User get caught during Workspace logon
Hi all!
Even tough this issue is related to the Workspace topic I decided to place this request in the Workbench topic. Accurate topic would be: LCES Process Management.
Has anyone experienced the following strange problem?
Always when a user task has been escalated (e.g. re-assigning to a group) the according user will be "locked". Locked means: The user can't access the task queue anymore. He is getting caugth after logon (forever; only way out is to close the browser). The log file doesn't say anything.
All other users can normally logon and access their queues.
Stopping the escalated task (using LCES AdminUI) releases "the lock" on the user queue.
Anyone any idea?

Hi,
Please check if you set domain name is different with the domain name that host offering the server. For example: There is a DNS SRV record _sipinternaltls._tcp.fabrikam.com with target server.contoso.com on port 5061.
If this case, you can change the SRV record like this:
_sipinternaltls._tcp.fabrikam.com with target sip.fabrikam.com on port 5061
Then add a DNS A record for sip.fabrikam.com to IP of front end pool.

Users getting disabled during Synchronization
Hi All,
We are running Plumtree 5.0.2 in Windows Environment under Tomcat and also used Sample Application "Auth_HelloWorld-Java" as the base and modified it as per the current needs for Authentication and Synchronization. When I run the Synchronization under "Partial Users Synchronization" all the groups and users get imported correctly for the first time. When it is run again the users which were imported during the first run gets disabled automatically and they need to be enabled manually. This is putting us under lots of issues as the number of users are getting more.
Please do let me know how this can be solved.

I appologize for the delayed response, our notification seem to have been down over the weekend.
In so far as the problems you are having, the only reason that the users would get disabled is that they are not members of a group in the "Fully Synchronized Group List". This list is in the Authentication Source Editor, and should contain the groups from your remote Authentication Source that should be synchronized with the portal. Only users that are members of a group specified in that list will be imported.
Do you have any groups choosen?

SLD User gets locked; four unsuccessful logons every 15 minutes
I have a landscape with a PI with the SLD on it. I defined a user with the name SLDUSER and the appropriate authorizations. The PI is a Unicode system, like all systems in the landscape.
There were already some application servers (CRM, Banking Services, Composition Environment) connecting to this SLD and everything went fine.
Now I added another application server, an ERP, for FI-CAx (NW 7.02). As the business partners are distributed via XI through the PI system, the ERP needs to connect to the SLD, too.
I set it up as usual:
- sldapicust: host, port, SLDUSER, password. (What is weird is that there is no test button as in all the other systems ... maybe that depends on the installed EhPs.)
- This generated the destinations (type T = TCP/IP) SLD_UC and SLD_NUC automatically.
- I created destinations SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC manually in sm59, type T = TCP/IP, set them to Unicode, entered the same (two different) Registered Server Programs that are used in these destinations on all the other servers (CRM, PI, BaS).
- I ran rz70, entered the host and gateway, activated, executed the data collection.
SLDCHECK runs successfully on the ERP system!
The technical system for the BS1 showed up in the SLD as expected.
- I configured the clients / business systems on the SLD.
Now begins the problem. The SLDUSER is now getting locked all the time! It's definitely the ERP system causing it - when I prevent it from accessing the PI (by changing the hosts file on the operating system), the problem stops.
I activated everything critical related to logons and RFCs in sm19 and looked at the logs in sm20. This is what it looks like:

And it goes on like this. So what happens is this: Every 15 minutes, at :10, :25, :40, :55, there are four unsuccessful logons with SLDUSER. With the fifth logon it gets locked.
Again:
- This stops when I make the PI inaccessible to the ERP.
- SLDCHECK still works completely fine in ERP - until the SLDUSER is locked, of course; then it stops working in all connected systems. It does not result in unsuccessful logons on the PI.
- When I run rz70 on the ERP and run the data collection this also reports success and does not create unsuccessful logons on the PI.
- I have not used the SLDUSER in any other locations besides sldapicust.
So what the hell is wrong with this system?!I have created a separate user SLDUSER_ER1 just for use in the sldapicust in the new ERP system that causes the problem. Still SLDUSER is getting locked (not SLDUSER_ER1)!
I powered down this ERP system ER1, just to make absolutely sure it is causing the problem - indeed the unsuccessful logon attempts every 15 minutes stopped right away.
As a workaround and for narrowing down the problem I have created separate users SLDUSER_CR1 etc. for each of the other systems in the landscape (CRM and so on) - indeed those do not get any unsuccessful logon attempts.
I have deleted all four SLD-related destinations in ER1 and recreated them from scratch (SLD_NUC and SLD_UC being generated when running rz70). I also used the "delete all batch jobs" button in rz70.
Still, SLDUSER is getting locked.
I checked on the PI system in C:\usr\sap\PI1\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\system\httpaccess\responses_00.0.trc and see it is indeed the IP of the ERP system that gets the error 401 exactly at the times when the unsuccessful logon attempts occur:

As the ERP has no Java instance and the sldapicust does not contain the SLDUSER (but the new SLDUSER_ER1) it is a mystery to me what it is that is still running every 15 minutes in the ERP and tries to use SLDUSER.
I went through the entries in SECSTORE and could not find any use of SLDUSER (only of SLDUSER_ER1, as it should be).

NAC High Availability: Users getting disconnected during failover
Hi,
We have a pair of CAS in in-band virtual-gateway mode in high availability mode.
We are still running some tests but we have noticed that the clients are losing connectivity during the failover.
* The service ip is always active (never stops responding pings).
* The stand-by CAS becomes active immediatly after we shut down the primary, we see it on the CAM.
* The client however looses connectivity with the internal network for almost two minutes.
I'm guessing this isn't normal, but would like to know what is the expected behaviour on this.
Thanks and regards,We configured another pair today and we are noticing the same behaviour, however it seems random... sometimes the user barely looses connection, other times it will take from 2-5 minutes for it to come back.
We are only using eth2 for the failover link since we only have one serial port.
When we test we make sure both servers are up and then we reboot the primary. The secondary becomes active immediately. When both are up again we repeat the process.
any other ideas? something we should check?

Hi All,
I am currently completing a project for college which involves the creation of a domain, OU's, GPO's etc within a virtual environment.
I am using Windows Server 2008 Enterprise running this on VMware however after having completed and tested all my GPO's now none of my users are able to log on to the domain and keep getting the following error message "The user profile service failed
the logon" "User profile cannot be loaded".
I have tried to a lot of different options prior to posting which include:
Creating a new user account/s in case the previous user policies were corrupt the same error message is shown.
I also configured my DC to allow users to log onto the DC in case this was a network issue but the same error still exists.
My Administrator account always logs onto the DC without fail and applies all the GPO's as it should.
I have rebuilt my servers twice now at this stage and the same problems keep happening at first it was just confined to users within a single OU but now is Domain wide any suggestions on what I can do.

Since this is a project, you may have experimented with various settings in multiple Group Policies, so I would recommend you run the Group Policy Modelling Wizard, as it will show you all the GP settings down to a specific user on a specific computer, plus
tell you which Group Policy sets and which settings, and thereby perhaps find where the problem occurs.

Sender Mail Adapter Error: exception caught during processing mail message;
HI , I am configuring mail to file scenario. Need to read mail content (no need to capture From,TO or Subject details) and create a file with the content in the mail.
Need to read mails from microsoft outlook. Exchange server has been configured for POP3 protocol.
Following are the details provoding in sender mail adapter:
URL: provided url in the format: pop://<server name>
Authentication method: plain
provided user credinetions to access mails.
poll interval - 1min
content encoding none.
processing parameters : quality of service-exactly once
Since there is no need to capture From,TO or Subject details, didn't select the option - use mail package.
Verified for unread mails in the mail box and made sure that there are few unread mails.
Also, created data types and other components in IR and completed mapping.
But after starting sender mail communication channel, getting error "exception caught during processing mail message; java.lang.NullPointerException" in RWB-adapter-communication channel monitoring.
please let me know what needs to be done to resolve this error.

I recently purchased a refurbished laptop from MTC (windows 7) and have been trying to remote into the windows systems at my school but I keep receiving this error message. I'm aware there are dozens of threads on this topic but mine is slightly different.
Bear with me, I know next to nothing about computers...
I initially tried to follow the instructions given out by Microsoft (can't add a link here), but when it comes to looking at my S-1-5 directories, I do not have any that end in .bak, nor do I have two equally names ones. I have one that is a string
of numbers followed by -1000 and one with the same string of numbers but ending in -500.
The -1000 directory is missing the RunLogonScriptSync file, and has my account listed under value name for the ProfileImagePath information. The -500 directory has the RunLogonScriptSync file and has "Administrator" listed under
the value name for the ProfileImagePath.
In the instructions cited above I tried skipping to step 15 and accessing C:\Users\default\appdata\local\application data but I get an error message saying access is denied. So I'm thinking there are two administrative accounts on this laptop, but
when I access the accounts on the laptop I can only see mine.
Any help would be appreciated!

the "access denied" message, is making you think this?
if so, ignore that, since the "access denied" message is a classic MSFT misdirection.
It is *not* that you don't have access - the path you are trying to navigate to does not actually exist (it is a junction/reparse, not a folder), and, Windows Explorer doesn't follow that nicely, so it throws a misleading error message:

Instead, the "user profile service service failed the logon" can be commonly caused by an improperly secured file within any of the other folders (folders which form the Default User profile).
Here's one which caught me out, and MSFT helped me resolve via a support case, and they blogged it afterwards:

Oomph installer directory gets used as workspace folder
Hi there
my product (customized IDE) gets installed and
now also my own projects are setup (although I first had to learn that I need to double-click the setup in the wizard before I can really select my stream and that that was missing).
However, I now face the problem, that always the oomph installers directory gets used as workspace folder for my newly setup custom IDE...
I'm a little lost as how to predefine the workspace to the path where I need the workspace really to be located at.
I could perhaps use Resource Creation in my product setup to override the ini file and placing a
-data
../workspace
in there, but that's somewhat error prone, because other defaults placed by oomph into the default ini will have to be maintained by hand by me, if something changes during later updates.

Yes, always. This way a user can influence the results of the other setup models.

I am getting the following error in CC monitoring for my sender mail adpater:
exception caught during processing mail message; java.io.IOException: invalid IMAP status response; not finding * STATUS, but 001I NO The requested item could not be found.
Please tell me how to resolve ?NOw when i changed the protocol from IMap to POP3 the error is

when I try to log on to the computer using a domain account, I get "User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" it allows me to login using the local account. I have restored the computer as far
back as it can go, I have taken it off the domain and re-joined it, I installed a program called 'Glary utilities 5' and ran a registry repair and that did not work either. I am now out of ideas :(
Was hoping someone has any more ideas I could try before doing a fresh install.

Users getting disconnected when the sap cluster group failover happens.
Hello all,
We have done the HA installation on mysaperp2005(ecc6.0).
The failover groups are sapcluster group(ascs+scs instance) and the Database(DB group).The central and the dialog instances are installed locally and do not form the part of the cluster.
When ever the sapcluster group failover to the second node.The users gets disconnected and need to login again.
How can we configure the nodes so that the users do not get disconnected during the failover of the sap groups and the users are not disturbed.

This is exactly the reason why it is called High Availability and not Full Availability.
When the node where Database runs fails, the memory structure (Instance) associated with the Database is lost and needs to be restarted on the other node. This means that all the transactions which have not been commited to the database needs to be rolled back. Hence the users doing insert/updates into the database will be disconnected from the System.
While the database is unavailable the Work processes go into a restart mode wherein they wait for the DB to come up again and keep pining it.
Database becomes available again after the Instance is started on the other node with Instance recovery and the users can connect back. Work processes recognize that the database is available and everything is back to normal.
In case of Central Instance (enqueue) failover, the lock information is lost and hence again the transactions need to be rolled back hence the users will be disconnected if they are doing an Insert/Update into the System. System becomes available once the Enqueue service is made available again after the failover.
So in either case there will be user disconnects as HA doesnot cover the memory structure failovers.

The User Profile Service failed the logon

Over the last few weeks I have had literally 100's of my customers reporting this problem
The usual "The User Profile Service failed the logon" message comes up when they try to login
I have been fixing each time by changing the profilelist registry entries as per

But it keeps happening, some customers are then okay for a week or two and it then happens again
Has anyone else been seeing a lot of this issue? and if so any ideas what is causing it
All the computers have been checked for viruses and have valid security software loaded, so don't think virus related, but is getting annoying now and rightly so some of my customers are getting fed up having to pay to get it fixed each time
Any ideas?

W540 fingerprint reader wont start during windows logon
Greetings to all fellow thinkpad owners,
As the title indicates, i have an issue with my w540's fingerprint function.
My laptop is relatively new ~2 weeks old and as i am on vacation i boot it every 2-3 days just to mess with it.
few days ago i noticed that the fingerprint wont always start in the first boot and wont work in windows log on, however it will work if i lock/sleep the laptop.
some times it would work some other times it wouldnt. now i tried re-installing the driver and now FP doesnt appear at all in the logon.
i also noticed that the fingerprint software made the laptop a bit slower during the windows startup. now that i have removed it the password area appears almost immediately during the logon process.
things i have tried so far:
1) all drivers are up to date
2) removed all registered fingerprints, deleted the driver and the FP manager pro
3) installed the FPmanager pro from the lenovo update system and registered new fingerprints
4) i only have 1 admin account on windows and the all options are ticked in the FPmanager pro also in biometric settings its ticked to allow users to use FP to log on.
5) waited for 2-3 minutes in the password area, only the FP led open, but it wouldnt work
the issues persists. FP wont appear on logon but only after sleep/lock.
my software specifications:
win7 x64 pro
antivir
latests windows updates
lenovo software not installed: password manager, quick control
and nothing crazy installed apart from steam for games and windows office.
is this a hardware problem or something that windows 7 are causing?

kind regards,I attempted to reset the policy settings of CSS but then the pop up screen just got stuck:
- I did a reboot and reset the fingerprint data and password (after exporting the
settings),
- uninstalled the fingerprint reader and CSS
- uninstalled the CSS. I had encountered some issues while uninstalling it
Windows is reporting that the installation log file could not be found. I manually
downloaded the driver from the site and used the installer to remove it from my PC
- Reinstalled both CSS and Fingerprint driver
- Import all my security settings (password and fingerprint)
- Tested CSS and used fingerprint as default login method in battery mode
- Enabled Single SignIn method in CSS and BIOS
So far so good, the reinstallation fixed the issue. I did recall that there was a windows update before this mayhem on the fingerprint reader started. -
