  • Report using Parameter Field

    Hi,
I have designed one report using Parameter Field which is Cost Code (string).
When I run my report, I ask to enter cost code. When I enter cost code 30, I get report for all transaction of cost code 30 and 300.
How could I avoid this problem.
    Thanks
    Mithani

    Try with this
    {Project_cost.EXPENSES_Code} IN {?Cost Code}
    and also
Check the query formed after giving the input parameter. Goto Database --> Show Sql Query.

There are a number of ways to create a fieldcat.
For the purpose of this example i will build the fieldcatalog manualy
by populating the internal table fields individually and then
appending the rows. This method can be the most time consuming but can
also allow you  more control of the final product.
Beware though, you need to ensure that all fields required are
populated. When using some of functionality available via ALV, such as
total. You may need to provide more information than if you were
    simply displaying the result
I.e. Field type may be required in-order for
                       the 'TOTAL' function to work.

  • [Forum FAQ] How to use parameter to control the Expand/Collapse drill-down options in SSRS report?

In SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), drill-down is an action we can apply to any report item to hide and show other report items. They all are ways that we can organize and display data to help our users understand our report better. In this article,
we are talking about how to use parameter to control the Expand/Collapse drill-down options in SSRS report.
Consider that the report has a dataset (dsSales) with following fields: SalesTerritoryGroup, SalesTerritoryCountry, CalendarYear, SalesAmount.
    1. The report has the following group settings:
    Parent Group: SalesTerritoryGroup
     Child Group: SalesTerritoryCountry
      Child Group: CalendarYear
       Details: SalesAmount
    2. Add three parameters in the report:
    GroupExpand:
    Available Values: “Specify values”
    Label: Yes           Value: Yes
    Label: No            Value: No
    Default Values: “Specify values”
    Value: Yes
    CountryExpand:
    Available Values: “Specify values”
    Label: Yes           Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No",Nothing,"Yes")
    Label: No            Value: No
    Default Values: “Specify values”
    Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No","No","Yes")
    YearExpand:
    Available Values: “Specify values”
    Label: Yes
    Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No" or Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="No",Nothing,"Yes")
    Label: No            Value: No
    Default Values: “Specify values”
    Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No" or Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="No","No","Yes")
    3. Right click SalesTerritoryCountry icon in the Row Groups dialog box, select Group Properties.
    4. Click Visibility in the left pane. Select “Show or hide based on an expression” and type with following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="Yes", False, True)
Select “Display can be toggled by this report item” option, and select “SalesTerritoryGroup” in the drop down list.
    5. Use the same method setting CalendarYear, (Details) drill-down with following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="Yes", False, True)
    =IIF(Parameters!YearExpand.Value="Yes", False, True)
    6. Click SalesTerritoryGroup text box in the tablix. Select InitialToggleState property in the Properties dialog box, and type following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="Yes", True, False)
    7. Use the same method setting SalesTerritoryCountry, CalendarYear text box with following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="Yes", True, False)
    =IIF(Parameters!YearExpand.Value="Yes", True, False)
After that, when we preview the report, we can use these three parameters to expand/collapse drill-down.
    Note:
In our test, we may meet following issue. We can check the expression of InitialToggleState property to troubleshooting the issue.

  • Is it possible to use parameter in a user query with subquery ?

    Hi ,
i need to use parameter ( [%0] ) in user query using a subquery , but i have errors message when i execute the query
    example :
    SELECT T0.[DocNum] as docnum, T0.[DocTotal] as cde , 0 as fact FROM ORDR T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  =N'[%0]'
    union all
    SELECT T0.[DocNum], 0 as cde,T0.[DocTotal] as fact FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  =N'[%0]'
    works fine
but ( exactly the same query in the subquery )
    Select t2.Docnum ,t2.cde , t2.fact from
    SELECT T0.[DocNum] as docnum, T0.[DocTotal] as cde , 0 as fact FROM ORDR T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  =N'[%0]'
    union all
    SELECT T0.[DocNum], 0 as cde,T0.[DocTotal] as fact FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  =N'[%0]'
    ) t2
    return an error message
the same query without parameter works fine too :
Select Docnum ,cde , fact from
    SELECT T0.[DocNum] as docnum, T0.[DocTotal] as cde , 0 as fact FROM ORDR T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  ='C1'
    union all
    SELECT T0.[DocNum], 0 as cde,T0.[DocTotal] as fact FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  ='C1'
    ) t2
Is it possible to use parameter in a subquery ?
    thanks

    Try this one:
    declare @cc nvarchar(20)
    set @cc=/*Select c.cardcode from OCRD c where c.cardcode=*/'[%0]'
Select Docnum ,cde , fact from
    SELECT T0.[DocNum] as docnum, T0.[DocTotal] as cde , 0 as fact FROM ORDR T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  =@cc
    union all
    SELECT T0.[DocNum], 0 as cde,T0.[DocTotal] as fact FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.[CardCode]  =@cc

  • Call ITS SAP R3 from CRM WebClient using parameter NOHEADEROKCODE=1

    Good day,
I need some help with an issue.
We want to hide the command field in the SAP GUI for HTML using parameter ~noHeaderOkCode.
But we want to hide it only when we access the R3 transactions from the CRM WebClient, not in the rest of uses of R3 ITS SAP GUI for HTML. The CRM WebClient launchs some transactions of SAP R3 inside its web, and we want users not to call another transactions there by using the command field.
I've been reading about alias and external alias, but not resolved our issue.
    I'll appreciate any help.
    Best regards,
    Martina

    Hi Martina,
one option might be to create a ZWEBGUI service for your CRM WebClient. i.e A copy of the WEBGUI service with the parameter  ~NOHEADEROKCODE1 set in its parameters section.
You could also then restrict  access to the NEW service to your CRM Users.
    See the WIKI:
[How to limit access to an ITS service to specific users? |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/1wCmB ]

I need to pass a value which is of type CURR to a screen field which is of type DEC using parameter id. As of release 6.10 only character-type field is expected to pass to screen fileds. I tried converting the CURR field to char type and pass the same to screen field, but didnt work as in the screen filed it expects some value with typr DEC.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rob,
while debugging the code i can see the values of pid in SAP memory, but when i run the program to display those values on the screen field with type DEC,it kicks me out of the system.I commented that part of code and exceuted the program and then it went fine so i am for sure that it goes wrong at this part of the code.

  • How to add byte[] array based Image to the SQL Server without using parameter

how to add byte[] array based Image to the SQL Server without using parameter.I have a column in table with the type image in sql and i want to add image array to the sql image column like below:
I want to add image (RESIM) to the procedur like shown above but sql accepts byte[] RESIMI like System.Drowing. I whant that  sql accepts byte [] array like sql  image type
    not using cmd.ParametersAdd() method
    here is Isle() method content

SQL Server binary constants use a hexadecimal format:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms179899.aspx
You'll have to build that string from a byte array yourself:
    byte[] bytes = ...
    StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder("0x", 2 + bytes.Length * 2);
    foreach (var b in bytes)
    builder.Append(b.ToString("X2"));
    string binhex = builder.ToString();
That said, what you're trying to do - not using parameters - is the wrong thing to do. Not only it is insecure due to the risk of SQL injection but in the case of binary data is also inefficient since these hex strings are larger than the original byte[]
    data.

  • Use Parameter to choose Group and Sort options

I've got a report that gets used for several different puposes, and needs to be grouped or sorted differently each time.  How can I use a parameter to let the user choose the group and sort options at runtime?
I'm using CR2008, and SAP B1 2005.  The various grouping options I want to offer include SKU, Vendor and Description, and sorting within those Groups by SKU or Description.
I'm a newbie with CR, so detailed instructions would be really helpful.

You can create a report using parameter field. Follow these steps
-- Create new parameter in the field explorer window
-- The parameter shouls be static and enter all the field names on which you want to create in the values option
-- Now create a formula like this
    if {?Parameter}="fieldname1" then
    else
    if {?Parameter}="fieldname2" then
    else
-- Now insert new group and select this formula
-- Now the group will change according to the parameter selected
Please note that if you have different data types of fields you must need to convert totext()
as If condition will allow only one data type output.
Also when you insert any group by default the data is sorted on grouped field. If you want to sort on another field then you need to insert a summary field on that and go to report>group sort expert>select the field-->All based on the summary inserted.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi,
    did you try
String _deptno = et it from somewhere
    Call call = new SQLCall("SELECT * FROM emp where deptno="+_deptno);
You can't use a bind parameter unless you use a prepared statement

  • Defining sort order using parameter fields

    Post Author: vandersee
    CA Forum: General
I've created a report, the contents of which is sorted depending on a parameter selected (method used is as described in the help topic entitled "Defining sort order using parameter fields".  Is it possible to vary the Sort Direction (ascending/descending) using parameters also, so that if I choose to sort by field A it will be ascending, but descending if I choose to sort by field B?

    Post Author: V361
    CA Forum: General
You can create a Parameter {?Sort Order}  make it a string, and add items A to Z and Z to A and a formula and sort the group using the formula.
Group Expert, select the group, select options, check use a formula as group sort order
    if {?Sort Order} = "A to Z" then crAscendingOrder else crDescendingOrder
And your group will sort based on what is selected in the parameter.

    Jone –
Greetings from National Instruments! I hope you are finding your use of the Developer Exchange discussion forum advantageous. We really believe that this is a great resource for programmers to gather and work with each other, sharing tips and working together to answer questions.
I am not 100% sure about which specific Visual Basic you are inquiring. However, the NI-VISA User Manual contains many specific Visual Basic examples that I think would greatly help you in these programming pursuits. I would suggest that you take a look at this link (http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/266526277DFF74F786256ADC0065C50C?OpenDocument&node=132100_US), specifically Appendix A. There you will find many examples, including specific declarations,
which I think is the point of your entry here.
I hope that this helps you out! Thanks again for your support of National Instruments and your use of the Developer Exchange!!

  • How to get sales order number before saving in VA01 by using parameter

    Hi,
Please let me know how to get sales order number in transaction VA01 before saving it by using parameter in SU3.
I tried to set parameter in SU3 "AUN", but it is not working as required, means sales order number is not appearing before saving.
can you please suggest how to do it?
    Thanks & Regards.
    Rahul Verulkar

    Hi,
In case of Support project, we get the high severity issues from users and needs to be closed withn 2 hours... so what we do we get the requirement from user and checking the same in production from our id, but we can not save the sales order as we are not authorized to do the same, so in such cases it is required to get the sales order number before saving... where we can guide the users.... but actuallly it is not getting saved in the table until and unless u save it manually. It works like a material master... when u create material master, the material number appears in advance in material number field "MATNR"
If it is possible can you please suggest step by step to work on parameter in SU3 for sales order number before saving.
    Thanks & regards,
    Rahul Verulkar

  • Any pitfalls in using parameter driven views ?

I suppose the exec dbms_application_info.set_client_info('xxxx') will remain active only for the session and will be cleaned up at the end of the session.
I am working on oracle 9i.

I'm not sure what the title-- using parameter driven views-- has to do with the DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO package...
The information that DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO sets is at a session level. Once the session ends, that data disappears.
If you are trying to build a parameter driven view, however, you're better off using application contexts.
