Using SuperDrive at an angle - risky? bad?

hey, I read somewhere in my MacBook Pro's manual that you shouldnt insert or use discs in your SuperDrive when the laptop is being used at an angle or slant and also that Apple is not responsible for damages inflicted on the drive due to this. Is this true? Is thi really a danger? I always have my macboo pro on a laptop stand to keep it cool on my desk, and whenever I want to use a disc, I always have to take it off, remove the stand and THEN insert the disc. Am I taking too many precautions?
Thank you all for your speedy response, I'm pretty new to all this. I did have to have my superdrive replaced a week ago because mine was defective.

I keep mine on one of those Podium Pads and have never taken it off to use the SuperDrive. I don't know how much of an angle your stand provides, but I have never had an issue with running mine that way.

Use of SAVE_TEXT in customer exits / BADI for purchase order

I am trying to save some long text by using SAVE_TEXT function module in a badi implementation for purchase order header text. The same is working fine if i try to update the PO header text via a report. But if i try using badi (the code is written in a PAI event for the BADI), then though the text transfer and save is successful during the code excution, but for the first time when i add any text its not visible in ME22N tcode. Since its an online event. But when i double click on that editor and the sap script editor gets opened. then i press back button, the text is appearing on the same small screen edtor . after this any number of time i edit or delete text, the save_text function module works fine.
My issue is why for the first time always i have to double click on the editor to open the sap script editor. I have also included commit_text in this case after save_text FM.
the requirement here goes like this. in one tab for PO header the user will enter some number (This is a customizing screen implemented through badi.) and the corresponsing discription should appear when user clicks on text tab in po header screen (me21n / me22n).

I need to use the BADI HRWPC_PCR_APPR_FORM. In which the values are available in the Container. So if i need to use the container values then i need to use that include <cntain>.

U can access any objects or variables in BADI only if they are used as parameters in it.
So please check whether that global object is declared as parameters in the corresponding BADI.
If so, you can surely use it.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.

Stills using the Ken Burns effects are bad quality

Many -- perhaps most -- commercial movie DVDs are protected against copying. Breaking this copy protection scheme is illegal in the USA, where Apple, which hosts this forum, is based. When you buy a DVD, you don't actually buy the movie. You buy a licence to see the movie under certain conditions. If the licence allows you to make copies (some do), and the DVD is not copy protected -- then nothing is simpler. You just copy the VIDEO_TS folder to any location on the external drive you choose, then you view the movie with DVD Player. File > Open DVD Media…, navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder, select it, click the Choose button, then press the spacebar to start watching.

Using Superdrive on iMac with dead disply

Is there any way that I can use the Superdrive on myiMac FP until I can afford to get the display fixed? I just installed a new superdrive and would like to make sure it works, but since I have no display, I am not sure how to do this. I can connect to the iMac via home network or Firewire Target Drive. Also is there a way to access the system profiler of the iMac from my iBook using either network or target drive?

You can't burn discs over Target Disk Mode but you can connect your iMac to another display. Have a look at this user tip:

Use of function module : NUMBER_GET_NEXT in BADI TRIP_WEB_NUMBER

I am implementing BADI TRIP_WEB_NUMBER and using function module NUMBER_GET_NEXT to get the next number from a number range when the function module throws an exception how can i pass the exception to the exporting parameter
of the BADI 'RETURN' which is of table type BAPIRETTAB.
Do i need to handle exception as below?

What should i pass in the other fields of ls_return i mean like TYPE,ID,NUMBER etc??

You have to pass the message in the proper structure in the RETURN parameter
Exampple
      return-type = 'E'.
      return-number = '12'.
      return-message = 'number generation error'

How to use a screen-field when applying BADI or User Exit to a T Code

Hi Experts,
I need your help on this problem.
I have created a BADI for the transaction code miro. I have got the Exit name on which the enhancement has to be done. I want to perform a check on a text field (Scrren field name INVFO-SGTXT).
When my break point occurs i enter INVFO-SGTXT in the field to check the value present in it. But it shows that no such field exists.
My Basic doubt is how to use a value entered in a text field in a tcode while performing a User Exit or BADI on it.
Do I have to declare it. If yes please mention how?

Hi,
The first question here would be... do you plan on having multiple implementations down the road because if not there really isn't any reason to create a BADI inside the exit. If that is the case then add the field as an importing parameter in your BADI interface and then you should be able to see it inside the BADI at your break-point.

Using Superdrive as an external burner for iMac

I have an iMac flat screen (OS 10.4.6) Combo drive and an iMac (OS 10.2.8)with a SuperDrive. Can I use the older machine with the superdrive as an external drive for the newer machine?

On your iMac flat screen you could use iDVD to make a disc image. Copy the disc image to your older iMac and use Disk Utility on that iMac to burn the DVD.

It's almost impossible. The new iMacs have a Target Display Mode, but it's built to do that. Without ripping your screen out, finding an acceptable power supply, frame, and whatever electronics to convert a Thunderbolt signal to the screen, the cost will be much larger than buying a cheaper HiDef monitor that runs with an HDMI to Thunderbolt cable to your MacBook 15. In fact, you can sell your 17" MBP for a lot of money, unless it's broken or something, buying you a really sweet monitor.

No, it only works on Macs that lack an internal optical drive (MacBook Air and Mac Mini).

Using a power bank good or bad for iphone battery lifespan?

I currently use iphone 5, i see many aid product made now such as power bank,
but a question comes in my mind , is that good or bad for our battery lifespan?

Are you referring to cases with battery packs in them?
If so, most have a switch to turn the battery in the case on or off.
Having the iPhone or any phone in a battery case is neither good or bad. It is merely a way to extend the "life" of the device between charges without the need to physically plug the device in as there is always the extra battery onboard.
