Use value of multi record in LOV in same multi record

Hello,
I have created a multi record tabular form (report actually). Some fields are select lists with of course an LOV. I would like to use a value of each current row to use in the LOV to make it dynamic.
This is the where clause of the LOV:
and rda.tsr_code = :P1103_TSR_CODE (TSR_CODE is a column in the multi record)
But that is not working, it works when I use:
and rda.tsr_code = 'M' (but that is not very dynamic and I have to make numerous different LOV's...)
After reading several pages, I could not find a solution...
Anyone?

Can I use multiple values for a rollup key on the same Endeca record?

We have a business need to to aggregate our records using different criteria, based on user navigation. We are thinking of using a rollup key with multiple values to help with the aggregation, but we are running into some issues.
Here is a made-up xample of what we want to do: assume we have a group of products and these products can be organized into groups using parent-child relationships. We would like to create an aggregate record for each parent, and we want the aggregate record for each parent to include all the children for the parent. To achieve this, we use a field called "parent_rec_spec" that holds the parent record spec and we set the same value on the field for the parent and its children. When we do rollup using the parent_rec_spec as the rollup key, we are able to see one aggregate record for each parent (with its children).
The previous setup worked perfectly for us so far. But now we are getting a business requirement that allows children nodes to be linked to multiple parents at the same time. We were hoping of using another dimension to limit the records based on user roles/characteristics , so that only applicable parents/children are displayed (for example, we can use "market" as an additional filtering property, and we decide to show all parents/children for "North America", while hiding the parents/children for other markets).
This caused an odd behavior when children are linked to multiple parents. For example, assume that SKUs A and B were linked to parents in "North America" and "Europe" at the same time, and assume that the user chose the "North America" market. The navigation state would eliminate the parents/children that are no in North America, and will also cause the parents/children that are labeled for North America to show up and be aggregated correctly. This however will lead to the creation of additional aggregate records for the A and B using the parent_rec_spec values that would have linked them to the Europe parents (even though the parents are hidden away).

In this setup, we have parent P1 marked for North America with children A, B and C, and parent P2 marked for Europe with B, C and D as children. When we use North America as a filter in the navigation state, and parent_rec_spec as the rollup key, then we will see an aggregate record for P1, A, B and C. But we will also see an aggregate record for B and C by itself (presumably because of the other parent_rec_spec value on these records).
The actual data that we are testing with is more complicated, but the end result is similar. We also noticed that the additional aggregate records would not be created always, depending on the ordering of the records.
The question that I need help with is this: is there a way to fine tune the rollup logic so that it can only include certain records (in the example above, we can change the rec_spec from PA and PB to PA_North_America and PB_Europe and then we would be interested in rolling up using values that end with NorthAmerica).
By the way, we considered using separate rollup keys for each context (like parent_rec_spec_north_america and parent_rec_spec_europe), but the number of contexts is dynamic, and might grow large. So it is not easy for us to create the additional properties on the fly, and we are concerned about the possible large number of dimensions.

Use value from tabular form column in the LOV where clause of another column

Using APEX 4.2 on 11g
In a tabular form I want to filter the values in a Popup Key LOV based on the value of another column (same row).
i.e. I want to get the value of one column and use it in the where clause for the Popup LOV on the same row.
e.g. where COL 2 is a popup LOV

LOV SQL: SELECT a FROM b WHERE c = <value from COL 1>
2
LOV SQL: SELECT a FROM b WHERE c = <value from COL 1>

LOV SQL: SELECT a FROM b WHERE c = <value from COL 1>
The value in COL 1 does not change once the row is created. It is a hidden ID field.

I'm trying to hold the value of a record set (or literally the content of a column in a query in a db) in a session variable so that I can call on this later and insert into another table.

No as mentioned I am (as you can see) declaring everything as a string when in actual fact the contents of the "custorderno" within the query is set to a autonumber within MS Access.
The while loop does work by returning the contents but the session object part is not working correctly with the following result returned:

Passing value to multi value parameter from SSIS using Report server webservice

I am triggering SSRS report from SSIS(Script task). I am passing parameter values from SSIS package.
So far working fine. Now, I have a report which has 2 parameters. One is single value parameter and the other is multi value parameter.
No issue assigning value to single value parameter. But how can I pass multi value to multi value parameter?

In order to pass a multi-value parameter through the Reporting Services Web services, you need to define the same numbers of ParameterValue objects as the number of the values of the multi-value parameter being past into the report. The Name property
of these ParameterValue objects must be specified same to the parameter name.

ORA-00904 when use column alias in Record Group Query

Is it possible to use column aliases in Record Group Queries?
I have a query that runs fine in SQL*Developer, but gives me runtime errors when I use it as a Record Group Query.
When I use it as a Record Group Query, the Form compiles, but at runtime I receive the following errors:
FRM-40502: ORACLE error: unable to read list of values
when I use Help - Display Error, I see:
ORA-00904:"CHILDNAME":invalid identifier
The query is something like this
select decode(complex stuff here) as "childname" ....
I've tried it with and without the double quotes surrounding the alias name, and have also tried it without using the "as" keyword.
I would appreciate any suggestions or insights. I'm using Forms 9.0.4.

It looks like this is caused by bug 725059:
"FILTER BEFORE DISPLAY" DOESN'T WORK IF LOV HAS COLUMN ALIASES (TRIAGE1098)
My LOV does have the Filter Before Display turned on. Here's the text of the bug:
IF an LOV is created with column aliases in the select statement, (eg: select ename emp_name from emp) and the LOV property "Filter Before Display" is "Yes", THEN when you attempt to filter the LOV at runtime, (eg: type '%' then press the 'Find' button) the internal WHERE clause that forms sends to the database is: WHERE column_alias LIKE '%%' This is incorrect syntax. A client-side sqlnet trace shows this. The correct syntax should be: WHERE column LIKE '%%' . The incorrect syntax results in no rows returned. However no error is displayed by forms to the user.

Amount Conversion File error using VALUE keyword in BPC 7.5M

Hi Experts,
We just migrate from BPC 7.0M to BPC 7.5M. We also change the server to multi-server arquitecture 64-bit (Application server and BD Server).
When we try to Import or Validate Transformation File with Amount conversion file using VALUE keyword, the system returns: "Error: Validate with data file failed". The content of conversion file columns:
EXTERNAL= *
INTERNAL= *
FORMULA = VALUE*0.001
At first, we thogut that was a problem with 0.001 but we tried diferent formulas with the same error:
FORMULA = VALUE*1
FORMULA = VALUE*2
FORMULA = 0.001*VALUE
We also tried to use VALUE keyword with case sensitive and the result was the same. And when we don't use VALUE keyword the validation is OK.

The conversion file AMOUNT_TEST.XLS has only one line. With this conversion we want to change value from u20AC to Ku20AC.
You should think that we used these transformation and conversion files in BPC 7.0M and it works fine.
I'd like to remember that if we don't use AMOUNT_TEST.XLS or delete VALUE keyword, these transformation file works fine too.
nilanjan, I tried to validate data file with one record and the system show me the same error.
Roberto, our first migration was from BPC 7.0M to BPC 7.5M SP3, but we didn't test it. Then we apply SP7 because to solve other issues, and when we try to validate data load we detect that issue.

How to show multiple values for Unique records in Report

Here's my question/problem:
I've joined two tables, one table (TBL1) contains an object id (OBJ_ID) that repeats and the other table (TBL2) contains a date (DT), object type id (OBJ_TYP_ID), and object type description (OBJ_TYP_DES). The tables are joined by an inventory id (INV_ID).
The OBJ_ID repeats and has a Date value for each record. I want to report an unique OBJ_ID and show each Date for a particular OBJ_ID in multiple Columns.
An example of the current resultset looks like this:

You seem to have an instictive feeling that creating a separate table just for a query is inefficient. You instinct is 100% correct. Maybe in Oracle 7 there was a reason to do that, but today you can query results of other queries as if they were tables, so temporary tables like you describe are very rarely necessary, let alone convenient.
What you want to do is pivot the date columns. Here's one way

This assumes you know an upper limit (5 in the example above) of dts that can appear in any line of output.

If you are doing the INSERT during runtime from a form first
create a sequence in SQL PLUS to handle the ORD_NO value:

and reference it as the ORD_NO parameter in your INSERT
statement:
ORDERNO_UNIQUEVAL_sqnc.NEXTVAL
note: to maintain data integrity you must use the sequence
everytime you insert a new order to table. To start a new
sequence drop the sequence and re-create it with whatever "START
WITH" value you want.

I created a VO and now i want to present the values in multi column format with radio button for each value fetched from query .
I tried using message component layout.But i was not successful in doing .
I want in the following format

This can be done by :
1)If the sql query where condition does not have to many rows, u can use two VO approach, one for display and another for rendering.
2)Use flowlayout in each column of table in ui to attach a radio button and the table VO column value.
But I still wonder whats' ur eaxct requirement? y u wanna this?

I have created a table with some of the columns as picklist and some of the columns as Lovs to insert some data into the tables as per the client requirement.
I want to make one value as default for the picklist and one value as default for the Lov.
Could you please let me know how can we show one value as default in the pick list or Lov.

Limitation for values in Multi Select in prompts?

Hi all...I have a dashboard with a report and a prompt .
I have multi select enabled in prompt. I defaulted that prompt to a single value.
I have 1700 values in multi select. The user wants to select all. When user selected all and hit GO on prompt,
it is not taking all values but still getting defaulted value output of report.
How do I fix this?

Try doing this. Instead of using a dashboard prompt, do this:
1) Add a pivot table to your Compound Layout view (if you already have one, then just modify it as follows.)
2) Duplicate the layer of the "prompt" column and put it in the Pages section.
3) Left click the "sigma sign" in the Pages section of the pivot table and select either "Before" or "After." This will add the "All Pages" option either "before" or "after" the individual values. I recommend "Before" since you have 1700 values.
4) Once more, left click the "sigma sign" in the Pages section of the pivot table, but this time, select "Format Labels." Now you can rename "All Pages" to "All Choices" or whatever you want to call it.

I am trying to delve a little deeper into Flex and have come across discussions about using value objects. My question is why would you use them?
I have an application that stores records in a database using ColdFusion as a backend. Currently I use an HTTPService to call a coldfusion page that returns XML that gets put in a XMLListCollection. This is then used to populate a datagrid and form details when the datagrid item is clicked on. This all works fine and is very easy (if not very elegant, it was one of my first applications)
I have another that uses a remote object to a coldfusion cfc. This cfc returns a query based on verious parameters. This result is then put in an ArrayCollection and used various ways.
What is wrong with doing things this way and why/how would value objects help?

Your example has nothing to do with value objects.
Value objects are useful in a number of situations such as:
1. They can efficiently represent a limited number of values. Say you have a size field with only four possible values: small, medium, large and extra large. You can use value objects and store the ordinal value (1 to 4) in a single byte instead of needing an 11 byte string. The set of value objects can be used as a white list for validating or constraining user input.
2. You can attach other information to a value object (within reason). Say your app allows users to select from a list of colors. You can store the RGB color information in the value object for each color.
There are probably other uses such as with strategy patterns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategy_pattern) as well.

Caching using - Value List Handler

Hi All,
Iam new to Value List Framework.I had a doubt regarding the caching in Value List Handler.Suppose there are 1000 records in DB.I querying the DB using Value List Handler.I want to display the paging functionality in JSP.That is i want to display 50 recodrs each in the jsp.Then if have to provide the Link for another set of records.I had donr this functinality.What is the problem is if i click the hyperlink which is provided for PAgination Functionality now it is hiting the DB and fetching the recodrs and iam showing in JSP.I don't know how to do the Caching functionality using Value List Handler.so that i can avoid each time DB hit.First time i will hit the DB fetch all the records and store it in the Cache.Can anyone help me regarding this issue.
