Using MBP Speakers with output

is there any way (like when im running xp) that i can have my speakers on as well as my external speakers?

To use an external display with your MBP in clamshell mode, you must have the AC adapter connected, as this Apple article describes:

    You can't downgrade the iOS.
Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Can I use external speakers with the iPad when using Facetime?

Can I use external speakers with the iPad when using Facetime?  How do I do that?

They have to be either plugged in via headphone jack or the dock port at the bottom. If you can. I've used it on apple tv, but that's it. I don't know if the others work, but I don't see why not. Try plugging in speakers in the headphone jack. You will get an answer :)

  • Is it possible to use two speakers with one Apple Tv ?

    Hello everyone,
I bought an Apple Tv and I have one apple express with a Bose speaker and a Bose Link Air speaker.
I would like to see a movie using the two speakers but every time that I try to select two speakers in the airplay Apple Tv menu, it automatically deselect the other speaker.
Is it possible to use two speakers in the same time ? ( I know it's possible with Itunes)
    Thank,
Ps: I have the last Apple TV

No, that is not possible with Apple TV. You can set one 'output' via Apple TV, and 'stream' to multiple speakers from iTunes or via the remote app.

  • Using external speakers with iPad

Hey, I have the cool imac ball speakers, these:
    http://www.vectronicsappleworld.com/collection/articlepics/g4imac/snap45.jpg
But the plug on the speakers is a little to small. Is there an adapter that I can get that will allow me to use these speakers?
    thanks,
    Jeff

Be careful - I think I owned a set of those Apple speakers at one time, and IIRC they weren't just normal speakers, hence the special plug. You could conceivably damage the iPad or whatever else you plug them into, if I'm remembering this right.
Edit: Do a Google or whatever search for "Apple Pro Speakers" and you'll find various articles on compatibility, hacking them for a PC, etc.

  • Can I use bluetooth speakers with my IMac

I want some wireless speakers to use outdoors.  If I get bluetooth speakers and pair them with my iMac (MountainLion) will I be able to listen to iTunes output.

You should be able to listen to your music in iTunes through the Bluetooth speakers. If, after buying the speakers, you can't select them in iTunes, just go to System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the Bluetooth speakers

  • Using remote speakers with non-iTunes sound

The Apple Remote app is great in that I can play and control any iTunes music and play it on a remote speaker through my mac. However, is there a way to play sound generated by an iPhone application that is NOT part of iTunes library remotely on an airport express speaker, for example ? This will be handy to play output from programs such as guitar apps and my favorite "Easy Relax" sounds etc.

I was just talking to a friend who was doing pretty much what you were asking about ... I haven't tested it myself but from what he said it sounds like what you were asking!
Basically he has an iTrip connected to his iPhone which he uses to play his music wirelessly through the radio in his car but he has tried it with both TapTap Revenge and TouchGrind so far and both apps seem to send audio through the iTrip the stereo as well!
I believe this is the iTrip he has ... http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itripdock but they have many others to choose from ... http://www.griffintechnology.com/category/fmtransmitters ... (I assume all will work the same)
It's not exactly what you were hoping for (it doesn't go through the AirPort Express) but if you have a radio connected to your speakers it should do want you were wanting, hope this helps!

  • Using iGlobe speakers with newer iMac

I am so happy with may new iMac, but I thind maybe the speakers that came with my old iGlobe 700 Mhz were better than the internal ones in the nex one. However they have some strange plug that doesn't fit with the contact for earphones. Does anybody know if there is some connector out there that I can use?

    Hello,
The reason it has a proprietary connector is that it was a very high powered port and it a user inadvertently connected another set of standard speakers they would almost certainly be damaged.
I've seen Pro Speakers on ebay where someone has cut off the proprietary connector and attached a standard 3.5mm jack. This works but the speakers are then very very quiet. The only real solution is either a new pair of speakers or there was an adaptor made by Griffin called the iFire:
    http://www.welovemacs.com/ifire.html
However it's no longer made and it's second-hand value is pretty high.
I too was fairly disappointed with the sound of the new Aluminium iMac compared to the iMac G4 with Pro Speakers although actually I've been living with it for eight months now. I did look at the LaCie Firewire speakers because they don't need a separate power supply but haven't been sure enough to spend my money yet!

  • Using Bose speakers with your iPhone

Hi, I have just purchased my iPhone and they guy in the shop said that my speakers woudlnt work, however I noticed that if i switch my phone to flight mode then sit them on the dock, it charges and i can play music. Obvioulsy I know I wont be able to recieve call, texts or emails. Has anyone else used accessories like this?? Does it damage your iPhone??

    troyandy9,
As listed in the [About iPhone and iPod Accessories|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1665] article:
The iPhone uses the same dock connector as the iPod, so properly designed accessories can be used with both the iPhone and the iPod. While there are thousands of accessories that have been designed specifically for iPod, not all of these are fully compatible with iPhone yet. This is because cell phones can cause audio interference with some accessories that have the "Made for iPod" label.
It is possible, however, to use many existing iPod accessories that have the "Made for iPod" label. When you connect iPhone to one of these accessories, the iPhone will alert you that the accessory was not made to work with the iPhone. With the alert, you are presented with an option to go into Airplane Mode, which will turn off the communication ability of the iPhone while it is connected to that accessory.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • Is it possible to use internal speakers with the headphones connected?

as the connection of headphones is on the back of the iMac, it would be very useful to be able to switch between the internal speakers and the headphones, without ever having to unplug the headphones from your Mac Is this possible?

Although it still means unplugging I bought one of these though I do use headphones very infrequently:
    http://www.johnlewis.com/belkin-speaker-and-headphone-splitter/p230405301
but at least I don't have to fiddle around the back of the mac and risk,in time, damaging the socket on the mac.
If you decide to purchase one, be careful where you buy from as there are Belkin imitations around ie eBay and indeed Amazon where the quality is suspect particularly if it only costs a couple of £s'. Bought mine from a renowned retailer with genuine Belkin blister pack.

  • Using multiple speakers with AirPlay on iPad

On my Mac I can play music from iTunes on my computer, Apple TV and on my Airport Express. But on the iPad I can only pick one, is there anyway i can choose multiple speakers on the iPad?

    HOUSE PARTY SUCCESS!!!
I have an ATV3 in the living room, one in the bedroom, and one in the garage (for streaming music out there too...).  To get the whole compound in sync and have the same music everywhere AND control it from my iPhone, it was / is this easy:
In iTunes, select multiple airplay devices so everywhere you want the music playing is selected.  Use the Apple Remote app on your iPhone / iPad and control your iTunes, NOT your ATV.  Bada-bing!  Full house party music to all the devices and controlled by the phone in your pocket!!!
They should still let you do this from any iOS device directly though...
    Enjoy!

  • Using MBP 15" with Griffin Elevator, Display is "wiggling"

    Hi Apple Support Communitiy,
i just bought the Griffin Elevator for my MacBook Pro 15" late 2012 to work more ergonomically.
At the first view I liked the Elevator very much but trying it out I now see that the Notebook Display is "wiggling" while I'm e.g. typing at my wireless Keyboard on the same table on which the Elevator stands. The "wiggling" is not really disturbing except of FaceTime but my question is: Can the wiggling come along with Disadvantages for my hardware, for example that the hinges begin to slack or that my harddrive suffers from wiggling or is it just normal and all right for my MacBook?
Thank you in advance for your help,
    regards
    Niklas

YES. In contrast to the sedate and safe life of a desktop, a portable is much more fraught to damage. Just note that AppleCare needs to be purchased and activated while the base warranty is in effect. Meaning you buy the box when you have about a month left and hence don't have to plonk the cash up front.
Since you will inevitably have the joy of the Lion (or even the Mountain Lion if you don't purchase before the summer), I can now tell you that 64-bit fat cat does not run well in 4GB. At least not for normal use, much less for power use. So RAM will probably be the first order of the day, upgrade-wise. I just put in a Corsair 8GB upgrade kit that cost $45. Had I ordered mine with 8GB from Apple, that would have set me back $200. OR, I could have spent the $200 on a Corsair 16GB upgrade kit. Yeah, I know, Apple says 8GB is the max, but for the current model ("Late 2011"), the 8GB sticks work just fine, though they're still pricy. I'll stick with 8 for now (2x4GB).
Another thing to note is that the only way to get the antiglare finish is with the widescreen option. And that will add to the cost, unfortunately.

  • Using airplay speakers with apple tv

    Hello,
I have been using airplay from my iphone to my apple tv for years now and it works great.  I wanted to expand my speaker network so I purchase a bose airplay speaker and want to stream that music to my apple tv (which is hooked up to my stereo) and also stream to the speaker at the same time.  It looks like I should be able to do this from my apple tv using the mulit speaker option? So I have the speaker set up on my network and can stream to my iphone to it fine using airplay.  I then change and stream to my apple tv (can only do one airplay source from iphone) In the airplay menu on the apple tv I see the bose speaker.  When I select it, it puts a check mark by the speaker but I have no sound from the bose speaker?  I have tired mutilple times but still cannot get it to work?  Can anyone confirm that you can go from iphone to apple tv to addtional speakers and have it work?  Or must I use itunes on the computer to stream to apple tv then it will support the mutilple speakers?

    No, it really doesn't.
This is not a current feature of the ATV.

  • How can i use both speakers with 2 displays

i am using 2 27" displays with my powermac but the sound only comes out of one.  does anyone know how i can have the sound come from both display?
also, does anyone know how i can control which camera is being accessed by iphoto.
    thanks.

For the audio you most likely need to use Audio MIDI Setup (in your Utilities folder) and create an "Aggregate Device".  This doc might help.
I don't have an answer for the camera question.
