Using BPEL test suites

I am trying to use the "test suites" feature in 10.1.3.
Is there any documentation available?
I am not able to build "message instance files". Is there wizard for creating them?

Is it possible that this feature is not really implemented yet?
Just some nice icons in Jdeveloper?
In Websphere there is a complete simulation environment.... (WITH DOCUMENTATION!!!)
In my opinion the only workaround is to use the ESB with an database adapter, which listens on a table.
There one can insert the "test-messages"...

  • BPEL Test Suite description

    Hi people!
    I would like to change the description "no description" that describes the Test Suite in the BPEL COnsole.
    I tried many things in the tests_suites.xml but no result...
    <testSuites>
    <testSuite name="Tests" deploy="yes">
    <unittest name="I104_test_100.xml" deploy="true"/>
    <unittest name="I104_test_110.xml" deploy="true"/>
    <unittest name="I104_test_120.xml" deploy="true"/>
    </testSuite>
    </testSuites>
    I managed to change the description field of each test with the <about> tag in the xml file :
    <BPELTest processName="EC_S_GEST_CREPP_BPEL"
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/instancedriver">
    <about> here is my description ...</about>
    </BPELTest>
    any idea ?
    Thanks,
    romain.

    Undeploy. Deploy again. Have no effect.
    I use wizards so I don't know where I miss.
    here is onTest.xml

  • Processing Electronic Invoices using BPEL/SOA suite.

    Hi,
    We have a requirement in our projects as:
    We need to create Electronic Invoices for all Receivable Transactions for those Customers with whom there is an Agreement to send Invoice information electronically. We need to send the Invoice details(xdf format/XML output) to customers seeking an acknowledgement. While sending the Invoice details to the customer we need to send an attchment with it.
    We are planning to achieve this using Oracle SOA Suite and BPEL Process. Can any one please help us in approaching the design?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Kiran G

    Hi,
    Some shameless self promotion, I just wrote an article on OTN on processing invoices in an SOA-environment. See: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/luttikhuizen-esbcase.html.
    Hope it helps,

  • BPEL Test Suite issue

    I am trying to emulate the human task in BPEL process. here is the test source to emulate the human task
    <initiate operation="process">
    <inboundMessage>
    <part fileName="input_row_id_120780.xml" name="payload"/>
    </inboundMessage>
    </initiate>
    <activityDriver name="initiateTask_WorkFlowFollowUpInitiate_1">
    <emulate duration="PT">
    <inboundMessage>
    <part fileName="initiate_response_12780.xml" name="payload"/>
    </inboundMessage>
    </emulate>
    </activityDriver>
    <activityDriver name="receiveTaskUpdates_WorkFlowFollowUpInitiate_1">
    <triggerOnMessage doBeforeActivity="true" onMessageName="initiateCompleted">
    <inboundMessage>
    <part name="payload" fileName="initiate_withdrawn_120780.xml"/>
    </inboundMessage>
    </triggerOnMessage>
    <assertValue variableName="inputVariable" partName="payload"
    comparisonMethod="string" fatal="false" patternMatch="true">
    <message>test</message>
    <actualPath>/client:WorkFlow4FollowUpProcessProcessRequest/client:input</actualPath>
    <expected>[0-9]+</expected>
    </assertValue>
    </activityDriver>
    but it does not seem to be working. I cannot see any human task created in the worklist application but the instance keep waiting for the callback message which I am already giving through "triggerOnMessage".
    I dont understand what am i doing wrong. Other thing I want to do is can I use the "triggerOnMessage" without emulating the "initiateTask" response.

    Hi Clemens,
    Thanks for the reply. I was not setting the correlation sets previously. but now when I setup the correlation sets, I am getting the following exceptions.
    I am running 10.1.3.5. I tried redeploying the process but with no success. I am using the pick activity to receive callbacks.
    I also see bug *5332819* on metalink. It says this issue was fixed in 10.1.3.2. But still I am running into to the same issue with 10.1.3.5. Any suggestion or workaround

  • BPEL Test Suite : Emulate ProcessRequest of Synch Partner

    Hi All
    I want to emulate the ProcessRequest message for synchronous partner.
    When I create the test case I can emulate the ProcessResponse message for synch partner but not ProcessRequest message.
    Please help me on this.
    Thanks
    Jamith

    Hi James
    Thank you very much for your reply.
    I understand what you have said. But still I have the question on the following scenario.
    Can I simulate (emulate) the inbound message for a partner (synch or asynch) assuming the main bpel is passing some parameters
    to the partner ? (I know a asserts can be added in this scenario). The objective is to perform partner test on the partner in the test
    case for the main bpel process.
    And can you refer me a good document that gives an example for "External Calls" in test framework ?
    Thanks

  • Any Good Oracle Tutorial around BPEL TEST Processes

    Hi
    Is there any Tutorial around using BPEL Test Processes ? OR dev guide is the only reference available?

    Madhu
    Thx but I needed tutorial for creating TEST cases in BPEL from Jdev and creating automatic test scripts for regression testing. There is one chapter in Bpel Dev guide that talks about creating Test Suits/Enumerations/Assertions etc and I wanted to check if there is a tutorial on that.

    Hi,
    I think you haven't start the server.So the program is trying to connect to the server and is raising the exception.

  • Get Custom SOAP Header Value in SOA Suite 11.1.1.6 using BPEL 1.1

    Hi Experts,
    We are using SOA Suite 11.1.1.6 and in one of the projects we have requirement to retrieve custom SOAP header value.
    This is enhancement to existing process which is developed using BPEL 1.1 and deployed to Production. So we cannot convert this now to BPEL 2.0
    We suggested to use custom XML element in Header the definition of which will be defined in custom XSD and stored in common location. However the 3rd party who are invoking this service will not be able to do any customization in their process to pass custom XML header.
    Please can you help me in providing any approach through which we can retrieve custom Header value from SOAP header using BPEL 1.1
    I have read some blogs for retrieving the custom XML header but they are using BPEL 2.0. I would like achieve this functionality using BPEL 1.1
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks in Advance - RK

    Hello RK,
    Have you've tried to put the bpex:outputHeaderVariable on the invoke activity of the invoked service.
    <invoke name="Invoke"
                bpelx:outputHeaderVariable="HeaderVariable"/>
    Where the "HeaderVariable" reflects the XSD Datastructure of the received header.
    This is also specified here in section 6.19.1 How to Receive SOAP Headers in BPEL
    Please note that the exact header must be specified in the WSDL of the invoked service.
    Also note that in case of a soap fault. No header will be returned from the invoked service but only a /soap/body/fault part.
    Good luck!

  • Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

    Hi,
    I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
    I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
    BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
    Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
    Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
    http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
    So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :
    BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
    I'm not able to ping the Peoplesoft BPEL node to the Oracle SOA Suite 11g. Hence I'm not able to proceed with my integration.
    When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
    So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
    Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Girish

    typo error

    Hi,
    I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
    "Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
    And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/fusion/soa/BPEL_PS848/OBE_PSFT_BPEL_848.htm]
    I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
    By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Using Test Plan and Test Suites as work items

    Hi everybody.
    I need to incorporate  the new feature of TFS 2013 that let me manage Test Plans and Test Suites as work ítems to my current  TFS environment. I have TFS 2013 Update 3 (12.0.30324); I guess this feature was released after the release I have.
    So, my questions are:
    - How can I integrate the work ítem definitions to my process template? I'm using a customized version of CMMI 12.2 and this version didn't have this elements as work ítems.
    - How can I adjust the existing data of all my Team Projects in order to use this functionality?
    - Is there any impact on the existing Reporting Services reports? or the new process template have incorporated the appropiated changes?
    - Do I need to upgrade my TFS Server? If so, a migration process is needed?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best regards.

    Hi AjdPC,
    Thanks for your post.
    Yes, this feature released in TFS 2013 Update 3. But as the TFS 2013 Update 4 has released too, so we suggest you upgrade your TFS to TFS 2013 Update 4.
    After you upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4, if you want use this feature in the old/upgraded team projects, you need configure features for these team project, please refer to the detailed information in this document:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff432837.aspx. For example, if one your upgraded team project created using CMMI 12.2, open this team project’s Web Access admin page, click
    Configure Features>>select the CMMI 2013.4 in the
    Choose a process template to continue textbox, then click Configure button.
    For the custom process templates, we suggest you download the new 2013.4 versions process template from your collection after upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4, then custom that 2013.4 process templates to instead of that old customized 12.2 process templates,
    then upload the new customized process templates to your collection and create team project use them if you want.
    That not impact your Reporting Services reports.
    As I said, we suggest you upgrade to TFS 2013 Update 4, In-place upgrade or migrate upgrade both are ok.
    Note: make the full backup for your TFS Server databases before any upgrade or migrate operation.

  • Unable to create the test suits file!

    Dear Experts!
    Getting the "Unable to create the test suits file!" error while opening .bpel file in JDeveloper 10.1.3.5. Also, all the partner links showing warning symbol. When I click on them, getting the following error:
    ERROR:WSDLException: faultCode=INVALID_WSDL: Invalid XML in document at: Start of root element expected.
    Looks like partner links are not mapped correctly. Could you please throw some light, where I need to fix the issue.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thank you.

    I had similar issue sometimes back, error was because sample xml my test was using wasn't conforming to my code. In my case, I didn't write test suite so deployment was successful and was getting error while testing post deployment. In your case, test suite will execute.
    Try to follow your xslt mapping or any xpath statements within bpel flow, it must be having direct mapping of some element from source but your sample input xml might not be having that element and hence resulting in error. Try iterative debugging by adding more elements in input xml.

  • Integrating CRM On Demand with EBS (12.1.3) using BPEL

    Hi,
    I am working on POC for the integration between EBS and CRM On Demand. We are EBS R12.1.3 and have SOA Suite 10g.
    We are planning to use BPEL to do this communication between EBS and CRM OD. Is this something that is possible using BPEL. In additional to BPEL, do we need Java coding or any other language coding?
    I donwloaded the Account WSDL from the CRM OD website. Created a new BPEL Process using that WSDL. I read that we need to pass the login credentials using a soap header. Can you please let me know how we can do this in a BPEL Process.
    Any pointers would help me alot.
    Thanks in advance.

    The Test project jar is created as ADF Library JAR File with Model.jpr as the dependent project. This takes care of project class dependencies
    All the adf library dependencies are added to the manifest file of the Test Project jar referring to a location lib/ in the jar file directory.

    Class-Path: lib/identitystore.jar
    lib/adfm.jar
    lib/groovy-all-1.6.3.jar
    lib/adftransactionsdt.jar

    lib/db-ca.jar
    lib/jdev-cm.jar
    lib/ojmisc.jar
    lib/commons-el.jar
    lib/jsp-el-api.jar
    etc...
    So I expect the library references should be resolved looking at the manifest file.
    Another set of entries that I see in the jdev classpath are related to the Model project which is under test.
    -classpath
    D:\CurrentProject_1\16_7_2013_3pm\11_7_2013\.adf;
    D:\CurrentProject_1\16_7_2013_3pm\11_7_2013\Model\classes;
    How do I put these entries into my class path? Will it be sufficient if I add the Model.jar into my test project classpath?
    Thanks,
