User ID from Login Screen

Hi,
I am quit new to HTMLDB. I would like to retain the variable of the user_id after the user logs into HTMLDB and use that variable to query against the database.
Ex. Select a, b, c from table where owner = 'user_id'.
Does anyone know what that variable name would be and where I should put this query? In the preprocess section?
Thanks.

The variable is stored in an application_item named :APP_USER
I'm not sure what you mean about where you should put it in a query that all depends on what type of table your going up against.
You can post more details and we can go from there...

If you are using web deployed forms then you need to use a javabean to obtain the IP of the local machine - you can get one that does it here..

If you are running client server then there is a utility in d2kwutil.pll that allows you to read the registry and do things like get the IP address. d2kwutil is shipped with your copy of Forms - just have a look for it - the code is self documenting, but there is also a manual you can read too.

  • Guest User from Login Screen

    Hello,
Under Snow Leopard, I was able to have a guest account show on the login screen and anyone could log into this account which would delete all data upon logout.
In have enabled the guest user in Lion and it does show up at the login screen. When the guest user is selected at the login screen it gives a notice that the computer must be restarted into safari only mode rather than loging into the guest account as before. If a regular user is already logged into the system and the guest account is selected from the fast user switching menu it logs in to the account just as it did on snow leopard.
I would like to know if there is a way to revert the login screen functionality of the guest user so that users can actually login rather than having to restart into safaro-only mode.
    Thanks

I erased my HD and installed Lion again. First thing I did was run all software updates. Once I got around to enabling the guest account it now functions as it should and how it did under snow lerpard.
My previous install of Lion was also a clean install on a blank drive so I don't know why it was a problem but it's working now.

  • Keys broken, need to enter Password? How to open onscreen keyboard from login screen?

I have a macbook (just the original white one...I want to say it's a 2008). I haven't used it in a while because my keyboard is broken. I had to have some work done on it (other than replacing the ketboard which I will do later), and when I got it back and cut it on, it came to the login screen where I need to enter my password. My password contains some of the letters on my keyboard that are broken. How do you open the on screen keyboard (where I can use my mouse to type it in) from the login screen? There's no options or anything that I can click on other than where I enter my password. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I do not have an external keyboard...well I do, but I can't find it at the moment. So if there's any other way around it, that would be helpful

  • Windows 8 tablet touch keyboard DISAPPEARED from login screen!

I recently bough an Asus VivoTab Smart running windows 8 and everything was fine up until today when at some point the touch keyboard stopped disappearing whenever i needed to log in to the tablet! its annoying to have to find the on-screen keyboard and
i would like to have the touch keyboard back.
I have tried restarting many times and that does nothing, i have tried updating the driver but i cant as it says that it already has the driver up to date and that its running properly!
Any help is appreciated! thank you,

I don't know if this will help you but it solved a similar problem I had on my Windows 8 touch PC:
If you are able to reach the Start/app tile screen or desktop and from there "view local services" which you can find by typing "services" in the Start screen scroll down the list until you come to the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" which
should say "Automatic (triggered)" and "Running"
From there "right-click" that service (or otherwise get into its properties), click the "Log On" Tab, click the first option under "Log on as:" (circle button "Local System account") and make sure to Check box "Allow service to interact with desktop"
For me this box somehow became unchecked when I "Refreshed" my windows 8 to solve another issue. Once I checked the box, the keyboard started to reappear at the login screen.

  • Remove Admin from Login Screen

Any thoughts how to remove User: Admin, Password: admin from the logon screen so other users cannot view. Otherwise I just plan to change the password.

Go to Transaction SE61 and select the document 'General text' (selection via F4 help), and change the text with the name ZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFO in the language defined with profile parameter zcsa/system_language

  • Guest user Appears as "other User" at the login screen?

Hi every time i enable Guest user.
it displays as other user and asks for a user name and password
how can i make back in to default.. but with out making it a main user!
    thanks in advance!

Toggle it to 'Name & password' & flip it back
Are you also using any Network accounts from a server? These can also specify the preference that controls the login window. Network accounts are also shown in Users & Groups under the 'Network Account Server' item.
You could probably delete the preference file from /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist & reboot. That should cause the login window settings to go back to default values, double check the settings afterwards. NOTE: you will need admin privileges to delete this file.

  • Mouse cursor shows as normal. Everything behind (from login screen onwards is pixelated - 16 or so to the screen). Safe mode works normally

I appear to be able to log in - if I type my password and hit enter the background visibly changes though stays pixellated
I can log in to safe mode fine, works ok and screen is fine though I cannot do much (including using a USB drive to remove data to back up which is very annoying)
I can use Boot Camp fine and run Windows 7 if I want and that works perfectly
Tried booting in to AHD and it was pixelated also

You'll need to reinstall just OS X alone.
Backup data from both Windows and OS X off the machine to a regular external drive (not TM) and disconnect.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk and simply reinstall 10.6, then reboot holding the Shift key down and use Software update to get current to 10.6.8.
Then go around and reinstall/update all third party software, some won't work as their kext files got booted out of 10.6 (reinstall) and some require updates to work with 10.6.8.
Reboot normally and all should be fine. Your files and most programs remain untouched, (backup files regardless)
I suspect you have a software driver issue, I don't see any hardware issue.

  • Beginner User - Lost in Login Screen

Hello, I had tried to download and install Oracle Application Express a while ago and had stopped. I had however created a new account and by now forgotten all the details including workspace, name and password. I am stuck in the screen where it asks "Enter Application Express workspace and credentials." and asks for Workspace, Name, and Password. I tried to click on Find my Workspace to find it however it doesn't do anything when I enter my e-mail. I'm completely lost and need to install it ASAP for class. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Re: "doesn't do anything"?
Do you mean the screen just freezes?
    I always get a message:
    >
Success MessageClose Notification If <email> exists in our records, we will send the workspace names associated with this email address. If you are having problems receiving the workspace names, please contact your administrator.
    >
If the account went "too long" -- I'm not sure how long too long is -- without activity, notice messages would have been sent to the account's email saying that the account would be removed after a given time. Perhaps that has happened to this account.
Also, you might try the email on this page http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=35144:411:0
I'm sure the Admins have a lot on their plate. It might be some time before you get a response.

  • Start up and shut down from login screen

While my computer is idle the fan will kick into high gear and run for hours.  I cannot do anything such as log in, sleep, or shut down using the mouse or keyboard. I can turn off the computer with the power button only. This started with my upgrade to Mountain lion. (Along with a multitude of other problems).

It sounds like some application or process is broken or verklempt.
    Some things to try:
    * When this happens, launch Activity Monitor (Utilities folder). Select "All Processes".  Sort by CPU and see if any processes have gone wild.
    * Try starting up in Safe Mode to see if the behavior persists.

  • Network users not appearing on login screen

Hi all. I have just started setting up Lion Server for my household however have a slight issue with allowing network users to logon to devices. If I allow usernames and passwords to be typed in manually then network users can login, however if I want to have them show up as users on the login screen it doesn't work.
Is there a way for network users to be visible on the login screen at all times please? There are only two network users in my house.
    Thanks,
    Jordan

See my reply here https://discussions.apple.com/message/16280642 where I previously described how to do this. You will need Workgroup Manager installed for Lion if you have not already downloaded and installed this. You can get it here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1419
