Using a complex type as my input parameter

I have defined a complex type that I want to use as my input parameter for one of my operations. I create the operation and add the complex type to my signature. When I go to the 'Query Map' dialog and try and map the complex type to one of my physical data sources the physical data source is deleted from the picutre.
Here is what my complex type looks like:
<xs:complexType name="FinancialContractRequestType">
<xs:complexContent>
<xs:extension base="srvcfwork:BaseRequestType">
     <xs:sequence>
     <xs:element name="ContractId" type="nylbt:TextType"/>
     <xs:element name="ContractIssueCd" type="nylbt:TextType" minOccurs="0"/>
     </xs:sequence>
</xs:extension>
</xs:complexContent>
</xs:complexType>

When I cut and pasted the xml I didn't put that part in but I do have it. Here is what my whole schema looks like:
<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:srvcfwork="http://newyorklife.com/schemas/framework" xmlns:nylbt="http://newyorklife.com/schemas/cim/common/nylcorebusinesstypes" xmlns:tns="http://newyorklife.com/services/data/financialcontract" targetNamespace="http://newyorklife.com/services/data/financialcontract" elementFormDefault="qualified" version="0.1">
<xs:import namespace="http://newyorklife.com/schemas/cim/common/nylcorebusinesstypes"
schemaLocation="../../../schemas/cim/common/NYLCoreBusinessTypes_0_1.xsd"/>
<xs:import namespace="http://newyorklife.com/schemas/framework"
schemaLocation="../../../schemas/framework/ServiceFramework_0_1.xsd"/>
<xs:element name="FinancialContractRequest" type="tns:FinancialContractRequestType"></xs:element>
<xs:complexType name="FinancialContractRequestType">
<xs:complexContent>
<xs:extension base="srvcfwork:BaseRequestType">
     <xs:sequence>
     <xs:element name="ContractId" type="nylbt:TextType"/>
     <xs:element name="ContractIssueCd" type="nylbt:TextType" minOccurs="0"/>
     </xs:sequence>
</xs:extension>
</xs:complexContent>
</xs:complexType>

  • Recommended steps to generate a web service using nested complex types

    Hello,
    I need to generate a web service that uses nested complex types with built in types on the bottom layer. I hve posted an attempt at a WSDL. Please give advice on if I am doing it correctly.
    I have the suspicion that I should nest the complex types into the final complex type VendorStockingInterface. Please confirm.

    I'd like the the consumer of the web service to send it a document with the fields formatted to the VendorInterface complextype which contains the other complextypes. In return the consumer will get another document with some acknowledgement messages.
    To make this happen I'd like to generate the web service, creating the complex type classes and XMLBeans. I'd like advice on the steps to take once I get a good WSDL.
    There is also the option to go from the other direction. Is it better to attempt to create a schema XSD document instead and use that to work towards the web service and WSDL? If so, could someone give an example of how to format an XSD using my example needs.

    I think I have got it all in place, though I have not tested it as of yet. For others who are looking at this, here is my XSD file from which all my complextypes were generated and lastly here is the actual web service file.

  • How do I use a FF column as the input parameter to an Oracle Function?

    ... and have the value  returned by the function be written to the target DS.
    I am opening a FF and grabbing an integer from a column.
    I want to map an output column in a temp table to be the returned value of a function call that uses the input column integer as the in parameter.
    Any Ideas? Seems like it should be easy, but everything I try, bombs.
    Thanks

  • Is there an easy way to find out the type of an input parameter

    Hi guys, I'm writing a function that receives a large string and I have to split it in several smaller fields, some string, some date and some numeric. Is there a function similar to "isnumeric" or "isdate" that will help me check on the type of data being entered? Tks in advance.

    Hi,
    >>Is there a function similar to "isnumeric" or "isdate" that will help me check on the type of data being entered?
    Humm, like Delphi's functions? ;-) I think that 3360's solution is very interesting. By the way, check this below:
    LEGATTI@ORACLE10> create or replace function is_numeric (param_in varchar2) return boolean is
      2  n  number;
      3  begin
      4    n := to_number(param_in);
      5    return true;
      6  exception
      7    when others then return false;
      8  end is_numeric;
      9  /
    Function created.
    LEGATTI@ORACLE10> create or replace function is_date (param_in varchar2) return boolean is
      2  d  date;
      3  begin
      4    d := to_date(param_in);
      5    return true;
      6  exception
      7    when others then return false;
      8  end is_date;
      9  /
    Function created.

  • Cast a  Input Parameter of Table Type?

    Hi,
    Can a stored procedure input parameter of type
    TYPE T_INV_ID IS TABLE OF INV.INV_ID%TYPE INDEX BY PLS_INTEGER;
    PROCEDURE P_LIST_INV(CP_INV_ID IN T_INV_ID , C_REF OUT T_CURSOR)
    be used as with the Table Function?
    i.e. Select * from TABLE(CP_INV_ID)
    Thanks,
    Victor

    Yes you can. You will have to use execute immediate (or dbms_sql, depending on your database version).
    You will have to attach the table name into the rest of the sql string (you can't use bind variables for the table name). The owner of the procedure must have the appropriate rights on the given table, or the procedure must use invoker rights (authid current_user)
    execute immediate: http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/A87860_01/doc/appdev.817/a77069/10_dynam.htm

    HI all,
    I want write a common stored procedure which will perform some specified tasks on specified table. The table name is passing as a input parameter of a stored procedure. Can we use the table name as a input parameter of a stored procedure?

  • Input parameter types

    Hey Everyone,
    I'm curious if there is a way to get around having to specify the full package for the input type such as <input-parameter name="departmentCd" required="true" type="String"> instead of <input-parameter name="departmentCd" required="true" type="java.lang.String">.  It's convenient to use the gui to add a service, but I find myself manually updating each of these types.  I also found that if I specify public void someMethod(java.lang.String foo) it automatically pulls it in, but that's obviously not ideal.
    Appreciate your feedback,
    Michael

    Hey Michel,
    I reproduced your senario on my side and found it is rational to make an improvement on the Component Development Tool to resolve the trouble you encounter.
    The change taken on the tool is that when selecting java.lang.string as an input/output parameter of an operation, the generated function Java class would be String someMethod(String foo) instead of java.lang.String someMethod(java.lang.String foo).
    The update will come up in next release.
    Thank you again for using our product and sharing your experience with us. The product would be better by your valuable advice.

  • Web Service + Complex Type + Java Studio Creator

    Hy all!!
    I am using Ubuntu 7.04 + Java Studio Creator 2 and i'm trying to use a webservice.
    This webservice uses a Complex Type and was made in PHP.
    I guarantee that this webservice is working with complex type because i've tested using a PHP client.
    I have already worked with others webservices in Java Studio Creator using simple types!
    So I went to Add Web Service, put the wsdl link, Get Web Service Information and then Test Method that uses Complex Type.
    Then I gave a input value and when I submit i got this error:

  • PL/SQL Input parameter

    Beginning my quest to learn PL/SQL....
    If you have a procedure which has an input statement which is define like the following...
    i_MyField IN OPS_User.MyField%Type
    I want this field to accept either NULL or a numeric value. If it is defined on OPS_User.MyField as being numeric and not null, can I still pass nulls to the input parameter?
    Thanks for your assistance!!

    Hello,
    The %TYPE is used to define the type of the input parameter, it does not imply that Oracle will perform runtime check of your arguments.
    Example
    MANAG>SELECT version from v$instance;
    VERSION
    9.2.0.4.0
    MANAG>
    MANAG>CREATE TABLE TEST_IT_1ST
    2 (
    3 MY_FIELD VARCHAR2(12) NOT NULL
    4 )

    Table created.
    MANAG>
    MANAG>
    MANAG>INSERT INTO TEST_IT_1ST(MY_FIELD) VaLUES(NULL);
    INSERT INTO TEST_IT_1ST(MY_FIELD) VaLUES(NULL)

    MANAG>
    MANAG>
    MANAG>CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE MY_TEST(MY_PARAM IN TEST_IT_1ST.MY_FIELD%TYPE) IS
    2 BEGIN
    3 DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(MY_PARAM);
    4 END;
    5 /
    Procedure created.
    MANAG>
    MANAG>EXECUTE MY_TEST(NULL);
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    MANAG>EXECUTE MY_TEST('More than twelve characters !');
    More than twelve characters !
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    MANAG>
    MANAG>DROP PROCEDURE MY_TEST;
    Procedure dropped.
    MANAG>DROP TABLE TEST_IT_1ST;

  • How to pass input parameter (parameterized mapping) to java mapping program

    Hello
    I have a question about the parameterized mapping with Java (PI 7.1).
    In the operation mapping (using Java-class) I defined a inputer parameter (string). I think I am supposed to retrieved the value using:
                    arg0.getInputParameters().getString("myInputParameterName");
    where arg0 is the TransformationInput object.
    However I am not able to get the value, I got runtime exception saying the inputer parameter doesn't exit.
    Then I figured out maybe I need to bind the OM input parameter to Java mapping parameter, just like in case of message mapping, you need to bind OM parameter to MM parameter. However there is no way to define input parameter for the java mapping program.
    Anybody has done java mapping with parameterized mapping?
    Anybody can give any hint for this?
    Thanks
    Jayson

  • Pass Input Parameter With Blank To SSIS Get Strange Result

    Hi! I stuck for a while when executing SSIS from stored procedure with input parameter. My input value is not consistent with output one. If I pass value with blank , SSIS seems gets second part. For example , if I pass "CALL FROM SP", SSIS get
    "FROM" only.
    I use Execute SQL Task to store input parameter. Here is the SSIS snapshot.
    And here is the sp snippet
    DECLARE @Path VARCHAR(200),
    @Cmd VARCHAR(4000),
    @ReturnCode INT,
    @QUERY_STRING VARCHAR(70),
    @BATCH_NO VARCHAR(14)
    SELECT @Path = 'xxxxxx'
    SELECT @QUERY_STRING = 'CALL FROM SP'
    --BatchNo = YYYYMMDDHHMMSS
    SELECT @BATCH_NO = CONVERT(VARCHAR(10),GETDATE(),112) + REPLACE(CONVERT(VARCHAR(8),GETDATE(),108),':','')
    SELECT @Cmd = 'DTexec /FILE "' + @Path + 'Package1.dtsx" /MAXCONCURRENT 1 /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING EW ' + '/Decrypt ALCM '
    + ' /SET \Package.Variables[User::BATCH_NO].Properties[Value];' + @BATCH_NO
    + ' /SET \Package.Variables[User::QUERY_STRING].Properties[Value];' + @QUERY_STRING
    My test are
      input parameter
     write to TESTTB correctly ?
    any error?
     execute SSIS in design mode
     CALL FROM SSIS
     YES
     execute SSIS by sp
     CALL FROM SP
     NO
     Option "FROM" is not valid.
     execute SSIS by sp
     CALL_FROM_SP
     YES
    Anyone could give me some hint ?
    Thank you so much!!

    Hi Nick,
    It occurs because an argument of the DTExec commands must be enclosed in quotation marks if it contains a space. From the dtexe (SSIS Tool): Syntax Rules section of the
    dtexec Utility (SSIS Tool) document, we can see:
    All options must start with a slash (/) or a minus sign (-). The options that are shown here start with a slash (/), but the minus sign (-) can be substituted.
    An argument must be enclosed in quotation marks if it contains a space. If the argument is not enclosed in quotation marks, the argument cannot contain white space.
    Doubled quotation marks within quoted strings represent escaped single quotation marks.
    Options and arguments are not case-sensitive, except for passwords.
    So, you need to make the value of the variable @QUERY_STRING within double quotes in the value of the variable @Cmd or remove the space within the @QUERY_STRING value.

  • Complex Types & Web Services

    Portal 7 allows you to create portlets from WSDL files. I have a web
    service that has an interface which returns a org.w3c.dom.Document. The
    portlet wizard won't generate code from this interface since it uses a
    "complex type". Is there any way to allow this type of generation other
    than hand coding all the wsdl_*.java files in the jar file?
    kwc

    JAXB can be used to solve your problem. Rather than trying return your own types directly use JAXB to explain your return types in a schema;
    Example:
    public class MyType {
    int id=-1;
    int noOfObjects=0;
    String something;
    @XmlElement(nillable = true) //Java annotation to return list
    List<String> participant;
    public Interaction() {
    participant= new ArrayList<String>();
    something=hi;
    public List<String> get() { return participant; }
    public void set(String newpart) {participant.add(newpart);}
    public String getCrux() { return OK; }
    public void setCrux(String something) { this. something = something; }
    @XmlAttribute
    public int getId() { return 0; }
    public void setId(int id) {  }
    @XmlAttribute
    public int getNoOfObjects() { return noOfObjects; }
    public void setNoOfObjects(int id) { this.noOfObjects =noOfObjects; }
    @WebService()
    public class MyService {
    @WebMethod
    public Results MyType (@WebParam(name = "id") String id) {
    return new MyType();
    When defining your own class make sure you have "get" and "set" methods for all types.(JAXB needs this)

  • SSIS Web Service Complex Type Inputs

    Hi,
    I am trying to make a call to a third-party web service in my SSIS package.  The request has custom complex data type as the parameter.  As has been pointed out in this forum before, the Web Service Task only lets you assign the outside parameter from a variable, not the internal parameters needed to create the complex data type.
    To be more specific, the web service input wants a 'ContactSearchRequest' parameter.  I can assign this from a variable.  If I click on the 'value' field under the 'Input' section for the web service task, it shows me that the 'ContactSearchRequest' data type is made up of the following:
    contactId - long
    numResults - int
    offset - int
    passKey - string
    searchParam - string
    sortType - int
    Unfortunately, I can't assign these internal parameters from a variable, at least not through the web service task interface.
    My next thought was to create a variable of type 'object' and then set it in a script task prior to calling the web service task.  However, I'm not sure exactly how to do this.  How will my script know about the class definition of 'ContactSearchRequest'?  Do I just create a class called 'ContactSearchRequest'?
    I've used this same web service in a .NET C# project and after I imported the web service, visual studio knew all about the custom data types.  How do I do something similar in SSIS?
    Of course, the easiest solution would for Integration Service to allow me to set those internal parameters via variables, but we're apparently not there yet.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Trey

    Hi All,
    I am trying to pull the data from a webservice. The method expects 5 parameters out of which one is a complex type. And it is fine to pass Null value for this parameter.
    The method expects a complex data type UrlReportFilter
    as follows:
    <simpleType name="UrlReportFilterOperatorEnum">
     <restriction base="xsd:string">
    <enumeration value="contains"/>
    <enumeration value="starts_with"/>
    <enumeration value="ends_with"/>
    <enumeration value="not_contains"/>
    <enumeration value="not_starts_with"/>
    <enumeration value="not_ends_with"/>
    <enumeration value="match_regular_expression"/>
    <enumeration value="not_match_regular_expression"/>
    <enumeration value="exact_match"/>
    </restriction>
    </simpleType>
    <complexType name="UrlReportFilter">
    <sequence>
    <element name="caseSensitive" type="xsd:boolean"/>
    <element name="operand" nillable="true" type="xsd:string"/>
    <element name="operator" nillable="true" type="akaaimsdt:UrlReportFilterOperatorEnum"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    How to assign values and use this in VB.NET code?
    I am using following code to assign the values to the properties in VB.NET code in Script task but it is throwing the error below:
     Dim vUrlFilter As New Akamine.UrlReportFilter With {.caseSensitive = False, .operand = ""}
    Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: AWSFault:Error in processing:(com..aws.services.exceptions.InvalidColumnException: Invalid column:

    Any help on this would be appreciated!!

  • How to use complex types in a odata url filter

    Hello,
       I am in the process of building a service that uses a complex data type as input in a query filter. I am not sure how the url will need to be generated and also how to retireve this complex type in the get_entity_set method.
    Example:
       I have a complex type as below:
    Name:
    with properties
      Firstname
      Lastname.
    I would like to pass the name as a query filter. an I am not sure how to do this.
    Should it be like this:
    https://.../service/getdetails?$filter=Name.firstname eq 'John' and Name.Lastname eq 'Smith'
    My second question is how do I retireve this filter in the get_entity_set method.

    Hi Rajesh,
    I have done the Scenario using Function import and done the code and working fine.
