Using signals and Equations

Hi,
I have an equation like this: y'=Q-3y, when Q is a signal comming from Analog Input or simulated but not convencional, such as square pulses with dampings.
My question is which equation VI do I need to use in Labview that will use this signal "Q" as input parameter and perform the equation y'?
Thanks

Hi, y' is just a mathematic parameter from the equation. I just put a simply equeation to demostrate what I ment, but its usually more complex such as y'=Q-5y-6t-t'. Not always is the same equeation using n-parameters and their derivative. I just thought to use ODE equation or any other mathematic vi, but I didn't know how to give a signal as input parameter. However, the operator vis can be a simple solution.

  • Trying to use signal in and signal out but couldn't pass parameters

    Hi all,
I am trying to use Signal out from 1st iview and trying to get the same parameters to the second iview where this iview gets populated when i click a button in result of first iview.
I have created these two iviews in same model and it deployed without errors.
When i run the first iview and give the parameters and say submit i get the result and when i click a button a new iview opens(requirement) but its not taking the same parameters as i have given in first iview.
Could any one give me suggestions how to use them or where should i correct it.
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Hi,
please follow these steps you will be able to achieve the results:
1.> Go to the form of the first iview.Drag output port and create signal out with proper name.Click the link created in between the signal out and the form and give a proper name(event name). This name you have to mentioned in the button action property.Go to the form and click the button property. Then in action tab you can mentioned the action as custom action.
2.> Configure the signal out means select the fields which you want to transfer to the other iview.
3.> Then go to the other layer and drill down in that.
4.> create a form and drag input port of it and create a signal in and give the same name as you have mentioned in the signal out.
5.> configure the signal in. And give all the fields which you have mentioned in the signal out.(it is case sensitive, so better give the correct names)
6.> Double click the form and select all the fields which you want to be visible on the form.
7.> just save nad deploy the model and you can transfer data between the two iviews.
You can check with this link having same type of issue:

  • How to Use signal In and Signal Out with Respect to this Question

    Hi,
I have a requirement where i have to change the data of the employee.
For that i am first searching for the employee using a RFC from R/3.
After searching i call another RFC for udating the Data.
The Data is updated successfully in the R/3, but its not reflecting in the Iview.
Can I use the Portal Eventing Mechansim using Signal In and Signal Out.
If yes then please forward me the example or model file to me on
    dhruvpradipshah at gmail dot com
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dhruv Shah

    Dhruv,
You can update the status by passing the return message or the output of the BAPi / RFC in a table or a form in the iview.

will InDesign accept equations set in MS Word using MathCAD and/or Mathematica?

I didn't try those. BUT. Equations from the MS Equation Editor are not "accepted", you have to save them as eps or pdf or something. My best option so far is MathType, and a plugin mt.editor lets you edit inside ID

    Hi Professor66,
I have a couple of suggestions for you regarding this issue. Here are two links to users who have posted similar questions to yours and have found their answers in the responses to their posts:

I would suggest that you first follow the troubleshooting that the OP did in the second link, which is to test in a new user account to see if the behavior is consistent. If it is, you may need to address the issue at a software level by re-installing Safari. More information on this process can be found in the following article:

Your only option is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB (as the diagram indicates) and restore using iTunes.

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Check control signal and write in 1s, ignore control signal for the following 2s.

I am new to Labview, recently I use DAQ to receive 2 channels, one is expected signal and another one is control signal. If the control signal is higher than threshold (rising edge), write expected data in 1s. Then, ignore the control signal in 2 second. The process is repeated. The attachment is my program but it doesn't work. I use flat sequence to do 2 consecutive tasks but cannot ignore the control signal.
    Any help is appreciate.

Find attached the picture of the vi where I tried to put in timers.one in each of the frame and at the end added one more frame just to measure the time elapsed .
The last frame and the frame with sourcemeter measurment show adifference of about 140 msec.
Is there any way to improve the speed of this portion?
Probably not.  It sounds like the Keithly VI is taking 140 msec.  You can try opening that up to see if there is anything in there that could be causing an unnecessary slowdown.  But trying to tighten it up too much may cause occasional errors (such as timeouts) in trying to get a response back.
But surprisingly I tried displaying the actual timer value at the start and at the start of sourcemeter read function ..but the display of both indicators is almost equal with little difference of only 10 msec.?????  I'm not sure which of the several timers you are referring to here.  What is the value going into the wait function between the VISA write and the Keithly VI?
When you do benchmarking, the timer functions should be in a frame all by themselves.  Having it mixed with another function or VI causes a bit of uncertainty as to when the time was taken.  For instance, you dont' really know if the Keithly VI was started before the time was taken or after.  (The time was probably taken first, but without a data flow or sequence structure dependency, you can't be sure.)

  • Using slim and xfce4, something crashes on exit

I recently did a fresh install of Arch onto an older PC that I have. It's running a P4 3.06GHz, an nVidia GeForce FX 5900, and 1GB RAM. Because of the lower resources, I decided to use xfce4 and slim. I have a monitor and TV hooked up through s-video with the "seperate X screen" option. Whenever I logout of xfce (this includes, logout, reboot, shutdown), it goes to a blank black screen with a cursor at the top left and just hangs. I have slim configured to run from inittab, so it picks up after a couple seconds. However, if I run startx from console, and then logout of xfce the system just hangs and wont accept any keyboard input (including ctrl+alt+function to switch run levels). Also, if I choose to shutdown or reboot, the system will do so but the only thing I see is the blank screen until the POST. If I do a startx from console, the logout, I'm able to ssh in from my laptop, login and issue a reboot (again the screen doesn't change until the POST). Also, if I turn the "seperate x screen" option off, and just run the desktop on the monitor, it doesn't freeze. I've worked my way through a number of issues so far, but this one has me completely stumped. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my configuration or if it's just a problem with the graphics driver. Any advice and/or help is greatly appreciated.

  • JVM Crash When Using JNI and COM

I'm trying to call a DLL compiled from VB6 source code that I do not have access to. The VB6 code simply retrieves data from a DB2 database using ADO and my client code grabs that data and marshals it to my Java code. I'm attempting to achieve this using JNI and COM (without a third-party bridge). It works 75% of the time, but the other 25% of the time, the JVM crashes with the usual Hotspot crash log containing an access violation exception. However, I don't know what in my C++ code (VC++ 8) could be causing this except for passing a "wild" pointer to the code lying underneath the COM object interface. If that is the case, I don't know how I am doing that.
The Java code that is calling my native method is running on Tomcat 5.5.25 and just to be safe, I am not allowing multiple threads to concurrently call the method in my JNI DLL (though I realize that this will kill performance). Once I can get past this problem, I'll do the COM interfacing on a worker thread in my native code so I don't screw up CoInitialize and CoUninitialize calls in the case the same thread is concurrently executing multiple calls to my native code.
I've noticed that in most cases, the JVM crashes during my call to the pClsAccount->OpenConnection method. However, my DLL isn't what is listed on the top of the call stack, which is why I suspect the passing of a wild pointer, though I'm just taking a guess at that. Does anyone have an idea as to what's going on ?

  • Acquiring two signals and saving at a Table

    Good Morning,
I'm new to LabVIEW, and I need help at a Data Acquisition. Let me explain it, so I hope you guys can help me.
I need a graph, and a Table displaying two signals acquired at a Field Point conection: Pressure and Temperature.
At this measurement, I need the VI to measure every five minutes, during one minute every measure.
And I need to save the signals to '.txt'.
I need the Table to save both signals, and a "cronometer', to keep in control of any existant difference in the signals, observing the exact time the signals changed, if it changes.
Sorry for the bad English, I'm an aprentice, using the User of the Area's Supervisor.
    Thanks.

Check out the examples that ship with LV you will find something to get you started. Then if you have specific problems we can help more.Mike...
