Using the Concat & Substring
Hello all,
Pretty simple question, just running into syntax errors.
I want to take the first letter of fields 1 and 2, and the 6, 9, and 3rd number of fields three. I can do this with a substring one at a time, but I need to this so it puts all of the values from the substr together, ex. 051097HT. This is Date of birth, and initials. How would I usr the Concat for this. My last attempt.
TextField1.rawValue = Concat(Substr (txtDOB.rawValue, 6,2),(Substr(txtDOB.rawValue,9,2)
This is not the complete solution, just 2 parts. Not sure how to write it to put it together.

These string operations are part of Core JavaScript, not Acrobat. To learn about using string in the JavaScript language you should take a look at a JavaScript Language Reference. The O'Reilly book is the best but there are plenty of online resources as well.

This line has a syntax problem, it should be
TextField1.rawValue = str1.substr(6,2)+ str2.substr(9,2);
To keep it from adding the numbers you can force the this expression into a string context like this
TextField1.rawValue = String(str1.substr(6,2))+ String(str2.substr(9,2));
OR
TextField1.rawValue = str1.substr(6,2).concat(str2.substr(9,2));

I am having trouble using the substring function in SAP+XI. I have to consider the value from characters 6 to 19 for a target field of 25 characters. Every time I ma using the standard substring function it is giving an error Array Out of Bounds Exception.

Above error wil come if the input string length is less than the substring length what you are trying to get..
i.e length of the input string is less than 25 characters... do some validations or pass substring as 6 and 0 ..

I am trying to create a form where one the customer has input their name and phone number it should grab the first letter of the customer's name and then the last 4 digits of the phone number.
I am not very good at coding, and have VERY VERY limited background in coding. I understand a little (the basics pretty much).
I am thinking i am not using the right expression to get what i want. Below is the statement I have write. This is just to find the first letter of the name, have an idea on how to get the phone number but i was trying the use the "left" and "right" functions but they wouldn't work. More specifically the left.

How to use the Rectangle class to draw an image and center it in a JPanel
I sent an earlier post on how to center an image in a JPanel using the Rectangle class. I was asked to send an executable code which will show the malfunction. The code below is an executable code and a small part of a very big project. To simplifiy things, it is just a JFrame and a JPanel with an open dialog. Once executed the JFrame and the FileDialog will open. You can then navigate to a .gif or a .jpg picture and open it. What I want is for the picture to be centered in the middle of the JPanel and not the upper left corner. It is also important to stress that, I am usinig the Rectangle class to draw the Image. The region of interest is where the rectangle is created. In the constructor of the CenterRect class, I initialize the Rectangle class. Then I use paintComponent in the CenterRect class to draw the Image. The other classes are just support classes. The MyImage class is an extended image class which also has a draw() method. Any assistance in getting the Rectangle to show at the center of the JPanel without affecting the size and shape of the image will be greatly appreciated.

How can i use the same cursor in a loop fro multipletimes.
I am using two cursors.One to fetch sites and the other to fetch participants under each site.I am performing some job with that participants data.Now the problem is i am using the 2nd cursor in a loop.So it fetches the data of participants falling under one state.But when it comes to the second state,as the second cursor is already open it is unable to fetch the records.Please help me .How can i use the same cursor in a loop fro multipletimes.

How to use the pps function from JCOP?

I'm trying to use the pps function from JCTerminal (JCOP API: [url http://www.cs.ru.nl/~woj/jcopapi/com/ibm/jc/JCTerminal.html#pps(int, int)]pps function ) to connect my client to a virtual card with a specific protocol (T=0).
But I always got the error: "Protocol and parameter selection not supported by this terminal!"
I've tried to make an ATR that support both protocol : [url http://smartcard-atr.appspot.com/parse?ATR=3b909580811fc7dc]3B 90 95 80 81 1F C7 DC.
I really don't know what value to put in the second parameter (baud rate), I've tried with 150000, which is in the range of the ATR but I'm not sure this is correct. And I could't find any example of it.
I'm also not sure where to put the pps command, the specification say directly after a reset, so I tried this implementation:

I'm using a virtual terminal (windows driver), and I don't see how I could turn off the Auto-pps. I've also tried with a real reader and a card and I have the same error.

But I don't know if only I value of baud-rate is possible in the range. Anyway I just would like to change the protocol, not the baud-rate.

? - Is there a way to validate 1 XML record at a time, using the SAX or oth
Hello!
Before running into space problems, i generated an XML file from a 'pipe delimited' file and and then processed that XML file thru a SAXParser 'validator' and the data was correctly validated, using the RELAXNG Schema patterns as the validation criteria!
But as feared, the XML file was huge! (12 billion XML recs. generated from 1 billion 'pipe' recs.) and i am now trying to find a way to process 1 'pipe' record at a time, (ie) read 1 record from the 'pipe delimited' file, convert that rec. to an XML rec. and then send that 1 XML rec. thru the SAXParser 'validator', avoiding the build of a huge temporary XML file!
After testing this approach, its looks like the SAXParser 'validator' (sp.parse) is expecting only (1) StringBufferInputStream as input,and after opening, reading and closing just (1) of the returned StringBufferInputStream objects, the validator wants to close up operations!
Where i have the "<<<<<" you can see where i'm calling the the object.method that creates the 'pipe>XML' records 'sb.createxml' and will be returning many occurances of the StringBufferInputStream object, where (1) StringBufferInputStream object represents (1) 'pipe>XML' record!
So what i'm wondering, is if there is a form of 'inputStream' class that can be loaded and processed at the same time! ie instead of requiring that the 'inputStream' object be loaded in it's entirety, before going to validation?
Or if there is another XML 'validator' that can validate 1 XML record at a time, without requiring that the entire XML file be built first?

I need to be able to encrypt data in PHP using a public key generate by .NET(RSACryptoServiceProvider). I will then decrypt the data later in C# using the private key.

As you see this code snippet is a xml format private key. at .net platform,which can use encrypt or dencrypt.
i have try the Extension Crypt RSA ( http://pear.php.net/reference/Crypt_RSA-1.0.0/elementindex_Crypt_RSA.html ) to help me encrypt data by php.but it haven't return a currect result. the data encrypted by php cann't dencrypt by c#.
does the RSA algorithm provider by Crypt_RSA can give a stand result as c#?
BTW :i just use the xmlkeystring like this.

and then I set the utl_http.set_persistent_conn_support() to False to get that error message. Seems like the website in question doesnt have the webservice anymore because the error has to do with the parsing of the WSDL file.... which probrably doesnt exist.
Im just trying to get a working example of using a third party webservice to return a value to be displayed in the database.... know of any good examples? The ones im using seem to be pretty out dated... the barnes and nobles example just times out.... -
Using the result of string_to_table in SQL

Apologies if this has already been answered - I couldn't seem to get the right mix of search terms to find what I was looking for.
I'd like to know if there is a way to use the output or APEX_UTIL.string_to_table directly in SQL without any extra coding (I know I could create VARCHAR2 table type and CAST that to a table - essentially I'm wondering if this has already been done for you or not with APEX).
So the end query would be something like:

SET column_a = 12345
WHERE my_id_column IN (SELECT column_value FROM TABLE(APEX_UTIL.string_to_table(:P1_MY_MULTISELECTLIST)));Regards,

Both (obviously) spot on and which was the confirmation I was expecting.
Denes' example was virtually identical to what I'd already come up with (probably cribbed from the same source! ;o)
Andy with regards to the LIKE method this would have worked as well although (initially) I was concerned about the overhead of having to do a TO_CHAR for each row in the 'real' table - in my case they are numbers and not strings, but then I neglected to mention that in the original post so you couldn't have known that. It's also probably a fairly moot point as I have to send it through a function anyway only way to know which is best for a given situation is to test. My gut feel is that for relatively small number of rows there will be no difference/a slight edge towards a TO_CHAR and using LIKE but as the table volumes go up the in list idea might be best - don't quote me on that though!
For what it's worth, my example is below, but it is essentially the same as Denes's/Tom Kyte's functions.

Using the "IN" expression in SQL statement

I have an array with multiple values stored in it. I would like to use these values in the filter expression of another query using the "IN" clause (data is coming from a sql dataabse). Is there a way to achieve this, I did not see an option in the std query template for using the "IN" expression.

If your issue is that you have one table which stores Itendities , and you need to display Student identity and Instructor Identity, you have to call this table twice in your query , using table aliases . I mean :

cOST ELEMENT is compounded/prefixed with Controlling Area. I just want to see cost element without conrolling area in the BO report.
Currenlty BO unierse is build based on bex query. I am able to suppress the compounding object in bex query by chaning controlling area to 'No display'. But still BO Webi report displaying compounded values in the report. (Bex report works as expected)

Hi all,
I'm using a Canon Vixia HF-R100 and trying to use the Capture Feature in the program, but don't know where to start? I've researched around google how to connect the video camera, but I can't get a concrete answer. The camera has a component out which I believe is an IEEE 1394 (a or b?). I trying to hook it up to my 13' MBP as well as my desktop that I think has a Firewire 400. Any help would be great.
PS - When I use this featue does it capture what the camera sees approx. 'real-time' or will I have to record first, then play it back?function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

The answer you were given to this question above is "yes, capture is in real-time" BUT, I think that possibly that poster misunderstood your question. I believe the OP is asking if he can use the capture feature in Premiere to record video "as the camera sees it" instead of having to go to tape/flash first, and then play it back to be captured. To my knowledge, Premiere's capture interface doesn't allow for capture of live video... for something like that you'd use OnLocation which is bundled with Premiere.
