Users connected on portal

Hi guys,
I want to know the users that are connected on the portal. How can I do, within the portal ?
Is there any iview in any menu that can help me ?
Best Regards.
Allan.

Hi Allan,
No, there is no iview that can do that, as far as I know, but you can check who is currently signed on by doing the following:
Open a Dos Prompt on you pc, and type the following:
<b>telnet <servername> 50008</b>
then sign in with your portal admin user id and pw
then type in the following:
<b>jump 0</b>
this will put you onto node 0, you might need to repeat this whole process for each node, if you have more than one, I have never tried that.
then type:
<b>add servlet_jsp</b>
and then type:
<b>http_sessions full</b>
this will then tell you who is currently logged onto your portal.
Hope this helps, and please assign points if applicable.
Cheers
Ian Henderson

  • User creation in Portal Connected to LDAP

    Hi Gurus,
i want to know if we have LDAP connected to a Portal and someone creates a user on Portal UME , will the user get created in LDAP or portal UME.
The situation is where any registerd user  accessing the portal should be authenticated against LDAP and he can also do a self registration from portal. So if he self registers, does his user id/Password gets created in LDAP or it stays in Portal UME.If it gets stored all the way to LDAP then we are fine, if not , then is there a way to replicate this user id password to LDAP.
    Thanks in Advance!

User will be created in UME only not in LDAP.

No the user is created in UME database and not in LDAP. If you are setting up your user persistence in LDAP (authenticating users from LDAP) then you have to setup users in LDAP. UME has a read only access to things that it pulls from LDAP.

    Hi,
User SLD - doesn't matter on name belogns to system where SLD is configured and running. SO I guess you have SLD on Solman.
In case you didn't configured SLD on portal you have to set up on portal on visual admin choose Cluster > Server >Services > SLD Data Supplier > tab Runtime > HTTP Settings and add data of your Solman's SLD hostname port and user (SLDDUSER)
In case of you have SLD also on portal, go to SLD page e.g. http://<hostname>:5<system_number>00/sld
On the SLD initial page, choose Administration and in the section Server > Data Suppliers.
add data of your Solman SLD
    Check web  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ee/74b3407e73c57fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

  • Limiting the number of users/connections

We currently have a very large user community (120000)who will be accessing the portal for ESS/MSS functionality.
We would like to limit the number of users to around 20000. Any more connections should get a nice error message (rather than a standard IE no more connections or a time out message).
We can obviously throttle the number of connections via the load balancer or via max connections in unix. Is there any method in the Portal itself, that will automatically direct the users to a seperate web page in the event of pre determined number of users/connections being reached.
I have search high and low but can't find a solution.
    Thanks in advance
    Fenton

    Hi Tim,
No, there is nothing like this as a standard functionality within the portal. Similar requests are regulary asked on SDN (like: restrict the number of users logging in as you ask, restrict the number of parallel logins of one user, and things like this).
A possibility would be to implement your own login module which tries to check how many users are online. All techniques - independent if on portal or on WAS side - that try to count this have the problem that they cannot be sure who is "online" as you have no definite information if a user is online or not; one can only use more or less heuristic methods.
    Hope it helps

  • User Store for Portal

    Hello,
We are implementing a new portal, and having trouble deciding on the user store for the portal.
    Scenario:
u2022     The main functionality of the Portal is dependent on the SAP Systems (ESS\MSS), and BW System.
u2022     Currently there is no CUA or SAP Identity management Systems available.
u2022     The Usernames in our LDAP and SAP ECC systems are different, so we canu2019t use the LDAP.
From our preliminary brainstorming, we came up with following decision:
u2022     Use the ECC ABAP Store for user Base (So we leverage all the ECC users, and their current role assignments in the portal)
u2022     Later on, once weu2019re ready to install SAP IDM, and then Switch Portalu2019s User Store from ECC ABAP Store to IDM.
    QUESTIONS:
    1.     Is our approach here correct?
    2.     Would it possible to switch portalu2019s user store from ECC ABAP Store to IDM?
    3.     Should we consider installing CUA in the meantime until weu2019re ready to move to IDM?
Any Help or opinions would be much appreciatedu2026
    Thanks,
    Harman

    Hi,
Q1 You wrote: " The Usernames in our LDAP and SAP ECC systems are different, so we canu2019t use the LDAP."
This is not 100% true... take a look at this help document as it explains some possibilities for you:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/0b/d82c4142aef623e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Q2 Not really, see Q1 and in addition IDM is a Management and Provisioning System/Tool. It isn't a userstore on itself.
In other words IDM contains the single truth but it provisions it to systems (JAVA , ABAP, LDAP etc).
So it won't be possible to connect your Portal from an ABAP user store to an IDM user store as it doens't exist.
What theoretically could be possible is to now connect you Portal to an ABAP user store and later Back to its own UME and let this UME be under provisioning by the IDM system. But I can remember that it is not supported to go back from ABAP to UME. See also: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/f5/8fdc3fca21eb06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Q3 Personally I think it is a first good step as it helps you to centralize and uniform your users and roles. But If you already decided to go for IDM (lets say next year) then it maybe the Return On Investment for implementing CUA now is nihil.
Do not hesitate to ask if above answers are unclear.
    Good Luck,
    Benjamin

  • TLN missing for users in Federated Portal Network Setup

    Hello All,
We are facing a weird problem in our Federated portal Production setup; when the users login to portal they are not able to see the TLN. On further investigating we found that this issue is happening when the user id is locked in any of the producer portals within our FPN environment due to which the users are not able to view roles related to other systems as well in which there id is active.
This issue is reproducable but only occur once the ID are locked and password is expired in one of the assigned system.
Our FPN setup is as below:
    Consumer C connects to Producers
    1. A (RDL)
    2. B (RDL)  - BI Dual Stack
    3. D (RRA)  -  BI Dual Stack
    In turn A (producer) connects to 4 ECC systems (F3, M1, R1, R5)
We are using RRA and RDL both in our environment. We have connected all federated portal with P4 Port, so if required we
    can use RDL.
Please note our consumer C is EHP1 SP5 and both BI systems B and D are EP 7 sp13.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated as this is critical issue affecting users in our production environment badly.
    Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hello,
This was an SAP bug. We raised an OSS message and it is taken care now. User now gets TLN and then portal runtime error if the id is locked.

  • Cannot view history of direct access users connecting to Forefront UAG

Hi, I'm trying to get a list of the users that have been connecting through UAG Direct Access for the past month. I've tried using the methods shown in the technet articles about monitoring of UAG Direct Access either using Powershell or the TMG event loggin
    console, using this links:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg313776.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg313783.aspx
Using the TMG event logging I see a lot of data from a few days back, even if the filter is set to 30 days, and the log is supposed to be up to 8GB in size before overwriting. The info that it shows is only about sessions to the portal trunk and not direct
access. I know this because on the UAGModuleID column there is no there are no "connected" or "managed" sessions, all are SessionMgr, UserMgr, Filter and RDG mainly.
Through powershell I tried running the following commands after importing the module according to the article:
Get-Directaccessusers -showhistory $true and no results are shown.
Get-Directaccessusers -showhistory $true -starttime "1/6/2015 8:00AM" and no results shown
    Get-Directaccessusers -showhistory $true -starttime "1/6/2015" no results
    Get-Directaccessusers -showhistory $true -starttime "1/2/2015 8:00AM" -Endtime "1/11/2015 8:00PM" no results
Get-Directaccessusers -showhistory $true -username user = no results.
Get-Directaccessusers -username user = no results
the only command that shows any data is just Get-Directaccessusers but that shows the current Direct Access users, no history.
I checked the Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WhaleCom\e-Gap\von\MonitorMgr\sql-builtin-log registry key and it is on 1.
Any ideas on how can I get more history data on the direct access users connecting through UAG?
    Please let me know.
    Appreciated it.
    Thank you!

    Russel,
the problem has been solved now! The final thing missing was just a check in a  checkbox.
Below a comprehensive explanation that may help others.
We basically did what you proposed:
We sent a ping from one of the DA-Clients to the TS-Farm members. Since we got replies, we knew that IPv6 communication generally is okay. The answer received was an IPv6. In this scenario we had not yet given any IPv6 to the farm-members! Thus we knew it must
be comming from the DA DNS-Proxy. There are a number of DA-GPOs and one of them is dictating the net portion of the IPv6 to be used in DA-communication, appended by a hex-translation of the target computers IPv4. Therefore the DA DNS-Proxy is taking the GPO-set
IPv6-value, adds the IPv4 in hex and sends it  back as an ICMP echo.
With this in place and working correctly one can ping any domain host from any DA-Client. This is configured when initially setting up DA and is handled by the wizzard. Once DA is installed this should all be in place without extra user interaction.
We then took those IPv6 answeres and turned them into fixed IPv6es of the farm-members (each member its own IPv6). So far so good, but this is where it still did not work. Evaluation of the Connection Broker log showed that the redirect reply still included
only the IPv4 of the target farm-member. With that (after a short while) we realized that one has to set a
check in the Connection Brokers Settings, so that the IPv6 LAN-Connection will be used for redirects as well and not only the IPv4 LAN-connection..... How stupid is that? :-)
But as we all know - in dealing with server configuration - you should always "know before you go". But even though you may think you do, when finally arriving you know you didn't.... And that's what we call experinece.
Thanks to Russel for your interest and help.

  • Connection problems portal - BI

    Hello,
We are trying to connect the BI system with a BI portal (same system)..
However, when running the template installer on the portal, we get some errors such as:
"Element 'SAPConfigLib.ABT.Unclassified.maintainJcoDestination':Error during executing Java Reflection: Failed to delete JCO client connection 'WD_ALV_METADATA_DEST'"...
When checking in the BI report 'rspor_cust01' I get the following:

Status 13 - Importera SAP NetWeaver Plug-In till BI     Okay"
.. In other words, there seems to be problems with the certificates. Could anyone please provide me with input on how to resolve this issue. How do I handle the certificates when using only one system for both Java and ABAP?
    thanks and regards,
    F C

make sure you have done all the pre-requisites for running the template installer.
Note 917950 provides some attachments which will be really helpful.
Also try to update ABAP and JAVA to the latest SP levels.

  • Unable to replicate SRM users in SAP Portal

    Dear All,
We've followed the below link to auto replicate the SRM Users in SAP Portal:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/08/bae789ee8743d5b4cb2fbf93a9831b/content.htm?frameset=/en/08/bae789ee8743d5b4cb2fbf93a9831b/frameset.htm
But after doing all the configuration steps, we are yet not able to replicate the SRM users in Portal.
SPML Destination Connection test is successful and all other configurations are done and cross checked.
Is there any report program that we have to run / schedule for the user replication.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Anurag

    Dear Carl,
The above link that you've shared talks about replicating user accounts from UME to the SAP System.
However in our scenario, we want the replication from SAP system to UME. So, it's a reverse scenario.
The link that I've shared above in my thread talks about my scenario and in fact we've done all the configuration steps also.
But it is not working at the moment and I believe that there must be some additional setting / trigger point that would initiate the replication.
If somebody has already come across such scenario, please advice.
    Regards,

  • Connect Enterprise Portal to CUA?

Hello everyone - hope you can clear something up for me. I have searched online, in forums and my documentation but cannot find an answer.
Is it possible to connect EP 6.0 to CUA in the same manner one would connect child systems to the central system? I have seen conflicting info suggesting it is possible I believe for roles. I have also seen screenshots of a portal with a CUA tab under either System Adminnistration or User Administration.
I have a DEV and PRD CUA and each are connected to DEV and PRD LDAP servers. I would like to connect my DEV and PRD portals to each CUA. Is this possible? Is this functionality built-in to the portal?
When the  users are created in LDAP they are automatically created in the portal as well. We run the LDAP synch job to populate CUA with the new users. Between eCATTS and CRMD_UI_ROLE_ASSIGN there is little work to assign roles in the ABAP systems (CRM 2007). However, I have to then manually assign the newly created portal users their roles/groups.
    systems:
    CRM 2007
    EP 6.0
    IBM TIvoli LDAP
If you have any ideas or knowledge on this subject I would appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Todd

    >  Any idea of how to actually connect the portal to CUA? For the life of me I cannot figure it out!
Nope, sorry. I think the trick is to connect the portal to a backend system in such a way that assigning roles in the backend automatically assigns roles in the portal. You can imagine that back end system being part of a CUA. I've seen it working but I am not within reach of that system now.
Maybe someone else can chip in.
Otherwise, have a look in the forum.

  • Error connecting to portal database using alias

i am using Connector framework api to connect to portal database.
    in <b>visual administrator -> JDBC connector</b>. I click on <b>runtime</b> tab
    Under <b>Resources</b> i find <b>Data Sources</b> and <b>Drivers</b>.
Under Data sources I see SAPSR3DB. In Main tab on right hand pane I find many other aliases called SAP/BC_UME and SAP/BC_WDDR etc. Which one do I use in creating a connection.
    IConnectorGatewayService cgService = (IConnectorGatewayService) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService("com.sap.portal.ivs.connectorservice.connector");
    ConnectionProperties cp = new ConnectionProperties(request.getLocale(),request.getUser());
    IConnection connection = cgService.getConnection("SAPSR3DB",cp);
No system found for alias SAPSR3DB.

    Hi,
If you want to use the PortalService IConnectorGatewayService you will have to create a JDBC System in the System Landscape of the Portal and create a System Alias with usermapping.
You can then create a c connection to this JDBC System with the IConnectorGatewayServcie using the specified System alias.
But if you want to directly connect to the System Database you can also use OpenSQL in your Portalapplication and lookup the Connection using JNDI:
          InitialContext ctx= new InitialContext();
          ds= (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/SAPSR3DB");
          java.sql.Connection conn= ds.getConnection();
// user your connection here and close all jdbc objects finally!
