Using Basic Template, Title in Huge Letters

I'm using the Basic template. The cover's fine. But once I put in a page, in this case a main title (same thing with a half-title), when I open it in the iBooks app on my iMac, I see the cover. Next it moves to thumbnails across the bottom and rather than that first page, the main title, I see the book's title in very large type, breaking a word without using hyphens, and in a typeface that's not of my chosing.
If I open the unmodified Basic template with the Books app there's nothing but what's in the template--no title in big type. What's a guy got to do to get the lagrge type title out of there?

Reader app?? do you mean Preview in iBooks on iPad or Mac?. if so you should be able to select the TOC or on the Mac open "thumbnails".
Delete all versions on iPad and Mac iBooks app and you should do this every time you finish any preview..on either device. Next preview is "new", also. preview on iMac is more reliable than iPad.
Basically, you need to visit every page you created and select the titles and check the size, font etc.
How far advanced into creating your book are you....if its few pages... it may be easier to start a new template.

Ok, I'll give you the steps to take to create a template from
that mulberry
page.
Make sure the page you want to create a template from is
correctly coded,
the links are correct, the links to graphics are correct
extra.
1.Open the site you want to work on. ( you need to be working
in a defined
DW site for templates to be created correctly
2.Open the index page (which is the one I presume you want to
create into a
template).
3.Leave everything as it is.
4. Go to FILE>SAVE AS TEMPLATE
5. You will get a dialogue box..
with the Site box already filled in (should be the name of
you defined site)
Save As: give your template a name (eg: mainpage)
Save
6. You will be asked to update links. Say yes
7. You now need to create an editable region (this is the
area that you
will be changing on every page).
8. Highlight the center table in your content area
9. Go to : INSERT>TEMPLATE OBJECTS> select Editable
Region
10. Dialogue box: Name: maincontent (or whatever you want to
call this
editable region)
11. Click OK
12. You have now created a template.
the code around your table should now look like this:

<table> bla bla bla </table>

13. Now if you want to create a 'child page' from this
template go to:
FILE>NEW> and select the TEMPLATES tab
You should now see the name of the template you create.
13. Select the template and a page will now be created for
you.
You should now see a page exactly the same as your index page
(if that is
what you used to create the template), except that you can't
change anything
in any area apart from that middle table.
14. You now need to save this page.
SAVE AS: services.html (or whatever).
Make sure you save the file to the root of your folder (where
all your other
files are kept, DO NOT save into the template folder) You are
not to have
anything in the Templates folder apart from the dwt file.
15. Your bottom links in your template file (dwt) will look
something like
this:
a href="../howtofoldpocketsquares/pocketsquarefolds.htm"
This is because once the template is created, the link needs
to point to the
root of your site.
When you look at the same link in the child page you created
it will look
like this:
a href="howtofoldpocketsquares/pocketsquarefolds.htm"
That's about it. You cannot however, apply this template to
your other
pages. You can, however, it may be difficult for a novice to
accomplish
until they understand how templates work.
If you managae to create the template, you will have to
create a child page
and then copy and paste the contents from your other pages
into that
maincontent editable region you create.
Another thing to remember is that in your template, make sure
when / if you
add links to make them Relative to: document. This way, your
linking should
always be correct.
For when you want to create a new template at any other time
(not with this
site), the steps are pretty similar. Create your page, save
as template,
add any editable regions you need and follow the steps from
there.
PS: I did notice in your code, that you are using <th>
in your tables
instead of <tr>
<th> is really used for headings, you should be using
<tr> table rows.
When you insert a table, there should be a dialogue box,
where you need to
DESELECT header rows.
Anything that gets put into a <th> gets a bold
formatting, which is not what
you really want when you create a table correctly.

Spry accordion works in template, but not pages using that template

So I added a spry accordion to one of my templates and changed the script to default closed. It works great. In the template. But not in any of the pages using that template. Basically I can see the content in the accordion on the page as if there is no accordion at all. And I can see the script and html telling me an accordion should be there. It just isn't. I can see the framework when in edit mode. But in live mode, it's like there's not there but the content.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS6.
Any thoughts?

If the template has been created properly, then the Spry files should automatically be included in the child page(s).

How do I import contact list using advanced template?

I used to be able to do this - but don't seem to be able to see the option with the new interface. I originally downloaded the advanced excel template - it had more fields than the basic template available on the 'Import contacts' page.

I believe you are trying to import contacts in CRM,
You just need to import the file through CRM > Customers > Advance Import.
If you want to import only Email, Title, First name , Surname and company name you can go with basic import , else use Import contacts(Advanced)

How to use a Template in reports as in Forms ?

Goal:
I need to use reuse a common code in all of my reports.
Current scenario:
I need to display Report title, database name and report REP file name in the header of each report. So if I change at one place it should be reflected at all he places I refer this code.
P.S. I have a table which stores report file name and title in report.
Questions:
1) Is there a way to know the REP file name in the report like we have in the form GET_FORM_PROPERTY ?
(Because once I know the rep file name I can search in my table to fetch the description, as I don't want
to hard-code the REP name anywhere in the code)
2) Getting the database name is not a problem, I can always query v$database or v$instance to get the db name.
2) Where can I put this code so that I can refer the same code in all the reports, like the way we do it in
the forms (by subclassing an object or object group from Template or a common form to individual form).

Thanks very much. Get_Report_name works.
But I have an additional problem:
The changes I make in the template, are not getting reflected in the report based on the template i.e. There is no more reference once I make a report based on the template unlike in forms where I can "keep the path" while subclassing any object from one form to another.
Is it the default bahaviour of using the template ? Or do I need to do something else ?

Using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog

I have a site which was created in Adobe Muse and is hosted on Business Catalyst.
I have created both a desktop and a phone versions of the site.
I want to know how I can integrate the blogs that I currently have on the desktop site with the phone version that I just did, using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog. This is in order to ensure that visitors to the blogs on the website are directed to the templates that render correctly for the devices they are using.
My current approach has been to create both a desktop and phone versions of the blogs. The problem with this however, is that the dates are different and the comments are separated between the two blog versions!
I have also tried enabling mobile templates in BC, but still couldn't find a way to specify the mobile versions of the templates for the same blog?
To recap my problem, I basically need a solution where the same blog uses different templates for desktop and mobile (both templates use different navigation headings and menu styles)

There can be few reason for this, including page contents links or contents used in phone/tablet version.
Please provide the site url , also try to publish the site as a trial site in Business Catalyst with all layouts which would help to isolate the issue.

Using a template in InDesign

Maybe this is very basic, but for some reason I can't figure out how to actually use a template. I laid out and saved one with the text in it. Is that the proper way, or am I supposed to remove dummy text first? If I do that, how will the template style apply?
If anyone could point out or explain how to place a document in a new template and have the template style apply automatically?

I really don't think you read and think in your haste to post. You are
calling the kettle black. All I said originally was that your post didn't
sound like that much different a take. So why did you respond to argue that?
From that, I defended myself only by showing what you said about my posts

Using a Template on a Different Folder

Hi!
I have a website which home page is in \folder1\subf1. It
uses a template located on \folder1\subf1\templates. This template
has several links referring to files located on \folder1\subf1, and
images located on \folder1\subf1\images.
I am modifying an html file located on \folder1\subf2 and it
uses the same template mentioned above. The one located on
\folder1\subf1\templates. When I check on the browser the modified
file, the links are broken and the images can not be found. I think
that this happens because the template and images are on a
different subfolder.
I would like to know how I can use on the html file located
on \folder1\subf2 the template and images located on
\folder1\subf1\templates and \folder1\subf1\images without having
to copy the templates and images folders to \folder1\subf2. Does
this require modifications to the template? If so, how I can do
them without affecting the other html files already using this

Sample:
A report showing sales per region should be used by our 4 different brands. If one user opens the report the title could be
GOLF DISTR INC with their logo and when another user opens the report it would say BADMINTON INC with their logo.

Using Halo Template

I need help with understanding why the menu bar in the Halo
Template that I am using to construct a web page does not show. I
experience a shift in the design under one of the "div" tags when I
attempt to customize the image tag under the Page Title tag and
when I go to save, the menu bar disappears, the small logo shifts
to the left, the page title moves to the top, the bottom navigation
overwrites the navigation at the top. I have attempted to redo this
page several times and each time I get to this section, this
scenario occurs.
I have checked my syntax to make sure that I included the
necessary opening and closing quotations marks around my
customization preferences. I have also checked to see if I am
somehow deleting key code that was originally necessary (I printed
out a copy of the original template code and have went line for
line.
Is there a tutorial that explains this Page Design template
that was included with my version of Dreamweaver located within
this forum or another section of Adobe that anyone can point me to?
Or has anyone used this template to design a web page and may have
some words of wisdom that would help?

Save output of BIP report that uses etext template

Hi,
I have made a BIP report using etext template and when I click on View, it displays the data fine. But I want to save this as a text file with all the formatting intact. If I try to Export, the formatting goes haywire in the resultant txt file.
Can anyone advise me how to save this as a txt file without disturbing the formatting?

Problems using the template feature in CS3

Appreciation in advance to anyone trying to help me out, as I am a little lost to say the least...
Firstly the website I'm talking about it www.handbakedarcade.co.uk
I recently re-built the site using the template feature on dreamweaver as I have a lot of pages and all have the same general layout with just one large editable region in the main section of each page. The trouble I'm having is that when i change the template (named TEMPLATE3.dwt) and then re-upload it as well as the pages that are dependent on it the changes are not seen. The problem is simple, I will try and prepare for the answer not to be!

Looking at the page you linked it - it doesn't show any template markup at all. There are no editable or non-editable regions showing in the code.
The actual master template (the dwt file) does not have to be uploaded to the server. Once you make changes to a template, the changes flow through to all the child pages associated with the template and these are the files that need to be uploaded.    You can upload the templates folder to the remote if you wish to keep a copy as a backup, but it makes no difference to the associated with it.
Not sure what's happened to you page, as Nancy pointed out the opening and closing <body> tags are missing.
I have created an ID for the outer div so that we can give it some styles so that it is centered on the page and also that the content within the wrapper are centered.
Copy and paste the following code in a new DW document and see the differences between your original code (the page that you linked to) and the code below.

and when I run this url which seems to be working fine and on run it I test it, also it gives wsdl url which is

and on clicking this url it opens the xml document.

OVM - using JDE Templates

Hello,
I'm new with OVM and starting to work with JDE's E1 templates. I would like to start by using the database template. I have the database .img file extracted and ready to go in the running_pool directory. The next steps are to launch the script that will start creating the database VM.
Question: How do I determine the Hard drive allocation I want to have for this particular database ?
I only see an option to allocate memory and cpu in the RAM but no reference is made as to how large the VM will be, in terms of hard drive space.
What parameter(s) determine that when using such templates ?

I've still not found my info.
Can anyone please share some basic info regarding installing these templates. In installing E1 templates, is it recommended to follow the command line process as stated in the Quick Installation Guide or use the gui console ?

Templates not uploading all pages using same template.

Hey guys, I'm having difficulties with Dreamweaver at the moment.
Here's the problem:
I've created a template for my current website. This file has .dwt so it's the template.
I've created so far 3 different pages using html and the template.dwt file.
The template has a editable region for the content.
But, I was editing the non editable regions, like the naviagation links and names.
I changed some information on the template file, pressed Ctrl+S then this window popped up:

Yes, it works so far according to dream weaver template guides, but I have 2 other pages using the templates which are named index.html and staffinfo.html, which is not showing up there.
After I pressed update: It shows:

I'm wondering what might be the problem there. I had a look at the html code on my other 2 pages that wern't displayed, and at the top it was linked with the template file name which was the same as the "offguides".
Another question i want to ask is, is there a way to update a template without already having to open the files with the templates on? Because at the moment, I have to open all the files with the template on, then save them manually after I saved the template. Because if i have like 1000 different pages using the same templates it would be quite time consuming to keep pressing save and open 1000 different tabs for the pages. So is there like a auto update & save? The two other pages doesn't show up in the pop-up window, but if I open them the templates updates them, but i still have to save manually.
