Hi there,
We have a client asking about the named user licensing system of SAP Business One as to why we allow a single named user to login twice to the system. The question here is all about data integrity, what if the client allow the sharing of named user login to minimize the cost of the B1 license? If one of them commits error in one of the transaction, granting they have the same tasks or job responsibilities, then who's to pin point to? Who commits the error now? If we will allow this client, then is there a way for us to place maybe an indicator or flag to trace the individual logs of the two people sharing the same username?
I got some explanation about this, however I am not satisfied really as to why a single named user can login twice to SAP Business One.

This is a violation of the license agreement, and below is an explanation, quoted directly from the most recent Business One Price List. It seems clear to me why SAP does this, and why you can't encourage clients by helping them with issues related to logging in twice to avoid purchasing additional licenses.
"A.2.1. Named Users
A Named User is an employee of a customer, its subsidiaries or an employee of business third parties authorized to access, directly or indirectly, the licensed SAP Business One Software.
The SAP Business One User license grants the right for a specific individual to access SAP Business One up to two concurrent times per database. This can be done from two different machines. SAP permits this access so that an SAP Business One User can log in to an additional workstation if the User is away from his or her primary workspace and did not log out.
This does not mean that two different individuals are allowed to share one license concurrently doing so is a violation of SAPs licensing policy for SAP Business One. See the SAP Business One licensing guide provided with SAP Business One for more information."

Depending on which Adobe application you are using, the EUA will vary somewhat
and there are several applications that handle PDF products, Adobe Reader is one.
You could check into the results linked here that show several end-user-agreements
with Adobe over a few product lines; to see what may apply to whatever you're using.

In the open application, near where the name of the product appears, you should be
able to check into such places as "about Adobe..." when you click on the Name.
Since I only have Adobe Reader, not any of their retail application programs, what
little that tells me may not be anywhere near enough to answer your open question.
In Adobe Reader, if it were not to work on initial installation, I'd likely have to open the
application from its location in the Applications folder (in Adobe reader folder) and then
agree to the terms of the EUA in a small window that would appear at that point... and
after that any use of the Reader should simply be almost automatic if another application
sends a PFD request for the Reader to run and let me read content. Mine is set to not
do anything automatically, for security purposes, though. Hope the search links help.

Mac Re-install of Photoshop Elements 6

I recently did a re-install of OS Lion so I had to reinstall my aps as well. When I tried to recover the copy of PE6 from the time machine back-up, there is a message that says the license is no longer working and I should un-install and re-install the application. So I un-installed it again and then inserted the DVD to freshly reinstall the ap. Now the iMac rejects the DVD without reading anything on it, no appearance in Finder either. The DVD drive appears to be working as I have tried other software on DVDs as well as a film and they are read without a problem.
What can I do to re-install PE6? Is it possible to download it from the Adobe site and then install it? Or any other suggestions?

I did check the disc contents for a Mac version but there is only one setup.app on the disc and that is the one which gives me the result I first mentioned. It initializes, then installs. The install takes a very long time, and when it is done, it tells me that "shared contents are successfully installed", but that "Elements could not install properly". There is no additional information given to lead me to a solution.
The "Read Me First" and the "English Users Guide for Mac OSX": are on the disc, but they do not have any mention of MAC installation problems.
There is an Adobe Reader 8 folder which contains a Mactel folder which contains an Adobe Reader 8 installer.app . I opened it to install it, but the program closes unexpectedly once i accept the users liscense agreement.
There is also a bootstrapper.dmg file but there is not info on what I am supposed to do with it. I tried to work with it and i got an Ri.app, but that does not do anything.
Is any of this familiar to you?
I have no other Mac to try the disc with, so I am stumped.
What could I be missing?

Captivate would fit my needs as wel as what I found using the

Is the UI Developer friendly?
Does it have Multimedia (Audio/Video) integration?
(Appears the answer is YES, but waht is the ease of this?)
Are there any end-user liscenses needed for the trainees?
Can it be set up to be Interactive?
(Appears to be YES, but the level of interactivity I am not sure
about.)
Can the end users/Trainees have their own username/passwords
for tracking?
Is the training interuption-friendly to the end users? Can
they save their spot and resume at that spot?
How is the testing?
it appears that you can test, but I want to know if there are
limits, and make srue it is scoreable
are the test results kept in a database to chart/track/report
off of and to track each user's status by administrators?

Hi Pete, in answer to your queries and from my own limited
knowledge:
Q - Is the UI Developer friendly?
A - Yes, Captivate is very easy to learn and getting results
quickly for the basics, but as simple as the program appears at
first, there are a wealth of features and tricks that can only be
learnt over time or in the hands a good trainer. (E.g. setting up a
basic table in Excel is easy, but writing Macros to manipulate the
data is not).
Q - Does it have Multimedia (Audio/Video) integration?

A - The method of importing or attaching Audio/Video is very
user friendly and Captivate even includes a basic audio editor for
manipulation of individual sound bytes.
Q - Are there any end-user liscenses needed for the trainees?
A - No, only the developer needs a licence to use Captivate.
The outputs are controlled by the developer not Adobe. To use the
Excel scene again, I need a licence for Excel on my PC, but the
data tables etc that I create are mine to do with as I wish.
Q - Can it be set up to be Interactive? (Appears to be YES,
but the level of interactivity I am not sure about.)
A - Bearing in mind that Captivates biggest strength area
lies in the training of software solutions or applications,
Captivate can be used to firstly train in full flow how a user is
expected to interact on a solution, this can be followed by a
Training Simulation where the user will interact EXACTLY as they
would on the actual solution. Lastly, all this can be assessed in
another fully interactive module that measures the users skills. As
an example, I have built Captivate modules to the extent that users
could not distinguish between the live application and my work
regarding interactivity
Q - Can the end users/Trainees have their own
username/passwords for tracking?
A - This lies outside the scope of Captivate, but if you were
to publish the Captivate files to an LMS, then the LMS would be
configured to manage user take on and tracking. Note though that
Captivate files are fully SCORM compliant and are thus relatively
easy to integrate into an LMS.

A - All the above falls under the administration of a LMS as
described in the previous point. Captivate Assessments are fully
scoreable and customisable as to how points are awarded, but, as
with all e-learning programs, you need an LMS to manage and track
users and their results.

How to download attachments and other downloads from my email

I cannot download attachments or anything else from my email. I instaled l adobe reader, flash player etc, but it doesn'te seem like they are installing right, what to do. Also I cannot find where to accept the End User Liscense agreement what do I Do

Moving FCP Studio from G5 to Laptop - user's license?

I've been running FCP Studio Pro on my G5 Tower. I've just bought a MacBook Pro - to take a project on a location shoot.
Am I legally entitled to install my 'single owner' FCP Studio on my laptop? And thus have it installed on my studio G5 and my laptop simulatneously?
At what point do I have to buy a multiple user license?

It's stated somewhere in the user manual or liscense agreement when you install the software that as a single liscense owner, you are allowed to install your software suite on one desktop, and one portable machine (seeing as MBP's aren't "laptops"...) so you should be fine. However, if you haven't gone through the crossgrade procedure (ie. sending in your old software discs, and paying a very reasonable fee in return for Final Cut Studio 5.1) then you will have to before installing on your MBP as 5.1 is the Universal Binary version required by the intel macs. Users on my team account are getting a "having trouble verifying your membership...."

I have added some new people to my team and they were assigned to liscense I already had I took the old person off and added the new person. I also mistakenly deleted a user and so I reinstated him back to a liscense. They show normal in the team management window full paid etc. and yet when they log into their account they get a warning saying We are having trouble verifying your membership you have 33 days remaining.....What is causing this? Are they going to get the boot and not be able to access their programs? How do I resolve this problem or is it just a glitch in the system I just ignore?

User preferences spontaniously reset?

Do I have to reinstall OS X now?
Yesterday I was having trouble with FrontRow hanging on me so I had to turn off the power to get it to respond to me. When I restarted, and loaded ITunes, my preferences had reset, it was acting like a fresh install or upgrade, asking me to verify the liscense agreement, etc. Then I find my safari bookmarks are all gone, and I have to reset the cache in camino to get my websites to load corerctly. also all my keychain seems to be gone, none of my saved passwords are there.
This morning I check the computer, no power on or off inbetween, and my desktop background reset back to default, and my Dock has all the default install icons back in it. I try to load stickies and my 5 stickies I use all the time are nowhere to be found.
Time to backup my data and reinstall or what? Only been running the thing for about 3 months... I was a windows convert, id like to stay one...

I would first try creating a new user account. If you problems go away in the new account then you clearly have an account issue rather than a system-wide issue.

Recovering keychain and application liscense keys from a crashed disk

My OS X partition is too corrupted to boot from or repair with disk utility. I have a windows bootcamp partion that I can boot from and the files on the OS X partion can be read from windows and copied to an external hard disk (NTFS if it makes a difference) but it's very slow to copy large amounts of data (as in days for the application folder). I'd like to recover both my keychain and whatever liscense keys are used to tell applications that I own them.
My plan is to
copy everything important. Including what I put above
Reformat the OS X partition
Reinstall Snow Leopard
transfer Keychain information from back up disk
tranfer liscense information files if they exist
reinstall Applications
I'm not sure where the liscense information is stored or if the Keychains file and folder will actually work like this and if I'll have access.
I can try and copy important applications directly but windows doesn't recognize them as applications so I'm not sure if I'll be missing important information when I try and transfer them back.
Is this a very bad idea and should I just have a professional try and fix this?

No liscense for the device type?

So, my Digital Editions refuses to let me view my ebooks or download them. Everytime I try
something the "Document not liscensed for this device type" message pops up.
Anyone know what this is all about and how to fix it?

I had the same problem with my Nook, but it was because when I first installed ADE, I didn't have an Adobe user name. It installs ADE differently when you do that.
So I dug around on the hard drive and found Adobe stuff all over the place, including not only user areas, but the system areas also. Deleted every reference to ADE and the Adobe stuff I knew wouldn't affect my other Adobe products and restarted, re-installed ADE and then plugged in the Nook, and THEN started ADE. It found the Nook and it works fine now.
I don't know if this is the fix in your case.

Software liscense and update manager...

I bought solaris 10 last year for my home mail and web server, and I guess to learn also. And update manager worked fine all year. Now I am receiving the following error:
Error: Unable to download document: "collection/default" Response code was 403
I looked a little around the web and most threads seems to be saying that it is an expired liscense issue.
Do I really have to buy Solaris every year to get updates for the OS or is there a way to get a perpetual license so I only have to pay once?

Customer Liscense Expiry

Hi all,
I have to do a modification in the system.
Our user wants that he puts customer liscense expiry date somewhere in the system and if that date comes , and user creates order for that customer, order should be blocked.
How can I do that? Is there any field in customer master where they can maintain customer liscense expiry date? and how can i create a check for liscense expiry at sales order.

Should I do something in OVA8 ? I was searching in forum for this thing and one person had written :

Second thing is that why should i need to maintain 2 dates i.e. Reference Date and Next Review Date? Maintaining one date is not enough?
What I actually want is to block customer at a specific date i.e. some sort of customer expiry date. e.g. if I create a customer 123456 and set its expiry date to 31.12.2010, then it should automatically block all new orders of this customer after 31.12.2010. Please advise in this regard.

How can multiple users want to use airpaly to apple tv?

Our family wants to be able to share different media from our iphones/itouches through Apple TV 2. How can we do this? It seems that only one device and connect at a time. While we understand that all 4 of our devices cannot simultaneously connect and play, we would like to be able switch back and forth. We cannot. Also, when the last person to use Airplay is leaves the house or is gone (their itunes library is closed/off), others would like to access the Airplay through their device to the Apple TV 2 but more often than not we cannot seem to get the Apple TV 2 to recognize a new user. Any tips?

It's a fundamental oversight of Home Sharing - it assumes you're a single user with a single AppleID.
You can go to Setting>Computers and log out of one AppleID and change to another HomeSharing ID, but that seems a hassle.

Use one account or multiple for 10 domain users of Office 2013 Home & Business

I have 10 seats of the retail version of Office Home & Business 2013 for use in a domain environment. Windows 7 Pro 64, Server 2008R2 environment. No exchange. Blank slate.
Should I install all with the same account for ease of management, or setup a new MS Live account for each user? Can I do either, and what are the advantages to each?
