Using Business Catalyst to publish my Muse Web design

I have a creative cloud membership to create a website in Muse.  Is there an additional charge for BC to publish my site?

Hi
With creative cloud subscription , you get 5 free sites to publish in BC. The free sites would be web hosting sites.
For using those free counts you don't have to pay anything extra. Create the site in Muse and publish to BC.

Our iPads work just fine behind a firewall and the Lightspeed filtering solution in an education environment.  If your proxy solution cannot be configured to support IOS maybe you should be looking at another vendor.  Products such as 8e6 and Lightspeed can be deployed without the use of a traditional proxy set up.

  • Creating database for MUSE website using Business Catalyst.

We are building a membership site using Adobe MUSE. We are also using Business Catalyst to build the CRM customer database. We are using this as an alternative to MySQL since there is no direct connection between MySQL and MUSE. The only work around we know is to export the MUSE website to HTML. Import that HTML into Adobe DREAMWEAVER and the build the connections that way. This is time consuming and prone to errors as this does not create  a  flow in both system and data manipulation design.
We would like so home in creating, maintaining and performing searching on the database we create in Business Catalyst.

    Hi there,
As I mentioned, when a form is filled (Email is always required) then this the contact is added to the CRM.
You can not render the CRM on the front end as I think you will want. You would have to look to form web apps and display things that way.
Please note that Muse is a designer tool and has limited scope in terms of its functionality compared to building a full rich website, So you will reach certain walls with what your doing.

  • Business Catalyst and new upgrades (Muse 4.0)

Regarding the Release Notes for Muse 4.0, these two bulleted points indicated that when 'publishing to a Business Catalyst site'.
Does this mean that these two new features are not guaranteed to work if you do not have a Business Catalyst hosted site?
The Accordion panel widget now supports "Close All" in Design view. The selected panel Design view will now be selected/active when previewing, exporting or publishing the site to Business Catalyst.
The selected tab in Design view for the Tabbed panel widget will now be selected/active when previewing, exporting or publishing the site to Business Catalyst.

No, just poor copyediting on our part. The feature works fine regardless of where the site is hosted.

  • Using Business Catalyst for Newsletters - Several Questions

Hello everyone - I hope the format of this forum question is okay.  I have designed our company website with Muse and we host it with Business Catalyst (webBasics+).  We like it a lot and are looking to possibly upgrade it to the next package (webMarketing) simply because of the potential for newsletters (as well as all of the other benefits like blogging and the helpful modules).
My company currently uses Constant Contact for our quarterly newsletters and holiday emails and we send to about 2800 people.  It seems obvious to me that we should ditch Constant Contact as we pay more than $50.00/month and I think it is very limiting as far as being creative goes.  It just makes sense that I should use Bc because I already use it...and the 5,000 newsletters is only $6.00 more.
    My questions are:
Are there a lot of templates to choose from?  100's? 1,000's?
Is it easy to create my own template?  Do I need Dreamweaver (Only have Creative Suite and Muse)?
Is it easy to transfer an email list I have? We have software called ACT and I am a little unsure how this works but I assume there is a certain file type we can export and just upload into Bc.
Are there options to have links to social media (facebook, twitter, etc.) in the newsletters?
Are the newsletters limited in size?  I think Constant Contact limited the width of an email to 600 pixels - occasionally we had text in a graphic we made in Photoshop - so things go a little fuzzy.
Add-on question from #5 Are there ways to layer graphics on top of one another in the newsletters aside from flattening it in Photoshop?  This was the most limiting factor in Constant Contact.
I appreciate any help with answering these questions. Again, I think it is pretty obvious and maybe you have some things to tell me that I am completely clueless about.  I basically have to make the pitch to the powers that be and I want to make sure I have a lot of the ends covered.
    Thanks!

    Hope this helps.
    1) When using Adobe BC I can use dreamweaver cs6 as well, correct? Yes. BC works in DW CS6
    2) If i download Adobe BC on my computer to build the website can I also use it on another computer to keep the products updated? I read that it's online so i'm assuming this can be done for no extra cost but i want to make sure. Yes you can have SFTP access from any computer.
    3) Can you host your website using godaddy or other hosts while using business catalyst? NO, BC is a hosted solution. You can although host email services third-party (i.e. Gmail).
    4) Lastly, if you were to make an ecommerce website for a CLIENT how would you do it? WOuld you use business catalyst or other software such as, authorize.net and a shopping cart? BC includes a full-featured shopping cart (http://www.businesscatalyst.com/features/online-store), so you would manage products in the backend. A payment gateway like Authorize.net or Paypal will be needed (http://www.businesscatalyst.com/features/payment-gateways).

  • Do I need to use Business Catalyst to use the built-in forms?

I use FTP voyager to host my website. I have a contact form on my website, when I fill out the form this dialog box appears: "This standard HTML form is configured to work with Adobe Business Catalyst". Once I click OK I then get the message the from has been sent and recieved, I check my email and I have not recieved an email.
Can somebody please tell me if there is something I need to do to overcome this issue, or do forms not work unless you are using Buinsess Catalyst?

I'm sorry. At this time, contact forms only work using Business Catalyst. Please see this forum thread for more info:

  • Is there a known issue for using IE11 when using business catalyst cms

Is there a known issue for using IE11 when using business catalyst cms?  I have a client trying to update pages on her site using IE11 and the it says it updates successfully, but the new content is not saved.

I concur with Barry; I see no significant difference in using the Home button vs. the gestures. But the "fade" effect is part of iOS 7.1 and there's no way to disable it that I know of.
    Regards.

  • I dont want to use adobe catalyst with my adobe muse forms!

I dont want to use adobe catalyst with my adobe muse forms!
I dont want to use third party plugins... Why? When I already bought Adobe Muse.
I just want to create a form in MUSE and have it simple and working - without catalyst.

So its really very good news for me, I will try it this week.
Thanks a lot mac_heibu, sorry for mismatch information.
    You made my day, bro.

  • Web hosting using business catalyst

its prob a stupid  question ..but if make a website with business catalyst and for some reason I don't renew my cc subsciption where does that leave me with editing and updating the site..
    thanks

BC site subscription depends on your CC subscription, If CC subscription is not renewed then web hosting site will not be renewed thus will convert to a trial site.
Same with Muse subscription , you can still edit and update your site with trial version, but please note that trial version has a limited time of 30 days.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Need to create a searchable employee directory in Muse.  How can I do this using Business Catalyst?

I have been tasked with updating our firm website, and have no prior web design experience.  Muse seems like a great option, but I understand that Muse has no database capabilities.  I was advised that I could find a way to incorporate a searchable employee directory (database) via Business Catalyst. Are there any links that show how to do this?

Thanks, Adam.  I think this looks like a good option for us.  Here is our current, existing website, which I am tasked with updating:
    www.bstz.com
Would you mind taking a look at the attorney directory, and confirming that the BC Meet the Team will allow me to create essentially the same sort of directory, with search fields, photos and cv?  I'm sure it will, but I just need confirmation before I go too much further down the design path.
Right now I am just on trial Adobe Creative Cloud membership, so I was able to download and experiment with Muse.  I believe the cost to continue this would be about $15/month.  If I join Business Catalyst with eCommerce membership, would that be in addition to the Adobe Creative Cloud membership?  I'm going to need to give a proposal to my partners, and I want to make sure I am accurately stating the monthly costs.  We currently have our own in-house server, and I want to be able to rationalize moving away from that.
Thank you for your continuing expertise.

  • Business Catalyst thinks I deleted my web form

I thought I may have found a way around Muse's weak forms implementation, by creating a web form on Business Catalyst > Site Manager > Web Forms.
I created a web form, set the email response, copied the html, inserted the HTML on a Muse page, published the site, filled out the form, and got this:
So I went back to the same page on Business Catalyst, deleted the web form I just made minutes ago, created it AGAIN from scratch, inserted the HTML in my Muse page, published it, filled out the form, and got the SAME ERROR message a second time.
I did not delete the form, but Business Catalyst thinks I did.  :-(
How do I get around this "error of an ERROR?"
I noticed that there are THREE forms on BC with similar names (I only made ONE). To be sure that I'm working in the correct form, I COPIED it -- it now has the same name as before, plus the word "Copy." But when I open the copied form, all the fields are in the wrong order. I tried this several times, and this weirdness is consistent. Right now I'm really stumped on getting a decent (customized) form in Muse.
    Thanks for any help.

Thank you, Vikas. That was the trick.  :+)
I still don't understand what "submit a case" means, but I was able to get it to work, possibly not as you expected (?)
I had already published this site in its partially-developed state, when trying to get the form to also be published. So it was in the web page already, as the completed form.
All I did after reading your message was to go directly to businesscatalyst.com, create a new simple (unfinished) form, and then via Site Manager > Web Forms > More Actions > Add Web Form to a Web Page, choosing the contact page from my site in development.
When I opened the previously-uploaded site in my browser, the ENTIRE form was there as originally published, exactly as it was originally and formatted placed in Muse.
It works, but I confess it's about as UN-intuitive as it can be!  :+)
    Thanks again.

  • Business Catalyst Site Manager Only Showing Web Forms

I am having a horrible time trying to just apply and setup a template in business catalyst. I have gotten to the point where you add the HTML {tag_pagecontent} into a page in muse. Now I went to my admin panel and went to the site manager drop down. All it shows is web forms and system emails! Isn't there supposed to be buttons for templates etc?! I hope someone has the answers, btw I am using a trial site currently but that shouldn't make a difference right? Thanks in advance.

I figured it out, I had to click on my name in the right corner within the BC admin. Then click on my details and scroll down and check box the "enable web editing" and save. That made all site manager options available.

  • Getting Business Catalyst Forms working with Muse in Webmarketing Package

    Hi All,
I am having problems with forms using BC Webmarketing packaging and Muse.
When I past the html code for the BC form into a Muse page then upload it I get the following error message
    http://www.virtualteacher.com.au/images/error-webform.jpg
and the web form is deleted from my Business Catalyst web Forms list.
What is the best solution for integration between BC and Muse.
I want to be continually updating aspects of both.
Can I quarantine some BC pages that Muse will not update?
    Any suggestions would be great.
    ciao
    Cathy

    Hi Sanjit,
The problem is that when I update the Muse template page with the BC code
    {tag_pagecontent}
The Business Catalyst template it is  based on this doesn't update or screws up the page.
    Registration
The form is there as I have used it a number of times but the template page doesn't load properly
    ciao

  • Business Catalyst is more than Muse

Just in case anyone feels worried about BC when they watch or are watching the Creative Cloud Live event...
Adobe event, they have their software, one is Muse which works with BC. They are covering A LOT of products in a relative short time, this is just a launch event, get people excited and show up the basics stuff.
So do not think BC is just being Muse, It wont.

    Hi Liam,
I just saw in a related adobe forum this Adobe employee response about Muse and using BC as a CMS system:
    1. Apr 23, 2012 12:01 PM (in response to Wild Bucky)
Correct AnswerRe: A New Muse User
    Hi Wild Bucky,
Login capabilities or user specific private content as part of a Content Management System are not features currently available in Muse. CMS features will not be part of the Muse 1.0 release. We intend to add CMS features to Muse in the future that will work with Adobe's Business Catalyst platform. Business Catalyst already has CMS features (see http://www.businesscatalyst.com/product-tour/overview for more info), but Muse isn't yet able to take advantage of them natively.
    Best regards,
    Corey
I believe I also saw another post talking about adding eCommerce functionality to Muse.
I was wondering your take on this. It concerns me as it dilutes my message that as a BC Partner I can provide more robust functionality than product like that. I'm surprise to hear that the road map may include allowing Muse to natively create deep functionality and confusion that will happen trying to explain to a client why a Partner BC site would be more appropriate than a Muse site.
    Your thoughts?

  • How can I create Business Catalyst editable slideshows in Muse?

I've created a series of slideshows in Adobe Muse but my client cannot edit them in Business Catalyst.
    Please help!
    http://www.timelinemissions.com/work.html

If you like to have a constant amout of imgs, lets say 3, you can define the images as a InContext Editable image and the caption as a InContext Editable line.  I usally prerer this solution in front of WebApps as the customer can edit almost everything using ICE-mode.
Please refer to the ICE documentation for more details of implementation.
If you need a more flexible solution I would recommend a WebApp with a field that you define as a image. Then add new WebApp items for every image. If you like to limit the size of a image you can use BC Thumbnail tool. I think Joe Watkins has talked about how to use this tool before.
