Using ModificationTimeFormat in FTP adapter fails

Hi all,
I'm trying to use the minimum age for files read via FTP adapter. Logging into the FTP server and doing a 'ls -l' yields
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
-rwxrwxrwx 1 owner group 3799676 Jun 26 15:24 big.xml
226 Transfer complete.
ftp: 136 bytes received in 0.02Seconds 8.50Kbytes/sec.
from which I deduct the format string "46,57,MMM dd HH:mm".
Now this fails with the following message in log.xml:
<MSG_TEXT>JCA: ORABPEL-11430
Error in listing files in the remote directory.
Unable to list file in remote directory.
Any ideas on how I can find more details on the cause ?

Hi Diego,
Enable FINEST logging on the esb.server.service.impl.inadapter logger.
This will provide you with the date/time string the adapter is using the run your format string against.
You will see an entry in there along the lines of
JCA: MDTM command returned : 213 20080715005008
Most likely your format string should be "4,18,yyyyMMddHHmmSS"
Validate that it is infact correct, and modify accodingly.
Cheers,
Goran

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    As per client's requirement, we shouldn't be using java service for this functionality.
    And as you said, the oracle adapters are not taking anywhere, but guess have no other choice..

  • How to use Wallets for FTP Adapter

    Hi,
    Can someone point to a document that shows how we can make use of wallets for FTP Adapter.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    When you configure the Connection Factory for FTP Adapter in Admin Console, provide the following values for the attributes like the hostname, username, password, port and the path of remote location as where
    you want to write the file in remote Server i.e., ftpAbsolutePathBegin. Please fill this
    attribute with the path like /soa/ftp/file (example path). If you are writing to a remote FTP server you need to create a Connection factory for that as above.
    Please try this and let me know...
    Thanks,

    In same context, what I observed is that the FTP adapter throws above error if a file is send again for translation...ie; when i try to use the same file for testing putingit in FTO dir , FTP adapter hangs throwing above error.
    Even after few runs of other files.
    Is it something related to the security feature of the product which prohibits sending the contents of message if the same contents are send previously?
    Actullay I had never faced such issue before & use to do the testing with same file itself.
    oai_agent_error has following entry in internalid column:
    MetadataManager_RepositoryConnectionErrorWithoutOID
    When I kill the adapter, the same msg is picked up by the subcribing adadpeter(dbadapter) & puts the data into the table.
    Tough I m fixing the above issue as below:
    1- kill the FTP adapter
    2- remove its entries in componentinfo table.
    3-deleting all rows in oai_hub_queue.
    4- stop other adapters.
    5- Stopping & restarting the repository again.
    Still not sure whether error throwing by adapter is expected functionality in iStudio, or something is missing in the setting done in my setup?
    Regards.

  • To Get Dynamic filenames while using sync get FTP Adapter?

    Instead of looping and getting filenames after file listing...
    i am thinking to use flow N.instead of while loop after filelisting..

    Hi,
    Like pinted by Michal, use Adapter Specific Identifers.
    In your mapping set the file name using the code in this link and then in your Receivr File Adapter select the Adapter Specific Identifiers --> FileName .

  • Easy way of procesing files using sender File/FTP adapter

    Hi experts,
    In order to process files with a sender file adapter I am interested in avoiding processing non completed files. I mean files that are still being sent. My provider send an .XML file and when the sending is completed a .CTL file with the same name (and diferent extension).
    So, my question is, wich  of the nexts is the best?
    -Implement an adapter module who recognizes the .ctl and then processes the XML file. -> Is there any standar module doing already that?
    -Use adapter standart parametrization: Run operating System Command Before/After Message Processing, some advanced parameter?
    -Doing nothing, PI only processes completed files (possible??), or if it processes a non completed you can retry.
    -Other
    Points for the best/easiest solution.
    Regards
    Gonzalo

    Hi Gonzalao,
    >>Implement an adapter module who recognizes the .ctl and then processes the XML file. -> Is there any standar module doing already that?
    No there is no such standard module available in PI
    >>Use adapter standart parametrization: Run operating System Command Before/After Message Processing, some advanced parameter?
    Again this is not possible as only after reading a file it will execute OS commands
    >>Doing nothing, PI only processes completed files (possible??), or if it processes a non completed you can retry.
    No you can' take this risk (unless there is a OS lock on the file which is being written)
    >>Other
    so i will go for other solution like:
    A batch program which will check whether a ctl file exists and if it is found then it will ove the .xml file to one folder (where pi is polling) and deletes the read ctl file.
    This batch code will be made to run for say every 5 sec or depending on the frequency of the interface

  • Failure to connect to FTP server using FTP Adapter?

    Attempting to setup a SOA 11g composite app to demo the use of a FTP Adapter. Composite used a File Adapter (Read, opaque schema) wired to a mediator which was wired to a FTPAdapter (ASCII-Put, opaque schema). The routing rule in the mediator maps the File-Read opaque schema to the FTP ASCII-Put opaque schema.
    In the document "+User's Guide for Technology Adapters 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)+" I followed the steps in 4.2.21 Securing Enterprise Information System Credentials to set username/password (ftpuser/oracle) for the eis/Ftp/FtpAdapter connection. This is the default JNDI name for the FTP Adapter.
    For the FTP server installed Filezilla server. Configured the home directory to appropriate folder.
    Installed Filezilla client to test the server using ftpuser/oracle - as the created user on the server. No problem here – can see the appropriate folders and ftp files to/from the folders.
    Used a similar composite using a File Adapter-Write (opaque schema) instead of the FTPAdapter (ASCII-Put - opaque schema). This composite works with no issues. FYI – using JDev 11.1.1.1, SOA Suite 11g.
    Was not using VPN.
    When placed the required file in its directory (for the File-Read) it was read but the ASCII-Put file from Filezilla server did not appear.
    Based on error/fault messages seems to be a login issue. However, have no idea as to where the issue as all usernames/passwords are correct. But then - isn't that always the case?
    After having worked on this for a couple of days - need some help - please.
    The following error messages appeared:

    I've an ftp adapter configured to read from windows server(SOA server running on IBM AIX, filezila on Windows server). I've provided the hostname,username,password, accountname,ftpAbsolutePathBegin as /, port as 21.
    I've set listParserKey to WIN.
    Still FTPAdapter is unable to read from Windows server.
    I'm able to get, delete etc from ftp commands through putty.Port 21 is open.
    Any clue?

  • Process TIFF file from FTP server using File/FTP adapter

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to process a scanned document TIFF file from a directory on an FTP server using the File/FTP adapter and process through XI into a Web Service via a receiver SOAP adapter.
    My question is can the file/FTP adapter be used to process the TIFF file into XI from an FTP server ? Also, what settings need to be made on the file adapter to allow this file to be processed into XI ?
    Thanks in advance
    Colin

    hi colin,
    TIFF is type of image file, it can be converted to binary using java mapping

  • FTP Adapter polling lowercase or uppercase files using single adapter

    Hello All,
    I was wondering if we can use a single FTP Adapter to poll Lowercase or Uppercase files. For example either abc*.txt or ABC*.txt.
    Does the FTP adapter by default support this option, because its not working in my Case and if its supported does it depend on the FTP server settings/security.
    Help is much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kris

    How does it decide which files to pickup ? It will pick up files with modification dates more recent than the last processed file.
    sometimes it picks up all old files from FTP directoryIf it is picking up the same files, probably it is not being able to calculate the modification dates.
    That can be a configuration problem, take a look at this:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABECEGD
    Note: We are not deleting already read files from the folderProbably, not a good thing to do. May you can archive them instead.

  • TimestampOffset in FTP Adapter activation agent properties

    Hi all,
    I am having an issue using the "timestampOffset" FTP Adapter activation agent property on an SOA Suite 10.1.3.4/MLR#9 (Linux) system.
    I have a BPEL process that is being launched via the FTP Adapter when a particular file appears on a remote SFTP server. I am polling for this file every 5 mins, and don't want to retrieve it unless it is at least 15 minutes old. The SFTP server from which I am retrieving this file is configured with a different timezone than the SOA Suite server on which the BPEL process is running; the SOA Suite server has a timezone of MST (GMT-7) and the SFTP server has a timezone of GMT. Here is the relevant section from the WSDL for this PartnerLink:
    <jca:operation
    FileType="binary"
    LogicalDirectory="TriggerDirectory"
    ActivationSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.inbound.FTPActivationSpec"
    DeleteFile="true"
    IncludeFiles="external_ids_trigger\.txt"
    PollingFrequency="300"
    MinimumAge="900"
    ModificationTimeFormatOld="43,54,MMM dd yyyy"
    FileModificationTime="DirListing"
    ModificationTimeFormat="43,54,MMM dd HH:mm"
    OpaqueSchema="true" >
    </jca:operation>
    I attempted to compensate for this by adding the "timestampOffset" property to the activation agent in bpel.xml (also included in the jdev_files.zip attachment); this is detailed in the document "Oracle Application Server Adapters for Files, FTP, Databases, and Enterprise Messaging User’s Guide 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) B28994-01". Here is the activationAgents section from the bpel.xml file:
    <activationAgents>
    <activationAgent className="oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent" partnerLink="PollForTriggerFile">
    <property name="TriggerDirectory" type="LogicalDirectory">/uazsa/uazsaprd/integration/output</property>
    <property name="portType">Get_ptt</property>
    <property name="timestampOffset">25200000</property>
    </activationAgent>
    </activationAgents>
    When deploying this BPEL project to the server, it shows the "timestampOffset" property for the JCA adapter in the log, as follows:
    <2010-01-17 11:23:39,619> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <AdapterFramework::Inbound> JCAActivationAgent::initiateInboundJcaEndpoint - Creating and initializing inbound JCA endpoint for:
    process='bpel://localhost/default/External_System_ID_Sync~1.0/'
    domain='default'
    WSDL location='PollForTriggerFile.wsdl'
    portType='Get_ptt'
    operation='Get'
    activation properties={TriggerDirectory=/uazsa/uazsaprd/integration/output, timestampOffset=25200000, portType=Get_ptt}
    However, this setting appears to have no effect, as when the adapter polls for the file, it finds it, but does not process it. I have turned up logging on default.collaxa.cube.activation to DEBUG, and I see the following when it polls for the file:
    <2010-01-17 12:18:40,342> <DEBUG> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Opening sftp channel

    What needs to be done to have the timestampOffset property in bpel.xml honored by the activation agent? Any help is greatly appreciated! I have opened up an SR with Oracle on this as well, but sometimes the forums prove to be a quicker path to problem resolution. :)
    Thanks,

    Thanks for the reply, Anirudh.
    Can you elaborate? The last part of section A.3.3. in the URL you posted is exactly what I did...I specified the "timestampOffset" property to the activation agent properties in bpel.xml. I specified the offset as the time difference (in milliseconds): 7 hrs = 7*60*60*1000 = 25200000. The value they provide in that example is puzzling: 2592000000 would be an offset of 720 hours! Maybe I'm misunderstanding something about this property?
    Thanks,
