environment?
I'm new to SharePoint migrations, so I apologize if this is a stupid question.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can share on this!
Boe Barlage

So, what you are recommending is that before I create a web application in my new 2013 environment, I need go into my hosts file on my 2013 app server and alter it to point to my 2013 wfe.
Then after I do that, then I can create my new web application on my 2013 app server with the same url as my 2010 testing environment
(https://[email protected]).
Then after that I should be able to access my new sharepoint 2013 environment at the same URL (https://[email protected])?
I must be missing something.
In your first reply, you told me to alter the host file on my 2010 app server and point it to my 2010
wfe (I guess I thought it probably already is). You also told me to alter the host file on my 2013 app server and point it to my 2013 wfe.
so I am confused on after I do this, what url would I access my 2010 test environment, and what url would
I access my 2013 test environment?
I am fine with having my test environment as a different URL until I am totally ready to roll everything over and kill the 2010 site. But I want to make sure that when I migrate my database, none of the site links are broken.
I also want to make sure that if I proceed this way, I want to be sure that I will be able to modify the URL to what my 2010 environment is (without a lot of headaches) when I am ready to kill the 2010 site.
Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated!

• Using wildcards in URL variables (very simple question, i know)

Hi all!
Pulling my hair out over this... How do I use wildcards in URL variables? I have this code in compositionReady (which is working):
var myurl = "http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/pagename";
var currenturl = window.location
if(myurl == currenturl) {
sym.getSymbol("symbolname").play();
It simply makes the symbol "symbolname" play when the current URL matches the variable 'myurl'. However, I want the symbol to play on ALL subpages to http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/ and therefore it seems logical to put in a wildcard like:
http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/* or something similar, but I just can't seem to make it work??
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Best,
Thomas

What about this ?
var mysubdomain = "http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/";
var currenturl = window.location.toString();
if(currenturl.indexOf(mysubdomain) === 0) {
sym.getSymbol("symbolname").play();
