Using the onboard AC97 sound.

I have a old SB Live 5.1 card. My goal was to use the onboard sond so I can remove the SB-card from the PCI-slot to save resources. Is the onboard card better?
But what else can I do than enable the onboard sound I BIOS and install the drivers?
There is no sound. According to my system no sound card is installed. I see that the message; "Driver installed, but not activated" (Direct translated from norwegian).
So what have I forgot
Forgot specs:
MSI KT-600 LSR
512 ram
XP 2600+

After 1 year with bs, the Bios on this card is an constant image on my eye

Integrated peripherals - and look for AC97 onboard if is enabled or disabled
It is enable, just like the LAN, who is working by the way.
I have tried everything you suggest, I will try it again when I get home. Looking forward to   my head in again...
Maybe I should toss the pc out the window (12 stores), and go out and play and climb trees

My Macbook Pro has recently started to mute/unmute itself randomly. VERY FRUSTRATING! It doesn't matter whether I have speakers connected or using the onboard speakers. Any suggestions?
I have looked at other forums and the fixes suggested do NOT work.
    What would cause this?
    How is it corrected?

    Hello DChrystal
Try paying attention to the Keyboard Viewer to see if any keys are being pressed that could be causing the sound to be muted. If it is, try it in another user to see if it is software that is causing the issue or if it is the actual keyboard that is having the issue.

  • How can i use the onboard memory from NI6534

I want to use the onboard memory of PCI 6534,but i don´t how can i put my data on this memory? are there function or command for that?
    thank you.
    Armand

    Armand,
Please reference the User Manual for the PCI-6534. Specifically, pages 2-10 and 2-22 in the Continuous Output sections explain how to leverage the onboard memory using either LabVIEW or the NI-DAQ C interface. For LabVIEW you will set the Pattern Generation Loop Enable attribute to ON in the DIO Parameter VI.

  • How to quit using the onboard RAID Z87-G45

In hindsight, using the onboard RAID has a number of drawbacks, from making updating the BIOS risky, disabling AHCI for optimum SSD use, and the occasional degradation of performance while verify/repair operations run (about 6 hours per Terabyte).
If I were to buy a large enough SSD, would it be able to clone the RAID mirror?

Quote from: pandaz on 01-September-14, 15:52:13
SSD is already quite fast enough and buying large capacity of SSD would cost you $$$
I've only got about 300GB actual data on the RAID.   Once the RAID is freed-up, I gain the use of multiple 1TB SATA drives.
So, only need a 500GB SSD.

  • If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS

If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS?

Right. But as I understand it, the aGPS is a function that speeds location using cell signals, but isn't necessary for the GPS signal. I can buy a plugin device that is a real GPS that I can use with my iPad mini. However, I would need an app for maps. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these.

  • Using the iMac for Sound...?

    Fellow Mac enthusiasts,
I am currently playing Xbox 360 on an old CRT moniter next to iMac, using a vga adapter. The Problem is I dont have any sound. So in theory couldnt i plug in the the digital audio cable that comes from the 360's Sound ( same size as the audio in port on the iMac/iPod headphone size) into the iMac's audio in slot, usually used for microphones, but just plug it in and use a program to just play the sound? Get what im saying?

    Hi Gamedude6
Yes just be sure that you are using a 3.5mm stereo jack in the Mac like the one in the link below.
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/Full/ck27_2003cat.jpg
Then have a look at this handy little app. call LineIn from MacUpdate for passing the audio from input thur to output.

  • How do I use the onboard clock when using DAQmx timing?

    Hi,
I'm using the example: Count Digital Events-Buffered-Finite-Ext Clock.
I want to use the PCI-6602 onboard clock. When I leave the sample clock source unwired I get an error message :
Error -200303 occurred at DAQmx Start Task.vi:1
                                                                                                                                                                  Possible reason(s):
External sample clock source must be specified for this application.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Counters do not have an internal onboard clock like the AI and AO subsystems do.  So you have to generate the sample clock for your edge counting task yourself.  This is often done with the other counter by generating a continuous pulse train.
    I hope this helps!

  • Onboard ac97 sound problems

Yesterday I enabled and installed the drivers for the onboard sound only to find that whenever I move the mouse a scratching noise is heard from the speakers.
I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers (through Live Update 2) only to find that the problem exists.
My motherboard is an MSI 6380 Pro 2 (Via KT266A). Can anybody suggest anything?

    Heya,
I had exactly the same problem with the onboard sound.
    I have an MS-6380 K7T266 Pro2 RU board.
I had the 5.10.3800 version drivers at the time.  I've since updated to 5.10.3960 which is available on the Audio drivers page..

  • How do you measure frequency using the onboard counter on PCMCIA 6024-E

I am using LABView 6.1 and NI-DAQ 7.2 with a SCXI-1000 chassis and a PCMCIA 6024-E on a laptop. I need to measure a frequency of about 3KHz and would like to do that using an 1180 direct through connector.
Firstly, should I see this 1180 in MAX like any other module?
And secondly, how do I use this 6024-E card to measure frequency? Which pins are supposed to be used on it to measure, and will I see the counter run in the test window in MAX according to the frequency measured?
I know NI also have a frequency module for the SCXI chassis. So lastly, will it be better to use that, rather than measure directly off the 6024-E?
Any help, advise or comments will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hello,
I think I can help out with some of your questions. First, the 1180 module wont show up in MAX since it is really just a feedthrough cable which allows you access to your unused signals from the DAQ card.
You definitely can measure frequency using your 6024E. An example installs with NI-DAQ 7.2 which shows how to accomplish this. To access this example go to the LabVIEW start up screen and hit the Find Example button. When the Example Finder opens up browse to the following location: Hardware Input and Output -> DAQ -> Counters -> DAQ-STC -> Measure Frequency (DAQ-STC).vi
This example measures frequency and has a connection diagram on the front panel. The documentation for the example can be accessed by going to File -> VI properties -> Document
ation, after you have opened the VI.
You are correct that we offer a frequency input module for SCXI (SCXI-1126). This module would be useful if your input voltages are non-TTL, or if you need to measure more than one channel of frequency signals. This module has an input range of +/- 250Vrms and 8 input channels.
I hope this helps! Let me know if there is anything I can help with or clarify.

  • Is there a way to use the onboard mic and an audio interface simultaneously with the iPad?

I teach bass lessons with skype and was wondering if theres a way to do this with an ipad
Can the ipad pic up my voice(through internal mic) and bass(throgh audio interface) simultaniusly and then use both of those signals with skype?
Any ideas on how I might teach skype lessons with an ipad? Thanks http:/http://basslessonsunlimited.com

    Yes.
    1) Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <--> ports on your existing wireless router to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule
    2) Go through the standard configuration suggested by the setup "wizard"
    3) Then manually turn off the wireless function using AirPort Utility

  • Why doesn't Twitter & Facebook use the sounds you set in your sound settings?

When Twitter send a notification, its uses the Apple message sound, instead of the "Tweet" sound that is the default sound in your sound settings. For Facebook, it either sends the same Apple sound, or no sound at. Facebook is supposed to use the "Swish" sound. Does anyone know how to fix  or configure that correctly? I did log in both apps through my settings instead of just using the apps.

    Hi Judy,
The resource leveling command is not a resource optimization tool.  It's only job is to resolve resource overallocations by delaying tasks.  It will not:
Change resource assignment units to tasks.
Ensure the resource is "fully" utilized.
    For example:
Resource with max units of 100% (the default).
Task A starts on 20 January until 22 January and the resource is assigned at 75%.
Task B starts on 21 January until 23 January and the resource is assigned at 50%
The resource is overallocated on Tuesday (peak = 125%) and Wednesday (peak = 125%).
    Leveling produces this result:
Project did not drop the assignment to Task B to 25% to allow it to continue while Task A was going on -- it simply delayed B (at 50%) until A was scheduled to finish.

  • KT7 TURBO-2 No AC97 Sound in XP Pro

I have MSI KT7 TURBO-2 (MS-6330 v 5.x), supposedly there is on Board AC97 Audio according to the manual, all the internal and external audio connectors are on the m/b however Windows XP does not see any sound devices being installed. I made sure on-chip is enabled in the BIOS, still no sound card is seen. None of the audio drivers supplied on the driver CD work, they all give message "There is no xxxxx audio device on your system". First of all, it would be nice to know which sound chip is actually shipped with the board, and second is there any secret setting to get the on-chip audio working in XP ? There are no missing devices in the devices manager, it's like the device does not exists.
    Any comments would be appreciated.

    3. a third possibility (found in practice and also here in the forum - don't ask me why exactly  ;-) is that the board will work but will show problems with the sound - it could be that the sound circuitry is more sensitive to the effects of grounding.
I would think that if the onboard sound is not working due to grounding, that same grounding could lead to other problems in the long run. In that way, this effect could be a blessing in disguise and I would definitely try hard to solve the problem - even if I would be planning on using a PCI soundcard. AFAIK, if the on board sound is not working for such a reason, it is very well prossible that a sound card will not work either ... (edit: but as you can see above, sometimes it will  ) )

PS: Nocturnal, keep us posted on the freezing ...
    Hans,
Thanks for the reply. I decided for the sake of being sure to take out my SB PCI 128 card and see if I could get the onboard sound to work. Thankfully I had no problems. Now I have another question. What advantages or disadvantages are there to using the onboard sound? What are the best drivers? Would I be better to reinstall my SB PCI 128? Thanks for the help.
    Dave

Being the inquisitive mind that I am   , I removed the mobo and used plastic pegs in the place of 3 center screws, voila the on board sound magically came back on ! It was just for my curiosity since I don't want to use the crappy AC97 audio anyway. SB Live is much better   . Anyhow, as to the video freezing, I loaded "Fail Safe Defaults" in the latest BIOS and downloaded latest ATI Direct X 9 drivers and the problem has disapppeared. When I try to load "Optimized Defaults" I still get video freezing problems, so I just left it on the fail safe since friday and it seems to be rocks solid stable. Thanks for your input.
