User Acceptance Test

Hi,
Can any one advise the total procedure of User Acceptance Test in SAP best practice. And is there any tools are used during that process?
Thanks in advance...
Srinu

Hi,
I am not aware of the best practices for User Acceptance testing, however I can give you the details of the general procedure followed.
1. Once a bug/ new development is completed in Development server, we do unit testing either in Development or Staging/ Quality server.
If you need to study behaiviour of certain transactions before and after change, you should take necessary screen shots and table downloads as required Prior to any transports.
2. Once the unit tests are sucessful, the object is transported to the staging server. You then run the reports etc and test the Post transport results. Capture the step by step instructions with SAP screen shots in a word document.
3. Compile all screen shots and table downloads in a word document, showing the Pre and Post Transport Test results.
4. Explian changes made and the tests conducted to the user. Send the Test results document to the user and ask him to validate the same. The users will take the document sent by you as a base and run tests in Staging himself. He may also do some additional tests.
If no errors are found the user will send an acceptance saying that changes are good and test results are good,
5. Usually we attach the test document prepared (with screen shots etc) and the user acceptance email to the Testing Task in the defect tracking tool.
6. Only after User acceptance is received, the transports can be moved to production
Defect tracking tools can be Mercury, Remedy, ITSM tools etc.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Uma

Where do I get all SAP WM transaction codes for user acceptance test during cutover activities?
I need the list of transactions.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can download through Solution Manager also. If ASAP is installed in your computer, you can download all the standard transactions, otherwise let me know your id, i will send it to you.

  • User acceptance testing in multi-tenant setup

How do most people do their User Acceptance Testing/QA on the Staging environment given that the availability is not guaranteed?

Yes, Even We tried logging a Service Request to refresh our CTE environment back to vanilla flavor.Which we used for lot of demo purposes. But they told that they don't refresh the CTE environment user has to take care of. And you don't get back the out of the box funcltionality.

  • User Acceptance Client role setting

What are the pros and cons of setting the User Acceptance Test client role parameter to P (Production) rather than T (Test).  I thought that it should be set to P to mirror the settings for the Production client.  Note: settings found in T000 Table

If you set the client role to Production, then it will be counted as a productive client for licensing purposes by SAP.  That could have a financial impact.  Also, I think you are only supposed to have one productive client per installation number, though I don't know if this is an actual technical limitation.
You are correct that as a Test client there are a few things which will behave differently than in a Production client, but these are mostly immaterial for user acceptance testing purposes.  For the vast majority of business functions, there will be no difference.
So, I would advise setting the client role to Test.  Do set it to 'not modifiable,' however, so that changes are forced to be made via the transport system, the same as production, and thus generally keeping the configuration in better sync with Production.

We are using the ASA like a VPN Concetrator. I have it set up were users login to it and establish a VPN and authenticate against an RSA token server.
The routing and the tunnels work fine and the users do get authenticated but they never receive a propmt banner or what ever you want to call it like they do when they logon via 3030 or similar.
I even tried as you suggested and used this config they should get a banner after a successful logon but they dont. Any ideals?

  • PAC Provisioning Fails Without End-User Accepting PAC Pop-up

We have lots of workstation on wheels. We use EAP-Fast with Cisco ACS for authentication. When a user isn't in front of the WOW and the PAC pop-up times out, it disables the WOW and causes problems.
Has anyone used some form of auto-accept method with the Intel PRO-Set so as to not require end-user acceptance of the PAC pop-up message?

The provisioning of the Machine PAC, which is needed for machine context connections, is accomplished using the server certificate or machine security identity (SID). Machine PACs are only supported in newer versions of authentication servers (ACS 4.0 or later) which have been upgraded to support EAP-FAST v1a.
To make a make a machine connection before the PAC has been provisioned, the CA certificate used to trust the server certificate must be placed in the proper Windows Certificate Store (Local Computer-Trusted Root Store).
The host must also provide these machine credentials:
•Active Directory provided machine certificate. The authentication method must support the use of a certificate to provide machine client credentials - the server must be appropriately configured to call for an inner tunnel method of TLS.
•Active Directory provided SID (password). The authentication method must support the use of a password to provide machine client credentials.
Finally, the FAST authentication server must be configured for auto creation of administrator's unique machine PAC information.

  • ISE 1.1.1 - User Accept Policy keeps returning

    Hello there
I have an ISE 1.1.1 setup, with a guest portal. The AD can be used to log onto this portal, and the Guest Portal Policy Configuration is on First Login.
However, every time a AD user logs in on the portal, he has to accept the User Accept Policy. Is this a bug? Or is there a configuration error?
    Greetings

    Steve,
It should be able to redirect users based on the username and device that they are authenticating from, if you look at the endpoint there is an attribute that is AUP specific once that is set to yes, the profiling database should have this flag set so it isnt redirected to the AUP after login.
In your authorization profile is the client being redirected to another authorization policy after CoA?
Please post screenshots of the authorization policy, the endpoint attribute, and the authentication events....
    Thanks,

  • Mac Pro user Reports/Tests on FB-Dimms

Mac Pro user Reports/Tests on FB-Dimms from a post on xlr8yourmac.com, helpful and interesting info:
    http://xlr8yourmac.com/systems/MacPro/mac_proram.html#storytop
    William

So I purchased 4 1GB Kingston FB Dimms and I have been running them for about 72 hours straight (not constantly testing or anything, just normal leave the computer on bit torrent etc, stuff). And for the first 2 days I was checking the system profiler religiously all running at 667, no EEC errors. But tonight I decided to check and slot 1 of riser card 2 is reporting like 4000 or more EEC errors.
I shut down, opened up, removed riser card, reseated module in question and booted back up. Checked and it reported all at 667 no EEC errors. Then I ran "Remember.app" and within 2 min it was erroring out all over the place and I checked system profiler to find 6000 EEC errors on slot 1 riser 2.
What is going on here? All the other modules seem to be running fine, no EEC errors reported ever. Do I have 1 bum stick of RAM? Are EEC errors grounds for a replacement? I bought this from newegg and I think I can only exchange if they are defective - are EEC errors considered a defect?
    Thanks guys!
PS my 2x512's are sitting on my desk - I have been running the machine for 72 hours with ONLY the kingston ram (same model and everything as controller2k - he gave me the idea to buy it

  • SLOW Xbench User Interface Test

    Hi all,
    MBP early 2008 2.5GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD (130GB free), 10.5.7 and all updates.
Since I got this machine, it has not seemed any faster than my 867MHz TiBook running Tiger. Today I ran Xbench twice and it showed an extremely low User Interface Test result (12.91 at 59.25 refresh/sec).
I know Xbench hasn't been updated for awhile, but looking at a few other Intel Mac scores, I didn't see any scores even close to this one.
So, has anyone else run Xbench? Anyone care to give it a try and report results on that part of the test?
    Thanks
(PS I've run all the maintenance I can think of, checked Activity Monitor, etc etc etc. Next step is to reinstall OS, but rather not if there's anything more to learn about this first.)
(PSS First run I had Time Machine turned on and external FW HD connected, so disconnected that. Also, just remembered I am running File Vault, and wondering if that's the culprit.)

    no idea...
    but try to disable filevault...
If you want to dream on the old days and to see what Apple don't want us to use now, make a ram disk (it will not be consistent after a reboot, as Apple prevent it... )
try to run a xbench on it...
    yes, 908 ...
try to run your hardisk benchmark.
yes, only 27 or a little more...
So, what all the buzz around with flash disk is just bullsh.t, as , since 1995 at least, Apple made RAM disk, and BOOTABLE until the G3...
I'm quite sure that we could have a 400 % more quick os X sytem if we could run it on Ram disk...
I used it for second life, as browsers can have another cache location (or, I didn't find how to do it)
it's about 20 % faster, and it is not shocking the hard disk, as the more you write and erase, the more your disk work.
Sorry to be a little of topic, but a Xbench thread could be good in that 'using your mac book pro , original" just to see how we can speed it a little bit, or not
(I use "Make RAM Disk 1.0", no bug , on 10.4.11)

  • Safari in ipad prompts the location every time even after User accepts it.

We developed an application which uses HTML5 geo location to track down the user's location. When the application is launched, safari prompts the user asking for the permission whether the current location can be used or not. This happens for two times continuously as per apple documentation.
However for the given application, it happens more frequently even after user accepting to share the location.
Safari prompts it whenever user moves to NEW location.
Is this a known issue? Is there any workaround for this??
Also please let us know if there is a documentation which describes the problem with the location prompt in more detail?
    Thanks

I’ve just started an almost identical thread: Recurring geolocation prompts on iOS.
    Did you figure this out?

  • Apple TV - Systems Acceptance Tests

These are questions direced to Apple:
    1) Do you use Systems Acceptance Tests for the AppleTV software?
    2) If yes, will you publish them?
    3) Do you agree that some of the issues reported on these forums should be added, if they're not already included, into SATs for the AppleTV software?
The AppleTV is my first real experience of Apple and I have owned in for several years. I am not yet inspired to buy a Mac, even though it is great looking hardware. If only Apple could get the software quality up to the level of the design quality.

I assume that your My Music -> Artists list works perfectly to allow you access to this music.
Let me give you two examples.
    1) I have a CD called Fame Academy 2002 where each track is by different artist(s) but collectively they are Fame Academy. So, each track is tagged with Artist being who sang the song, Album Artist as Fame Academy and the 'Part of a compilation' tag is ticked. This seems to match exactly the example you gave.
In My Music -> Artists list, I get an entry for Fame Academy with a picture of the album Fame Academy 2002, but when I select it, nothing happens. Effectively it is finding no songs. There are no entries in the list for any of the artists as in the Artist tag, so I cannot access any of the songs from that album.
    2) I have a Christmas compilation album where each song has its associated Artist tag set and the Album Artist tag is clear and the compilation tag is set. Note that in iTunes, it shows the album name under the album artwork and then shows the text 'Various Artists' under the album name. This is NOT taken from the Album Artist tag as this is not set. iTunes works this out by the fact that the Album Artist tag is clear and the Artist tags are different.
In My Music -> Artists, there is an entry for each Artist tag and I can access the songs.
However, if I set the Album Artist tag to 'Various Artists', it appears in iTunes the same, however, in My Music -> Artists, there are no entries for each Artist tag, but there is an entry called Various Artists. The correct album artwork is shown, however there are no songs underneath it.
So, I challenge you to check that you really have got the text 'Various Artists' in the Album Artist tag. Because if you do, then your AppleTV update 2.3 is handling your tags differently to mine. My guess is that the Album Artist tag is clear and you are seeing what iTunes automatically shows when this is case.
By the way, the old saying from where I come from is GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out), but perhaps that's a cultural difference. The saying is true of both software as well as the data. However, as Winston has already pointed out, in this case the AppleTV is handling the correct tag data incorrectly and needs fixing. The job of a professional software engineer is to make allowances for rubbish data, it's called data tolerance.

  • A Solution for Enabling Sandbox activation by non admin users for testing (OIM 11gr2 PS2)

I just wanted to post what i came up with as a solution the the problem of not being able to Test the effects of sandbox changes for non admin level users prior to their publication.  We are constantly making changes to the UI through sandboxes, the problem is rolling a sandbox back isn't easy, and we cannot be sure of the effects they will have on non administrative users until they are published, since the out of the box sandbox link isn't available to non Sysadmin level users.
To allow these non admin user accounts to test the effects of sandbox changes in our development environment, I did the following (as always, follow at your own risk):
Create and activate a new sandbox.
Close all open tabs (including the Home and Sandbox tabs) and click the "Customize" link.
Click the view -> source drop down in the upper left.
After the source is visible, click the Accessibility or Sandbox link to find the area that you will add the new "UserSandboxTest" (call it whatever you want) link.
Add a new commandImageLink directly in the panelGroupLayout: horizontal item before the "switcher" item (see the UserSandboxLink in my screen shot below):
Edit the Link you just inserted, Entering whatever you want the link to display as in your browser in the "Text" field.
    Export the sandbox.
Unzip the exported sandbox and navigate to the IdmShellV2.jspx.xml (path should be: \templates\mdssys\cust\site\site).
Edit the IdmShellV2.jspx.xml file and find the new item you added in step 5.
Add the following to the commandImageLink xml item: actionListener="#{pageFlowScope.uiShell.context.launchSandboxes}" rendered="#{oimcontext.currentUser.roles['SANDBOX_USER'] != null}".  Note: I used a new custom enterprise role, SANDBOX_USER, to control the display of the new link, You should substitute whatever EL conditions you need in the rendered property.
Save your IdmShellV2.jspx.xml file and zip the contents back up, just like you would for any other customization.
Import your newly edited sandbox back into the target environment.
    Publish the sandbox.
This seems to work great for allowing us to test other sandbox changes effects on different types of users.

On step 10, adding the check to determine if the user should have access to the role ended up breaking access to the unauthenticated pages like the self registration page and the forgot userid/user login pages.  Non-authenticated users cannot execute the method to return the role, so that fails which leaves the page not loading.  To correct this I changed the rendered property to rendered="#{securityContext.authenticated}".  This prevents the link from displaying on non authenticated pages, but displays for anyone else who's logged on.  We only plan on using this in our development environment where no one but developers and system admins have access anyway, so it's not an issue that everyone will see the link.  I wouldn't recommend putting this in an environment where end users will be logging in and testing without developing a method (or finding another way to limit the display) that can be called by unauthenticated users to prevent them from seeing the link.
