Using frames in HtmlDB page

can you please help me with how to use frames in an htmldb page with a tabset .
i have a page in one tabset application i want to divide the page into frame and run a url in one of these frames

The performance of your pages are dependent on many factors. Just adding a tab should not have an impact on performance.

Htmldb_lang.message used in non HTMLDB session?

Hi,
I have some pl/sql code that is used from a HTMLDB page. The code uses htmldb_lang.message and works fine. The same code is also used from another session in a report servlet, but here the messages are not returned. I only get the name of the name of the message. I have tried to set the p_lang parameter to make sure that the right language is set, but that does not make a difference. What do I have to do to get this working?

Thanks Joel. Then I have to make my own api on WWV_FLOW_MESSAGES$. I find it a bit strange that there isnt an api that works in any context or at least have a parameter you could set to allow for this. When you make an HTMLDB application you will often use jobs or servlet etc. and it would be nice to use the same feature that is used in the rest of the application. Not that its a big task to make small message system you self, but then you have to two places to store messages.

How to use single frame in a page

Hello, i would like to now how to make a frame in a page
without having two or more, i was used to work with GoLive and
there i could use the grid an put a single frame and make links to
other pages that would open in that frame, it worked wel for me,
but since I switched from golive to dreamweaver CS3 i am not able
to do so. Is there some one how could tel me how to do so, since i
use a lot of single frames in my pages,

why are you wanting to use single frames?
They allow having the initial frame address stay in the
address bar, and not
show the linked page's address. The problems they cause
usually override any
value.
Or- if we aren't using the same words the same way, please
give an example
site of what you want to do.

Using jump menu in one frame to open page in another frame - works in IE but not Firefox

Hi,
I'm a beginner designer. I've been working to create a template for a website in which there is a banner in a frame across the top and three frames beneath - left for navigation and middle and right for content that can be compared.
I have created two jump menus in the left frame using Dreamweaver's option for it (insert/forms/jump menu): one menu to load pages in the middle frame (in the code this is 'left') and one menu to load pages in the right frame (in the code this is 'right'). Both menus use a go button.
Using Internet Explorer and allowing active content to run it works fine. In Firefox clicking 'go' does nothing however I have links in this navigation that will open a page in the middle or right ('left' and 'right') frames and if I use these the jump menus will now work.
How can I get it to work straight off?
Any feedback is welcome (except regarding not using frames!).

Firefox 4 is not saving pages (using frames) I visit in the history list, but Firefox 3 does. What could be wrong (may be related to no-cache)?

When using FF 3, I can go back through the history using the arrows on the toolbar. When using FF4, I can't. This applies to an internal site where the page uses frames and the header pragma "no-cache". This also happens in safe mode.

I don't know what the "initcardwithstoreprefs failed" means: you need to set it in context of the other messages. But the main purpose of using the tail command is to look for "loginwindow exited" messages, and then see what came before them.
So, give a bit more detail about your problem: for a start, on which of your machines is this happening? Have you tried disconnecting any USB devices except for mouse and keyboard? In fact, give a lot more detail

You only get the "This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them." text if either frames are disabled or you use a browser that doesn't support frames (the text is in a <noframes> </noframes> block). Firefox would display this text under normal conditions.
Note that the Menu object is IE only and doesn't work in Firefox.<br />
See the Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+J) for errors.<br />
The page source also shows red code for the map tag (start tag "map" seen in "table").<br />
A lot of images seem to be missing or aren't loaded because of script errors.

I've installed BO XI R3 SP4 on a 2k3-server with IIS 6.0. I wanted to configurate the SSO. After changing the web.config file and restart of the IIS , I get the following error :
HTTP Error 405 - The HTTP verb used to access this page is not allowed.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
The frame where you normally are using for authentication has this error, the frame around is normal.

How can i use my custom login page in a custom partner application ?

I'm trying to customize a login page displayed other than the default sso login page
by submiting my form to the regular pl/sql procedure : "PORTAL.wwptl_login.login_url"
but i tried to type the requested partner application url in the browser i got the sso
login page other than my custom login page. So, How can i use my custom login page in a custom partner application ?

I cannot begin to express my level of frustration. I have been trying to use the composition widget light box display for some time now. I drag the widget to my document. The default widget has three small trigger boxes and a large area made up of a forward and backward button, a background, a text box and a frame for your image.
My steps have been …
I click on the little trigger box.
I click on the frame that holds the main image.
I go to the fill menu and browse my computer for my image and then click OK.
IT shows up on my screen. Yay
I attempt to continue using the next two trigger boxes provided in the widget.
After that, I add more by clicking on the little plus sign.
This is where all heck breaks loose.
Every single time I attempt to add thumbnails, something messes up. When I go to preview, either not all of my main images show up, or it starts with the wrong one, or some are missing. I have looked and looked for help on this and the only thing I can find is how easy it is to create a great portfolio lightbox display. But as we know, that only works when your thumbnails are the same image as the images in your lightbox. If you want something different, you have to use the composition wizard. I am finding it extremely difficult and confusing to customize.
Is there an exact sequence you need to use to add images to the slideshow? I am my wits end.

Htmldb page with 'File Browse' hang on submit change

I have a htmldb page with 'File Browse' item. With File Browse empty, on pressing submit button with which has 'SQL UPDATE' action and returning to same page branch, the page hangs.
It also happen on File Import page of htmldb application itself with File Browse.
Anyone have the same problem or know why?

I'm working with Sashisu on our problem and I wanted to give a few more details on what we've found.
-We're using HTMLDB 1.6
-The problem occurs only on pages with a file upload page item.
-When clicking a link on one of the problem pages the browser will stick on retrieving the page for 1-2 minutes, then ultimately it will end in a page cannot be displayed error.
-Sometimes the page will not hang and go directly to the page cannot be displayed error.
-After encountering the error, clicking back to return to the page and then retrying the link will successfully load (and upload the file) the next page.
-The problem only happens in IE 6.0. The submits work fine in FireFox.
-Our development servers do not have this problem using the same HTMLDB code. The configuration between the servers on Development and Production is similar but not exact (we're working on finding the delta).
-We did not have this problem on production until a recent code update.

Just wanted to say that I solved the problem...
After long testing I came up with two functions (one for up and one for down) that have the following code at the end:

I also stumbled on to another problem: if I set the scroll property from the iFrame to "no", so that the scroll bar is hidden, I'm not able to use the "scrollBy(x, y)" method.
So what I did was use "frames['iframe'].document.getElementById('menu_content_div').style.top" to change the position of the content div inside the menu page. I had to put some restrictions so that the user isn't able to scroll the menu endlessly up or down, but then it worked like a charm!
If anyone whants to do something similar, this is the code I ended up with:

Hi Eben,
there is an HTMLB element for iFrames. It is called <a href="https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04s/SPS7/hb/com/sapportals/htmlb/htmlcontainer/IsolatedHtmlContainer.html">IsolatedHtmlContainer</a>. Have a look into it.
Perhaps it might solve your problems.

Import Web Page content into table, like Excel imports a Frame from a page

I have a need to import specific content from a web page (specific frame on the page) and store that data in a table. We currently have Microsoft Excel setup with a link to the page and import a specific frame off the page into Excel. But I would like to do this directly into PeopleSoft. Has anyone done something like this before?

You haven't explained what the format of the text file is and
how you want to display it. You can get the contents of a file with
CFHTTP (if it's in a web-readable directory) and treat it as a
query if it is in a delimited data format. Then you can use
CFOUTPUT as you would with any other query.
You can also use CFFILE to read the contents of a text file
and display it in your page. You can use HTML PRE tags or you can
replace the CR/LF with a BR tag to force a line break.. Lots of
options, depending on your particular situation.

Regarding using frames in jsp

I am a graduate student developing a web project. I want to use frameset and make frames in my page. I have got two frames in my page, leftFrame and rightFrame.
Now I want to give the src to leftframe as src="myhtml.htm" and to right one as src="myjsp.jsp". Now when I run the program, then i find that the html page is seen finely in the page but the jsp part of the frame gives an error which is something like this .
" The requested resource (/Atlantis/myjsp.jsp) is not available."
Is it that in a frameset we can referr to only the html pages. Cant I work with referring to .jsp pages in a frame.

I have used the jsp:include function , and am getting the jsp pages included in my jsp page.
but then the thing which I finally want, is that on the click of a button which is present in one of the included pages, i want to get
another jsp page opened, but the new page should be opened only a part of the mother page.
where as what is happening is that the whole page is refreshed and the new page replaces the parent page.
actually my code is something like this :

in the delete copies. jsp page i have put a submit button and on the click of submit i am going to another page
calles "SuccesfullyDeleted.jsp"
but the problem what i am having is that that SuccesfullyDeleted.jsp page is coming in a new page.
Can I have any mechanism by which i get this final page i.e. SuccesfullyDeleted.jsp page only restricted to the parent page's table's cell
where the DeleteCopies.jsp page was lying.

Select multiple frames across multiple pages for photos frames

Hi people!
How can i select multiple frames across multiple pages? I want my images to fit the frames by one click. I do not want to go through each page one by one . There must be some way to solve this.. or? Cant find a options that can do that so far?
Useing Adobe Indesin CS6.

You can't.
You can do it in Find/Change box. Set desired Frame Fitting Options in Object section and run find/change.

Query taking too long in HTMLDB page

Hi,
I have a tricky issue. I have a Query using HTMLDB_ITEM in a page. There are 2 queries joined using UNION clause.
The Query runs perfectly fine in TOAD or sqlplus with same paramaters.
But in HTMLDB it takes about 3-4 minutes to to show the page.
any ideas ?
