Using html without css in DWCS4

I would just like to continue using html without css. I can't
even add color to a word without css popping up. Will CS4 allow
that?

Certainly. They all load as stand alone programs.

    The "NewScrollbars"-extension replaces the default

  • Java Swing/AWT and FX is so old school! Give me HTML and CSS for GUI!

    Dear Java,
    I am a seasoned programmer and I feel it's time JAVA implements a GUI system where it uses HTML and CSS for the GUI. For the love of god just look at the interfaces you can make using HTML and CSS alone. I am a big fan of Java Swing and the recent GUI designer for FX is quite cool. But they are just not as simple as HTML and CSS. And JavaFX has some interesting requirements for the graphics.
    I know it is possible to use JavaFX and implement the WebView/WebDriver and make it load a HTML page, etc... but why go through all the trouble?
    Just imagine... if you make Java where it has powerful back-end to do what it does best and the HTML/CSS powered GUI on the front-end. It will make the lives of many developers much much easier.
    I am not sure whether a Swing designed GUI will be faster than a HTML designed GUI... but if you look at a traditional browser and how fast it renders HTML/CSS, I am sure if Java had a native Form where it uses HTML and CSS to render the GUI, Java will make the dreams of many programmers a reality.
    Make it happen!!!!

  • Allow HTML Editing without CSS

    I would like to create some HTML pages without CSS.  My Dreamweaver CS5 forces me to setup CSS styles for everything.  There are cases when I do not want to do this:
    emails with HTML
    email  ezines
    basic FBML coding
    I have had many versions of Dreamweaver and been able to do this before.  I have been using CSS for past two years, but have the need here and there to do old fashioned HTML.  How can I change preferences in Dreamweaver to allow this in design view.
    Thanks for your help.
    Joy & Gratitude,
    Teresa

    HTML styles are deprecated now. This isn't a Dreamweaver thing, it's a web standards thing. If you want to use HTML to style your code, you'll have to do it manually.  A much better option is  inline CSS (inside the body tag).
    Example of inline CSS:
    <p style="color:#FF0000; font-weight:bold">This text is red and bold.<p>
    <p style="color:#000000; font-weight:normal">This text is black and normal.<p>

  • Create a Multiple-Line JButton Without Using HTML format

    I used html format for multiple-line JButton and it took a long time to load that button up (about 5 seconds more). Does anyone know how to create a multiple-line JButton without using html?
    Any suggestion or sample code will be appreciated.
    javamesser

    Hello,
    You could try using the following:
    -give your button some layout (e.g.: BoxLayout.Y_AXIS, or BorderLayout).
    -create the wrapped text in separate JLabels (one line in each label)
    -add your labels to the button
    Advantage:
    this solution does not affect the laf classes
    Disadvantage:
    focus rectangle is not calculated accurately

  • How to make muse export to html and image/asset files only without css and jquery?

    Hi there adobe community,
    I am here today to see if there is a way of only exporting a muse site as html with the css integrated in like dreamweaver does. Therer probably is no way to do this. However, i dont want external .css files and .js files i want them all in the html file, is there a way to do this. The reason i want to know is because my client wants no external files and only wants an image and html documents. I told him that it might not be possible and i want to know if it is. If you could help me that would be great.
    Thankyou For Your Time.

    Hi Pink,
    When Muse exports as HTML , It exports everything separately like the HTML files , .Css files in a different folder and the .js files in a different folder. There is no way in Muse that you can export in any other way.
    This is because a lot of the Css properties are used all across the site and not only on a particular page and so these properties are shared.
    Moreover this is a much more efficient way of designing a website rather than keeping everything in  a single file.

    Rohit Nair

  • The standard font on pages like craigslist (or any pages without CSS) are using an unreable font how do I fix this?

    For some reason any webpage that does not have a font style listed in the HTML or CSS Firefox pulls from my font book a font that is not readable with lots of text instead of using the standard fonts set in my preferences, (Serif= Times, Sans-Serif = Helvetica, Monospace = Courier).
    I have tried deleting Firefox and reinstalling but I am still having the same problem. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

    You can do a check for corrupted fonts and other font issues:
    *http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/multipleappsquit.html - Font Book 2.0 Help: Checking for damaged fonts
    *http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/garbled_fonts_troubleshooting_guide.html
    You can do a font test to see if you can identify the corrupted font.

  • BIP report using HTML view in dashboard printing without scrollbars, parts

    Have created BI Publisher report in the MS Word using Landscape page settings.The report is printing without scrollbars in the OBIEE Dashboard using HTML view.
    Could not see the whole page output...have tried using resolution property settings in the dashboard configuration...havent found any solution.
    Have tried to use MHTML but the logos are missing.
    Any quick solution for the above will be very helpful.
    Thanks
    Baddam

    Hi Venkat,
    Thanks for your quick respond.
    1.) Auto Run is enabled. And the report runs automatically as well. But then it ignores the dashboard prompt (as a regular report would do as well). But when I choose some values in the prompt and then press go. Then it says I have to press on view as well.
    2.) no that is not the case. My report is so big that it always need a scroll bar ;) also adjusting the size settings in the dashboard doesn't help. The only occurs when viewing in HTML, when previewing in excel or RTF it all just work fine.
    3.) true, but ow well this is the least importetant one ;) so if this doesn't work, than it doesn't work ;)
    4.) Ok, I will have a look on that.
    5.) I did enabled HTML and EXCEL outputs in my BIP report. But when the first point is working, then I don't want to see the control bar anymore and I want to have the output on the dashboard in HTML and then I want to build a button, or a link or something that exports the request to excel. Is that possible?

  • How to use a custom css with a ditamap?

    I'm still trying to get to grips with some DITA Frame basics and another piece of info that I would like to have is how to get the ditamap to use a custom css when it is output to xhtml with the DITA OT. Is there any simple non-super-techie way to do this without having to learn how to hack the ANT programs?
    Under the StructureTools menu, there is an Import CSS styles item, but I can't find instructions on how to use it accessible to my level.
    Also, is there a way to apply a company stylesheet to the Responsive html output generated with the new Publish tool? I realize the two provided templates can be modified element by element, but it does mean a lot of modification, and it would be cool if we could just invoke the stylesheets that already govern our web site so that the output could match.
    Thanks to anyone who can help,
    Elisa Roselli
    Cambridge Imaging Systems

    Hi Elisa...
    The short answer is .. no.
    When you publish through the OT, you're just passing control off to an Ant target and the DITA-OT processing. You'd need to modify the files in the OT to use a modified CSS. Note that the "easy" way to do this is to just edit the CSS file directly in the OT file structure. The "proper" way to do it is to develop an OT plugin and set up a new Ant target that uses your styling instead of the default. You'd change the Ant target that FM uses so it calls yours (don't recall where this is but it can be done).
    One thing that may be useful to know is that when you set the value of the @outputclass attribute on an element in DITA, the corresponding tag in the generated HTML is assigned a @class attribute with that same value. This lets you set "styling" in DITA that is applied to the output. You still need to get your custom class definitions ino the CSS.
    The Import CSS item on the StructureTools menu has nothing to do with OT publishing (or anything that you'd likely be using).
    I'm not aware of a way to apply a stylesheet to the Publish tool .. I thnk you have to go through the process of mapping styles manually. I could be wrong, and if so, hopefully someone else will jump in to help.
    Cheers,
    …scott

  • Using Textedit for css stylesheet

    I am building a website with HTML and CSS using the Textedit. It appears that I cannot edit a css stylesheet in Textedit after the initial save. Is this true and how do I get around it? Making a new CSS stylesheet with every change is just not an option. Please help

    I can edit css files with TextEdit with no problems whatsoever. First off, you need to make sure your css files are plain text files. Also you need to make sure you have write permissions to the file in question. TextEdit has no "set criteria for a .css file"--I don't even know what that would mean. A css file is just a txt file with the .css extension instead of the .txt extension. There are dedicated css file programs: I use CSSEdit, and my css files are set to open in that as the default editor (it has lots of nice features for creating css files), but TextEdit opens the files without difficulty and edits them. As was already mentioned TextWrangler is another nice program for editing css files. It is free, you might try it, it will display the css files with various things in color, which can be useful.
    I'm also not sure what this statement means: "It just won't apply changes when I make it a .css file." Just what is that "it" you refer to? Was the file an rtf document originally? And where are the css files you are attempting to edit? Do you have write permissions to the files and the folder they are in? You can check using GetInfo.

  • Background image to fit in DW WYSIWYG editor using HTML

    I am trying to create an HTML background that will serve as the landing page on my website. I need help with formatting the image to fit the entire screen so that it does not scroll down or repeat. Also. Once this is done. I would like to upload it onto my website background page. I am using the WYSIWYG editor because for now. I can somewhat make sense of it. However am stuck trying to get the image to fit perfectly. I am not using CSS and don't wish to either. I understand HTML a little better. Please, help. I've been stuck for days at this rate.

    Unfortunately, you can't design modern websites without a good grasp of both HTML and CSS code.  Don't limit yourself with Design View only.  Use Split View so you can see the code DW is creating.

    To answer your question about BG image.  Use CSS background-size property with vendor prefixes.  This can't be done with HTML.
    CSS Code:
    body {
          background: url(your-BG-image-here.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;
          /**for Safari,Chrome**/
           -webkit-background-size: cover;
         /**for Firefox**/
           -moz-background-size: cover;
          /**for Opera**/
           -o-background-size: cover;
          /**for all other browsers**/
          background-size: cover;

  • How do I check if TPM is enabled without CSS installed?

    After searching for TPM (the Security Chip?) on several different laptop forums, I'm still left with a few questions for my two identical T61p ThinkPads, both with WinXP SP3 as described below in my signature line ..... Note: Lenovo's CSS and R&R have been uninstalled by me.  Each unit has two 7k320 Hitachi BDE drives (using ultrabay adapters for the 2nd drive in each) and both machines have the HDD PWs enabled.  I have to actually enter two separate HDD PWs each time I power up either machine (even if the PWs are the same on each HDD).  In addition to the four 7k320 BDE HDDs across both machines, I keep four more Acronis-cloned backup 7k320 BDE drives at any given time stored safely in another building.
    Question 1:
    Since I can not find the Amtel TPM listed in Device Manager on either machine and I do not have CSS installed, may I assume my TPMs are disabled?  Lending further evidence to that assumption is that I can swap any of my eight PW protected HDDs between the two machines (after a power-down) and they accept the different HDDs at power-up just fine after entering the correct HDD PWs. I even use two different passwords across the eight HDDs … that is, a different unique HDD PW for each machine.
    Question 2:
    If my TPMs are in fact disabled, then my BDE drives may not be encrypting data. I think I read somewhere that BDE/FDE drives use the TPM and the HDD PW to generate the encryption key or keys. If they were encrypting the data on the disks, then I should not be able to swap them between different machines (i.e different TPMs) like I can at present.  Does that sound correct?
    Question 3:
    If my assumption that enabling TPM will limit the use of my HDDs to only one unique machine, then may I presume that the FDE/BDE hardware-based encryption feature of my HDDs is not best suited for my situation of needing to be able to swap HDDs between two different machines on a moment's notice .... and that software based encryption (like I use on my external HDDs) would be more suitable?
    Question 4:
    Is it true that HDDs (non-FDE/BDE and FDE/BDE) that are used on a TPM "enabled" laptop (with a HDD PW also enabled) can lead to major data transfer headaches if your laptop TPM ever fails and/or the motherboard is replaced (i.e. your PW protected Hard Drives may not be useable on the repaired machine, including your back-up data from cloned PW protected backup HDDs)?
    I thought I read somewhere that a PW protected HDD on a ThinkPad (with TPM enabled) will only work on that one ThinkPad.
    If my understanding of how TPM works with HDD PWs (both regular and BDE/FDE drives), then what's the advantage of using TPM and CSS for a unit that needs to regularly swap-in different HDDs from another machine?
    Rather, is the TPM feature most suitable for traveling situations where potential theft of the laptop and its data is the major risk (rather than something like a failed motherboard that has to be replaced along with its TPM chip)?
    Sorry for the long winded post …… Thanks
    Two (I used to have Five) - T61p 15.4" WS T9300 2.5Ghz units, August 08/08 Builds with FX570M Nvidia Graphics; ... One W520 i7-2860QM w/2000M Nvidia Graphics (most recent acquisition and stupidly fast); .... One - T42 4:3 15" Flexview 1.8GHz with ATI Graphics (still perfect for traveling); ... Two - T500 15.4" units both with ATI HD3650 Graphics.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Shortwinded answers:
    The TPM state is verified in the BIOS and without Devmgmt.msc or CSS Security, you can also flush the contents from the menu and reset  it back to factory defautls the way a NAND flash based switch or firewall can be reset for asset reclamation  and theoriteically w/o remnant data for the new caretakers.
    Verify your encryption state and take one pof those slaves in a caddy and mount it inside a system with a different bootable partiotn and see if you can read data. You'll have to disarm the drives password or insert into anohter thi8inkpad then enter suspend mode and be ready to use password only since fingervantage security is sporadic from logging on slave disks resuming from power mode.
    The TPM's are flexibible and IBM's enterprise upgrade to server security are designed to implement and montior central security so  TPM certs can be exported  for migration and recovery, you won't need RnR ( RnR is a hard drive parasite anyway and CSS is great for SSO when logging on toAmazon.com.
    Those drive passwords have noting to do with TPM's and that security was arounnd long before a TPM was ever envirosioned. You've likey set the drives user and supervisor password and definion of spuerveror the way Unix deinfes it.  YOu can single sign on those disk passwords by enabling fingerpritns and reboot,  confrim your radeio and oxygen.and swipe the finger, again for confirm and you've just molded thew new spy into old dossier.  Try plugging in one of those drives ino a a different system and you'll just see a block, maybe drive letter and prompted to iniatiaize a disk that is really just well guarded.
    You have Acronis and well worth the 37MB overhead of secure zone and if you don't have Partition Magic or hate GPart, you can use Acronis to create a large "secure zone" then use diskmanager to format it and reclaim is since
    Don't just sit there, take a second and use the Kudo's button to compliment the people who help you.

  • HTML and CSS Best Practices for Eloqua?

    Hello Topliners Community,
    My name is Ben and I am a Web Designer. I am currently looking for any guidance on HTML and CSS best practices when working with Eloqua. I am interested in the best practices for e-mail and landing pages.
    Thank you,

    Personally I like to upload my custom created html/css into Eloqua instead of using the WYSIWYG.
    But if you must then right clicking on text boxes and click edit source is the way to go.
    There was a good discussion on editing your forms with CSS:

    I find it a bit more comfortable though to use teh W3 Validator and I always access that with the Firefox Browser and the Web Developer plug-in.  Another good plug in for FF is Firebug.
