Using a ~DateTime field in a Transaction list - to work out an elapsed even

Hi all.  I do hope you Gurus can help me.
the situation is that we have an event table, with event codes...and event times.
say code 100, occurs for a record on Tuesday at 14:00:00...then the next event we are looking to measure the time between event 100...lets call this code 200...occurs on Tuesday at 16:00:00....i need to extract the elapsed time between the time of event 100 and event 200.
In other words the elapsed time of 2:00:00 hours.........
I have created a time event based on code 100 happening...then a time event based on 200 happening...But they cannot subtract 200 from 100 time, to give me the 2:00:00 elapsed hours........
Can any one give me, guide me on the route to solve this one.

Hi, These are getting very helpful, but I am missing a bit of knowledge, and I am not a Basic syntax user....
So this, from my thoughts/testing might help you to help me!!
Formulae for  {@R_BothTimes}
whilereadingrecords;
if {ticket_events.te_event_code} = 100 then {ticket_events.te_date}
else
if{ticket_events.te_event_code} = 147 then {ticket_events.te_date}
This looks at the two event codes, 100 and 147...then reads in the singel te_event_code time...and places this onto the transaction line...
I then am looking at.....this sort of code...
if previous ({ticket_events.te_event_code}) = 100  then {@R_BothTimes}
//this coudl look back and get the time 100 started, so i can then look at the eleapsed time between 100 and 147.....
but it is not working!!!!!  Your help is trully apprecaiated.

I want to know the purpose and utility of the following fields in the CO11N transaction.
    Break time
    Split
    Start date and Finish date
    Start time and Finish time
Does the entry made in these fields have any impact on scheduling, capacity planning etc.
    Regards,

  • Use of alternative field label in TMW

    Hi,
    I'm using a customer-specific field under
    IMG>Time Management>Time Manager's Workplace
    >Screen Areas>Time Data>Define Table for Time Events
and I want to change the field description displayed in TMW under the Time Events tab.
I've tried to use the alternative field label, but it doesn't work. Am I missing a step? Does anyone have any idea how to configure this?
    Thanks
    Al

That doesn't really help me though...I understand that it's sap standard, but why then give an option for an alternative field label if it doesn't work. Or am I not understanding that functionality?

  • MDM Tuple Update using Auto ID field of Main table

    Hi Experts,
I am getting an issue while updating the tuple in MDM.
    The scenario is as follow:
We are using DEBMDM06, where one of the field of the XSD is populated with the Auto ID field of MDM.
This scenario is used for re-importing of data for updating the tuple.
Now, I have mapped all the tuple related fields and have mapped the Auto ID field that exist in XSD with the Auto ID field that exists in MDM and using the same field for Matching.
This matching works, but after executing import does not update the tuple, whereas it updates the rest of the fields of the Main table.
I am aware that Tuple does not support the Auto ID field, but I believe we can use this field ( belonging to main table) and execute import action for updating tuple.
Has anyone come across this issue? Can we use Auto ID as a matching field to update the tuple?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Parul Malhotra

    Hi
Have you tried with "Updated Null Fields",  as Auto id is a calculated field we can not import any data in it.  Try importing with "update Null fields " and let us know the result.
Check the Tuple update options in configuration options of you import map and import manager.
I do not have a MDM 7.1 system to check, update null fields should solve your problem
    Let us know the results
    Thanks

  • What are all the ways that can add fields in the output list of FBL3N transaction?

    Hello dear experts,
There is this transaction FBL3N, which you might be aware of. Now, the requirement is to add 4 new fields in the output list of the standard program.
    The fields are:
    NAME1   KNA1
    LOKKT    BSEG
    USNAM   BKPF
    TXT50      SKA1 -> SKAT
Please tell me how to do this apart from implementing the note 310886. What are the other ways?

I agree, start reading 984305 - Line item: Definition of special fields (T021S)
Then for non BSEG/BKPF fields, better use BAdI FI_ITEMS_CH_DATA (1323512) and not the good old BTE 1650, the BAdI will be called once with the full internal table with special fields already filled, when the BTE will be executed for each and every record without special fields, so harder to optimize, and may require access to BKPF/BSEG for missing fields.
    Regards,
    Raymond
PS: Did you use search tool, there are already many discussions/threads on this subject.

  • Datetime field overflow ODBC error using EIS 11.1.2.2

    Hi
I have EPM 11.1.2.2 installed on Windows 7 64bit. I am using EIS to create a Essbase cube. The installation comes with DataDirect 6.1 Oracle Wire Protocol ODBC driver which I have used to create a DSN for the metadata catalog (driver - C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\Common\ODBC-64\Merant\6.1\Drivers\ARORA25.dll). I created the OLAP model successfully but while saving the OLAP meta outline I get an error:
+Error -28616: ODBC Error [DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver] Datetime field overflow. Error in parameter 5.+
Any idea how to get rid of this error? Any workarounds?
    Regards,

    Vinay,
Set the connection option "TimestampTruncationBehavior" to 1. This should be placed either in the connection string, the data source listed in the odbc.ini file (for UNIX), or in the data source listed in the registry (Windows)".
    Hope it helps....

  • How to use a parameter field value as a substring in a "like" statement?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to use a parameter field in a Record selection formula where the parameter field value would be a substring of the data stored in the field.
My parameter field (SlctResearcher) is constructed as follows:
    Type: string
    List of Values: static
    Value Field: (Reports) RptAuthors
(in Value Options) Allow custom values?: True
    {Reports.PubDate} in DateTime (2009, 04, 01, 00, 00, 00) to DateTime (2010, 03, 31, 23, 59, 59) and
    {Reports.RptAuthors} like "*{?SlctResearcher}*"
When I hit F5 to generate the data, I get no results (and the parameter prompt field does not even come up...)
If I modify the formula to put a hard-coded string, like
    "*Jones*"
after the 'like', I get results (all the reports where "Jones" is a substring in the RptAuthors string.) If I modify the formula to just use the parameter field without the quotes/stars like:
    {Reports.PubDate} in DateTime (2009, 04, 01, 00, 00, 00) to DateTime (2010, 03, 31, 23, 59, 59) and
    {Reports.RptAuthors} like {?SlctResearcher}
I do get the parameter prompt field, but still no results even if I put in a valid substring value (since it is not searching for a substring anymore...)
    How can I do this?
    Thanks,
    Will

1st thing... Make a copy of your report before doing anything!!!
To use a SQL Command, you'll want to open the Database Expert and look at the Current Connections. Expand the data source and the 1st option you see is the Add Command option.
To find the SQL That CR is currently using, choose Database from the menu bar and select Show SQL Query...
You can copy this and paste it directly into the command window. (If you you can write your own SQL you don't need copy CR's, it's just an option.)
You'll also want to take not of any parameters that you have, you'll need to add them the the Parameter List of the command as well... be sure to spell them EXACTLY as they are in the design pane.
Anyway, once the SQL statement is in the Command window you'll be able to alter the WHERE clause to use the wild cards.
For future reference... What type of database are you reporting against???

    Hi,
For writing a substitution exit code you will need the help of your ABAPer.
Use T Code GGB1 to create a substitution. In the application Area select Financial Accounting --> Line item.
Create a substitution for your company code. Under Substitution Create Step. When you click on step it will give you a list of fields in BSEG table. Select field name XREF1 or XREF2 or XREF3 any one. In the next screen select "Exit". In the Prerequisites give conditions as BKPF-BUKRS = 1000 (your company code).
In the Substitution select your exit code against  your XREF1 or XREF2 or XREF3 field.
While writing the exit code you can give the logic as select BSEG-KUNNR and pass to table KNA1. Then populate BSEG-XREF1 with KNA1-NAME1
Save this substitution and activate it in T Code "OBBH"
While writing Substitution exit copy the standard program "RGGBS000" and create your Z program. Write your new code in the Z program. This step should be done before you create a substitution. Use T Code GCX2 and maintain your Z program against Application Area "GBLS".
Also see to it that the Reference Key1 / 2 / 3 field is made optional in all the Posting Keys and Field Status Groups.
Please let me know whether this helps.

    Hi Sairam,
    Go through this info.
/3 provides three "customization spots" that allow you to enhance FI/CO features without modifying the standard code. Although often collectively referred to as "user exits," two of the three have different names. SAP Enhancements are used to expand the standard functionality within SAP. Enhancements use function modules and are called from the standard SAP code. Each module in the system has a set of delivered enhancements that help companies expand the standard functionality where they need it. Enhancements were new in release 3.0.
The Open FI Interfaces or Business Transaction Events are also used to expand the standard functionality within SAP. These events are defined in the IMG. Business Transaction Events were new in release 4.0. They are not available for all modules and are not called on all integrated transactions into FI as of release 4.5B. This will change with each release and should be retested. The older User Exits in FI/CO are "Z" programs that are defined in table T80D for client-dependent user exits, and in table T80I for client-independent user exits. These are also used to expand the standard functionality within the FI/CO modules. These User Exits have been available since the early releases of SAP. All of these FI/CO User Exits are listed in this document in the Configuring User Exits (Older). The list is included because these User Exits are not a part of the Enhancements or Business Transaction Events and do not have an Info System for searching.
Benefits•        Standard SAP functionality can be enhanced without modification to the standard code.
    •        Upgrades do not erase the functionality and it does not have to be re-transported or re-entered into the system. The enhancements should be thoroughly tested when upgrading to ensure the system will still work as implemented.
    Configuring SAP Enhancements
Basic Steps in Configuring an Enhancement
    •        Find the appropriate Enhancement.
    •        Enter the ABAP code in the "Z" program within the function module.
    •        Create a project.
    •        Add the Enhancement to the project.

    Example Business Scenario for Enhancements
Company A has a requirement to validate all customer master records created with a U.S. address. The U.S. entity reports on the industry field on the customer master. This is only a U.S. requirement and should not be required for the other countries, so the field status would not work. To accomplish this requirement, Company A will need to set up an Enhancement for the customer master transaction. The necessary steps are detailed below with screenprints. This example was configured in a 4.6C system.
    Detailed Steps
    1.    Tools   ABAP Workbench   Utilities   Enhancements   Definition   Utilities   List Enhancements

SAP users update the business unit determination rules in table ZZBUSUNIT by entering the G/L account, fund and functional area, and then the business unit that combination should be posting to. The User Exit will read table ZZBUSUNIT using the G/L account, fund and functional area from the posting transaction and determine the business unit. The steps for using the user exit are detailed below. This example was created on a 4.6C system.
    1.      Copy the delivered template User Exit program RGIVU000_TEMPLATE into a "Z" program. Follow menu path Tools   ABAP Workbench   Development   ABAP Editor (transaction code SE38). In early releases, the delivered program was RGIVU000.
    2.      You will be prompted for a development class and a transport. Please check with the technical team for the correct development class.
    3.      At the initial ABAP Editor screen, enter your new "Z" program name, select the Source Code button and click on Change (see Figure 13).
Figure 13. To Enter Your New Code, Select Source Code and Click on the Change Button
    4.      Enter the following code in the User Exit (Figure 14):
    FORM E01_MVC USING FROM_FIELD TO_FIELD.
to_field = 'CORP'. "Set a default business unit.
read table zzbusunit to determine the business unit field.
select single z_bunit from zzbusunit into to_field
       where hkont = accit_glx-hkont and
        geber = accit_glx-geber and
        fkber = accit_glx-fkber.
    ENDFORM.
Figure 14. Enter Your New Code at This Screen.
    5.      Activate the program by clicking on the Activate button.
    6.      Change the configuration in the User Exit table to point to your new "Z" program.
    7.      Follow the IMG menu path: Financial Accounting   Special Purpose Ledger   Basic Settings   User Exits   Maintain Client Specific User Exits.
    8.      The entry to maintain is application area GIMV: Variable Field Movement. Enter your "Z" program (see Figure 15).
Figure 15. Enter Your "Z" Program in the Application Area GIMV: Variable Field Movement
    9.      Save the changes.
    10.  The final configuration step is to assign the User Exit in the variable field movement for your special ledger table. In the IMG: Financial Accounting ? Special Purpose Ledger ? Basic Settings ? Master Data ? Maintain Field Movements. Field movements control how the fields in a special ledger table are populated. They can be populated straight from other fields in a posting or through User Exits.
Figure 16. After You Assign the Business Unit Field and the G/L Account, the Exit Field Should Contain U01.
    11.  Assign the business unit field as a receiver and the G/L account as the sender. The Exit field should contain U01 (see Figure 16).
    12.  The User Exit number U01 calls User Exit E01_MVC form in the "Z" program.
    13.  Save the field movement.
    14.  You are ready to test your User Exit!
    Rewords some points.

  • Custom fields in FD32 Transaction

    Hi All,
My requirement is to add custom Fields in FD32 transaction in central data tab.
    Please help.

    Hi Santhosh,
I am not that familar with FD32 functionality but by looking at its program in subroutine ECS_INITIALISIEREN, it call function OPEN_FI_SUBSCREENS_GET to get a list of screens for displaying. So I guess you need to investigate in this function what tables need to be populated so that maybe a customer screen can be added within FD32.
You should not use screen 210 or any subscreens in SAP program except it goes thru User Exit (SMOD) or BADI (SE18).

  • How to add a new field in migo transaction (header level)

    hi guru's
can you please tell me how to add a field in migo transaction?
i want to add a field in header data and that too under "general" tab. i dont have data regarding that field.
and when we enter a value for that field in migo, it has to take .
    thank you.

Hi, My problem is allmost like the one you are discussing here....
I have appended MKPF for my Z-fields and created a sub-screen (Design the screen). I am calling this screen in PBO_HEADER. Now i can see my newly created tab along with fields.
    Now the problem is:-
    1. How I can transfer that data entered in screen fields back to my BADI.
    2. How to update my z-fields in MKPF table along with standard fields. I have tried using FM - 'J_1IEXGM_BADI_POST_DOCUMENT' in Method - POST_DOCUMENT, but its not updating table record in MKPF for Z-Fields.
    Please advice.....
    Thanks

  • SharePoint Bug? Conflict Error when saving a Page with a "Required" DateTime field in the page layout

    Hello,
I've just recently encountered a weird error / bug in SharePoint. Here is the scenario:
    - I have a custom column "Test Date" that is of DateTime field type. The field is configured as REQUIRED.
    - It is added to a custom Content Type "Test CT" that is based on a "Publishing Page" content type
    - I have created a Page Layout "Test PL" which is based on that particular content type.
    Now here is what happens:
    1. I try to create a page based on both that Content Type and Page Layout in the Pages Library. I manage to create it successfully.
    2. However, when I go to try and edit the page, fill-in the required values and try to save it using the PAGE TAB -> SAVE BUTTON, I get the below error/s. Note that this happens no matter what I choose in the drop-down menu for Save Button.
"The file XXX has been modified by USER on DATE"
But I know I am the ONLY user modifying the page.
If I try to save again it gives me options to whether Discard my Changes, Keep Editing, Overwrite Changes, or Merge.
    3. HOWEVER, if I use the Save button on the UPPER RIGHT corner of the screen (the shortcut). I am able to save successfully without any errors!
The only thing I've tried that made it work was if I made the DateTime OPTIONAL. But I need it to be REQUIRED.
Is there any workaround to this error / bug?
    Thanks

I have some additional info but nothing really good.
If you click the Save in the left side of the Ribbon then it looks like that is when you get the message. If you click the Save in the top right corner you won't get the message. They must be calling different saving functions.
There really is no way around it other than making the field optional which probably removes some server side validation checks causing that message.
We've chosen to remove that field from the page as I needed it required, then they can't publish the page until they go to the properties and set the article date. By removing the field from the page layout the message goes away.
I hope MS will fix this at some point.
